I am, first and foremost, a storyteller and an artist--words are my palette. Fantasy is my genre of choice, and I love to explore the darker side of human nature through the filter of fantasy heroes, villains, and everything in between. I'm also a freelance writer, a book lover, and a guy who just loves to meet new people and spend hours talking about my fascination for the worlds I encounter in the pages of fantasy novels.

Fantasy provides us with an escape, a way to forget about our mundane problems and step into worlds where anything is possible. It transcends age, gender, religion, race, or lifestyle--it is our way of believing what cannot be, delving into the unknowable, and discovering hidden truths about ourselves and our world in a brand new way. Fiction at its very best!

Definitely 5 Stars!
I feel like KILLING someone! A cliffhanger to end all cliffhangers! Nolan is certainly in an unenviable position, in more ways than one! He has to help Bex and saving Jadis is a priority but then he has Agent Styver to deal with. This is a fast paced book that I just couldn’t put down! Nolan and Bex make a fantastic team and Taia is invaluable. Both Nolan and Bex look to be coming closer to their individual goals and they are going to have to dig deep to overcome the obstacles facing them. Having seen them in action in previous books in the series I’m betting on them. The story really highlights the comradery between elite soldiers and how they become a close knit team; how they live for the action and how they are torn by needing to put family first. It also highlights the way in which proud soldiers can end up with nothing once their tour of duty is done. The depression they can fall into and how little help they receive from the very people who should help them.
An exciting book but also very thought provoking!

SHAODW-KILLER is the seventh book in the Cerberus series about a cybernetically-enhanced assassin in the far future. Nolan Garrett is working for the government that holds his brother's fate hostage in exchange for his service. Aided by a AI and a former addict fellow Silverguard, he attempts to find a way out from underneath his master's boot.

After numerous dangerous adventures, Nolan has managed to successfully negotiate for the freedom of his brother but he has to wipe out an entire terrorist organization himself. I liked the developments with Taia and hope that she does get to keep Nolan with his "physiological needs." I also like that his secret identity finally gets compromised after a bit too much of him hiding it from his loved ones.

Solid and entertaining novel.

This book has the hallmark of a great Cerberus book but with extra bells and whistles! It's so wild!

On any normal day, Nolan Garrett's life is difficult. Left as a paraplegic after an accident when he was part of the armed forces; his life is filled with little compromises that are eased partially or completely by Taia, Nolans intergrated AI who is his ģreatest help in that she can aid him mechanically, working a body armour suit that Nolan wears which Taia helps parambulate his lower body, so that he can have incredible speed and ease of movement. Using computer aided technology Taia helps Nolan work well and ultimately helps him not only to do his job, and do it incredibly well, but also to keep him alive, time after time.

With the assistance of Bex, a comrade from his time in the armed forces, who has re-entered Nolan's life at a fortuatous time; Nolan is tasked by his handler Agent Styver, who gives Nolan his orders, to go and remove a specialist doctor from the unwelcome hands of a group of assassins.

With Bex beside him and Taia helping him with her full range of super technology, Nolan goes in to retrieve Dr Sladek but to say its not easy to get it done is an understatement! Nolan is going up against other assassins, who are equipped as well as, if not better than him and Bex but by dint of their huge numbers, this is quite a difficult extraction. But when your enemy always seems able to locate you too easily for comfort and then starts attacking you in your supposed safe house, things turn ugly fast. Ohhh I loved that part of the story, the hunter becomes the hunted. But not hunted by just anyone, no, Nolan is being hunted by seasoned professionals, multiple times in multiple places.

I thoroughly loved this new Cerberus book. The author shows his skills as a writer when he blends his characters skills set with his armoury and writes some of the most thrilling and exciting action I have ever read. It's pulse pounding stuff and I always find my heart rate increasing and my mind reeling from the sheer force of the narrative.

