Their differences separate them—the fate of their world binds them.
Laria never planned to make an alien planet her permanent home, and she certainly never planned to get caught in the middle of a power struggle between members of the inhabitant’s ruling family. Things change when she is tasked with retrieving a package—a gorgeous male with intense jade green eyes, a body rippling with muscles, and shimmering scales begging to be touched.
Jardun is an elite warrior, a protector, a guardian to the ruler. When the leader is infected with a deadly toxin, and the physician capable of developing a cure is abducted, he turns to the humans, the only allies on the planet with the knowledge to assist with a rescue.
What he expects are males trained for combat, males who can help him complete his mission. What he gets is Laria, an intoxicating creature with eyes the color of the midday sky. The infuriating female can wield a blade better than any battle ready soldier, makes his tail twitch, and possesses the alluring scent of a mate.
With time running out and the future of both races depending on their success, can Jardun and Laria overcome their differences long enough to find the cure…and explore the connection growing between them?
Rayna Tyler is an author of paranormal and sci-fi romance. She loves writing about sexy alpha heroes and the sassy heroines who turn their lives upside down. Whether it’s in outer space or in a supernatural world here on Earth, there’s always an adventure filled with suspense.
A very entertaining story. Jardun is an elite warrior, one of the King’s guard. Laria is a kick arse female who knows how to protect herself. When they are thrown together to rescue a doctor and steal an antidote to save the King, their desire for each other grows between them. Plenty of action, well written, this is the first in a series. Although they have saved the King, the bad guys are still out there.
I enjoyed this story. Loads of a action and adventure. Loved the strong women in this story. The world building was very well constructed. I would recommend this book.
This book needs to be reviewed again by Amazon and be placed into its actual category, strictly science fiction. There is nothing to do with erotica and barely even romance to make Amazon place this book here. My three stars have nothing to do with its placement or wrong placement, nor the fact that there is no erotica and very little romance; the three-star rating is because the book rambled. My lord did it ramble, with too many posturing scenes between men's and women's warrior abilities, so many hints that there might be a "fated-mate" moment between the two main characters with nothing ever happening until I think that last three chapters and even then, the moment that should have placed this book into the romance/erotica section was so tame, I almost skipped it. I was already skipping paragraphs cause so much of it was like deja-vu, within the same book, I didn't need to, nor want to read anymore. I gave the book three stars, not less, because if you cut out all the extras and unnecessary back and forth and had it in the science fiction category, the story would be entertaining to read.
This is a new author and a new world for me. There was a HEA for Jardun and Laria but the book finished with the possibilities of future books. Laria and the rest of the human women are strong fighters, feisty and the closest of friends. Jardun and his fellow ketaurrans were very protective of females and had a hard time believing women could be warriors. I adored the women, their snarky comments and their spirit. Although the guys were great warriors, I enjoyed their personalities and their interactions with the women. I found myself smiling several times. There are intense moments, very little sex some scary creatures and a great story that held my attention from beginning to end.
This is a quick and easy read. The storyline is well-crafted, intriguing, suspenseful, has drama and steam. The characters are defined, and likable with sizzling chemistry. I liked it.

Laria, in her role as acquisition specialist, was sent by Burke to retrieve a package from Aztrashar, one of the few remaining inhabitable cities on Ketaurrios. It sounded simple, but it was not. She went into the dilapidated bar to meet with Kowhl. One of the lizard-like Luzardees sitting at a table identified himself as Kowhl. She again noticed her backup and traveling companions, Celeste and Sloane, had still not arrived – not unusual since they were chronically late for everything. Expecting a small box or crate to pick up, Laria was surprised that her package was a male. He was chained and cloaked, but his pale green skin hinted that he was a Ketaurran. But as she paid the Luzardee the bounty for the package, he stated he wanted to renegotiate and wanted higher payment. She told him to take it up with Burke. So he said she could spend the afternoon in his bed instead. Again, she said Burke did not allow that and might even pay them a visit to show him. Unexpectedly, the Ketaurran growled and shook off the hood of the cloak. To her surprise, Laria reacted strongly to the handsome male!
Jardun could not believe Burke sent a female to pick him up! He had met Burke during the war when they both protected the survivors who were caught in the planet’s fighting. He had asked Burke for humans with strong fighting abilities and a talent for procuring items by any means possible. He had not expected a female. Jardun had been an elite warrior who protected their leader; now he tracked traitors and mercenaries who supported the old king’s younger brother, the one who had tried to steal the throne and started the war. He noticed the female’s taking stock of their surroundings constantly, just as his own team would do. He asked her to free him and she firmly refused, telling him he would take him to Burke as instructed. He like her fiery spirit and her honor. She showed no fear. Maybe he had underestimated her.
As expected Kowhl and his crew had come after them and attacked. While they fought the 5 attackers, he sneaked around to kill Jardun, telling him he would be rewarded for proving the death of a Vryndarr! Laria was stunned – they were the drezdarr’s elite guard would never leave their leader’s side. When the fighting ended, Celeste and Sloane finally showed up. They wondered why Burke had them doing bounty work! So he showed up and told them! Burke had two other Vryndarr with him, and Jardun knew him on a first-name basis. She was furious, knowing they had been used in some sort of bigger game plan she hadn’t been included in.
Jardun asked Laria to come with him while he explained why they needed her help. A human scientist had developed a deadly toxin to target his race – and their leader had been infected with it. Through the actions of a traitor, the one person who mentored with the humans and had the medical experience necessary to develop a cure was kidnapped, along with any of the advancements he had developed. Jardun was able to get the physician’s location from Kowhl, but Kowhl betrayed him to get more money once he knew he was a Vryndarr. That same toxin could be developed to target humans, and he hoped that information would get Laria’s commitment. She agrees only to talk to Celeste and Sloane before they make a decision. Will they help? Can they rescue the physician in time? And if they do, can he develop a cure before all of the king’s organs shut down?
