Iron Orchids #13

Roads Traveled

Rate this book
We’ve traveled the road with members of the Iron Orchids, now take a turn into three different stories from characters you’ve met along the way.

Under the Stars
You never know when a decision will put you on the path of destiny-
For George Christakos, it was going to Greece and seeing a living, breathing, goddess.
For Christine Petrakis, it was telling the gorgeous, rebellious, bad boy her name.
Now, the two of them will discover if a summer UNDER THE STARS turns into a love that lasts a lifetime.

Dear Juliet
She was used to taking calls and giving love advice.
Now, she’s taking calls and whispering dirty fantasies.
Only problem is, it's the same caller, every night, all night.

Life of Lemons
Lily, was used to the hard life. She hated her job at the diner, she had a zero bank account, and neighbors who didn’t mind their own business.
Callum McGuire, was used to none of that. In fact, he loved his life, he liked his job, and the sassy woman he met at a roadside diner—life wasn’t what was hard when he thought of her.

Before becoming a romance writer, Danielle was a body double for Heidi Klum and a backup singer for Adele. Now, she spends her days trying to play keep away from Theo James who won’t stop calling her or asking her out.
And all of this happens before she wakes up and faces reality where in fact she is a 50 something mom with grown kids, she's been married longer than Theo’s been alive, and now get her kicks riding a Harley.
As far as her body, she can thank, Ben & Jerry’s for that as well as gravity and vodka. But she says that she could never be Adele’s backup since she never stops saying the F-word long enough to actually sing.
Danielle writes about kickass women with even better shoes and the men that try to tame them (silly silly men).

I had already read Under the Stars, so I didn't re-read it this time around.

Dear Juliet -
This one was really short, but good. I was glad that Greyson got rid of the boss right away. Was a bit unsure of him calling into the show, but glad that he outed himself quickly to Juliet. You can only imagine how the rest of that meeting went!

Life of Lemons -
Another short one, but good. I liked how these two met, liked that Callum could see past Lily's job and house to the real person and I liked that Lily didn't have walls up. I can only imagine how things go from here for them.

My Christmas List -
This one was short too, but I didn't care for it and don't remember the couple's names. I really had a hard time buying into how fast things went, especially when we learned that he had hired a woman to build her a wardrobe for a year. That was really creepy for me.

First of All.... OMG loved this book !!

Finding out how George and Christine met and fell in love was so fantastic.
Love at first sight is alive and well in Greece. lol
I'm so glad I got to be at the start of here journey.

Juliet and Greyson in the second story of the book was so funny and wonderful.
Her as a radio talk show host and he as the owner the station.
When he starting calling into her show as Michael and asking her about fantasies.LOL

The third part of the books was fantastic. Lily and Callum so far make a wonderful story, I'm hoping to read more about them in a future book

Thanks Danielle for letting us back into your world

This is a nice compilation of three stories from the author combined for readers’ pleasure. There is one full length work and two novellas and each one has its own charm. My favorite is the first story, Under the Stars, and it delves into the beginning of Christine and George. It is so heartfelt and a throwback to an age gone by where loyalty and family were everything. Wild child George was sent to the birthplace of his family, Greece, in order to help him become a man. Little did he know what was in store for him that would shake his foundation to the core. Christine is a beautiful, young woman growing up amid her parents and brothers in the exquisite country of Greece where she was taught the value of what it means to be nurturing and compassionate. When Christine and George first lay eyes on each other, their chemistry is palpable. The more time they spend together, the more their feelings grow. However, George is an outsider and no matter how well he does, it seems as if the rest of the group will not give him the benefit of the doubt. When a romantic evening with Christine takes an unexpected turn, where will it leave the two of them? Ms. Norman did a masterful job recreating the emotions of a bygone era and the feelings of first love. Once you start this story, you will be hard-pressed to put it down. I highly recommend this one. The second story is Dear Juliet and it is not my favorite out of the three. Juliet is an on-air relationship counselor who helps those struggling with personal issues. Grayson is the new owner of the radio station and Juliet’s boss to whom she is attracted. See what happens when a “secret caller” has Juliet go off air. The third story is Life of Lemons and this brings readers Callum and Lily. This is one love at first sight story that will pull you in as the relationship between these two grows. I volunteered to read a copy of this book.

