Finding The Way Home Can Be Deadly

It starts with an article from Jason's crank file. Some campers have discovered an unconscious "space alien" in the wilds of Colorado.

Every mention of the story quickly vanishes from the internet--but not before Alastair Stone gets a look at the single, blurry photo.

The "space alien" looks tantalizingly familiar...

Stone's going to need some heavy-duty help to get her back where she belongs. Help he doesn't even know how to reach. And things get even more complicated when he discovers how she got here—a revelation that catches the interest of yet another powerful friend.

To make this right, Stone must not only walk a tightrope between two brilliant, potent, and relentless allies and their competing goals, but also keep them from finding out about each other.

And finally, at long last, he's about to learn some truths about himself that make everything that's come before look trivial by comparison.

If he survives the experience, his life is about to get very interesting.

Very good. Her books always grab & rush me along in a tail spin. King's imagination is amazing. This one starts off with Gina, the mundane that works for Jason at his detective agency, finding a story about an alien woman that was found by some hikers. Alastair, looking at the article she pulled up, thought there was something familier about her. In the meantime, the article disappears off the internet, as well an any other related article. Gina, however, had already made a copy of the article for Jason's "crank" files.

Alastair soon recalls why the "space alien" looks familiar, but the help he needs to return her home, is difficult & next to impossible to reach. When he discovers how she got here, that presented a whole new set of issues & complications. And during the whole process of working things through, he must "walk a tightrope" between 2 powerful allies, while keeping them from finding out about each other. Plus a revelation is revealed to Stone about himself by one of these allies that changes everything for him.

Homecoming, Book #23 of the Alastair Stone Chronicles,
by R.L. King

King delivers a book so chocked full of information on so many issues that it will undoubtedly require revisiting prior to the release of Book #24 later this year.

In this adventure King skillfully ties several seemingly unrelated events and issues up in a wonderfully elaborate bow that answers some questions, asks others, and gives the reader insight into not only Stone's background, but the backstories of other characters the reader has become familiar with in past adventures, while adding new characters that may emerge in future episodes as key players. The plotting is stellar, the pacing and flow seamless, the editing and proofing flawless, and there is no cliffhanger ending, while still leaving the reader breathless wondering where the next in the series will take Stone and his readers. Kudos, R.L. King, if I could I'd give you 10 stars on this one!

A Petulant Stone Prevails

RL King has put together another satisfying leg in the journey of Dr Alastair Stone and his hearty band of fellow wanderers. The beauty of this tale is the several separate though intertwined plot lines that in due time resolve just in time to find the next waypoint. For those that are reading the series, some niggling questions from prior books begin to be answered. In addition, there are several surprises including one I just didn’t expect but that’s what makes it fun. Looking forward to the next leg as well as I expect some spin off tales much like Bron and Happenstance. If you want a series that is interesting as well as a pleasant to devour each book in a sitting you can’t beat the good Dr Stone.

Mysteries solved and new ones revealed - including the title!

Don't start this page turner until you have time to see it through. Alastair gets into more than his usual tough situations and it's never obvious how he will make it through. It wasn't until the very end that "Homecoming" as a title made sense to me but I'm still smiling as it now very much does. Do yourself a favor and don't skip to the end; read it the way it was written.

Best series, great book

I'm always happy with each book I read in this series. The author is up there with the greats like Kim Harrison, Jim butcher. The stories and characters evolve and get better with each book. I hope it never ends. Read this book start at the beginning. I hope you get hooked on them like me.

Change is in the air.

This book is mostly about Stone with side plots about Jason, and Verity. Stone learns more about his heritage. Harrison spends some time with Stone after they aid a traveler. Portals, rifts and the Nexus are featured. A thoughtful book, to be savored and enjoyed

Superb story, excellent writing

As with all excellent books, it was over far too soon - the author fully pulls you into the world of Stone and doesn’t let go until the story is over; it’s compelling, intriguing, fascinating, and oh so moreish. I cannot wait for the next instalment!

Good addition to the series, great background info revealed

I found this book very entertaining and got through it quickly. It felt a little disjointed; there are couple different subplots going on here to make one novel. But still highly entertaining, as is RL's standard. Loved it

AWESOME

I was supposed to go grocery shopping, but I started reading Blood Brothers and couldn’t tear myself away. I think this is one of the best of the whole series. And that’s saying a lot, because the other books have been great.

This series has completely enthralled me from the beginning. I have deliberately set aside the next in the series as it will be the last one for a bit and I’m. It ready for that. Once you start on them you’ll be plunged into the world of mage’s and mundane’s and can’t stop. Such an awesome series
