The steamy conclusion to Skye Jordan's Wildfire Lake series.
I knew the day we met, Chloe Hart wasn't a woman you fuck and forget. She's the kind of women men dream about--hotter than sin and sweeter than sugar. Her last lover scarred her heart, and despite our wicked chemistry, she's got me locked in the friend zone.
She can try to ignore the heat between us, but I'm not going away. I transferred here to support my goddaughter through her teens after her father--my partner--was killed in the line of duty. And this kid is as good at finding trouble as Chloe is at sidelining me.
When Chloe's ex shows up for the lake resort's first big retreat, things shift on a dime. Without a second thought, I step in, publicly claiming her as mine.
It seems like a harmless lie in the moment, but when one lie creates another, which creates another, the truth unravels, threatening everything I've come to love.
4.5 “Listen To Your Heart” stars! (ARC provided by Cygnet Books)
-I’ve come to believe without question that everything happens for a reason and wherever we are in life is exactly where we’re meant to be.
Chloe Hart is a woman who has traveled all over the world, but recently put down roots with her two best friends in the small town of Wildfire, California. She's well known for her reputation as a spiritual teacher who draws people from every walk of life. She's all about energy, purpose, inner joy and peace, and strives to help guide others to be the best version of themselves. As a meditation and yoga guru she's dedicated to her work and believes in healing from within. After suffering a broken heart, she's put everything she has into completely reinventing herself, and learning to be happy and fulfilled on her own. She's done a lot of soul searching and is now an independent, successful woman living life on her own terms finding happiness without a man.
Xavier Wilde is a police officer in Wildfire who has his sights set on Chloe, and keeps trying to take things to the next level. Unfortunately he's been friend zoned, and isn't sure how to get her to see him as more. He desperately wants her to be his, but can't seem to get past all her barriers. He's been crazy about her since the day they met, and is just wanting her to realize what he's known all along, that they are meant to be.
Xavier's friendship means everything to Chloe, but she continues to try and fight their attraction and explosive chemistry. He's gorgeous, playful, charming and kind, but the last thing she needs is a player. As their connection grows and his devastating smiles get to her, wanting him terrifies her. They share an undeniable bond, but will she allow herself to trust her heart again?
-There's a yearning between us. There's also a certain level of trust, friendship, maybe even infatuation.
-"I want you," he says. "I want you in a way I've never wanted anyone."
Swept Away (Wildfire Lake, #3) by Skye Jordan is the steamy conclusion to the Wildfire Lake series. It's a flirty, passionate, emotional friends to lovers standalone romance about taking chances and following your heart. I really enjoyed this entire series!
Drawn in by the beautiful storyline, loveable characters, and the consumable desire, Skye Jordan so effortlessly and delicately brings closure for these characters, as well as the readers. With the depth and growth of this group of friends, we have grown to love throughout this series, we could not have asked for more to such a fulfilling conclusion.
After a recent heartbreak, a girl’s weekend turns into a new beginning. Casting a shadow on the possibility of love, Chloe finds herself struggling to keep her vow, when she meets the handsome Xavier. Determined to keep him in the friend zone, an irresistible proposition from Xavier stirs a battle within her heart.
With a well known reputation as the town’s playboy, Xavier can’t seem to convenience the one lady his heart craves. However, when she accepts his proposal, lines are blurred and emotions unleashed. Will they be able to find the happiness they so desperately seek? Or will words left unspoken ultimately lead to heartache?
Swept Away was an excellent close to such a heartwarming series. A series that you just don’t want to miss! Skye Jordan we are looking forward to seeing what next you have in store!
Many thanks to Skye Jordan for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I was fortunate enough to receive this through NetGalley. I haven't read a Skye Jordan book in some time so I'm glad I got this opportunity. I will say that this was the first book I read in this series and was able to follow along fine however now I NEED to read the first two because I loved all of the characters so much I want all of their stories. Xavier and Chloe are a bit of a slow burn with lots of resistance due to Chloe's belief that Xavier is a player only Xavier knows that he's only playing the other women in town until Chloe moves him out of the friend zone. Xavier's kind of perfect and he's a cop so all was right in my world while reading. lol Chloe is a badass in her own right. Business owner with multiple platforms and outlets only with a jaded heart from her ex. I loved their journey and once their relationship shifts from friends to lovers it's really sweet, a lot spicy and so much fun.

