More Love provides 30 short exercises, prayers and reflections to help you experience God’s love. For those who have never known God, those who desire a deeper connection with God, or those who feel unworthy of love, this book is for you. It is small enough to carry along or to slip into an envelope to mail to a friend.
Betsy Duffey grew up with a love of reading and writing. Her earliest experience in writing came from reading manuscripts by her mother author and Newbery winner, Betsy Byars. She began writing in 1990 and has published over twenty children’s books, including a number of popular series. Her books have been Junior Library Guild selections, Crown Award nominees, and have been nominated for state awards in over twenty states. Her latest books are devotional books for adults. She began writing short meditations for friends who were challenged in different ways. More Peace started for a friend undergoing chemotherapy. More Hope for a young friend dealing with infertility. The series continues to grow. Betsy splits her time between Atlanta and the Georgia mountains. When she is not writing you can probably find her outside hiking in the woods or on the porch in a rocking chair with a good book.
No one can ever know the love the Lord has for them unless you’ve experienced it in some manner. This might sound like bound statement but with all of the nonfiction Christian books I had reviewed in 2019 [about 45% of the 264 books I wrote reviews for], I got inspired to write my first two Christian fiction books as R.L.Morgan]. After publishing these two books, I got inspired to create a Christian blog and then a Facebook group for my Christian sisters; where I shared my love for the Lord by sharing the word of the Lord. This year my love for reading/reviewing nonfiction Christian books has now increased to almost 70% of the 136 books I’ve reviewed so far.
As with any devotional book, this endeavor by author Betsy Duffey, is not one that can be rushed through in its reading. I found reading this book would be best if it’s read one devotion a day as one is having their morning coffee. On each day read the devotion Ms. Duffey has written for that day, sit back to quietly meditate and reflect on what you’ve just read as you sip your coffee, then move on to the related scripture she has chosen and do the same, ending with the quotation from the secular world.
As you continue doing this through the pages of her book, you should begin to sense the Lord’s love for you filling your mind and your heart, as your relationship with and love for the Lord begins to deepen. For having created this uplifting, inspiring devotional book for her fellow Christian sisters and brethren, I’ve given Ms. Duffey the 5 STARS she’s gotten from this prolific reviewer of nonfiction Christian books.
Betsy Duffey's short devotions inside were deeply comforting and heartwarming, and they show such a beautiful truth and light of God's deep love for us. Though I have struggled with much heartbreak lately in my life, her devotionals and her sweet reminders of God's love and His promises for us made me smile, and almost shed happy tears in gratitude, reminding me of those truths I needed to hear and see again.
I would recommend her devotionals to any believer, especially those who have been suffering and struggling. God loves you so much. God bless you, Duffey. Thank you for this reminder of His loving kindness. <3
More Love: Experiencing God’s Love is Book 4 in the More Series by Betsy Duffey. Each short entry is the perfect combination of original poetry, a scripture passage & a relevant quote. Like the other books in the series it is a versatile little book. It can be used as a 30-day devotional or like a conversation with an old friend. Through this book you will learn to fully abide in Him.
This book is good if you're looking for a quick bit of encouragement to start your day. I'd consider it a book of positive meditations/reminders to take the time to focus on the little reasons "why" of love.
Enjoyed this 30 day devotional by Betsy Duffey. Brief but soothing to the soul. Thank you for the compilation of poetry, Bible verses and your thoughts.
This book was so easy on the soul. I've read devotionals that left me wanting but this one enveloped me in love. God, how can I be more loving to your people? I'll read this again and again
