An anthology of traditional Australian bush poetry. A celebration of Australia's most beautiful landscapes and people, this anthology features the country's most esteemed storytellers, including Andrew Barton 'Banjo' Paterson, Dorothea Mackellar, Henry Lawson, C.J. Dennis and many more. Be inspired by great feats of horsemanship and hard yakka, moved by the pain of separation and the joy of true love, and heartened by exploits of endurance, mateship and service. Hand-selected by Australian bush poetry champions, this collection combines verse and visuals to vividly capture the true essence of the Australian spirit.
As an Australian I have always loved the dream time and aboriginal culture. This book of poems didn't really include any dream time poems but it was good nonetheless.
My favourite poem was 'lost' it was so heartbreaking!
I did cry at one point during this book because the pages were so thick that instead of a paper cut, I got a CHUNK taken out of my hand. This book is dangerous.
I will be reading some poems from this in the future!
This was such an amazing anthology of Australian bush poetry. I was touched, I laughed, and I cried — this is Australian poetry at its very best. So glad I found this book! Highly recommend it.