What’s this book about? (I'm trying to give as little spoilers as possible) Conclusion to Skye Jordan’s Wildfire Series. Chloe can’t allow herself to trust before she heals from her heartbreak first. Xavier firmly believes that he’s the one for Chloe, but he has to convince Chloe of that fact, too.
I’ve loved every book of this series, and the more I read, the more I’m invested in these three main ladies. The portrayal of their strong friendship means everything to me. Chloe is a businesswoman, one can say. She’s got her life set up, but she’s endured heartbreak just recently. She wants to recover slowly, but somebody is pushing her forward… I loved her relatability and her calm nature. Xavier is an attractive man, and those are FACTS. Plus, he seems to be caring and loving, too. And, well, patience is a trait that’s rare in most book men (or real men LOL), but he was patient. He tried. At least. LOL. Wildfire Lake was a lovely universe to spend time in. I recommend this book to lovers of character growth, slow-burn, and a whole lot of chemistry.
ORIGINAL COMMENT My fav remains Going Under, but this was a sweet little journey to trusting and happiness in this universe. I love the friendship between the three leading ladies of this universe.
Swept Away is Book 3 of Skye Jordan’s Wildfire Lake Series and left me feeling all kinds of crazy, sexy thoughts and kept me up till 3am so that I could get the happily ever after ending, I desperately needed for Xavier and Chloe. What an absolutely amazing friends to lovers, fake relationship romance read this book was.
Xavier is a dedicated police officer. Between his good looks and the uniform, no woman, young or old, stands a chance. Not one to commit, he plays the field, happily and liberally until her. Chloe is a phenomenal woman. Talented, beautiful and full of entrepreneurial spirit. She is a force to be reckoned with. These two beautiful people meet and it’s instant chemistry but destined to remain under wraps because of poor timing, so the two become friends.
Both Xavier and Chloe are lying to themselves when they think that what’s between them is simple friendship. In a time of need, Xavier steps in and pretends to be her boyfriend. Things go from fake to real very quickly but not without painful complications and lots of self discovery. I was absolutely taken in by the changes in both main characters and watching them morph from friends to lovers, to partners, to each other’s forevers, made this a fantastic Five Plus Star read. I fell totally in love with both Xavier and Chloe and their happily ever after made my book loving heart happy.
Swept Away gets the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval, TBR and Enjoy!
P.S. Skye, I’m not a huge fan of friends to lovers romances but this book has made me change my tune - Thank you for that.
Great conclusion to this triolgy. Xavier and Chloe finally get together after tip toeing around each other for a year. Lots of visit from the previous couples. There was no real resolution to the drama with his goddaughter. The drama with her ex was underwhelming, I was expecting a lot more.
2.5 star. I didn`t feel like the characters developed much, because at one moment Chloe seemed to dislike him and then suddenly she didn`t? They ended up too quickly in the bed and were all lovey dovey and Xavier was stressed about Piper but attacking Chloe for no reason was too harsh. But i liked some parts of it and in the book Chloe was ok. Piper i think, had most character development and i really liked her in the end.
I've been dying to read Chloe and Hot Cops story and it was everything I thought it would be and more.
Of the 3 best friends, Chloe is the mellow one. The yoga doing, meditating, thoughtful friend. They meet Xavier the first night at Wildfire Lake and Chloe shoots him down hard. This story explains that her ex cheated on her and demolished her self esteem. She knows Xavier is a player and she doesn't want another broken heart so she keeps him firmly in the friend zone where he belongs.
That works for her until her ex shows up in town and Xavier pretends to be her boyfriend to get him to stay away. She still keeps him at arms length but her walls are crumbling and she's not ready for what he's offering. She might not ever be ready. But he's gonna wear her down, one way or another.
