It’s in the Woods!!! Alan was terrified. Hearing a rustle in the bushes behind him, he spun around and caught sight of the shadowy, blurry movement in the trees, just as he had before. But this time, the THING was surging towards him! When three friends set out into the woods to make a short film, they immediately find themselves lost. Soon they come face-to-face with strange and baffling encounters that send them on an epic and scary adventure, only to find out that there's more at stake than they could ever imagine...THE MADNESS TREE is the second story in the SHADOWS, TRESS & ODD MYSTERIES (STOM) series. It follows the mysterious myths, odd occurrences, and terrifying tales that revolve around the little-known Naynab trees. From haunted woods and forests, to bizarre events, and sinister secrets, this is an adventure story that will have readers riveted.Written for fans of mystery and fantasy, the STOM series can be described as a mix of Hardy Boys + Coraline + Stranger Things + Indiana Jones — in an imaginative new setting, and combining excitingly unique story themes. The series also touches upon themes of friendship, handling change, relationships, natural conservation, and our relationship with our environment and our planet. AN INTERVIEW WITH THE So, what is the Shadows, Trees & Odd Mysteries (STOM) series about? “The STOM series chronicles the perilous journeys of our heroes in their quest to find the significance of the strange Naynab trees. Making shocking discoveries along the way, they come face-to-face with evil men, strange creatures, supernatural beings, time travel, and a dangerous fight for survival — not only of their own, but, indeed, of the entire world itself.” How should the books be read? “While each of the first three titles can be read as standalone books, the entire story-line in the STOM series is staggered into three One about a ten-year-old boy called ODDY and his GRANDPA, in the story the Ghosts in the Trees; and another about three friends — ALAN, MAYA AND PHUDY, who stumble upon strange occurrences around them, in title the Madness Tree. Both these stories take place in the present time. The third story-line is different in that, it comprises of written accounts kept by an explorer, who lived in the late eighteenth century, called REM NAMDLIV and his discoveries surrounding — you guessed it — the Naynab trees.”“All three story-lines are, however, connected; Upcoming titles will reveal their convergence. Inspired by nature and the incredible world we live in, the STOM series is a fantasy mystery series (the author calls it, earth-fiction), with dashes of folklore, action, adventure, and bone-chilling horror." (Find out more at www.malcolmfernandesbooks.com) Who are these books ideally for? “This series is written for middle-graders and younger readers (8 and up), and anyone who likes family-friendly fantasy mixed with a ton of mystery and adventure. I like to think of the STOM series as Hardy Boys meets Coraline meets Indiana Jones, with multiple time-lines and characters.” How many books are there in the series? “There are 3 books in the series, currently, with more titles soon to come. There are also 3 coloring books in the series (also available right here on Amazon) that each have spin-off storylines and, coloring quests/ puzzles that are written to really compliment the books in a way that is unique and encourages creativity.
