Momma & Poppa (foster parents) kept good tabs on Chrissy (16) & the other foster kids.
Chrissy’s escape hatch was by the back edge of the house.
A grandma type was driving a Mercedes Benz headed back to Amarillo.
She picked Becky Tucker (aka Chrissy; Emily Miller) up.
The grandma bought her a bus ticket & gave her $40.
Baller introduced himself to Chrissy.
He offered to buy her something to eat at Papi Churro’s Mexican restaurant.
Genny hired Lauren (aka Chrissy) to be a dishwasher.
1-night Dougie was on the ground & didn’t move.

David Mizrah met Jessica (aka).

I do not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing free books from publishers & authors. Therefore, I am under no obligation to write a positive review, only an honest one.

Warning: This book contains descriptive accounts of extremely graphic adult content (racial hatred), violence, or expletive language &/or uncensored sexually explicit material (minor/adult verbal, psychological, emotional, physical & sexual abuse, prostitution of a human trafficking (slavery) for sexual exploitation) which is only suitable for mature readers. It may be offensive or have potential adverse psychological effects on the reader. If you are especially sensitive to this type of material, it is strongly advised not to read any further.

An awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very professionally written crime thriller book. It was quite easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a huge description list of unique characters, settings, facts etc. to keep track of. This could also make another great crime thriller movie, or better yet a mini-TV series. There is no doubt in my mind this is an extremely easy rating of 5 stars.

I had never heard of Lew Gibb when I downloaded On The Run as part of a promotional bundle. Neither had I ever heard of the Jessica Banks series for which On The Run is the prequel. I go with these promotional bundles because through them I have discovered some talented new writers and some awesome reads. Lew Gibbs was one of those authors and On The Run was one of those reads.
Gibbs had me hooked on the character he created and the story he was telling from the very first page. I couldn’t put this prequel down. I had to keep reading. I had to find out what was going to happen to Crissy next.

Let me say as someone who has been there and done that, the characters that you will meet in this prequel are the real deal. Their actions are so real they could have been the actions of men and women that I knew when working for Uncle Sam.

Fair warning, do not read this prequel unless you are ready to go on and read all the books that follow it. The way this book ends will leave you no choice. I’m now a Jessica Banks fan and a Lew Gibb’s follower..

Another great book by Lew Gibb! I've read all three of his books (he's a new author), and each one has been great. Character development is a highlight.

This one is a prequel to the first book we see Jessica Banks in (Origin), who is a bad-ass martial arts woman on the run from bad people who kidnapped her as a young girl. The prequel talks about how she escaped, and eventually ended up with her Krav Maga instructor David (where Origin starts off).

Anyway, if you like Jessica Banks in Origin, you'll love the back story as presented in On The Run.

I know this was just a short novel with Jessica Banks. Jessica has just escaped from the worst that could happen to a homeless girl. When her parents both died when she was young, she was handed over to a couple to take care of her.

What happens to Jessica being in this environment is unimaginable. She manages to escape, but they are still hunting for her.

Loved this one and excited to read the next..

good read

A real page turner! I did not want it to end! Be ware! It’s a cliffhanger!
Chrissy is held captive by her foster parents and forced into prostitution. She is barely fed or clothed and beaten. With determination, she frees herself from the house she’s held captive in and goes on the run. Can’t wait to read the next book!

A young girl escapes from her "family" who prostituted her out.
She goes on the run and finds a couple of men who train her in martial arts. The story ends with a cliffhanger; one of the men says he s been preparing her! For what? stay tuned.

Seems unfinished

Yes it's a prequel, but it seems very unfinished. It stops at an odd point in the story, in my opinion.. It's very well written, does have swearing in it, if that offends you, its not for you.

Is she Chrissy or Lauren or Jessica? Is she a dumb wh#$%? Is she a skilled Krav Maga self-defense athlete? Is she a poker phenomenon? How does she keep finding guardian angels who provide shelter when she needs it most? This series can go any direction... I might take a look at the next book.

Great prequel. Will check out the series. Good writing. Solid character evolvement in such a short piece.

Good book

This was a good story and left me wanting more. A story that is probably closer to reality than I would like to know.

On the Run

Running from the life that her foster family forced her into. Will she be able to stay free or will they find her and put her back.