I have been waiting for Chloe and Xavier’s story since book one! These two have such undeniable chemistry and a great friendship. Chloe and Xavier (Z) are both such strong leads who have been through alot and are such a great balance for one another. This was a slow burn that turns into a burning ball of fire once Chloe gives into the attraction and chemistry! Once they did finally give in I was swooning the entire rest of the book. This book was sweet, spicy and such an easy read. If you are looking for something that you can easily read in one sitting, like I did, this is something you should pick up! This is a great story, with memorable characters, lots of emotions and was a great way to finish off this series.

Avid Reader – ☆☆☆☆ M/F Romance
I really love these women. They are honest, true to themselves, and really fun to read. You should definitely read the previous books, as it helps you understand the relationships among the women and men in these stories.
This is Chloe's story. She is a yogi, author, and amazing businesswoman who wants to help others overcome their own heartbreak. She helps others find their true selves. With her best friends, she is opening up a great business. Her past has pushed her forward with finding herself and she doesn't want to look back. With great friends and a great town, Chloe is happy with her life.
Xavier knows who he wants, but he also knows that she has placed him firmly in the friend zone. Despite that, he isn't going to give up. When he sees an opportunity to help Chloe out with a situation, he jumps at it.
With Xavier's family issues, Chloe's ex, and friends who just want what's best for you, Xavier and Chloe will have to learn to trust each other, lean on others, and find their truths in order to figure out if they can be who they want and find happiness together. It's a very sweet story with some spicy aspects. You'll love these women and be sad to see this series end.
Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆ This is the final book in the series – I have just read all three in a row, which has been such a perfect way to use up a long weekend! I enjoyed being transported into the company of three strong women who bonded over an almost tragedy, and now join together in Wildfire and find a whole new direction to their lives. The place is fabulous, the locals are hilarious, and now that the resort is about to open, the trio of best friends have to decide what happens in their long-term future.
Chloe is nursing a broken heart – her ex cheated on her and damaged her self-esteem. She lives her life openly and supports others through her self-help book, so she is very raw and closed to a new relationship. Xavier, the new in town police officer, has been making it very clear that he is interested, but she chooses to avoid him. This story breaks down the boundaries, gives us a clear view of her horrible, self-obsessed ex, and has us absolutely cheering along Xavier in his mission to make Chloe a part of his life.
I loved the crazy of the resort's first event. The arrogance of the man who has booked the event, and the revelation to Chloe that not all men are so self-absorbed. And Z's god-daughter is an important foil as Chloe starts to see what really does bring her happiness.
I really enjoyed this trilogy and would highly recommend it to you – it is fun, sexy, sweet, and completely pulled me away from the everyday, which was very welcome.

Swept Away is the third and last book in Skye Jordan’s Wildfire Lake series and it features Chloe, the yoga instructor/self help guru and Xavier, a local police officer who have had a nice friendship going on since Chloe moved to Wildfire Lake.
First off, I’ll put it out there that I liked both of these characters. I appreciated getting to know Chloe a bit better, she’s hasn’t been heavily featured in the other two books, but I really would have loved to know more about her childhood, teen and young adult years because that made her into the person she is today. I have enjoyed this series, but I’ve felt the character development in all the books have been lacking which has been a disappointment.
Xavier is a nice guy, he moved to town to be closer to his goddaughter, Piper, and her mother after his partner was killed. I may have missed this in earlier books and it wasn’t explained here, but I can’t figure out why Piper’s mother moved them to this small town but continued to work in Santa Barbara basically ditching her teenage daughter all the time?? Xavier has pursued Chloe since they first met over a year ago but she was still reeling from a bad breakup from a serial cheater and in a self imposed celibacy, so he settled for friendship and continued sexing up women all over town which again I couldn’t figure out when he was trying to get with Chloe and he knew she was trying to get over a cheater. I really liked Xavier, I think he was a stand up guy and judging how the women he’d been with were happy for him when they found out he was committed to Chloe proves to me he treated the women right, but still could he really not venture out of town for companionship or use his hand or something? I just felt like he was flaunting his player status all over town while trying to win a wounded woman’s heart.
Both Chloe and Xavier made some mistakes and when you add in the stress of Chloe’s ex arriving for a seminar at her and her other friend’s resort, I felt like their relationship wasn’t fully developed. I was happy they finally got together, I loved that Chloe began to realize she could open herself up to another relationship, I enjoyed seeing Xavier fall head over heels, but I needed to see a deeper connection between them especially given Chloe’s spirituality.
