Rules of the Reapers

Rate this book
Before you drown in the Mobster and Monster Universe there's a few rules you need to know.
Some monsters live in the daylight.
Others play better in the dark.
But one thing they all have in common.
A human soul is priceless.
That's where my story falls.
I’m a Reaper for Death himself.
Tasked with collecting souls for an endless bounty.
But I made a mistake.
Broke a sacred rule.
Trying to keep secrets from Death can only last so long.
Before the end of this story I’m sure I'll have to answer for the crimes I've committed. Until then, make sure to never break a Rule of the Reapers.

This is a new shared world, set in a paranormal world- based in the Seattle area. It is off to a good start; it was a prequel novella to a book. A LOT is going on in this book, and not for the faint of heart. There is sex, several characters tossed at us quickly, and hints of past plots coming at the reader fast. There is enough to keep the reader invested and then stops suddenly to get the reader ready for the upcoming novel. I am interested in the upcoming novel and more about Cat and learning about Raze.

So many secrets

This is the first novella I have read after coming across this new shared world. Off to a great start...this was a really interesting prequel to the upcoming book. This prequel is chalked full of secrets that we get hints off but never really find out. I really felt for Cat as she got the short end of the stick but she tries to leave an impression on a little reaper. I'm excited to see what becomes of Raze in the next book in NK stackhouse series.

Telling a sexual charged tale of betrayal and hopes of redemption is a tall order for a novella but, the author achieved it in a story that makes the idea of doing it with Death not exactly a bad proposition.
The story finds a Reaper or collector of souls attempting to navigate her way back into Death’s good graces after the wrong soul is claimed. Rules of the Reapers teases a secret of an even worse crime the main character committed which leaves the reader wanting a resolution. Overall a good read.

I Give this a Serious 3.5 (I want to also make it 4 stars at the same time Lol) /5, Listing as 4.

This is gonna be a short review.
I’m actually fascinated by that open ending of this novella in all honesty. I have no idea what will happen in the next book How to Ruin My Mafia Reaper, but I’m really looking forward to finding out!
Though I also can’t deny that I am also a bit confused Lol.

Cliffhanger(?): Yes and No?, Lol.

Dark and mysterious plot 🖤

I really like this novella and Cat, the FMC... The plot had me enthralled since the first chapter and the shocking twists and turns had me on edge the whole time... This prequels are really doing a great job of leaving me craving for more, can't wait to read about Raze!!! 😍
