USA Today, Wall Street Journal, and New York Times bestselling author Margo Bond Collins is a former college English professor who, tired of explaining the difference between "hanged" and "hung," turned to writing romance novels instead. She now writes urban fantasy, paranormal romance, and science fiction romance. Sometimes her heroines kiss aliens, sometimes they kill monsters. But they always aim for the heart.
This is a review of The Shifter Alien's Stolen Bride by Margo Bond Collins and Nova Celeste.
This is a sweet entry to the anthology that follows Harley who is abducted to be a prize in an alien gladiator competition. Vikar an alien shifter and thief by trade, sees Harley and realizes she is his mate and is the most precious thing he will ever have to steal. Harley who is short and curvy has been lonely waiting for someone and something deeper and more meaningful to give her heart away to. Vikar is overcome with the intensity of his feelings when his mating bond is triggered, and Harley is able to open her heart to him because she's able to feel his emotions and the truth behind his words. I liked this little story and just wished it was longer.
Even though this was an ARC, I will always shoot you straight. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I was given an ARC to review Captivated by the Viking by Lucee Jolie. I have only read that particular story in this book. It is a short novella, a very quick read. I enjoyed the story, even though there was not a lot to the storyline.
Earth has been devastated by Lindworms that have killed most of the females. The few that are still alive are offered a chance to survive off planet by entering the Alien Bride Program for the Vikingr’s. Lena was chosen as a mate, but her stipulation is that her injured mother be able to join her. Her mate Torsten has agreed. He comes to earth to get her and gets her away just as a Lindworm tries to attack. She is worried about her mother and sister, but there is nothing she can do. As she and Torsten get to know each other, the attraction is immediate. They bond quickly and Torsten promises to pressure his commander to keep his work.
This is a very short, but good book. Definitely worth reading!
The Shifter Alien's Stolen Bride Margo Bond Collins
Short but good read!
Haley Harper is in Greece doing a summer internship for her work study program. It was the summer of her dreams! She was walking home alone on her last night there when she is abducted by three huge winged aliens. She wakes up in a cage in a coliseum surrounded by aliens fighting over her. She is to be the grand prize for the Gladiator Games.
Vikar Vons is a thief by profession. He is at the arena to do a little pick pocking. As soon as he sees Haley he recognizes her as his mate. How is he going to steal her in front of 30,000 fans and a ring full of competitors? He never walks away from a challenge!
This anthology is huge and contains many new to me authors, I started with the author I read all the time and review that one first. I'll spotlight more once I read them.
Pirate Aeden Xerxi and his crew are in deep trouble when they are apprehended by Lurian enforcers. Now they await their sentencing. The judge is Karangi and if you are following this series you will notice a resemblance to someone. Specifically one Professor Katila. Aeden is concerned for his crew and agree to a longer sentence for himself if the judge reduces there's to 3 years instead of the 5 just offered. Seeing something in their history the Judge makes a decision to offer them something a bit unusual. It seems the Intergalactic University is seeking a new Alien Abduction teacher. Since he and his crew have on occasion abducted aliens they are the perfect choice for this unique postition.
I have to say Professor Katila seems to have a bit of an obsession with Peritus aka Earth. She seems to send all her students there to do their abductions. With cameras and microphones installed on their ship to record the process for their students, Aeden selects his target.
May is about to end her life, she's struggled so long and leaving a letter in her suitcase at the Inn she heads to the cliffs. Instead of falling when she steps off she starts flying, well sort of. A tractor type beam has intercepted her and brought her to the ship. Because of the angle she was held her clothing is askew and her breasts are revealed. I laughed out loud at the things Aeden is thinking, but instead of moving forward to the probing they have a problem.
Threatening ships are approaching them and in spite of being told not to say anything, May does the unthinkable and yells out she's a captive.
Lots of Star Trek references here have me giggling when May is surprised they have no idea what she's talking about. Also the defensive maneuver they execute makes her sick. The cure, well lets just say things heat up really fast from here, beginning with the probing.
Lots of fun, plenty of laughs and kindle melting heat!
The Alien Shifter’s Stolen Bride by Nova Celeste and Margo Bind Collins This one is short and fast, yet satisfying. I’d love to see it expanded into a novella, but as it stands, it’s a fun quickie read about an alien werewolf and a young woman who are soul mates.
Her Alien Lover - Tricia Schneider This one starts with one of the funniest meet-cutes I’ve read in a while, and the sweetness just continues from there. For a short story, this one has a story arc that feels complete, with the promise of more adventures to come. A great story.
Theirs to Keep - Sadie Marks I enjoyed the tone of this short story, how it was detached in the beginning when backstory was being presented, which contrasted from the later chapters, where you could really feel her emotions. The world set up in the prologue feels so eerily similar to our own, almost as if this could possibly be our future. That, in itself, is the hallmark of a good science fiction story.
***** The Shifter Alien’s Stolen Bride - Margo Bond Collins - 5 stars ***** Human Harley is cataloguing the errors she made that resulted in her being locked in a cage, prize of a gladiatorial competition. Vikar is a thief, and the woman in the cage is his mate. How can he steal her with a stadium full of spectators looking on?
A delightful, quick, sexy read.
**I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book**
Alien Abduction for Pirates by Skye MacKinnon- This is such a fun story. Smooth transitions and great pace. There are funny moments and good heat!! The characters have a great connection. I really enjoyed this.
These two stories were very enjoyable to read and review in this box set that has a assortment of Alien Romance stories by well known writers. This box set gives a taste of their writing styles. "Captivated by the Alien Viking" by Lucee Joie is a enjoyable short story to introduce her series (Galactic Pirates) and it made me curious to check out the first book "Rescued by the Alien Viking". This story is about Lena who is marrying a alien through the Vikingr mail order bride program to save her mother from the dangers of the lindworms that claim and lay eggs within the human females and Torsten, Vikingr warrior whose race hunt the lindworms and her chosen mate. Will Torsten honor the marriage contract of saving her mother? This story is a preview of Lena and Torsten's story. "The Shifter Alien's Stolen Bride" by Margo Bond Collins is a enjoyable story about Harley Harper, tour guide, who is abducted while walking the sites of Athens, Greece woke up in a alien arena locked in a cage and Vikar Vons, thief, who is entrance and determine to claim the female who is his mate but must first steal her away. Will Vikar succeed? ARC
These are really fun short stories that give you a peek into different series that the authors write in. Two of my favourites were Captivated by the Alien Viking and The Shifter Alien's Stolen Bride. Captivated, by Lucee Joie, gives us more exposure to the lindeworms - beyond creepy! - and how our couple met. It's a fast read but it does showcase how the world has changed and what choices/sacrifices you have to make to survive the worst case scenario. In The Shifter Alien's Stolen Bride, we get a classic Margo Bond Collins short story that's set in between one of her series and one of Nova Celeste's. I love alien abduction and love the clarity that desperation makes for the characters. This one features a mysterious character that just can't leave our gal locked in a cage as a prize for someone else. Their chemistry is off the charts and I enjoyed the thrill ride this read gave me. All great fun, and so many short stories by other fab authors that I can't wait to finish the book!
Haley is sitting in the dark staring at the Parthenon on her last night in Greece studying history. I thought it was a cute set of twists when the story starts with Haley sitting in a cage in the middle of a Roman style coliseum as the prize for the winning alien monster looking beings while she recites all the things she did wrong on earth the night that she was kidnapped by scary, winged creatures. For the length of the story, the world-building and description of the different creatures was pretty good. Vikar is an alien who is wandering around the viewing area of the coliseum when he realizes that the female in the cage is his mate and he needs to figure out how to get her out of the cage and steal her before the fights are over and she becomes some monster's prize. He is not from this planet, but visits it often and has his own berth for his spaceship. He gathers a couple of his friends who are other types of aliens to help him recover Haley. The story has a lot of humor, a little romance and some steamy sex. It is a fun, easy read.