Oh and Bex is a snarky, hard as nails character who I love and want to know more about. She's turned into quite the sidekick for Nolan and I think she adds nicely to the story. Also, unexpectedly for Nolan, he's started to have feelings for her. She's begun to be very important to him, and that is an aspect of Nolan's life that hasn't been explored before. It's a nice twist to the story and I'm not one who likes soppy romance in books, but I feel that the author dealt with Nolan's burgeoning feelings for Bex really well. It's not soppy but it is kinda nice as a complete change of direction for Nolan and his series of books.

There aren't many authors that I give a 5 star rating to, book after book after book, however, I feel that it is well earned with this dynamic story and series.

Every book I have read in this series has kept me on edge from beginning to end and this, book 7 has done nothing less. In this book Nolan and Bex continue working to bring Roz, Bex's daughter back into her life. In order to do this they need to see the job set out for her by Oversight seen to and successful. They need to take back Dr Sladek from the group who had kidnapped him, known as Shadowspear. This is a group of highly trained assassins who were selling their services out as executioners. Their base was set up in the area known as Paradise Isle and this is were the action mainly takes place. In this book Taia is not just the competent AI in Nolan's brain because she has now taken on a material body and is able to fight alongside Bex and Nolan. Known as Bast, to the Hellhound and Kali during their heart stopping adventure she really kicks ass on the Cerberus Team. Once this job is seen to Nolan is dreading Bex's leaving his life once again, his feelings for her have grown and he loves having someone on his team to watch his back but Nolan knows that Roz is the most important person in Bex's life and that his life of danger was no life for a young child but Bex too has feelings for Nolan and enjoys being part of a team and doing what she is trained for, exploding everything to high heavens. Gamemaster gives our team a real run for their life as the action is ramped up and non-stop from start to end and the end is once again a cliff hanger, thus I cannot wait to read book 8 in this highly addictive action packed, heart-stopping series.

Things are heating up for Nolan, Bex and Taia ( who now has a body to go with that brain) As Nolan and Bex try to recover a missing doctor to set things straight, Nolan must also try and figure out who b.c set his brother up and if that wasn't enough...someone has put a bounty on his head ! Just for giggles the piece of metal in his back ...is now killing him...well Christmas on a cracker !!! Just to make things really fun someone decides to seek and destroy everything Nolan has...well shit sticks.. can anything else go wrong...well yeah it can and does. Follow this epic adventure of Nolan is( AI ) Taia and his teammate Bex as they try and sort out just who, why, and how come the Oversight, Shadow spear, Agent Styver and the Gamemaster all want Nolan...dead. This is a fast pace, action packed, military style tale of epic proportions. Andy Peloquin takes the reader on a wild adventure, but more importantly he writes this storyline so vividly, he transports you into Nolan's world. This series is absolutely a must read.

I would give this book a five star rating, I don’t like cliffhangers.

There are a few issues I have that keep me from giving this book a five, one of them is moot because the series is complete but if I was reading it I would not like the fact that it ended in a cliffhanger. I believe each book in a series should be able to stand on his own if the story is that good. Who is to say that the author will be here tomorrow to Penn the next book.
The other question I have is what happened to the sword that the assassin dropped, if it’s so precious why didn’t Nolan retrieve it. My third question is if Nolan is such a fabulous special ops soldier a silver guard why does somebody always have to bail him out of a jam? Besides these issues this is a great series great characters, can’t get enough of them read the series read the book it’s good.

