Sometimes I want just want to read a naughty, filthy, erotic story and this one fit the bill perfectly. Even with my smut I still demand good writing, a decent plot and fleshed out characters and Sinistre Ange didn't fail to deliver. She found the perfect balance of plot and steam, scattering hot, erotic scenes with a story that allows us to get to know both MC's.
There is some pretty decent world building, I did really get a feel of the immediate environment surrounding the characters, along with a decent background set-up. Meggie and Leo were believable, likeable and they definitely drew me into the story. Yes I was reading this mainly for the sex, but I quickly found myself caring about this pair as well as several side characters. The plot isn't terribly intricate but it's enough to make this an enjoyable read.
Even if the hucow kink doesn't sound appealing to you, this is so much more than that. The majority of the hucow elements are during the more sexual moments and the author writes them in a very sensual and appealing way. I personally felt as though the focus was mainly on the mental aspects of domination and submission. If you like your reads to be kinky then I really would recommend trying this. It's a lightweight but very hot read.

I came for cow smut and got a well written story.
Don’t get me wrong, there was plenty of smut, especially of the human cow variety. I just didn’t expect it to be encapsulated in a novella that was both riveting and practically flawless.
So there’s 4 books in the series and each one takes place on a different prison planet. I thought it would be sci fi but other than numerous planets, there’s wasn’t anything science fiction or fantastical about the world.
The fantasy was in how they made these women lush with breast milk and horny as bunnies.
Add in some domineering men and milking machines and there we have it.
Very enjoyable if you’re looking for some well written milking porn.

Now, see, here I thought I was reading some sort of dystopian novella where the biggest fear is getting sent to a colony to work in a pleasant, pastoral setting. Color me surprised. Really. *coughs* Yea, okay, I knew what I was getting into and Sinistre Ange came through in His Favorite Hucow. Having read similar stories that usually tend to be on the violent side, I was surprised at how Ange handled this particular taboo trope and how much I enjoyed it. Because. It’s hot. Blistering. As someone who loves reading naughty stories that take my expectations and blow them off the page, this story does that and more. But don’t take my word for it. Buy the book. I dare you.

What in tarnation did I just read? 🤯 I've never read something this bizarrely kinky. I don't even know how to feel about the fact that I actually enjoyed this...way too f#cking much. And I'm not even into sci-fi's! This has opened a whole new world to me. Who knew! I'm blaming a particular FB group for introducing me to some weird and filthy kinks. Being new to FB and joining a bunch of reader groups has led me down the rabbit hole. Recommendations galore--books I would never have found on my own. One of those recs was this book. Call it curiosity that had me downloading it. I didn't even question what "hucow" meant or bothered to read the book description. All I knew is that it included the kink: erotic lactation (yeah, I know). Other than that, I went in blind. I've been on a "Fuck it" type of mood lately.

I was going to two star this but I just can't.
So the low rating is partially my fault. I saw this as an alien erotica rec and download it without reading a blurb. I've never heard of a hucow before and read it huck-ow thinking maybe the name of the alien race rather than HU-COW as in human cow...also on the KU cover Hathor is misspelled as Hather so I didn't connect any of these cow hints in my brain. Points will keep dropping from there.
So ya, this is definitely not my thing. I can't fathom finding lactation or pumping sexy so there goes a point there just in my enjoyment...no judgement to anyone but not for me.
The next is the crime. I HATE that the heroine we're supposed to be rooting for killed toddlers. It kept getting passed off as a horrible tragic accident and yes sure but she was a drunk driver, it's unforgivable for me and just marred her character. Sorry not sorry. And the fact that she hoped her milk would be sold to feed babies as if that somehow makes amends for her crime was super not it. Then it's basically said it mostly stays on the planet for other men to drink anyway so there goes that reconciliation attempt.
If you're still reading after that you'll notice how repetitive the writing is. The same information is retooled into multiple sentences to the point where I was saying "yes, yes you've just said that" multiple times. The sex scenes are the same as well, repetitions of the same acts in the same places by the same people with different verbiage.
And finally, it became really boring. I mean after reading the above you'd probably guess this was not going to redeem itself for me and boy it sure didn't. The last 30 pages dragged on and on which says something since they were full of explicit scenes but I just found myself not caring at all. Also Leo was weird...just weird personality...what little there was.
Should I have DNFd this? Probably but I was initially intrigued and held out hope...for too long clearly since the star rating just kept dropping as I went.
The writing is not bad overall so if explicit lactation kink/pet play/cows are your jam, you'll probably dig this as a snappy smut read. Otherwise, skip it..and read the blurbs!