IMPORTANT: I was asked thru BookSprout to review the story "Theirs to Keep". I was not given the opportunity to read the entire anthology, which may or may not have changed my rating. So I can only review and comment on the one story I read.
I am not sure what to say about this story. It was really, really short and to be honest, I was told it was a short story that was part of an anthology, but it did not go into much detail. When I started to read it, I thought I was reading the prologue and before I knew it the story was over. I expected a story within a compact box (so to speak) but I did not get it. I honestly cannot determine if I like what and how this author writes because there wasn't enough to read. I am shocked. I expected way more from the description, but it wasn't there. Very disappointed. Maybe had I read the entire anthology and just this one story, I may have felt different.

I am reviewing Margo Bond O'Collins story (The Shifter Alien's Stolen Bride: A Short Story in the Captured & Captivated collection).
Harley is a short, round piglet of a woman, which is refreshing. Her last night on a ho-hum Greek vacation turns south when 3 aliens capture her as a prize. Her only chance is to follow Vikar when he arranges to save her from her cage. For such a short story you cannot expect twists and well-developed supporting characters, but I was impressed by the little touches. The beginning drew me in with her tongue-in-cheek description of the events. The technology adds a nice touch.
But the ending is TMI. If you don't want an excuse for the sexual outcome, you might want to skip this read. If you want to feel a nice flush, it is a fast, fun story.

