Just finished The Long Con by the fabulous Lexxi James!!! What a fabulous read! Their is plenty of steamy moments and great chemistry and banter between between the main characters and alittle suspense and build up as well. I loved Jaclyn she is a strong sexy confident woman who has made it in a man's world with intelligence and a take charge attitude! And Richard is so hot! A total package good looks, charisma and very smooth talking pantie melting kind of guy who has found a way into jaclyn's intercircle though someone who's close to her. He has changed his looks and personality to pull one of the biggest con's to get close to the one woman he has wanted and longer for many years and he's running out of time! If she starts putting things together too fast the fall out and her fury from being lied to and conned will end whatever hope he had in making her his! Their are so many surprise appearances from some of the characters from Lexxi's Alex Drake series and a big reveal of the insider who was helping richard behind the scenes!!!! I can't say much,but I will end with this..... If you like your romance with a edge of suspense and a lot of sexual banter and great comebacks and one liners and some steamy hot sex scenes this is the book for you!!! In my opinion it can be read as a standalone,but take my word you'll want to know more about the extra players!!! Especially one hot as fuck Latin heartthrob and a lady who's sexual appetite and adventures are legendary!!! Until next time luv's💕💋

I love Lexxi James cause you know once she writes something it will be a must have. Being in a book slump The Long Con was just the book that was needed to bring me out of that slump. The sexy, jab dropping, chin dimple, smart not to mention wealthy Richard Austin has everything he wants except the one woman he's been after/obessed with in forever. He made a promise to her long ago and now she want even look his way, so what does Richard do to get into her world he make a proposition to someone she trust deep in her inter circle, change his looks dramatically and step into Jaclyn Long world.

The Long Con is about two hot people who need to be together. Richard is a sexy hot millionaire bachelor in need of a wife and Jaclyn is sexy CEO and the daughter of a business mogul. However, Jaclyn has enough sass and curves to warrant her stand-off behavior, but in order to get to her, you need to be part of her inner circle. This love story is unusual since there are underlying issues and mysteries surrounding the meet-cute. Love the way Lexxi James writes, she has a way to draw you in and deliveries on the romance. Well done, I'm team, Jackie!

Another in my top ten reads this year. Lexxi weaves a story that’ll have you trying to figure out who’s who and what’s really real.
Our male lead Richard was a character who delivered. He’s cocky, arrogant and sexy. He’s also in pursuit of Jaclyn, who won’t give him the time of day.
He’s tried for years to get her attention to no avail. This man will do anything to win her.
Jaclyn sees playboy written all over him. She shot him down before, years ago. But this new guy he’s nothing like that man.
Jaclyn, strong, independent, smart and beautiful. She may present this image daily but inside she has insecurities that a lot of us can relate too.
The chemistry is off the charts between them. A slow burn that smoulders until it catches both of them leaving them breathless.
The story wonderfully written with just the right amount of suspense, no cheating and a swoon worthy happily ever after that Lexxi excels at effortlessly.

I had a great time and was highly entertaining with each turn of the page. The characters are strong and well developed and engaging. With a storyline that flowed smoothly from beginning to the end.

The Long Con is the first book I have read by Lexxi James. I easily read this book in about 2 days. I didn't want to put it down once I started it.
I started reading this book though and felt like I was missing something. I was a bit confused and almost felt like I should have read a book before this one. Then I realized it was just how Lexxi writes and you learn what's happening and the full story at the same time Jaclyn does. Thankfully you get the full story and this book doesn't leave you with any questions at the end.
I really enjoyed these characters and the fact that Jaclyn just seemed like a major bada** and didn't take any crap from anybody. Richard was a great down to earth guy that just wanted to be seen as a different person and not a billionaire company owner. The Long Con had some steamy sex scenes and some great relationships.
This book definitely had it's twists and turns. I was super surprised to find certain things out and to figure out how everything/everyone was related. This book also had it's suspenseful moments but also made me laugh at times. Jaclyn and Richard made a great couple and had some great moments together. This is the first book in the Ruthless Billionaires Club and features Jaclyn and Richard. Jaclyn is an heiress to a huge company, successful, rich, independent and a shark in and out of the boardroom. Richard is the owner of a huge empire and has never been able to get close to Jaclyn to get her to date him because she sees him as playboy and an a-hole.
Richard, with help from others, devises a plan to give Jaclyn everything she wants while also trying to win her heart. But in order to do that, he must become someone else. The long con begins and Jaclyn slowly lets her walls fall and their relationship starts to bloom. But what happens when the truth comes out?
I liked this but I didn't love it. Jaclyn was too "one of the boys" for me. I missed some of the femininity that I was expecting from her. I think a woman can be both strong and feminine even in a man's world. Richard wasn't his genuine self through most of the book and I needed him to be more alpha. I don't know if it's because I've been reading darker romances recently but the dynamic between them just simmered. It never exploded with passion and heat. I wanted Richard to be more possessive and demanding and Jaclyn to be a little softer. The story-line itself was good and I am looking forward to reading the next in the series. Overall, I would say this was a mediocre read for me.
Side note: that 10 carat diamond she got...she gonna go straight to the bottom of the sea haha.