Well....... curiosity had me trying this, I had to Google hucow because in over 20 years of reading I'd never heard of this.
Meggie committed a crime but because of her remorse she's given the option of going to another planet for her punishment. She's selected to go to Hathor, where she signs her rights away and agrees to live as a hucow.
Leo is instantly attracted to Meggie but follows the protocol of his farm. She's allowed to be part of the herd and gets milked morning and evening. The farm supplies breast milk, for sale and donation. Not everyone is happy that Leo is showing favouritism to Meggie however and the devious Lily causes some trouble.

To be a hucow you sign your rights away and live like a cow. The women are given a serum that's a wonder drug that not only causes them to produce a lot of milk but it protects them from pregnancy and even the sun.
They eat a special oats paste thing for breakfast and are let out to eat a special type of grass during the day.
I was both appalled and fascinated by this.
Meggie's crime to me deserved a greater punishment but I tried to let that go given the contents of the story.

I won't consider this a safe read because lots of om are allowed to milk Meggie both before and after she and Leo get together. Some of them suckle her breasts to do so but she doesn't have actual sex with anyone else.

There's a side story of characters who will eventually get their own book so a note to myself * Brandon wanted Cassie but didn't want to take her as his personal pet because he didn't want to stop fucking the herd. So he has sex with her and they both have sex with op.
Leo didn't want anyone else after meeting the h, he used the herd previously but not as frequently as Brandon
OW was Lily who wanted to be his pet
Interesting reading but not my cuppa tbh, if I had to rate this given my personal preferences it'd probably be a 1 star but I'm not the target audience for this so no rating.
I'll try other books from this author though her imagination is sure to take me on an interesting journey 😂

Fuck it, I'm kink shaming. Is this what you people like?! I might have had a tangential interest in this type of thing before reading this book, but this is not for me AT ALL. I don't even think I can look at boobs again without gagging. I've heard of dark romance, but this is one of the darkest most horrific things I have ever read. I thought it would be like Morning Glory Milking Farm and maybe the participants would be somewhat willing, but Jesus Tapdancing Christ, there is nothing even close to consent in this book and nothing in the blurb could have remotely prepared me for THIS.
Worse below. Stop here if you don't want to be traumatized... or aroused, I guess, since apparently there are people who are into... whatever the fuck this is.

The plot of the book is that convicted criminals are sold as sex slaves to the highest bidder and taken to planets to be sold at auction, each of which apparently is themed after an entire fetish. Not really sure how or why the logistics of theming an entire planet around one incredibly specific sexual fetish would even work, but I will say the author at least makes an attempt to world-build and explain it. Not that it makes anything better, but... I respect the attempt, I guess. The FMC, Meggie (Yes, her name is Meggie, not Maggie. No, her name is not Megan, it is Margaret and her nickname is still Meggie for some reason.) apparently drove drunk and killed a bunch of toddlers by plowing her hovercar into a daycare which is... a decision that, in hindsight, should have made me realize this was not going to be a good book, but it was just the kind of trainwreck you can't look away from. Everything about it just kept getting worse and worse.
These convicted criminals aren't just used to produce breastmilk under some flimsy horny pretense, they are chemically lobotomized and turned into actual farm animals forced to eat grass and wear butt plugs 24/7. They have no agency or free will or meaningful ability to consent or refuse being hooked up to milking machines and used as sexual objects by any man who claims ownership over them. The FMC literally doesn't have a single conversation with the MMC for the majority of the book because she isn't allowed to speak to a man (gag) and, even when he finally allows her to speak, she's only allowed to speak in his bedroom and only during his frequent rapes of her. And I do say rape because not only have these women have been completely stripped of their dignity and their rights to consent, they've been injected with a serum that essentially forces them to crave sex anyway because porn logic.
Meggie is never allowed to say no, to set any boundary, to express any preference. She isn't even treated as a being with thoughts or feelings. The character doesn't even have a personality besides being sooo pale (gag again) and sorry that she killed all those toddlers for the couple of days before the drugs kick in and she can't have thoughts anymore. If he'd just taped a fleshlight to a vending machine, I think it actually would have made for more compelling character interactions.
She's brutally attacked by gross stereotypes of rapacious black men at one point and has her ribs broken, is sedated so she's even less able to consent, and he doesn't even let her rest before he's pounding her again and inviting a friend to get in on it, too! I get that people have this fetish of wanting to taken care of and not have to worry about anything or make decisions, but is this really what y'all want?! I would have begged for death after a day of this. She's serving a LIFE SENTENCE and she's so braindead by the end of it that she can't even remember the crime she committed anyway!
This is not a romance, it's horror. It's worse than the worst episode of Black Mirror could ever be. Imagine fighting a false conviction in this universe. Nightmare fuel.

