This book and the stories I share is literally my reason to live right now. It may sound drastic or over dramatic particularly because I’m married and have three young children from two other marriages, but I wanted to have a peaceful death due to the pile of shit I’m facing. Everyone else in my life has means and other people in their lives to have a happy life, but the experiences of myself and others in mental health facilities need someone to carry the stories of pure negligence to help stop them from happening. After taking actions to commit suicide I was involuntarily committed to Bethany Behavioral Health in Bethany, Oklahoma, for 13 days. From the start the facility trounced on my legal rights demonstrating very little care or concern for the patients focusing primarily on cost and the bottom line. I’m pretty sure Bethany Behavioral Health is not the worst of the worst, but it’s a place I hope no one else has to go to. This book is absolutely intended to be a review of the facility, but I also hope that many mental health professionals read the book to identify areas they can help improve on with their patients or facilities. Enjoy the roller coaster ride of my adventures too – you can’t make this stuff up. Despite the hell of the experience, along the way there were also some great stories with deep heartfelt moments and a lot of laughs. Apologies for any editing needs the book is not professionally edited as of it’s initial release. This is my eighth self-published book (although I have removed several of them) so I do have a good amount of experience writing, but I felt it was imperative to release the book. Hopefully editing will happen soon and everyone with a digital copy gets a cleaner version.