Danielle Norman has been one of my favourite authors since I first read Ariel, Always Enough when it was first released. Her books contain strong heroines that can and do look out for themselves and each other, and the men they fall in love with, that make them stronger. This is Danielle Norman at her very best, containing 3 amazing Iron Orchids stories of beloved old and new characters.

Under the Stars:
This story takes us back to where it all began. George and Christine Christakos are the ultimate couple, the parents of some of our beloved characters from the previous Iron Orchids books. This story introduces us to how George and Christine met and how they came to be such a united force. The whole way through this book, I was reading with a huge smile on my face, as this couple is everything you hope and wish for in your own relationship. It’s beautiful to see the person you can be when you find your other half.

Dear Juliet:
I loved this short and sweet, steamy story. Juliet and Grayson meet and fall in love on the radio. Each and every interaction as they are getting to know one another is fun, flirty and everything good about Danielle’s writing.

Life of Lemons
Another short and sassy story of Callum, who we’re met in previous stories and Lilly, a new kick butt heroine. This was an insta-love story that will have you smiling and laughing the whole way through, and I hope we get a longer story for this pair, in the future.

As always, Danielle knocked it out of the park with this collection. I can’t wait for more.

Under the stars…. George is being sent to Greece by his father to learn respect, hard work and loyalty. Mainly to get him to calm down and grow up. Christine lives in Greece with her family and has one more year of school left. After church one day her friends drag her to the docks to see the American boy come into town. George and Christine are smitten the first time they lay eyes on each other. Even though their worlds are different they want the same things. Can George be the man Christine needs. This book was so amazing. I could not put it down. Great to read how the series all starts.

Dear Juliet… Juliet works for a radio station giving out vice on sex and relationships. When the new station owner shows up she at a loss for words hes just that sexy. She starts getting calls every night and loves talking to Michael. But as time goes she realizes Michael is Grayson the sexy station owner. Amazing short story.

Life of Lemons…. Lily works at the diner and meets Callum there. Hes a detective working on a case there. He cant stop thinking about the cute waitress. This is a great short story with suspense that will keep you reading till the end. Love seeing how the characters got their starts.

This book contains four different short stories. Three of which contain stories about, the different branches of, the Christakos. One out of the four I liked.

Under the Sun 4🌟🌟🌟🌟

This story is about George and Christine Christakos beginning as a couple. How their romance began, in Greece and how it almost shattered there also.

This is a very sweet romance and a time of personal growth.

Life of Lemons 2🌟🌟

I was disappointed with this story. After reading all the stories about the siblings, this was anticlimactic. Callum plays such a big part in a lot of the stories that I was waiting for something... More.

There was no lead into a real romance. Or any rhyme or reason as to how they would even fit and stay together. Or have in common.

The Christmas List 2🌟🌟

This is a story about, Alex Christakos he is the owner of Christakos Shipping. And his, PA Ella is a woman who doesn't get paid enough to put up with him.

This story just seemed a little too cheesy to me. Alex seems to be over-compensating for his bad behavior. Ella seems too forgiving after a year of horrible verbal abuse. Not my cup of tea.

Dear Juliet

Roads Traveled is a fast read filled with Danielle Norman's signature humor and steam. The first story, Under the Stars, is my favorite. It gives us a glimpse of where it all started for the Iron Orchids gang, with young love taking root between George and Christine.
Dear Juliet is short, but more steamy than sweet. Juliet and Greyson were drawn to each other from their first encounter and it was full steam ahead for the couple after Juliet discovers who her secret caller really is.
Life of Lemons had the taste of suspense that I love in a good romance. Calum and Lily met through a series of tricky situations, but still felt a pull to one another.
I got sucked into each story and would love more!

Fabulous Read. The author has given us 3 wonderful romance stories in one book. If you’ve kept up with the Iron Orchids series, you will have been at least one of the main characters in each story. What Ms. Norman has done for us true Iron Orchid lovers, is taken 3 of the sub-characters in the series and given them their own romantic story and this reader simply loved them. It was great to see these characters get their own HEA told in true Danielle Norman fashion. These heartwarming stories had me smiling throughout with a laugh or two thrown in as well.