The wonderful thing about Andy Peloquin's writing, actually there are many, is that no matter the genre each book excels the previous one and this series is no exception. Andy has the ability to add moral value to his protagonist and often the heroes are a rag tag bunch which makes us love them even more. Andy's ability to portray very human frailties or shortcomings and then have them step up to succeed in the worst case possible is a joy to read and what keeps me coming back to all of his works. I don't need to read a book review if I know it's by Andy Peloquin I just know it will be a rewarding read. In this book events are bringing Nolan, Bex, Jadis and Taia closer to achieving their desires. Even Agent Styver and Oversight seem to be closer to their goals. There is conflict and book 6 left the team at Paradise Isle trying to safely come out of that mess. Now in book 7 "Shadow Killer" Nolan and Bex are getting a better handle on how to infiltrate Paradise Isle and go deep into the bowels and extract Dr. Saldek from Shadowspear and do a trade off with Oversight of Dr. Saldek for Bex's daughter Roz. Of course there are complications, how will it affect Nolan and Bex they have become such an incredible team, as she goes on to live her life with her daughter? Taia has done some amazing upgrades that came in handy to help out Bex and Nolan, I wonder where those upgrades will lead? Jadis is missing and Taia helps find her but will Jadis and Nolan get any closer? And what about Shadowspear are they completely obliterated? So many unanswered questions, and oh so good.

I loved this book! I had begun to think of Dr. Sladek as some kind of monster, an unscrupulous scientist who did unethical experiments on human beings. However, in this seventh book in the Cerberus series, we are presented with Doc Sladek as a person forced through threats and blackmail to do what other people or organizations without morals demanded of him. Of course, this situation could not last long without being discovered by our protagonists Nolan Garrett, Bex and the beloved and very indispensable Taia, who will take matters into their very capable hands.
An excellent story, as always. Agile, full of action and a small dose of romance (Jadis, Bex, Taia?), with the quality that you'll not want to finish the book but at the same time you'll not want to stop reading it.
Many thanks to the author, Andy Peloquin, for writing this series and for giving me the opportunity to read Shadow Killer. I take this opportunity to clarify that my opinion was not biased by having received a copy of this book from the author.

What's next?

Lots of action, never a dull moment in Nolan's or Bex's life. And now, Taia has a corporal existence. I had thought that this was a replacement for Bex, but her departure, which seemed immanent, appears to be on hold, pending the next installment. Usually, by volume 7 of a series, I am pretty well burned out, but I am looking forward to number 8 in a big way. The entire series has been well written, with great character dt

Cerberus and his corp are up to their necks in trouble again. His corp is growing

Nolon or Cerberus as we have been calling him has had his little family corp grow around him. And the handlers are screaming because he isn’t jumping fast enough to please them. But every move he makes has to be double checked because someone or ones are on his tail and he don’t know who to trust. If he make the wrong move the wrong people get killed. So Cerberus had better make the right moves.

Another great one! As expected this story starts out in the middle of a life & death action sequence and never hits the brakes. Almost impossible to put down. And the surprises! Wow!! And just when things seem to be settling down to ‘everything might be ok,’ look out...but you’ll have to wait for the next one. Write fast!

Great Action

Some great developments i can fan boy over but not post due to spoilers, although a natural development i love how the overall theme brings in a lot of the conspiracy.
So far this is the best and most fun book yet as the banter is very good and the missions up there in terms of sheer destruction.

Good series....

4 stars because it has some "woke" elements to it that I, personally, don't care for. Leave that stuff where it belongs, in the real world. Otherwise, an excellent series so far.

If I didn’t have the next book in this series I would be very unhappy - I dislike cliffhangers! But this is a good book with Peloquin’s usual action, great characters and their interactions. Good story. Everything you could want

So books seven in the series. A series which Is going from strength to strength. Every book I read is the equal or the better of the ones that went before. This is no exception. I just couldn't put it down. If you liked the other one's you'll love this one. Highly recommended.

The action is fast and furious in this new instalment of the Cerberus series - even more so than usual. Action is Peloquin's forte, and he does it very, very well. I did rather miss the usual moral element that we have in most of his books; there were several very personal developments that could have led into some moral issues, but I felt they were sidestepped rather.
Of particular note in this book was the author's very competent handling of sexual intercourse between characters - it's rare to see it done so well, without the slightest hint either of sleaze or of sloppy sentimentality. Full marks for this!
One feels that this may be the penultimate book in the series; we seem to be approaching a resolution of all three of the overall story arcs.
