Bodies of murdered children are being found all over Charlotte, North Dakota ... and everyone is horrified .. especially parents of 10-year-old boys. So far, the count is ten children dead ... one every week... for the last 10 weeks. Each one is dispatched with gunshot to the head.

Madison Miller is asked to babysit a neighbor's young boy for a short while. Out of a job and short of money, she agrees. The boy is a good kid .. no problems.

But then the 10-year-old boy goes missing. He was in his room when she hears a noise...and going to check, she finds that he is gone ... Did someone break in and take him? Did he crawl through the window himself for some unknown reason? Did someone tempt him to leave?

Being an unemployed news reporter, she feels unbearably guilty that this happened on her watch. The police are stymied .. this one is different from the other cases. So .. is this a copy cat? Will he be found in a week's time with a bullet in his head?

Her neighbor is a suspended cop .. Adam Walker. He and his ex-partner, Ryan Gates, throw in with Madison to see if they can find who's responsible .. before the week ends.

When I first started reading, I was a bit unhappy with the killer and his motive being the first chapter in. I'm one of those who like to try to figure out the whodunit by the end of the book .. I want my Perry Mason moment. I was afraid it would keep me from really enjoying the rest of the book.

I am so glad that I decided to continue with the book .... and I found it well-written with twists and turns that kept me in suspense and wondering how far the characters were willing to go to save a young child. I liked how the tangled plot mostly centered on police procedures. All in all, a very good read.

Many thanks to the author for the digital copy of this crime fiction. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

Cotswold Mecklenburg County, Charlotte, NC. Myers Park. 911. Alexander “Alex” Hemmings reported the death of Oliver Weston, his 10th & final victim.
Madison “Maddy” Miller (29, former reporter/journalist) wasn’t having much luck finding a job.
P/T babysitting wasn’t going to pay the bills.

Breaking News: Grace Church (WCNC Channel 9 TV News) & Andrew Hill (WBTV Channel 3 TV News); 10 children in 10 weeks had been killed.
The children were students of Cotswold Elementary school.
Bang, Crash of glass shattering! While Madison was babysitting Lauren Daniels only son Ethan Daniels (10) had been kidnapped in a similar as her son Tucker Patrick Miller (10) had.
Officer Gerald Hopkins, Officer Hassan (middle eastern), & Officer Felix arrived at the crime scene.
Detective Ryan Gates, Officers: Todd Wilde, Adam Walker, Peter Jenkins, Sheriff Chad Griffin Mecklenburg County), & the residents of Bertonley Ave & Hartness Ave were helping canvas the area looking for Ethan.

WCNC Channel 36 news reporter Grace Church was broadcasting live about the missing Ethan.
FBI SA Spencer Black had arrived.
Detective Ryan Gates (Charlotte Mecklenburg PD Homicide) went to see Adam Walker (neighbor, former Homicide Detective).
The 10 children were tied/gagged & shot in the head by a .38 special.
Dr. Xavier Michaels (reported) John Doe died of a single gunshot to the head.

Will Ethan be found alive & the serial killer caught & brought to justice?

I do not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing free books from publishers & authors. Therefore, I am under no obligation to write a positive review, only an honest one.

Warning: This book contains descriptive accounts of extremely graphic adult content, violence, or expletive language (goddamn) &/or uncensored sexually explicit material (kidnapping minor, verbally, psychologically, emotionally physically abuse) which is only suitable for mature readers. It may be offensive or have potential adverse psychological effects on the reader. If you are especially sensitive to this type of material, it is strongly advised not to read any further.

An awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very professionally written serial killer mystery book. It was quite easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a large set of unique characters & facts to keep track of. This could also make another great serial killer mystery movie, or better yet a mini TV series or even a documentary. There is no doubt in my mind this is an amazingly easy rating of 5 stars.

Thank you for the free Author; ARC; PDF book

This is a quick read with an engaging storyline. However, I found the characters quite simple and most of the story resolved quite quickly. There are so many questions on how at the end some characters ended up where they did. Overall, an entertaining read.

Great story line but hard to read due to all of the spelling, punctuation, spacing and grammatical errors. Someone definitely needs to edit.