What a delightful read! With a hero who is charming, funny and kind, with more than a touch of Tony Stark, and a strong, but vulnerable, heroine, you can't, for me, go wrong. This is a read to take you out of yourselves and bring you that feel good factor. Well written and truly heartwarming, The Long Con made me laugh and brought a smile to my face. 💖💖💖💖💖

Oh, how I was needing to read a good romantic suspense. I've been in a bit of a slump lately all the books I've read were easily figured out right from the start.
Not this one! I was so intrigued by the con. I honestly didn't know where it was gonna go. I had my guesses but I was wrong and I love that haha.
The Long Con centers around sexy charming Richard who's used to having any woman he wants. One problem he only wants one, Jaclyn the smart and driven C.O.O. of Long Multinational System, and she can't stand the sight of him.
Richard won't let anything get in his way to Jaclyn. He's about to pull off the greatest con.
I was so absorbed in this book. I couldn't wait to finish it to see if my guesses were correct. It's one of those great reads when you have to read it all in one sitting and then you are so sad when you do hahaha. That's what's great about re-reads. I'm going to have to read it again to see if I missed any clues along the way.

Jacklyn is COO of her father’s company and he wants to sell, so that Jacklyn doesn’t follow his path to loneliness sitting behind the corporate desk. I couldn’t put this book down. The characters were fun and engaging and I enjoyed the dynamic between Richard and Jaclyn. Jaclyn has past hurts that she addresses in the book which I felt provided a great moral side story. A fun and easy to read story but everything is not as it seems!

I am never disappointed when I pick up one of Lexxi's books, she brings the story to life as if you are partaking in it yourself. The sexy love scenes will set the book on fire.

This blurb drew me in like a moth to a flame, I was INTRIGUED after reading it and immediately wanted to read this. I will tell you that it definitely delivers a heartwarming, but suspenseful romance read that will keep the reader on their toes and trying to figure out what will happen next.
I am very impressed with the book and the with the way that it was written!
All in all, if you want a book that will give you all the twists and turns and a fun story that will keep your attention the whole way through and a totally swoony story, I totally recommend checking out this book. I know that I will be looking at other books by Lexxi James as well! I give it 4.5 outta 5 stars, great job to the author!

I really enjoyed this story! I love the 'con' plotlines in books, but this one was done in a different way, and I wondered why he was really conning someone he seemed to care a lot about. Was it just an act, or something else?
The characters were great fun, I laughed a lot at things they said, and I loved the twist at the end. It was an emotional ending, but tied the whole story up in a fun and sweet way.

I wasnt too sure about this one at the start. Going in knowing I'm reading about a con had me apprehensive but it did not take long for me to fall in love with Richard!
Watching these 2 overcome obstacles and their own stereotypes was wonderful to witness.

At first, I wondered about the title but it perfect for this story, very apt in a few ways.
Jaclyn Long is a conquest for Richard yet is she really? The story centers around these lead characters and their blossoming relationship which is based on misinformation, at least from one side anyway.
Jaclyn is a very determined, focused workaholic who aims to take over her father’s company. She doesn’t trust easily, with good reason, and yet there is hope about her, a vulnerability that softens her and makes her more real.
Richard is also work driven however this scheme of his worried me from the start as I could see it backfiring spectacularly. He is self-assured and strong-willed but knows how to treat women well when he sets his mind to it.
The story has some great descriptions of characters, settings, and scenes. There are some fabulous expressions too, for example- “... as appealing as a cappuccino colonoscopy.” It really says it all in very few words. 😆 Like this example, there is a good sprinkle of humor throughout the story that has you chuckling. There are some other tense moments too, as well as some heartfelt ones.
All in all a well-balanced storyline that is fast-paced and very easy to read. I would really like to know Margot’s story now.

