In the prologue to the Hughes Investigations Series, Caela and Ian discover a pattern.
Cases that seem solitary and random, may well not be.
Still relatively new at the PI job, Caela takes risks she might later regret.

Sophomoric writing style mixed with unlikable characters that are poorly developed. I'm only giving it 2 stars because the editing was good. Now back to the characters and the actual story. Privileged kids acting like PI's without any common sense. Enough evidence in the beginning of the story for cops to convict, but let's drag it out for no apparent reason, maybe create a false illusion of suspense and action, both of which fall flat because of the stupidity of the characters. Maybe I should only give it 1 star after all.

Pay Attention

This is a very clever written book. It keeps you on the edge hoping, events doesn't happen as you are sensing the vibs. The last page give one the insight of an insane criminal mind. A good read

Nope

I don't know maybe Bored or just not in the mood but if a story doesn't catch my interest in the first few pages an I start skipping to the next then clearly not recommended.

Prequel to the Hughes Investigations series - a short story to introduce characters. The protagonists are young adults and seem to be totally mis-matched. Was interesting enough that I finished it - not interesting enough to compel me to start the series. If you're looking for a quick short story read this might just work for you.

Not a lot of imagination in this shortie. Cardboard characters. Routine dialogue.