June 22, 2024I don’t even know how to rate this. This was definitely a weird one. It’s like furry crossed with a breastfeeding kink. In a world where everyone has to be useful, there are four planets that will accept human criminals as ‘pets’ for their sentence. They all involved being some sort of sex slave for the remainder of your life, but apparently that’s an appropriate punishment for shoplifting three times (and one planet keeps them childlike, freaking barf and hard pass). Anyway, Margaret ends up on a planet where they use criminals as cows: harvesting breast milk after giving them hormone injections. But it goes many, many steps further, because they also have to wear fake hooves, have a tail butt plug, and stay in a field all day eating specially engineered grass and are only allowed to say ‘moo’ if a male can hear them. Then they go back to the barn at night after milking, which also induces extreme horniness that the ranch hands help them out with. And basically everyone allowed to be a regular person on the planet is a male who likes milk ‘fresh from the source’. Yeah, I don’t know why I’m publicly admitting to reading this one either, but I wanted something weird and out there and this one was free, and it very much delivered. Definitely smut, (there’s a lot of cow themed sex scenes in here) and I do think it’s the most bizarre thing I’ve ever read. There’s a semblance of plot, but it’s mostly lactation kink (which is very much not my thing) and people living as submissive cows that are all okay with it which was possibly the weirdest part. But it delivers what the blurb promises.

Well, you better like the overall milking cow theme going into this book that’s for sure!
Overall, it was as I expected, nothing surprising.
There was a slight bdsm theme with the master position and occasional punishment, but very light.
The spice was good, a bit repetitive but good nonetheless. We did get to feel the building of a relationship between Meggie and Leo, which was well done in such a short format.
Also, the slight peek at Cassie and Brandon makes you want to read more about them.
The writing was enjoyable. I might try out the other books at a later time!

I saw that this was available for free on sykd last month and while I ultimately did not download it, my interest was piqued enough that I went and read several ‘hucow’ original works on AO3… which led me back here to this book. I’m not new to lactation kink but this is like completely different than anything I’ve read before, but in a good way! I actually really enjoyed the world building in this book (I may or may not continue to see what’s going on with the other prison planets) but the constant repetitiveness bothered me to the point that I’m mentioning it. Anyway, not too bad short and sweet and spicy and above all, interesting.

I do not know what rating to give, this book was very much not for me. I’m trying very hard to not yuck anyone’s yum. It should have come with trigger warnings longer than the book. Prisoners pick what kind of slavery they want (fetish or worked to death), and masters decide if they want to buy them. The hucows are drugged to be horny all the time so their milk is sweeter. Massive power imbalance between the MMC who also takes advantage of the FMC’s trauma response of hating herself so much that she wants to no longer make decisions or be human. Reads like it was written by a man who hates women.

This book focusing on a kïñk that ive heard of in the abstract but I’ve never looked into or learned anything about. Is this likely a most extreme scifi representation of it? Sure, but I’d say it also handled the why/how of it very well all things considered. Is this for everyone? Absolutely not lol not for the faint of heart. But if you’ve got an afternoon to spare and a very open mind, I suggest giving it a go.

This is one of the "sweeter" hucow books. I enjoyed the world building but it felt like it could have been much shorter to get to the end. I'm someone who likes the darker version of hucows so it just wasn't my cup of tea!
