A single matchmaker. A local teacher. And one Christmas mix-up.
Paisley Barrett runs Mistletoe, a concierge matchmaking service. During the holidays, business should be booming, but her investors think she's the reason it's not. A thirty-something single matchmaker doesn't inspire confidence in clients. So, they hand her an ultimatum—find a boyfriend by the new year or she's out of a job.
Knox Calhoun puts his teaching career first, much to the dismay of his overbearing southern mother who wants him to settle down. Desperate to avoid the usual holiday pressure, he sets about pitching in with various Christmas activities around the town. His plan is working... until he bumps into his sister's beautiful boss. A kiss under the mistletoe might be in the cards... if Paisley weren't in town on business.
From the author of Birch Harbor and Hickory Grove comes the fifth story in the Indigo Bay Christmas Romance Series.
Elizabeth Bromke writes women's fiction and heartwarming romance. In her stories, she weaves together family dynamics and the triumphs and trials of modern relationships. Echoes of the past flavor her books with nostalgia.
Elizabeth lives in the mountains of Arizona. There, she enjoys walking, reading, and cooking with her husband, son, and their sweet Golden-mix, Winnie.
Paisley owns the Mistletoe Matchmaking app and has a big problem. Her investors think business is down because she's the face of the company and she doesn't have a boyfriend. She has to find a boyfriend before New Year's Eve or they'll pull out their investment. She signs up at Mistletoe under an alias (CarolinaGirl) and meets BeachBum. Meanwhile she meets her best friend's brother Knox and they seem to hit it off even though Knox's sister Shelby claims Knox is a confirmed bachelor.
If you love stories about Christmas and small towns, you'll love this sweet Christmas story that takes place in Indigo Bay. It's a quick read that will get you in the Christmas spirit. I loved all the close calls between Paisley and Knox, and thought for sure they'd figure out who they'd been exchanging messages with on the Mistletoe app. It made me read faster so I could get to the part where they finally figure things out. I loved the setting for the Mistletoe's New Year's Eve party at Knox's family's house near the beach. It sounded like the perfect party where you could meet new people without any pressure.
Elizabeth Bromke has quickly become a must-read author for me with her sweet romances and great characters. I received a complimentary copy. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are my own.
I received an ARC of this book from the author, Elizabeth Bromke, via Bookfunnel and this is my voluntary and honest review . I loved this beautiful clean romance between Paisley and Knox. Paisley owns a dating app named Mistletoe and her investors give her an ultimatum to find a boyfriend or they will remove their funding. In desperation, she sets up her profile on her own dating app. Knox is a high school English teacher whose family thinks he needs a girlfriend so he reluctantly sets up a profile on the dating app Mistletoe that his sister is the VP of. Neither he nor Paisley know each other even though Paisley is his sister's boss and good friend. Knox and Paisley do not reveal their real names or where they work but they connect with each other through Mistletoe and set up a Christmas Eve date. When Knox doesn't show up for the date because his Dad had a heart attack and Knox lost his phone so didn't call, Paisley deletes her profile on the app. After Knox finds his phone, he can't explain why he didn't show up for the date because he can't find his date's profile to contact her. When Paisley and Shelby decide to throw a party for New Year for a select group of Mistletoe singles to try and save the company, Paisley and Knox realize that they were the two who met on the dating app and decide to be each others date for the party. I love a HEA ending and this was the perfect romance. I highly recommend this book.
This is a sweet book that will torture you with the “near misses” the hero and heroine have as they get to know each other through a dating app before bumping into each other in real life. Sweet and charming!
Elizabeth Bromke never ceases to amaze me with her beautiful, clean, romances. This one comes with a holiday twist. I was immediately connected to, not only the main characters, but the supporting characters as well. "The company owner uses her own app to find love" has been done several times, but Bromke has written that particular scenario quite well. This is a very enjoyable holiday read. Imagine for a moment...Christmas lights in the background, curled up by the fire, wrapped in your favorite throw, a steaming cup of hot cocoa or a glass of eggnog in one hand and Sweet Mistletoe in the other as the snow falls gently outside.....