I received an advance copy of one of the stories in this anthology and when I was ready to review it, I found out it was part of this anthology. I already owned it so I have been reading it so I could do a review on the entire anthology. The story I originally read was "The Shifter Alien's Stolen Bride" by Margo Bond Collins. I normally like her books and I found this one to be a fun, fast moving, steamy and entertaining read. I did want it to be longer with an epilogue but there are other books connected to this one so I'm sure more of the story will show up elsewhere.
As I read through this book, the various authors were all very different with their characters, world building and story lines. Some were outstanding and I'd give them 5 stars, a few weren't to my liking at all rating a 2-3 on my gut reaction scale and most were a solid 4 star read. The collection is worth the price and if you like abduction romances, you'll find a lot to like. Some were funny, some were touching, some had a lot of danger and action and some had romance, steam and they all had love at the end. Enjoy!
Vikar is a wolf shifter who is far happier living his life as a pickpocket than anything else. He ends up on the planet by accident more than intent. He sees an opportunity to make a bit of money which brings him into contact with the prize for some gladiatorial contest Harley, who just so happens to be his mate. They both feel the mate-bond but is it enough and will she want to go home to Earth? Let's face it, having discovered that not only are we not alone in the galaxy but it seems that slavery is still very much accepted here and most of the aliens are not pleasant will finding one nice alien outweigh it all? This is a novella length book and though shorter it doesn't mean that you don't get to find the characters likeable and or that they are less than just two-dimensional. The wrting is humourous and clever. I really enjoyed this so much that i really wish that this was a longer book. This is a review of Theirs to Keep by Sadie Marks. This is the story of Dama (formerly Naomi), a human, who is repeatedly sold among an alien race who train her to be a "Pain Receiver" which is a submissive and masochist human slave of the Sadec race. Being a slave does not generally mean treated badly, but being more like a pampered pet. By the time she is rescued from a horrible Sadec man, she is a shell of her former self, and has to be taught how to find satisfaction in her role again. She finds strength in finding herself again. This story is entertaining and wonderfully dark, as one would expect from Sadie Marks. The ending is not joyous, but Dama does find her happiness and falls in love.

I received a copy of this ARC book from Booksprout to give my honest and unbiased review of Captivated by the Alien Viking by Lucee Joie. The beginning of the book started out simple enough, but it quickly escalated into an exciting quick read. Lena agreed to marry a Vikingr (Torsten), to save her mother from creatures that use females as hosts for their eggs. The chemistry between the two characters were easily established throughout the book. I was really captivated by the storyline and how well written the book was. I was also sad to see it end so quickly. The descriptive writing style made it very easy to become immersed into the book. I would highly recommend this book to my friends and family. I will read more books from Lucee Joie. Great short story cannot wait for the full story of Lena and Torsten.
This review is for the short story "The Shifter Alien's Stolen Bride."
I am a fan of Margo, but have not read her interstellar brides series yet. After reading this story, it is going in my wishlist.
I was hooked by the burb where the woman is tour guide at the acropolis. She ends up as a captive and a prize in a deadly battle taking place right outside her cage. I loved how her hero was not one of the participants, but a thief at the battle to keep his skills sharp and also make some money in the process. The impossible task of getting her out of the center of an arena is now a challenge versus something that can't be done.
Happy ending that will lead to the desire to binge more in their world.
I received an advanced copy of this story for an honest review.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This review is for the short story: The Shifter Alien's Stolen Bride. Harley never thought that her last night in Greece would see her abducted by aliens. Sitting in a cage while huge winged things battle for her has her wishing she had stayed in her hotel room and packed for the flight home. Vikar is strolling through the crowd watching the gladiators fight when he spies his mate in the cage. What's a master thief to do? A fun instalove story with lots of heat. Short, sweet, and to the point. Both Harley and Vikar are fun to read. I enjoy reading short stories from familiar authors because I get to see a different side of them. Now that I've read this story, I will be looking for this collection. If you like instalove stories with a scifi twist, pick up this gem.
My review is for The Shifters Alien's Stolen Bride by Margo Bonds Collins Harley Harper wanted to give the image of not caring what others thought of her, but her self-esteem was not healthy. A series of mistakes was what it took for Lady Fortune to turn her luck by offering her a great fright and a leap into the arms of her future. Dress up girl! The rewards come when you don't expect them. I liked Vikar Vons' character, skilled thief, and his adventure toward steal his mate. I was intrigued by his cunning and especially his mysterious origin. A short, interesting and entertaining story with some action, suspense, the funny comments of Harley and the passion that overflowed her and Vikar. Voluntarily reviewed this copy that I received free from Booksprout and I liked.
The Shifter Alien’s Stolen Bride by Margo Bond Collins
This short story is charming and funny. Both lead characters are amusing and the instalove emotional psychic bond is well portrayed. The story is dual POV, well written and edited, and I wished it was longer.
Her Alien Lover by Tracey Schneider
This short instalove story is dual POV but with greater detail from the female lead. Her character development is significant and the relationship the lead characters build is special given the short time it happens in.
The story is well written and edited, and I enjoyed it.