I enjoyed Swept Away and was very satisfied with the way this book and the series ended, the bond these three women share was special and it was nice to see them settled and happy.
I have legit been waiting for this book since the first moment Chloe and Xavier met. I knew this story and these two would be my favorite in the series and I was SO right! I loved them so much! Friends to lovers, fake relationship, a hero with a plan, need I say more? I don't think so. This combo was GOLD.
Their story was just amazing, filled with insane chemistry and a beautiful friendship. Chloe had been burned before when it came to love so for the past year she had been on a hiatus from men but most of all from love. She was so afraid to fall in love again and trust a man with her heart and, knowing Xavier's womanizing ways, she did not want to take their relationship to that level. However, when the ex who completely obliterated her heart shows up out of the blue, Xavier is quick on his feet and comes up with the perfect plan to keep the ex away and to show Chloe just how good and right they are for each other.
Xavier was just so swoon-worthy, I adored him and his protective side. He really showed Chloe how much he cared for her. My heart hurt for Chloe because I knew why she was so against giving Xavier more than friendship but I was DYING for her to give innnn. After their first kiss ( oh my), how could she keep saying no?!
Swept Away is an amazing book, at times emotional and the side plotlines really made this story more amazing and added a depth that I really enjoyed. If you're looking for a quick amazing read, definitely check out this book and the other two in the series. I really enjoyed it, it's a small town series centered on 3 best friends who join forces and create a new business and I adored them all.

Chloe Hart has decided to go celibate for a year, after having her heart broken by her ex, while also working on reinventing herself, focusing on being happy, independent, and successful on her own. Xavier Wilde is a cop and has moved to the small town of Wildfire Lake to support his god-daughter, and even though Chloe has kept him in the friendzone for a year, he is determined to break down her walls and make his way into her heart before he puts in his transfer. When Chloe’s ex shows up at the retreat she’s co-teaching at, Xavier swoops in and helps her out, posing as her boyfriend. Chloe has a hard time resisting Xavier and his charming ways, so she gives in to the idea of being in a fake relationship with him to get through the 10 days of the retreat and keep her ex at bay. One thing leads to another, lines get blurred, people get hurt. After everything, can Chloe put her heart on the line once again, and trust Xavier with it?
I am so sad that the Wildfire Lake series has come to an end, but I absolutely loved the journey it took me on! I loved how at the beginning of each book, we see from each girl their perspective through the storm that took place on the island Lailya, KT, and Chloe met, and how they became friends. I've been waiting for Chloe's story since that one grocery store scene in In Too Deep, and it was perfect! Chloe is a beautiful, deep thinking, funny, yoga instructor and spiritual teacher. Xavier Wilde is a strong, determined, attractive, police officer. They have this undeniable chemistry and pull between them, and when they finally get together it’s explosive! I absolutely loved getting to know Chloe more, and Xavier, the people in his life, and the journey these two went on. Also the many appearances from the previous books characters! Xavier was funny and his friendship with Chloe was goals. Such a great read and conclusion to this series!
I have really enjoyed this series and was anticipating Chloe’s story – and I wasn’t disappointed. In Swept Away, we are back in Wildfire and this time it is Chloe Hart’s and Xavier Wilde’s story. Chloe now owns and operates Wanderlust, a popular yoga studio in town and ‘Z’ – as he is known to everyone – is part of the police force. And he’s VERY interested in Chloe, who secretly adores him but doesn’t really let him get out of the friend zone.
The story is terrific but I’m not going to retell it. Ms. Jordan does a much better job. Instead, I will tell you what I enjoyed reading. Chloe has major trust issues from her past and she must learn to deal with them. She has a heartbreakingly bad break up in her past and it colors all the feelings in the here and now. Until she deals with it, she can never truly move on. It’s her growth to work through those issues that I liked, although the author (imho) may have given her too much of a pass. Just my opinion. And Z…I think he had a bum rap – with Chloe’s friends/new family, his friends/family – but his character is strong enough to pull it off. Like Chloe, there are relationships in his past that need attention, and soothing, before he can be there, truly, for Chloe. Annnnnnnnndddddddd everyone else in his life.
