Working for billionaire Colton Knox is both a blessing and a curse. A blessing because the guy is a great boss. I'd been flown all over the world on his private jet and seen places I could only dream about, all on his dime. I'd met kings and queens, rubbed elbows with the socially elite, and been gifted with bonuses that would make most people swoon with envy. It's a curse because my boss is drop dead, catch your breath, gorgeous from the top of his six foot three inch blond head to the bottom of his perfectly formed feet. He has vivid blue eyes and a cocky grin that brought mortal men and women to their knees. And he is woefully, horribly straight. When someone attacks me in a bid to get to Knox, my life changes in ways I never could have imagined. When Knox announces to the world that he's gay and we're engaged, I don't know whether to strangle him or run for cover. My anger wars with my desire for the sexy man. I deserve better and Knox can't have me until he can prove this isn't just a publicity stunt.
About Me I believes the only thing sexier than a man in cowboy boots is two, or three men in cowboy boots. I also believes in love at first sight, soul mates, true love, and happy endings.
I live in the great Northwest region of the USA, with my gorgeous husband and soul mate, two boxer/collie puppies, one old biddy cats, and three fish. When I'm not being a mother to my six teenagers or cleaning up after my two 70 pound lap puppies, you can usually find me cuddled in bed with a book in my hand and a puppy in my lap. Or on my laptop, creating the next sexy man for one of my stories.

5(ish), 4, 3, 2, 1 star! This book went from sugar to shit in less than 50 pages. I’m flabbergasted that this story made it to publishing. It sort of had a slow burn/slow sexual awakening vibe (to me) going at the beginning. Then we get tossed into All My Children + Dallas campy soaps territory with a story arc that’s so ridiculous, I find it difficult to believe that someone didn’t step up and say this story needed to be scrapped. Maybe that’s what the author was going for, but that crap didn’t work for me. Uggg what a waste of my hard earned money.
I'm not completely convinced that Knox fell in love with Newt. I don't know, I just don't see it. Not enough chemistry for me. And I don't like the intro. Too much telling, not enough showing.
This book really bothered me, mostly in how the subject matter was handled. Characters were just declaring themselves gay left and right without any thoughtful development or sensitivity to it. The MC was not realistic or likable, he felt like a caricature of a clueless, entitled, rich guy who was not relatable for me at all. The entire development of this story was forced and unnatural. I would not recommend.
Ok.

I never write reviews, but I will write to tell you not to spend your money on this book. It is too expensive for the quality and length and should offered on Kindle Unlimited. It starts off pretty promising, but two seconds later it turns out that MC is gay, his best friends are gay, all of his employees are gay...?? I understand this is a set up for the rest of the series but it didn’t work for this book. He goes from zero romantic feelings for his assistant to proposing to him with no rhyme or reason at all? This book seriously has me confused and dumbfounded.

This was a kindle recommendation - not a goodreads recommendation (the first thing I did wrong)... and to add injury to insult I actually forked over my hardish earned cash for this. FFS.
I started highlighting every bit that made my toes curl with cringey awfulness, but soon got bored of that. But I couldn’t stop reading. It was so bad. Like watching a car crash. I rubbernecked this dreadful story. I skipped a bunch toward the end - and it’s a short book - but that’s still a couple of hours of my life I’ll never get back
Since when is raping underage girls considered a “sexual kink” WTF with this book, SERIOUSLY! also I don’t know about other people up but I don’t know my STATE senators name, let alone who the hell their kids are. So I get a billionaire being watched by the press, but the author kept dropping that he’s also a STATE senators son. Like who cares that give no one fame. This book was gross and so is the author. Middle finger toyoun
This is my first time reading a book by this author, and I have to say that I wasn’t expecting much. I’ve had bad experiences with books like this, the typical Cinderella story, with the billion or millionaire and the poor to middle class partner. So I thought It’d be just one of those books where they just don’t stop declaring how much money the rich guy has, and all the things he can do and does with all his money and how immensely lucky the poor or average middle class partner, is to have the love of such incredible person, which is safe to say, I find incredibly ridiculous. *THERE MAY BE SOME SPOILERS AHEAD* (I apologize, I’ll try to be as ambiguous as possible). Thank goodness, this book is not like this. The main characters are so cute together and I really like that Knox didn’t go throwing his money around to get Newton’s love. I did find it a little unfair that Newton risked his life, not only once, for Knox and didn’t get the recognition he deserved, but seeing Newton so happy at the end made the indignation go away. Also, yes, there were some unrealistic parts in the book, absolutely. The biggest one being towards the end, when the two main characters were intimate for the first time; I just thought that for a guy who thought himself straight all his life, and had a woman in his bed just two week prior, Knox was way too comfy in that situation. However, this is after all, a work of fiction and I didn’t expect anything to be realistic. I actually really appreciated that the author didn’t try to incorporate many real life aspects to the book, and didn’t set the story on a real time and place. They didn’t even mention the city or country where the characters live. The author did mentioned París and Tahiti, but just as business and recreational places and I’m fine with that. Now, I am hopping that the next book and maybe upcoming books in this series are as good as this one because I will definitely continue reading from this author.
Nope. For a second I actually forgot I’d read this book, but as I kept going, it all came back to me—yeah, I had read it before.
The truth is that I remember a very different story. I would even dare to say that I liked it a lot back then (don’t ask me why, because now I seriously can’t see it). Reading it again was a whole different experience, and not in a good way. I couldn’t enjoy it or connect with the characters at all. The concept itself isn’t bad, but the way it plays out? Meh.
It feels like the book was made to be consumed quickly (since it took me less than two hours to read), the “romance” between the main characters comes out of nowhere. Like, one day they wake up and realized they were deeply in love with the other... Zero build-up, zero tension.
And what really threw me off was how one of them just assumed the other would accept his “love” confession simply because the guy was already into him. That lack of communication was just… ugh 😤 major eye-roll moment.
So yeah, I don’t think I’ll be picking up the next books in the series, even though I was curious about the side characters’ stories.
I was a medical editor for many years. This story could do with a whole lot of editing grammatically, at least. The story is good but it definitely could use an editor’s touch to make it easier to read. If you would like me to edit any future stories/books, just let me know! Ron
Knox live his entire life as straight man so when he suddenly admits he has a special feeling like love to Newton, it looks superficial and not believable since there's no indications that Knox is attracted to Newton, at all.
Love the concept. The storyline needed a bit more development though. Also, a proofreader would be a good idea as there were way too many grammatical errors.
Naw.....didn't buy that Knox was gay for Newt, or that he even fell in love with him. Knox never noticed Newt before and took him for granted. Just not convincing enough.
Rating: 2.5 stars While I enjoyed the story overall, I had a major problem with the fact that Knox identified as straight before the events of the story. His sudden love for Newt didn’t really make sense in the context of the story and I didn’t really buy into their love affair.