A Huge Thank You to the author for not forgetting the little guys and giving us their stories - it was an awesome treat. 2 Thumbs and 5+ Stars.

This anthology has ALL the FEELS! This trilogy of love stories was everything I needed for a fabulous weekend of relaxing and reading. The first story with George & Christine tells how the Christakos family saga began. Their love for each other is truly epic and had me swooning with them every step of the way. And that love is carried on by each of their sons in future Iron Orchids books. In the second book Juliet finds her true love and it’s as sweet and sticky as caramel candy. Callum & Lily complete this anthology with a thrilling tale of crazy happenings and coming together. I love that this novel gave me three treats in one read.

Roads Traveled is a heart squeezing addition to the iron Orchids Books. You will just love the three stories featured in this one. You start at the beginning with the patriarch of the Christakos family. You will love George and Christine so much more after reading their love story. You are swept away by Juliet and Greyson as they burn up the airways. Then there is Lily and Callum that will just give you heart squeezes. Each story just gives you those gooey feels as you learn how strong each love is and the meet cutes too. Road Traveled takes you on this fantastic journey of love that you will not be able to put down. I loved every couple.

Roads Traveled is a snapshot into life. Norman brings into focus the happiness, the heartache, the humor and hope that we gain as we navigate down this uncharted road. Through the eyes of love we learn life lessons, gain insight and open our hearts and minds to all the possibilities. Under the Stars is a chance to revisit old friends and explore what happens next. Dear Juliet is tale of chance that has lasting results. Life of Lemons is a story of hope. Lily and Callum hit me in the heart with a vengeance and never looked back. Hard to resist. Easy to love. Impossible to forget.

I have been a Danielle Norman fan for awhile now and, without fail, her books are always amazing!

Roads Traveled is a collection of books with characters we’ve met throughout the Iron Orchids world.

You get to meet the OGs of the Chistakos clan and read their love story, and meet some of the extended family over in Greece.

The quick, but steamy, story of Juliet and her workplace romance.

Finally, one of the beloved characters, Callum McGuire, gets his happily ever after with a feisty woman who will fit perfectly in with Stella!

It was great to read the stories of how everyone came to be. Loved George and Christine's beginnings. Lilly and Callum, Lilly's life was hard and she worked hard for everything she had. But Callum liked that about her. Juliet takes calls and gives love advice, but one guy called every night. She didn't know who he was, but she was about to find out. I love the series and it was fun finding out how their lives started. HEA.

As always I loved this little book of shorts. Having already read Christines story I loved it all over again. Getting to know the others who I've met in a small way in other books but never really got to know was great. My only issue is that the stories are too short. I really want to deep dive into the characters but I know that I'll see them again soon in Danielle's other books as family and friends move through stories. Hey it's Danielle's world and we all are lucky to vicariously live in it.

(4 stars)

So for anyone that didn't read Christine, The Stars or as my kindle has it Under the Stars, this book is a must but if you had read George and Christine's story already, then just FYI, that's the bulk of the three stories. The other two are cute short little feel good blips. For me, I was a bit disappointed that this was not really a "new" story. But I did enjoy the reread and the two shorts that came after. I give this 4 stars.

These stories were brilliant. I loved the fact that we got 3 stories in this book. Each one was brilliant in its own right and together they made for fantastic reading. I hope we get to read more about the last two sets of characters in future books as really we only got a slight glimpse of how brilliant they were.

Three great stories about finding love.
The first one Under the Stars
Short sweet book about how George and Christine meet. When your a rebel and don’t want to obey your parents what happens? You get set to stay with family in Greece. Now George has to get up and go “work” every day. Then he sees a beautiful girl and wants to get to know her. How can he make that happened?

Second one Dear Juliet
What happens when you have a radio show to give advice and you get a new owner? The guy is gorgeous and wants to change things. Can Juliet handle it?

Third one Life of Lemons
So what happens when life hands you lemons? Lily works in a diner and Callum comes in to get some food. He wants to get to know Lily. He is an undercover cop and gets a call. Of course Lily puts herself at risk when she can’t listen to Callum. When lily gets in trouble can Callum find her?
