I was for sale, but he didn't buy me. He just took me.
Exiled from Earth by a tyrannical government, I was meant to be sold for use on a distant world. But Vane doesn't buy things. When he wants something, he takes it, and I was no different.
This alien brute didn't just strip me, punish me, and claim me with his whole crew watching. He broke me, making me beg for mercy and then for far more shameful things. Perhaps he would've been gentle if I hadn't defied him in front of his men, but I doubt it. He's not the gentle type.
When he carried me aboard his ship naked, blushing, and sore, I thought I would be no more than a trophy to be shown off or a plaything to amuse him until he tired of me, but I was wrong.
He took me as a prize, but he's keeping me as his mate.
Publisher's Note: Prize includes spankings, rough sexual scenes, intense and humiliating punishments, and strong D/s themes. If such material offends you, please don't buy this book.
So honestly the first 6 chapters of this book didn't do it for me. I need a story and connection with the main couple. It was all spice and a lot of the terms used were repetitive. I found myself skimming after 50%.
Narrator Guillaume Dubois & Ramona Masters did a good job narrating
I received this audiobook at my request from Pink Flamingo Productions and have voluntarily left this unbiased review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
This is a paranormal alien romance, where Nina, an Aberrant is kicked from Earth, she finds herself in a hijack situation where she meets Vane a space pirate and things get hot. The storyline started quite good, there is a lot of sex scenes and I so wished the story developed way more than it did, it was entertaining but had a great potential to be more into the story, it could've been way longer for sure. The worldbuilding was quite interesting and good to support a longer story. There is more sex than the actual story, which I think is the way the author intended and so it's a good story if you are looking for alien sex with BDSM. The audiobook is narrated by the very talented Ramona Masters and Guillaume Dubois, I liked Guillaume, I believe it's my first time hearing him and I think it was good, maybe because it was an alien and so I know the voice and way of speaking might change from a regular human so it was good, however, Ramona did a brilliant narration, she was an emotional connection to the characters and I love her voices.
Not my thing but I can see the appeal. Also it doesn’t make sense why the other humans were banished from earth. Nina, yes. Them? No. She could have started riots on earth. Uprisings.
Nina finds out that she is an Aberrant. They are not welcome on Earth and she is being sent to Kryoan to be sold. She is a fighter and isn’t going to be taken without a fight. Vane is a space pirate and has attacked the ship that all the Aberrants are on. Earth has flown these people through space without ever paying or giving to others. Vane is about to change all that. When Nina and Vane meet, it is with a sassy mouth and a thoroughly spanked butt. But she is feeling things that she doesn’t understand and does not want to surrender to this monster. Vane finds her intriguing and plans to tame the vixen. I do enjoy these space pirates. They aren’t all the same in looks and all tall and muscled. Nina makes a few friends on the ship: Mari, Vicky, and Monica. The strength that she shows from the beginning of the book to the end was so rewarding. I loved it. Mind you the punishment was intense too. WOW! But is was also so steamy and hot. You could almost imagine the pain and pleasure. So good. I was wondering about the virus and the progress of it. Was Nina the cure? And are that Aberrant the cure for his crew? Who knows? We can only hope there will be more stories. Side note: I have to say that the spread of the virus brings it home in a way. That’s all I’ll say.
I loved this book. It was so full of everything. I loved the heroin. So strong and badass, resilient, intelligent, determined, compassionate and so on. Vane was a monster, a delicious hard, no-nosence, commanding, ruthless beast. The story was very well developed, with several scorching hot, otherworldly sex scenes satisfying many insane fantasies. Discipline being the main focus, it was always delivered to its fullest. I could really write on and on explaining why I liked this book so much, still it would not be enough! Though the start of the characters´ relationship was awkward (at least from Nina's point of view) we get to see how it was evolved to love. I would like to have seen Vane's reaction to Nina being pregnant with his child. :) Also, I would love a story (or many stories) about other members of his crew (maybe Havier and Mari?) and what happened to the members being infected with the virus. Sara never fails to deliver and this might be my favourite story of hers.

In this book's version of Earth in the future, all 21 year olds are tested to see where their percent job/home should be. Some are declared Aberrant, which is unsuitable to remain on Earth and are shipped/sold off to a planet of aliens or sent to something worse. Nina's been declared Aberrant and is on her way somewhere, when the dread pirate Vane captures the ship, kills all the crew and takes all the humans as prizes. Nina's sassy mouth and strength impresses Vane, so he takes her as his prize. The book has some twists and turns, the chemistry between the H &h is sizzling, and overall this is a well paced, steamy read. It's available to read with your KU Subscription and well worth the time .