The story follows Madison Miller who is in the middle of a crisis, her journalism career is dead, and she is struggling to make ends meet. She takes up babysitting to earn a little money to get by. While babysitting Ethan Daniels, he’s kidnapped from his room.

The novel is told from two perspectives, Madison’s and the killers. I enjoyed reading the story from the killer’s perspective. You got an insight into his thoughts and feelings. You get to know him as a character and not just the perception of him from other characters.

It is only 134 pages long, so it moves quite quickly through the plot. I was interested to see where the plot went, and it kept me reading it. However, because the story moves so quickly there are some side plots that are told but never fully explained and I found myself wanting to know more about that i.e. Tucker Miller. There were some moments of repetition and a few typos within the books but it didn’t affect my overall enjoyment of the novel.

Overall, the premise of the story did interest me, and it held my attention however I wanted it to be longer in order to delve further into the characters and their backstories.

I was approached by the author to read her novel in exchange for an honest review.

This was quite a read. The book was really fast paced and as all thrillers should be—it was thrilling!

Madison Miller is in the middle of a crises. Her career met a dead end long ago, she has no job, is alone and is barely getting by. Babysitting is the only thing she can do to earn a little money and things take a worse turn when a 10-year-old Ethan Daniels is kidnapped from his own room while she is babysitting.

It doesn't take long for the plot to kick in as the story grips you from the very first chapter. There is a lot going on in this book—an investigation into the serial kidnappings and murder of 10-year-olds, an ex-officer trying to find a way back to his job, Madison dealing with the loss of her own son who was also kidnapped and killed in a similar manner while having to deal with the current situation she's been dragged into. For the most part, the book does a very good job at being an engaging thriller as I was hooked.

Like all good stories should, Missing makes you care about the characters. I couldn't help but feel sorry for Madison while being worried for Ethan. And then, there's the killer who has had a traumatic childhood that made him into a monster that he is. Like I said, I was hooked and finished the book in two readings as I couldn't wait to learn what happened next. I did have a few problems with the book and this has mostly to do with its length. It's only 119 pages and due to this I think the characters are not as fleshed out as they should have been. I also felt that ending was a little rushed, leaving certain story lines incomplete. But still, these flaws didn't take away from the overall enjoyment I had with the story and I would still recommend it to thriller fans.

Special thanks to Nenny May for sharing the ARC with me; I really enjoyed it a lot.

My introduction to Nenny May and boy, was I impressed? Am really grateful that I found “Missing” It’s thrilling as it’s gripping. Right from the beginning I was hooked completely.
To show how well the is written, I couldn’t help but feel with the characters what they felt. From Madison Miller to Alexander Hemmings. And the description of scenes and the environment. I mean the description of the streets. The smell and sounds make it seem like you are transported directly into the scene and you are seeing what the characters are seeing, smelling and feeling.
All the characters are well developed and scenes well written and that is what a good book should sound and feel like. And Nenny nailed it completely.

A wonderfully written fairly short story that easily held grabbed my interest and then held it. I love a good psychological thriller; this isn’t one of those this is a fantastic psychological thriller. My only bad point about it is that it was too short and ended before I was ready to leave these characters. If this is an example of the caliber of writing from this author then I strongly suggest readers of this genre be on the look-out for her books, I know I shall be.

Pretty Good! Just when you thought you knew what was happening the story twists.

Fast paced murder thriller that twists a number of times. This book at 164 pages is a nice short novel and did keep me glued. The characters especially the murderer were really well thought and fleshed out. If you fancy a light read in the murder and thriller genre this is a go to.

A good plot, however, with quite a different rhythm in the writing through the several chapters. Sometimes information was rushed and sometimes it was really lenghty, and some remarks about how the main character was attractive and would be a great partner under the sheets seemed out of place. In spite of the previous comments the book is entertaining and makes you want to know how will the story end, but, in this story, we´ll have to read the next book in the series.

I received this book in return for an honest review. I thought this book was good. It was well written and easy to get into. My only disappointment is the fact it doesn't explain why he ended up at the school in the end when he was going after Ricky?

I just couldn't get into this book. I'm not sure if it was the writing style or the fact that too much was given away too fast. More mystery would have kept my attention.