I’ve only read one of these books and hope to read more when this collection is live but here is my review for Captivated by the alien.
This was a quick read but it was so good that I wanted more of what happens next. Lena lives on earth that's bearly liveable and has these evil Lindworms that only want females to breed with the men they have no interest in at all and now to save her family Lena has agreed to a match and to marry with a Vikingr alien that’s helping earth and after she is married her mother and sister can come and live with them on his planet and finally be safe and off earth. An enjoyable read and now I’m looking forward to read more from this author.

My review is only for the short story, Captivated By The Alien Viking, by Lucee Joie.
This was a very well laid out short story. There was a decent amount of world building and character development, so that it didn’t feel like I was lost in terms of where this story fit into this series. It did feel like there was a lot of missing story though, so I was thrilled to see that Lena and Torsten’s story is going to be developed into a full-length story so that all of the unanswered questions are addressed. Definitely got me excited to read more books in this series!

*This review is only for Margo Bond Collins’ story, The Shifter Alien’s Stolen Bride.*
Very short and steamy read! I’m all for the alien romance scenario! Harley finds herself taken prisoner by some aliens and placed in a cage, where she’ll be the prize for whoever wins a gladiator type battle. Luckily for her, alien Vikar, has some sly moves and helps Harley out. Instant attraction between these two! There’s some fun action too; inside the bedroom, as well as, outside of it. This one is a very short read, so there’s not a lot of story development, but still an entertaining story. A nice quickie.
I read "The shifter alien's stolen bride" by Margo Bond Collins What a great short story, I can't imagine how good all the books in this collection are. Margo's book is a standalone with no cliffhangers. Harley is in Athens Greece in a summer work-study program when she makes 8 mistakes that land her in a cage on another planet. Vikar is a thief and he has just seen his greatest target, his Mate. Now he just has to steal her in front of an entire auditorium of aliens fighting for her as the prize. Exciting and Hot! Shifter Alien's Stolen Bride - Harley had been in Athens Greece during the summer and it was her last night there when suddenly alien kidnap her and take her to another planet. Vikar, a werewolf, was watching an arena battle when he spotted his mate in a cage off to the side. Getting help from friends, they manage to get to his ship.
This is a very short story, so the characters are a little light on the details and backstories, but the storyline is a good one. Harley learns quickly and accepts her fate with Vikar. Loved their joint acceptance of their feelings and mate pull through their mate bond. This fits in nicely with the different series that the author has. I enjoyed it.

... Harley finds her passion in Margo Bond Collins Shifter Alien’s Stolen Bride
Harley is studying history in college because she enjoys it, not because she has a plan for her future, and a passion for what she wants to do with herself.
Vikar’s dubious past just might make him the perfect person to pluck Harley from a less than ideal present. Here’s hoping she shares his belief their meant to be.
This done in one quick read is a quick little adventure about trusting your instincts.
I love these anthologies, I get drawn in by an author I’m familiar with, and find myself discovering other others before I’m done.

I am reviewing The Shifter Alien's Stolen Bride by Margo Bond Collins. Harley Harper finds herself snatched from the streets of Athens by weird looking guys with wings. The next thing she knows she is in a cage with gigantic aliens leering at her. Ugh. When a mechanical "bug" shows up in her cell, she doesn't hesitate to stick it in her ear. When a male voice tells her to get ready to run and calls her " mate", she just does as instructed and hopes the voice's owner is a better choice for her survival.

I read 'The Shifter Alien's Stolen Bride' by Margo Bond Collins and Nova Celeste, and this review is based on that story in this collection: Harley was in Greece on a work-study program through her university in Iowa, and it was her last night there, and so far she hadn't had that fling with an attractive Greek man. She gets kidnapped by some aliens, and they put her in a cage (as a prize), Vikar (an alien from the Drovek planet) spots her, and plans to steal her for himself. Will Harley want Vikar to save her? I enjoyed this quick steamy romance story, and liked both Harley and Vikar.

I’m reviewing The Shifter Alien's Stolen Bride by Margo Bond Collins. This is a steamy short story that begins with aliens abducting Harley from Athens. She awakens in a cage in a kind of Coliseum. She doesn’t know what their plans are for her, but you can bet she won’t like them.
Vikor is a pick-pocket working the crowd. He sees Harley in a cage and immediately knows she’s his mate. He just has to figure out how to get her out….. Once Vikor gets Harley on his spaceship, it gets pretty steamy! Enjoy this quick slice of life--perfect for a lunch break or waiting in the doctor’s office.
