Assassins Guild #1

The Unexpected Bonding Vow

Mated?

No. Never. The last thing Garik Denikon would do is willingly tie himself to a woman. That would require a level of trust the ruthless assassin didn't allow.

Yet, here he was.

On the run, escaping from an enemy, with his bonded mate at his side.
Saedra had one chance. Only one, to grasp freedom and escape. So she took it with both hands locked tight to the dark-haired man in her father's dungeon. She didn't care about his deadly reputation or the rumors. Garik Denikon was worth the risk if he helped her to get away.

An enjoyable sci-fi romance.

This novel was delightful. A sexy alpha hero assassin and the woman who unravels him. The heroine was suspiciously kind and well adjusted considering how she was raised, however. I would have liked more attention paid to the emotional and behavioral affects of her traumatic upbringing. There were plenty of action and adventure elements in this novel. I also liked the length of this story and the tight pacing. I look forward to reading the next book in this series when it releases.

Love books by this author, she always knows how to reel you in from the very beginning of her books and doesn’t release you til the very end. Try it you won’t be disappointed

A Story of Trust

Saedra is the daughter of Maurin Cressler, a crime lord who ruled over a moon station named Quantoon, a haven for all types of criminals. Since her mother’s death, she has taken her place as a punching bag for Maurin.

Garik Denikon is a highly skilled assassin in the Assissan’s Guild who has been betrayed by a fellow assassin. He is thrown into Maurin’s dungeon and after being tortured, he has been left to languish until he’s substantially weakened. Saedra steals the key to his cell and wants him to help her escape from Maurin. However, before they go, he injects her with his hormone, which creates an unbreakable bond between the two.

Garik knows that there’s something that Saedra is withholding from him, but decides to trust her anyway. She also has placed her trust in him, with the hope that he won’t abandon her. She knows that if she tells him that Maurin is her father, he will no longer take her with him.

I really enjoyed this story, which is actually a tale of trust by each protagonist in the other, even though Garik in particular has a problem trusting anyone. The escape is a tense ordeal, with no one willing to help them. Although Saedra attempted to plan the escape with care, there was only so much she could anticipate. If you like intense drama in your sci-fi romance, then this is the book for you!

A SOLID 3.5 STARS!

A CLEAN BUT MILDLY INTENSE ROMANCE WITH BEAUTIFULLY WRITTEN CHARACTERS. Usually, I enjoy sex in my romance stories but this one worked well because the characters were just strong and while their chemistry wasn't the singe the sheets kind, it definitely was heart warming and adorable.

GARIK is the assassin sent to kill our heroine's Father who's a little more than demented. But, he was betrayed and ended up captured then tortured for 2 weeks straight. His saviour comes in the form of Maurin's daughter - his Sesi and she offers marriage to save him. Despite appearances, the female may be frail and weak but getting to know her, he realizes that she's got a strong spirit and heart. I rather liked the whole part where people always underestimate the heroine but she showed them she's made of sterner stuff.

OVERALL this was short and sweet. If the author wanted to turn this into something more, she could have done so too.

Going down as an all time favorite

I can’t express how much I loved this book. Yes, it did need some editing with wrong or misspelled words throughout, but even that couldn’t take away from this story which is really saying something for me. Normally that might keep me from finishing a book. But I loved Garek and Saedra. While I’ve never really liked the hidden secret/lie story lines, it didn’t bother me at all because I was so invested in these characters. There was just something about Garek that made him such an amazing hero. So protective of Saedra. And though she was beaten down by her father, she had a core of steel to do everything in her power to escape. Finally, I also really appreciated that she didn’t play the sacrificial lamb at the end confrontation. She took her chances and it was a relief from what we normally see in a romance storyline. Overall an excellent book. One I will definitely read again and recommend to all.

Feelings won’t be denied

This is my first experience with this author and I think I’m in love. What an amazing story! This couple moved me to tears between everything they suffered and everything that they found. The author kept me glued to the edge of my seat with each turn of the page. The danger and intensity was high throughout the book and I absolutely enjoyed the connection the characters formed as they struggled to survive. This book is a definite re-read and I can’t wait to read the next book by this author.

I really enjoyed this short story. Saedra was a very strong, courageous character despite what she endured. Garik was very likeable too. As another reviewer said, it's one of those books you would want to go back to re-read. I can totally understand and I'll likely going back to this again at some point.

I wish this was longer because I liked the characters so much, but for the length it was, it was a well told story. Highly recommend.

The Unexpected Bonding Vow

Betrayed by an associate, imprisoned, beating and starved.
Garik knows time is running out, can he make a third attempt to escape.
Saedra bears the scars from the monster, her father.
She must escape soon or he will kill her.
Full of drama and adventure.
A great read.

Oops, I just fell through another loophole, and man, do you need a bath. This was a quick read, but there were too many things that left you guessing how that came about. I can't tell you what they were, or I would be revealing too much of the book. If you want something quick and simple with action, this might be for you, but would I read it again? No.

Ended too abruptly. The rest of the story was pretty good, but then suddenly it’s over and the happy ending felt shaky and unfinished.