This was a quick, sweet romance, that kept you flipping the pages to see what happens next. It is a festive read that puts you in the mood for the upcoming holidays. Paisley and Knox's story was a fun read and I liked how it turned out. Not what I was expecting, but I wasn't disappointed. Very enjoyable.
This is another great book and the characters of Paisley Barrett and Knox Calhoun are typical introverts and very charming. Paisley runs the Mistletoe Matchmaking Company which has not doing well and the investors thinks Paisley needs a boyfriend because of her business. If she doesn’t have a boyfriend by New Year they will be pulling out.
Shelby Calhoun works for Paisley and has a brother, Knox, but said he‘s only interested in teaching. Paisley and Knox both try the dating app but unfortunate event prevents them from going on a date. Paisley and Knox meet at Knox’s family Christmas Eve party but do they realize their date was with each other?
I received a ARC from the author via Bookfunnel, this is my unbiased opinion
Cute, clean, humorous romantic comedy about a young woman who has a dating service app. Backers think she should be in a romance to be more believable to her customers. Very entertaining read. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. It made me chuckle and hopefully you will too.
This is another wonderful book so I hope everyone will read it! I loved the characters of Paisley Barrett and Knox Calhoun. Paisley runs the Mistletoe Matchmaking Corp. The company has been having a decline and should be much busier. The investor tells Paisley she needs to get a boyfriend by the New Year or they would be pulling out. This definitely leaves Paisley in a quandary as to how she is going to pull this off. Paisley's VP, Shelby Calhoun, has a really cute brother, Knox, but says her brother is only interested in his teaching job and they would not be a good match. They both decide, however, to try the dating app and see what happens. Of course they don't use real names so they are unaware of who each other is. After a failed date due to Knox's dad having a heart attack, Paisley doesn't want anything to do with the situation. They run into each other though at the After The Mistletoe party. Do you think they will realize who each other is? Could the mistletoe hanging over their heads lead them in the right direction? You will have to read this sweet story to get your answers. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Paisley and Shelby,(both single) run an internet matchmaking company called Mistletoe. Paisley needs to find someone to help her keep her job. A single lady running a matchmaking business doesn't really work in others eyes. Where can she find someone......oh yeah Mistletoe. She finds someone on line so the game begins. While joining Shelby on a trip to her hometown of Indigo Bay she makes plans to meet with her internet match. Knox Calhoun (brother to Shelby) decides it may be interesting to see what is out there on the dating scene. He joins Mistletoe, guess where this is leading? This story kind of reminded me of the movie You Got Mail. If you are a fan of sweet romance then you will love this series. This is book 5 of 6 in a wonderful new series. Each book can be read as standalone but you get a lot more joy in reading them all. Sweet Mistletoe
We’ve all probably heard about dating sites on the Internet. There are dozens of matchmaking sites. I actually tried one years ago and I found someone very special, but before we took the big step, I changed my mind. Although I’ve regretted it at times, I still believe it was the right decision. (By the way, that was many years ago, and we’ve stayed friends).
Paisley’s problem is much different. To keep her matchmaking site solvent, she must find a boyfriend — and quickly. Her investors are insistent that she “practice” what she preaches. Be prepared to laugh when Paisley and Knox both come up with silly user names. And how they meet…
This is a great story — and one I’m betting you’ll enjoy a lot…
I received a free copy to review: Expecting a HEA did not, for one second, take away from the tingly, swooney journey, watching Knox & Paisley bumbling their way along love's maze, eventually meeting up in the middle - under the mistletoe! A sweet, small town, family-oriented romance to enjoy any time!
This is a well written book that will keep you turning the pages to see what happens next. Paisley and Knox's story was a fun Christmas romance that was a joy to read. I received a complimentary copy and this is my honest opinion.
I enjoyed this sweet romance. It didn’t go how I expected, but I enjoyed it. There were sweet characters in a small town and a strong Christmas theme. This was my first book in this series.
I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