This had a divergent undertone. Tested, didn't make the cut, shipped off earth to be an alien bride. A different take on that story idea which I liked.
My complaint is that there was very little storyline and lots of sex. Most of the story was a sex scene and while I don't mind sex in stories, I prefer the storyline to be better fleshed out. This story was basically something happened, quick wrap up, intense sex scene, rinse and repeat. I would've like to have understood more and the virus, the backstory of the main characters, etc. Kinda disappointing.
Nina is on a ship to be sold to aliens. The ship is attacked by Vane and his crew. The humans including Nina are taken as prizes by the pirates. Nina gets Vane's attention because she is outspoken. She is punished and used in front of Vane's men then taken by him as his mate. This is a dark, bdsm themed sci-fi romance. A recommended read.

I have enjoyed several dark romances, especially alien captives turn lovers turn mates, but I am very disappointed in this book. It took dark romance to a whole different level with the degradation of the main female. I'm not sure if I will read any more by this author.

Good to the last page . If BDSM bothers you this book isn't for you. But if you enjoy reading heavy scenes of BDSM and do mind a bit of sadism I recommend this book. I enjoyed it.
First off I found this audiobook to be really enjoyable. It absolutely is the kind that holds your attention from beginning to end. One of those that once I start I go back to every moment I can until it's done. Overall it had a good premise and flowed really well. I must admit there were a few plot points that I felt were introduced but never resolved. I don't want to give anything away but I do wish a cure had been found or at least hinted at being close to found. And the situation with the leading man and lady wasn't really explained as to why the reaction was the way it was and if it might work for anyone else. I wish that had been addressed. But it didn't stop me from enjoying the book. More it was thoughts I had after finishing.
One of the things I was pleasantly surprised about was the narrators. Both of them were new to me but they were very very good. I liked the dual POV and I always like when I find a new male narrator especially who doesn't drive me crazy with his female voice and doesn't have to be super deep and/or gruff for me to enjoy.
I would definitely recommend this story and will look for more from this author and these narrators.
Ohhh... I'm so mad. I wrote a genius review for this book and somehow I lost it or didn't hit submit. And yes... it was genius. But I will try again. But it will in no way be as good as the first. :( I really loved this audiobook and I didn't think I would. After the first, very intense 2 hours of the book, I was concerned that the entire book would be like that. And I need a good story with sex. And Sara Fields did not disappoint. My first impressions of Nina were that I didn't like her. I figured that because she allowed herself to be "abused" like that, she must have been weak. But as the story went on, She showed everyone how untrue that is. And the narrators both did incredible jobs. I think that if I had to choose a better one, it would be her. But only slightly. This was not my first book by Sara Fields and it most definitely won't be my last! #AudiobookObsession #TheFlock-VIP Review Team
Prize (A Rough Sci-Fi Romance) By: Sara Fields Narrated by: Ramona Masters, Guillaume Dubois
I thoroughly enjoyed this SciFi Alien Romance novel. Sara Fields is a master at creating fascinating stories that are out of this word and this prize of a story is no exception. The characters and storylines are imaginative and well developed, amazing world build up too. The story is futurist set in 2465, life on Earth is nothing like it is today. Anyone who has children only have them until they are 21, after that they never see them again, they are sent to a different sector depending on the results of the tests they are subjected to. If that test determines a person to be an “aberrant” they are treated like criminals and are sent off to live on another planets, to be sold off to aliens. Nina turned 21 and test results showed she was an aberrant, she was given a chose of two planets and she chose the one she knew the least of because the other alternate was a guarantee death. She and a number of other aberrants are loaded on a space ship to head to their destined planet but they never make it there, the ship is attacked by space pirates, lead by the most feared pirate Vane, they killed off the crew and took all who were with Nina in custody, to be sold off. Nina bravely speaks up while the rest of the captives shrink in fear, she catches Vane attention and he decides he is going to keep her but he will have to teach her how to be obedient. Holy moly what he does to her in front of the crew and the rest of the captives. He wants to set an example of her, to make sure no one else steps out of line. He also likes her feistiness and the challenge she presents. I like Nina’s strength and courage, also liked how she looked out for the others and tried to do the right thing for them. Vane is a brut of an alpha but he also had a heart. I loved how everything plays out in this book, the story is greatly plotted with plenty of drama, angst, some twists and turns, some BDSM sexy times and hot romance. Sara Fields thank you for another fascinating story, I love how you think outside the box and take your readers for an out of this world experience.
I listened to the Audible edition, Ramona Masters and Guillaume Dubois are fantastic narrators and voice artists. They were perfectly cast to bring these characters to life, giving each their own voice. They do an awesome job portraying the characters, capturing their persona as well as their emotions, performing each role with perfection. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fabulous listen🎧 Thank you @PinkFlamingoProductions @AudiobookObsession #TheFlock #AudiobookObsessionReviewer🎧

