I really enjoyed Spark by Jessica Love. Raine had one goal and that was to focus on her career as an architect and to provide housing for lower income people. She is excited and nervous when she is chosen to lead the presentation seeking investors. Ryan doesn't look forward to attending this presentation but when he sees Raine across the room, he is hooked. She will be his wife and mother to his kids only she doesn't know it yet. Finding Raine becomes his obsession. He knows she is the one for him. But he will have to work hard to convince Raine to give them a chance when his ex girlfriend refuses to let him go. Luckily for Raine, Ryan never gives up.

Raine had everything planned out. She would focus completely on her career to generate the building of affordable housing for the poor. She had her speech prepared and would try to entice generous investors. She wanted to do this and be successful. She had a bad break-up with her boyfriend, so men would no longer be a distraction. She was finished with them. But then she saw Ryan. Both of them can’t take their eyes off each other, until his ex-girlfriend arrived and latched onto him making a pest of herself and ruining his chances of connecting with Raine. So she runs off (this will continue to be a repeating theme).

When Ryan sees her again, he spots someone tampering with her drink which makes her ill. He takes care of her, but when she sees “that woman” again, she runs off. She doesn’t bother asking what happened or who that is or anything. And there is still another incident where she follows the same pattern. By this time, it gets annoying.

I don’t understand why it doesn’t occur to Raine to find out why the allegedly available hot guy seems to have a relentless partner hanging around. And I don’t understand why Ryan would give her so many chances to meet him. That’s not girlfriend material. If you can’t communicate, any relationship is doomed from the start. What is it they say about “three strikes, you’re out”? Hmmmm… If the characters don’t pull the reader in at some point, it’s difficult to appreciate their experiences. It wasn’t badly written, just hit my hot buttons this time.

Not for me - some spoilers

Okay, so I didn't enjoy this book. I'm giving it 3 stars because I found no editorial or grammatical mistakes. It was even well written, not stilted or childish. That being said, I couldn't connect with the story. Raine's defining characteristic, to me, was jumping to conclusions. An ambitious architect that has overcome a very hard early life, you'd expect her not to always run away before learning all the facts. I got quite annoyed with her, quite early on. Not at all what I expect out of a romance book. Ryan is most patient with her, constantly chasing after Raine. To the point where I considered him a glutton for punishment. He has had his own issues, but you don't learn much about them. Instead he seems like a prop in Raine's story, the one dimensional man who fell in love on sight. Also, just as they meet, Raine and Ryan both have people show up from their pasts, seeking to derail them. All of it was very awkward. And it all seemed so unnecessary to have Raine and Ryan each face someone complicating their life for their own agenda. For an instalove romance, to me this didn't read like much of one. I didn't like this book, and I won't be reading the rest of this series.

Spoilers Ahead

This was a good story but so infuriating. The pure number of times I wanted to slap the FMC in the face is astronomical for the length of this book. She NEVER lets the MMC explain anything that’s happening even after he says he will she just runs away. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. When she wakes up after he saved her from her “friend” and her “friend’s” friend trying to roofie her she doesn’t give him a chance to explain what happened, his ex shows up at his door because she crazy and Raine (FMC) just runs away. When she does finally let him explain in his office because unknown to her she had a meeting already planned for him to invest in a project of hers she just immediately then gives into the sexual tension and lets him finger her and she sucks him off. This is a good story but lacks sooo much character development.

Ryan is intrigued by the brainy beauty, Raine, as he watches her give her non-profit presentation. When Ryan rescues her after she gets taken advantage of, things do not go well as Raine assumes the worst and runs. Ryan is determined to win Raine over and prove he is the only man for her. When a clingy woman from Ryan’s past won’t let go, Ryan will have to work hard to prove to Raine that she is the only woman for him.

This is my first time reading a book by this author and I’m glad that I gave it a chance. It was short but entertaining and enjoyable. The characters were interesting and likable for the most part. I did think that Ryan gave Tiffany way too many chances before he escalated things where they needed to be. Raine bugged me a bit since she took off without letting Ryan explain his side of situations. Ryan was very patient with Raine. I liked their happy ever after. I recommend reading this book.

The author has given us characters we can care about. Raine has always been focused on her career, until she sees the man of her dreams at a presentation she is speaking at. Ryan, grudgingly, attends the presentation and realizes that the woman speaking is going to be his wife, even though he does not even know her name.

This Book 1 in the Curvy Infatuation Series is a very well-written hot, OTT, instalove, short romance that has wonderfully-constructed characters with chemistry. This is an interesting story that has wonderfully well-crafted, fun and sexy characters with chemistry. These characters have well constructed histories and they grow as the story progresses. A must read story by a good Author

An absolutely fantastic book one in the Curvy Infatuation series! It is well-developed, emotionally deep, witty, engaging, and well written with drama, lots of ups and downs, witty banter, twists and turns, misunderstandings, good friends, and more. The characters are amazing; the chemistry between them is instant and off the charts. Definitely recommended!

This is the story of Raine and Ryan. Ryan meets the woman of his dreams his future wife and the mother of his children but things don’t go the way Ryan planned and Raine gets the wrong idea, add in a pushy and manipulating ex and you have one hell of a fantastic story I enjoyed it immensely and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

This is the first book in this series. The story was good, the characters were likeable and have great chemistry. It took me a bit to get into this story. Looking to see what comes next for this series. This is a new author for me.

Love wins out generally in the end. when the chemistry is high and when you can put the past where it belongs in the past.

Instalove

In bad need of an editor, the grammar errors and wrong word choice are too distracting. Highly unbelievable, even for instalove.