Swept Away is a great “ending” to these three wonderful women who meet under dire circumstances and remain friends and sisters. They are SO different from one another but I think that’s what makes them strong. Adored Z. Like REALLY loved his character. He took on SO much of other people’s struggles but he grew into his “real” feelings in the end. I’m sorry that we won’t be able to visit the marina again. Great read.
Swept Away by Skye Jordan Wildfire Lake #3 ~ Conclusion
Sigh…Xavier…sigh…what a guy…book boyfriend divine…most of the time. I really liked him even though at first he seems to be rather hedonistic and a bit of a womanizer BUT as I got to know him…my, oh my! And, he was perfect with Chloe! I loved the way the series wrapped up and all three women met in the scary prologue ended up with their own happily ever afters.
What I liked: * Xavier: I think I mentioned above what effect he had one me…and he seemed to have the same effect on all the women in town. * Chloe: yoga instructor, life skills writer, new age woman, sought after, hurt in the past, trust issues, heart of gold, great friend, perfect for Xavier. * Piper: really felt for her as she tried to adjust and adapt after her father’s death. She was lucky to have Chloe and Xavier in her corner. * Seeing the couples from the previous books. * The prologue – what a way for the three women to forge a lifelong friendship! * The way feelings were dealt with in a positive way * That there was communication between H/h * Bodhi – seemed a bit of a creep for hurting Chloe but he grew on me. I can see him having a book of his own IF he has truly changed. * The relationship between Xavier and Chloe * All of it really except…
What I didn’t like: * Being reminded of how vulnerable teens can be and how desperate they are to be loved and find a place to belong.
Did I enjoy this story? Yes Would I read more by this author? Yes
Thank you to NetGalley and Cygnet Books for the ARC – This is my honest review.
I’m a little sad this is the last book in this series as I’ve thoroughly enjoyed each book and the strong and fierce female leads in each book and this one is Chloe’s story and it’s a doozy!! Chloe is the last of her group of friends in Wildfire to have her romance and she definitely wasn’t looking for love. She in fact had totally friend-zoned Xavier a year ago, but things are about to change!!
This is a man that knows what he wants and what and who he wants is Chloe. But he’s also committed to his Goddaughter Piper and I loved how he cared for this teenage girl. She’s got a mom that’s just not everything a mom should be so Xavier has stepped in since her father is his former partner. And Chloe can see how much Xavier loves this girl, but will she hinder his growing, albeit “fake” relationship with Chloe?
Things change for our H/h when Xavier steps in and up to be Chloe’s other half when her Ex comes to town for a conference and the chemistry that’s between them is still sizzling on high and pretty soon Chloe can do nothing but give in to their pull and realize that this is the man she has always hoped she’d find to be her other half!!
I loved how the couples from the previous two books are intertwined in this last book bringing everything full circle for all three of them and how their lives and changed and improved with unending love from the men they’ve fallen in love with!
Swept Away is the third standalone book in the Wildfire Lake series, and it follows Chloe and Xavier. It's a heart-melting story that had me glued to the pages. Skye Jordan captivated my attention yet again, with a swoony and emotional friends to lovers romance.
Chloe and Xavier have amazing chemistry. Their relationship unravels naturally. They start off as friends and gradually become more. Chloe is mending her broken heart after a nasty breakup with her ex and is hesitant to start something new with Xavier. She needs time to heal, and he gives her space to do that. The handsome police officer is known in town as a playboy, that's why Chloe keeps him in the friend zone for a while. But there's much more to him than that, and he only needs one chance from Chloe, to prove he has the best intentions. Plus, there's this insane attraction between them and the moment she gives into it, Xavier sweeps her off her feet.
This story tugged at my heartstrings, as I could deeply relate to Chloe. I loved her character so much. The action was quick-paced, but with enough room for plot and character development. A great and easy read I wholeheartedly recommend!
