The final chapter in the Archangel Project Series.
Beyond the borders of known space a Dark Fleet is gathering...
Volka, 6T9, Carl Sagan, and their band of sentient faster-than-light ships are charged with finding the Dark's forces. But the enemy is closer than they realize, and the Dark's next strike will be sooner than they think.
When the attack comes our heroes will be forced to evolve once more. Volka has become a true telepath. To fight the Dark, she must become a true leader as well. 6T9 is capable of destruction with a machine's lack of remorse. He must learn when to stay his hand...not just to save humanity, but to keep the woman he loves.
They must succeed, because the Dark has been evolving too. Carefully. Methodically. And it will stop at nothing short of the extinction of the human race.
C. Gockel got her start writing fanfiction, and she is not ashamed! Much. She received emails, messages and reviews from her fans telling her she should 'do this professionally'. She didn't; because she is a coward and life as a digital designer, copywriter and coder is more dependable. But in the end, her husband's nagging wore her down: "You could be the next '50 Shades of Gray' and I could retire!" Unfortunately, the author isn't much for writing smut. She is sad about this; she'd love for her husband to be able to retire and just work for her so she could nag him.
At the moment, Ms. Gockel is working on the next installment of her Archangel Project series.

Quite the finale to this nine book series. Done and over it is. No more for this series.
You really need to bring your funny bone to this Sci Fi. The characters are delightful. Weeres, human-like, but a keen wolf resides in there. "The One" who can occupy any animal form. Telepathic they are. Sentient, faster than light space ships. The sex bot, 6T9, who becomes android general #1, and many others. And classic politics, which make you hate governments in any form.
I’m sad it’s over and will miss Volka, 6T9, Noa, James and everyone. This series had a great beginning and HEA at the end. I actually laughed out loud often and nearly cried at times, lump in the throat and everything. Great story development, fascinating ( but at time predictable), twists and turns. And Very Little typos!!! An author that knows her grammar and has great editors. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS Can’t wait for the next generation:)
This the end of Sixty and Volka’s story and it is one that is full of action. Right from the beginning you are pulled in with the politics of the different planets and Time Gates. Then you have the Dark taking over more and more of the worlds. Even though the idea of the Dark and their infection started way before Covid19 did, you can see some similarities between the two. Except the Dark is a thinking organism and not a virus.
Volka and Sixty are working together with the One to destroy the Dark before it takes over the entire galaxy. They are still trying to figure each other out and both want this to be over so they can live their lives. Volka is in charge of the Skimmers and that does not sit well with those in the Republic. They are not happy with her ability, in fact, they fear her. But Volka and Sixty have to go to Time Gate 11’s planet and they are being welcomed in a way that makes them think that they are going to kept there as a prisoners. They cannot believe that this world wants them as to just stay and be a part of their community.
Love the side story about Noa and James. She is over 140 years old and he is an android so will not die. They have been in love for almost as long as she has been alive. It was very interesting to see their story.
This story does come to closure for all of the major characters but of course, there are other minor characters that could take on a life of their own like FET12, Bracelet and TAB. The ending of the story is one that ties up a lot of lose ends and you are left with a good feeling about the characters. I cannot say any more or it would spoil the story.
I really didn't like the ending. I got lost with all the battles, not really following the narrative thread. And then, bang, it's all over. Mind you we've been building towards this finale for at least 4 books, and it's over in a sentence. That didn't work for me.
I did like how the the different human cultures began to see each other's strengths and weaknesses in different ways (vague sentence, I'm trying to avoid spoilers, but in essence, initially each side was sure there's was the only right way, and by the end, of our heroes, none were sure of much - which is what makes them heroes worth spending time with! ) But I was disappointed that we didn't get to live with Sixty and Volka together. That emotional tension was pulled way too hard and too long.
All in all, a solid B series. Good to spend time with but not amazing, like some series can be. And really did need a stronger editorial eye. Some facts were repeated ad nauseum, and that space could have been spent better explaining some other subtleties. In the end what is family (found families being a theme in so many books) and what is human (most of the characters were a bit more , or even totally alien) was explored against a backdrop of interstellar war and nearly omniscient computer gates.
Wow! Just when I thought it couldn't get more intense, it does. Volka, 6T9 and Sundancer are still fighting to save the galaxy. Now they have help in unexpected places. Will two opposing sides be able to move past their differences (and their pasts) to work together towards a common goal? In this final book in the series (one you'll want to read in order), we see Alaric and Alexis, Noa and James, Carl and Shiss, among others. The question is will they be able to find the home base of the Dark, and a way to take them out, before it's too late. Danger and opposition comes at them from many sides, some unexpected, but together they find a way... Never thought I'd be crying for robots, but there were moments where I got a little teary-eyed thinking the worst was about to come. C Gockel has a way of bringing all her characters in this sci-fi realm to life where they all seem real and believable. But there are also hints to current world issues woven throughout. I enjoyed seeing all the characters grow in their own ways and a chance at HEA for Volka and 6T9. Sorry to see this series come to an end.
I don’t usually like to write reviews. I guess I’m shy. But I’m so in love with this series that I needed to express it, and to say goodbye now that it’s over.
Each character is so distinctive, lovable, deep and funny. Hilarious and often heart wrenching dialogue. World building that is both believable and awe inspiring. READ IT!
I love see the characters grow and evolve. Volka, 6T9, Alaric and Alexis, James and Noa, Silas, Neo, Sundancer, the werfles all encounter challenges that promote their growth. Amazing story arc. Even The Dark offers surprises. I sincerely hope the author revisits these characters, I cannot get enough of the. Highly recommended. Amazing.
As wars go this one is a war against evil, or is it? Many different beings learning to get on, but not all. Some developing, some working together to save the universe against a deadly enemy. Great characters, all with a surprise up their sleeves. Nice to read a book that goes past the end giving you a peek into our characters possible future.
I am so glad to see the culmination of Sixty and Volka’s relationship. I would enjoy reading anything that would continue taking a peek into their lives. Please give them more than one child.
I’m so sad to think this is the last of 6T9, Villa, and all the gang. But this has been a wonderful series. It is not over for good, these stories have become old friends. And I’m sure I will revisit them many times.
This series started out fairly serious, got a bit silly in the middle, and came to a fairly serious conclusion that tied everything together. Overall, I enjoyed the whole set of books, and the fact that the writing matured book by book.
Wow I’m breathless after this series. There’s lots of action and great characters. My one criticism is the editing is sloppy. There are a lot of word use and punctuation errors. More beta readers might help with that before publication.
I was disappointed in this book. It was okay, but, after reading six books, I really wanted a better conclusion. The external enemy plot is tied up (in a very deus ex machina manner), but the internal struggles of the main characters really aren’t dealt with. And I won’t give any details so there are no spoilers, but I really didn’t like the tacked on end sequence.
Note: This is the ninth and final book in the series. You have to read books four through eight before this.