Jaclyn Long is a conquest for Richard yet is she really? The story centers around these lead characters and their blossoming relationship which is based on misinformation, at least from one side anyway.
Jaclyn is a very determined, focused workaholic who aims to take over her father’s company. She doesn’t trust easily, with good reason, and yet there is hope about her, a vulnerability that softens her and makes her more real.
Richard is also work driven however this scheme of his worried me from the start as I could see it backfiring spectacularly. He is self-assured and strong-willed but knows how to treat women well when he sets his mind to it.
The story has some great descriptions of characters, settings, and scenes. There are some fabulous expressions too, for example- “... as appealing as a cappuccino colonoscopy.” It really says it all in very few words. 😆 Like this example, there is a good sprinkle of humor throughout the story that has you chuckling. There are some other tense moments too, as well as some heartfelt ones.

At first, I wondered about the title but it perfect for this story, very apt in a few ways.
Jaclyn Long is a conquest for Richard yet is she really? The story centres around these lead characters and their blossoming relationship which is based on misinformation, at least from one side anyway.
Jaclyn is a very determined, focused workaholic who aims to takeover her father’s company. She doesn’t trust easily, with good reason, and yet there is a hope about her, a vulnerability that softens her and makes her more real.

Full of drama, suspense, and a twist I wasn’t prepared for, The Long Con was everything I didn’t know I wanted. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about the novel in the beginning when all it took was hair dye and a shave to make Richard practically unrecognizable by Jaclyn but I was surprised with how I was able to overlook it the further I got into the story.
Jaclyn and Richard are both headstrong and determined to succeed in the business world. This makes them somewhat enemies to begin with but by the end of the novel you’re starting to wonder why in the world they were apart for so long. I loved their chemistry and Richard is a book boyfriend I can definitely get behind.
Lexxi didn’t disappoint with the twists and turns throughout. I was happy with how it kept me intrigued the entire way. This was my first novel by the author, but I will definitely be back for more!

Her love is her father's business that she is about to be the next CEO. Jaclyn has put up wall because everyone she meets wants her for her money and not her. Jacyln finally meets a guy that wants her for. Jacyln is shocked to discover that this perfect man is actually the multi billionaire Davis R. Black and that he is after her father's company. Jacyln feels betrayed by the biggest con ever and will she be able to forgive him in the end. Great read.

"The Long Con" will keep you glued to the pages. Its a humorous, easy read, that's hard to put down. I liked that several characters from Lexxi's, Alex Drake series play a part in this books storyline.
Every time Jaclyn Long thinks she has found the right guy. She comes to learn their either after her money or company. These men lie, cheat and steal to get what they want. Every relationship goes down in flames. Jaclyn's Happy Ever After is her taking over the family business and stepping into her father's shoes as the CEO.
That is until Richard Austin steps into her life. He is an average kinda guy, who expects nothing from her but honesty. Richard comes to her rescue saving her from the clutches of a fraudulent pig. Who had to abduct her & keep her drugged in an attempt to make her marry him. (This character is one from Lexxi's, Alex Drake series.)
Richard proves that every one of Jaclyn's theories about men are just wrong. Jaclyn has found the one man who deserves her heart. That is until she witnesses her Prince Charming up to what she can only assume is no good.
Does Jaclyn stay and find out the truth behind the relationship? OR Does she turn and run the other way, without taking a chance to listen? Will Richard be able to help Jaclyn realize that their story starts long before now? This pair has actual history. It made my eye's well up with tears and made me melt.
Another must read by Ms. Lexxi James.

Jacyln and Richard are actually a great example of the double-money/power struggle/balance couple. She’s independent and yet not fraught with family jealousy or internal corruption. He’s a tech mogul but isn’t a complete a$$hole alpha. His motivation and method are absolutely adorable in trying to get the woman he loves to be his forever. Nothing is really contrived and the reveal at the end, while foreshadowed, works seamlessly in the story line.

Richard is a man who can get any woman he wants, well 99.9% of them anyway since the one he wants badly won't give him the time of day. She's Jaclyn, a smart, sassy, sexy heroine who is all about her family business, plus to her, Richard screams playboy, and she doesn't have time for all that. Richard has finally come up with a place to get close to Jaclyn, but he's hiding things & we all know that secrets don't make friends, so while they heat up, I'm sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for that other shoe to drop, making for some f-bomb worthy twists. Lexxi James leveled up with The Long Con, and frankly, EVERYONE should be hitting their one click buttons on this awesome story! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
