Ever since the metamorphosis incident, Yugami-kun has begun looking at Ryugasaki-san in a very different way... Strange feelings have begun stirring in his chest. He thought the only thing he loved about her was her skin, but what if... just what if... there's more to it than that? Thus continues the daily hijinks of a lizardgirl and the oddball she pines for! Ryugasaki-san hasn't given up on pursuing the boy she loves, and Yugami-kun may well be taking notice. Can love bloom between an increasingly eccentric reptilian girl and the woefully degenerate boy who's obsessed with her cast-off skin? Only time will tell!
The group grows! Demis everywhere. The boy & girl sure make a nice couple. She's head over heels in love, he's totally oblivious. She's even kissed him, & he STILL has no clue. What a dunce. Yeah, she's a lizard girl, but she's super cute, sexy, & such a nice girl. He needs to realize the treasure he has found, and I don't mean the molted skin. And with the events in the last few pages, I am so looking forward to the next volume. Art, incredible. Simply fantastic. Dialogue, very real, very true. You really get how they feel. Characters, believable, likeable, relatable, adorable. You really should be reading this series. A great monster girl/rom-com mashup.
The tone and pacing of the second book is quite different than the first. It feels less like a collection of short stories in a volume and more like a weekly webcomic. Really, the amount of time the author reminds you the heroine is a lizard girl is literally almost every chapter, which is every 5-7 pages. I liked the first volume more in regard to these aspects, but you do get to see their relationship developing a bit more.
Overall, it's alright. I hope the format goes back to the way it was in the third volume, but I'm curious to see how they plan to evolve the plot they have suddenly acquired.
This volume improves what volume one started out with, a budding romance between a lizard girl and a weird boy with a molting skin fetish. The weirdness is slowly being overtaken by the sweet sexiness of Ryugasaki’s feelings for Yugami. Sure, he’s clueless, but I like the slow burn. The last few chapters opened up the world substantially which reminds me of Interviews with Monster Girls, and that’s a good thing. I’m dying to read the next volume and hope it’s selling well enough to warrant a physical printing, or at least digitally. This manga is racing to the top of my must read list!
I felt this volume moved a bit quicker than volume 1 and had a lot more going on, which helped me enjoy it more. I felt some parts felt a bit repetitive. It is STILL very weird, don’t get me wrong, but it was good.