I’ve really enjoyed this series, and I’ve been patiently waiting for the conclusion, I’ve been desperate for Chloe and Xavier’s story, it had so much potential. Hot cop Xavier Wilde, who has been lusting after Chloe Hart since he first laid eyes on her a year earlier, has been friend zoned by her. She friend zoned him because of her own issues, issues that have arisen primarily because of her ex, Bodhi, who cheated on her, and sadly she decided that men and relationships would not be a part of her foreseeable future. I absolutely loved Xavier, he was sweet, funny, patient, and oh so loveable. However, I didn’t warm to Chloe as much (maybe because she wouldn’t give Xavier a chance). She did redeem herself somewhat in some of her actions, but for some reason I still found her a bit whiny. The story was fun and flirty with some wonderful characters keeping the hot cop on his toes. I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest review.

The final book in the Wildfire Lake series did not disappoint. Chloe and Xavier's story was so sweet. Xavier is a player and wants to play with Chloe. Chloe is dealing with a breakup and isn't interested. They do developed a friendship. When Chloe and friends plan a retreat for the resort, she discovers the guest speaker is her ex, who cheated on her and broke her heart. I love that Xavier steps and claims her in front of him. So they pretend to be lovers to keep the ex away. Of course both find it hard to pretend since they are extremely attracted t0 each other. I love how their friendship grows into a beautiful relationship. Their chemistry was explosive. I'm really sad to see the end of this series. Excited to see what the author shares with us next. Advanced copy provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.
4.5 stars! Ahhh I loved this so much! I connected to Chloe so much with how much she cares about spirituality and the fear of getting hurt. I read this one first despite it being the third book and I still loved it so much! I cannot wait to go back and read the others. Xavier was such a good hero, I am so glad that Chloe was able to find him and they could have this super sweet (yet steamy😉) romance. I read this book in just a few hours. It pulled me from a reading slump, I loved it so much!! I’d highly recommend❤️
I‘ve been waiting for Xavier and Chloes story since book one and I finally got it.
Xavier and Chloe are close friends since Chloe and the girls moved to town. He‘s charming, seriously hot, a great father figure to hos goddaughter, a cop and overall just perfect. But Chloe has her doubts. He‘s a player but she doesn‘t know it‘s only because he is waiting for her to let him out of the friendzone.
Chloe has been through alot in her life. A hard childhood and a big heartbreak just before she moved to town put her into a self proclaimed celibacy.
I enjoyed Chloe and Xaviers story. Both of them are very strong characters and have been through alot i. their lifes. What started out as a best friends waa the perfect foundation for their relationship.
I‘m truly sad that this series is over. Hopefully we will get some more glimpses into their lifes in the future.
What an ending to the Wildfire Lake series! I’ve been waiting and wanting Chloe and Z’s story and it was a good one. The way he was able to finally snag her attention was cute and I’m glad she got the closure she needed with Bodhi and it wasn’t drama filled. Some miscommunication led to a tense moment at the end that fit well with the story. Great series overall!
Swept Away by Skye JordanMy rating: 5 of 5 starsThe Wildfire Lake series is a journey of sisterhood, second chances and love. It's more than a little heartbreaking to know that we've reached the end of the road with these three extraordinary women. However, in true Skye Jordan fashion, she saved the best for last. Swept Away is Chloe's story. It is the tale of a woman that from the outside seems to have her world together, yet the heartache and betrayal of her past continues to haunt her present. Xavier is the second chance she never thought she'd have until her past regrets return and threaten to swallow her whole. Sexy, sassy and irresistible make for an unforgettable romance. A bittersweet goodbye .View all my reviews
This story was interesting to say the least. I had a lot of issues with it. Firstly, I did not like how Xavier seemed so creepy from the beginning. His presence was too intense and territorial. If he was truly her best friend, I feel like he would've respected her boundaries, despite their "chemistry". Also, he said so many questionable things throughout the book, my patience for him completely disappeared. Our other MC Chloe, was in my opinion, a pretty boring character. I didn't feel any sort of way about her. The storyline itself was entertaining, which is why I finished it. However, I did not care for the romance at all, and since this is a romance book.. it affected my scoring of it. As mentioned, the plot was interesting, so it makes sense why others have rated it highly. The romance just wasn't for me.