Good book! MC's were hot for each other. Their chemistry together was incredible. MMC captured FMC and knew she was his from the beginning. She was tough and spoke her mind. MMC corrected her in front of her fellow captured humans and his crew. He was not gentle in the least. He was extremely rough punishing her. Naked. She quickly realized she better shut her mouth and take the punishment. Lots of spankings, whippings, dominance, sex, etc.... Mature audiences only. So happy this author's books are part of KU.
Prize, was my first Sara Fields book, and perhaps a little too rough for me. The characters were interesting, the story was well-paced, and I liked how the emotional relationship developed between Nina and Vane. I loved how Nina saw herself as something more than a discarded human. She really grows into a strong woman. It did leave me with a lot of questions concerning the discarded humans from Earth. So I wonder if there will be future books.
Here was my problem...this might be the hardest discipline book I've ever read. I must be used to bdsm light. I read omega books so showing ownership, spanking discipline, Alpha dominance, and public dominance didn't bother me. The way he physically punished her was too much from me and had me cringing. It wasn't sexy to me at all. It just sounded painful. I didn't even know it was a thing to spank all the areas he did with a strap/belt. Ouch!!!!!! I also didn't care for out one particular sex act was a punishment...my goodness she would be ripped up and bleeding the way he went at it. She definitely would have needed aftercare from her Dom. So if you are into the darker stuff and none of the above mentioned bothers you...this is a must-read.
Am I curious about reading future books, yes. But I will be cautious.
Ramona Master and Guillaume Dubois did a good job with the narration. Both of their voices fit the characters and emotions. #AudiobookObsessionVIP #PinkFlamingoProductions #FlockRushReview
At 21, all humans are tested. The Aberrants, humans that don't fit their specifications are sold, to be auctioned off, in another world. Vane knew this is precious cargo and he can make a fortune. He and his pirate crew captured, plundered the cargo ship that contained the human Aberrants. Nina, the defiant, strong willed, challenging human caught Zane's eye. He decided this is the one to keep for himself. He would have to make her submit, take away her dignity. Yes, he was brutal, possessing her in everyway sexually, but it was his way of showing dominance over her. Sara Fields brings you into a dark, highly erotic, dystopian world, with action, anger and fights. There are scenes of very brutal, degrading sexually, detailed punishment. If that type of material offends you, please don't buy this book. I enjoy Sara Fields stories. She brings a different storyline and ideas to her books. I listened to this on audio. It was emotionally , sexually charged. Ramona Master and Guillaume Dubois narration was very good.. #AudiobookObsessionVIP #PinkFlamingoProductions
The sex scenes are good but everything else is horrible. I don't like cringing from dialogue in a smut book. The FMC is over the top. I don't know where her self-confidence comes from. It's annoying. It's not a cute feisty thing, it's awkward annoying.
The bit of story thrown in leaves a lot of questions.
I just can't get over the dialogue. The writing style overall isn't that bad but utterly destroyed when one character opens its mouth.
It was a lot of the exact wordage over and over again. There were entire sentences that I am fairly certain were copied and pasted, but it was good. I wish there had been more connection-building between the characters, or something to better explain why they were so drawn to each other. Either way, I get that this book has a different purpose than really being a true story with a fleshed-out plot, so in reality, it did its job. It was hot and spicy, and that's the whole story.
Not a book for everyone but I did find Nina the heroine to be strong, defiant, and willing to do the right thing regardless of the punishment for her actions.
Vane was a flawed hero but then those are the best kind.
The sex was raw, graphic, and violent... a bit to much for me but still I enjoyed the story.
Apparently the galaxy has a word of a day, and the word of the day was “sassy.” And you get a prize if you say it the most! That was said about a thousand times in the first couple chapters. Vane won. Because he said it a thousand times. I’d say there’s synonyms to sassy... but then he wouldn’t have won, you feel?
This gave me such a migraine. I can’t with this; I’m sorry.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book. However, the reason for the three stars is that I really would like to know how Vane found Nina, what happened to Javier and more about how Nina affected the mark. Also, I would’ve really liked to have more details on Vane’s statement in the epilogue about Kraken Prime, specifically what happened.
The Prize is super sharp, dark and deliciously sexy listen with a well-built plot. Nina, a bad a$$ aberrant, is feisty and fierce, despite her circumstances. Vane and Nina together are HOT!!
I LOVE Sara Fields imaginative and out of this world SciFi Alien Romance novels. Her writing style is awesome. Listening is even better. Ramona Masters and Guillaume Dubois brought the characters and story to life. Thank you for the great listen.
It's a word that leads to find new finds, when others desire your future and leaves choices very limited. Yet one can be surprised by the actions can lead you to love
