After having loved every single book within the Fixed Series universe by Laurelin Paige, I was more than ready to get more of Boyd and Norma's story. I have always wanted and needed more of those two, and have always been curious as to how they came together and what their relationship was like. Falling Under You gave me the phenomenal opportunity to see how things took that initial turn for the, how their relationship progressed, and just how far those two were willing to go in order to be with one another.
Filled to the brim with heat, passion, and a connection that just couldn't be fought or denied, Falling Under You lets you experience the power, the intensity, and the enormity of what Boyd and Norma share. It lets you fall right along with them, and through every moment you get with them, the more you realize how right these two are for one another, and how much they need to be together. What Norma and Boyd share is raw, full of heat and connection and a pull that can't be fought, and in the end their story is one of control and power and love and the amazing, unadulterated, all-feeling, and life changing things that can happen when you combine all 3.
This novella was full of Norma and Boyd and what makes them so distinctive and amazing. Add to that Laurelin Paige's phenomenal writing that weaves together a story full of feels, meaning, and spark, and you have yourself one must read novella. This was a quick read too, yet it didn't gloss over anything. It gave me Norma and Boyd, full force, and it allowed me to go along with them as they tried to figure out what they could do to be together and what exactly that might mean for them. Their story was emotional, it was full of a spark that was distinctive to Norma and Boyd and all that they felt for each other, and it was bursting with heart and feels and this literal pull that kept me hooked in the entire time.
Now while this could technically be read as a standalone, I would recommend reading the other books in this series first, just so you really get the full impact of this novella. Also, all of Laurelin Paige's books are amazing, so you need to read them. Stat.
The events of Falling Under You take place over an extended period of time and show you just how Norma and Boyd come to be, how their relationship progresses and goes through so many events that will pull at your heart and simultaneously make you blush, and what happens when things for these two start getting very real and very permanent. This story allows you to see and experience Norma and Boyd through many events that will test them, their feelings for one another, and that will show just how far they are willing to go in order to be with one another.
What I loved about Falling Under You was that I got to see Norma and Boyd through so many different points in their relationship. I was there when things first took that turn into something more, I was there through every heart melting moment of exploration those two shared as they began their relationship, I went through every hurdle and twist and turn that came their way, and I was in it all, heart first experiencing every ounce of what those two had to offer on their journey with each other. Laurelin Paige put me in this book with them, and I loved it. I loved what I felt with them, I loved getting to see those two fight with all they had for one another, and I loved being there with them both as things started to change, and as they both realized how in it they really were.
I especially loved getting to know more about Norma and Boyd in this story. Falling Under You allowed me to understand so much about them, their relationship, and the unforgettable dynamic that they shared. Norma and Boyd definitely share something that you won't soon forget, and every moment with them in this book solidified that idea in my mind even more.
Norma is one fierce woman. Top of her game, smart as hell, and she loves control. She gets off on it, except in the bedroom...that's where she wants someone else to take over, and she's been struggling to find someone who can give her exactly what she needs. Norma is her own force to be reckoned with, and she is not wilting flower, but when things with Boyd start getting very real, very heated, and full of much more than she ever expected, Norma will soon learn what it actually means to give someone that control. Throughout this story, Norma starts to see what giving up that control can be like, and how giving it up to Boyd means that much more, and through it all you get to experience the presence of that woman, and let me tell you something...Norma is the best.
Now Boyd's character is one that I have always been intrigued by, and getting more of him in this novella was everything. That man is genuine, kind, and the power and strength behind the presence he has will blow you away, just like it does Norma. What I loved about Boyd was that he wasn't afraid to push himself or Norma in the way that they both needed to be pushed. He wasn't afraid to go there, to be honest, and to put it all out there on the line, and that sent my heart right to him. It also kind of helped that that man could make me melt in more ways than one, and that with each new moment I got with him, the more I fell for everything he was about. Boyd is endearing, his own force to be reckoned with, and experiencing his care and affection for Norma as he tried to show her what they could have together was phenomenal in every way.
Simply put, this novella is damn good. It's intense, it's full of meaning and feels, and it gives you a story of the amazing, life changing, and all-feeling things that can happen when you give up control and end up in the exact place, and with the exact person, you need to be. This story was everything I needed and wanted with Boyd and Norma and I couldn't have asked for more with them. I felt their story, I lived it, and I loved every word of it, and honestly I just want to thank Laurelin Paige for giving me the chance to enjoy it.
If you've loved this series as much as I have, then this is a must read...and if you've yet to start it, then what are you waiting for? Run yourself to these books, and to Norma and Boyd. They're the best!