This book was outstanding! From the very first page, the tension mounted as Laria approached the untrustworthy Luzardees. And then the reader finds that the “package” they retrieved is not what he seems either! The story line never slows and the characters are so intensely drawn that the reader has unquestioning confidence in them. This was edge-of-the-seat excitement and I loved every minute of it! Grab your copy and see how the strong females demonstrate what humans are capable of!
Laura is sent by Burke to retrieve a package in Aztrashar on the planet of Ketaurrios. After the 5 year war between two brothers the devastation was astronomical. The bar, which was as destination, had seen better days. Now it was a preferred location when dealing with lowlife, bounty chasers ,thieves and cutthroat mercs. 3 Luzardees n another male were the only customers. Her contact was Kwohl, which turned out to be one of lizards. Which surprised her. A package should be a small box, crate containing food, supplies or maybe stolen blades. Not a man, or male, as the native Ketaurran's preferred to be called. She was supposed to have backup, but they hadn't arrived yet. No problem, she knew how to wield any blade with the precision of an assassin. When the Ketaurran make shed the hood & exposed his face, my stomach fluttered &warmth spread throughout my body. I longed to run my fingers over his entire body. Wait a minute, where did that come from, focus. ( You have a job to do). Jardun is a Vryndarr, an elite warrior who protects the Drezdarr, leader of his people. He's shackled with brugoran ore retrieved from the bowels of the Geborran Mountains. The only metal that is strong enough to detain his kind. But he's perplexed, he requested Burke to send someone to retrieve him, preferably a male - not a draecking female. When they stunned me, I shook off the hood to see the female who felt concerned about me. One glance set my emotions aflame, her enticing scent aroused me. She had honor, a fiery spirit, she also showed no fear of me or the lizards. Umm, interesting!! When Celeste n Sloane finally show they miss all the action, as Jardun n Laria dispose of the lizards. But not to worry, they get their chance later in the story, along with their Cara. Ooh, I loved reading this story. The interaction between the characters was downright hilarious. Kudos to the author!!
Laria, Celeste and Sloane are women who have banded together. They were brought together through a war on a planet their ship had crashed onto. Now Laria is in an unsavory bar picking up a package that her boss, Burke, sent her to retrieve. She finds that instead of an actual package that it is a male. When she finally leaves with him they are waylaid by the one she paid for the package. There is a fight then her friends show up along with the boss. That;s when things turn a little dicey because Burke was withholding information and she is not amused. Jardun is a warrior and is on a mission to find a scientist that he needs to heal his king. He needs the help of humans but is a bit reluctant to use females. Females are to be protected not put into danger much less taught to be warriors. It doesn;t help that he is drawn to Laria in a way that should not take his mind off his mission. Now danger is possible as they seek the cure. Action starts right out along with the hint of feelings. It builds sometimes slowly but throughout it all the story will draw you in and keep you enthralled. Fantastic story and read.

Jardun is the leader of the vryndarr, the elite warriors that serve the drezdarr. Khyron, the drezdarr, has been poisoned and the chief healer kidnapped. He needs help to.rescue him. Laria is human. A teen when the research ship she was traveling on crash landed. The drezarr welcomed her people. His brother wanted the humans gone and waged a war. He was finally defeated, and the human and Ketaurran's have been slowly rebuilding. Laira has been tapped to help mount a rescue mission. The healer is believed to have been taken to the human ship. Laria and her friends, Slone and Celeste know the ship and their commander knows a way in. Ketaurran females are not warriors. While he knows human females can be he didn't know what they could do until he sees Laria in action. Jardun and Laria become close and Jardun suspects she is his ketiorra, his mate. If they don't save Khyron, there may be no future for them. A fun fast paced and a little steamy alien romance. Interesting world building. Loved Jardun and Laria. Can't wait for Slone and Garyck's story. Looking forward to the next book.
very enjoyable sci-fi alien romance. The leading lady Laria along with her crew of women - Sloane and Celeste, were strong women who can fight and defend, but was shown each had their weakness because of the war. The leading man Jardun along with his crew - Zaedon and Garyck were famed vryndarr warriors who also had quirks to their personalities. Jardun seeks help from a old friend (Burke) during the war for help. He's mission is to find the cure that attacking his ruler and his race and to find their missing scientist who might come up with the cure. Burke send Laria to pick up a package which ends up being Jardun. Jardun is surprised his friend sent a women but because the Luzardees reneging on the deal there's a confrontation and Jardun sees the true value of Laria and her team. They decide to work together and along the way a relationship blooms. Can they find the cure in time? Loved the romance, the action and the dialog between the crews. This is well written story that I volunteer to read and review via Booksprout.
Pretty decent story that could have been so mutch more with properly developed plot and more time invested in developing relationship. As it is,the reader is dropped in the middle of story with basic recount of events leading up to the situation in the book. World, especially if you take into account that it is an alien planet,is not developed at all, completely lacking in descriptions or settings of events. Reader is given bare minimum on everything. Yes,the story is fast paced with quite a lot of action, but it all feels too easy, too quick, too uncomplicated, therefore missing the mark of feeling realistic.
Is it a quick and easy read? Yes,most definitely. Does it have enough depth to be memorable of entice the feelings to readers? Nope. If you are looking for light bedtime read, this is a good story to pick up,but if you yearn for an actual good quality adventure with romance, then you may be dissapointed.
I can recommend it only to people, who will read it with full understanding that it is a very light ,very superficial read.
Jardun and Laria are from two different worlds and are fiercely attracted to one another. Both however know this attraction has to wait until their dangerous mission is accomplished. You see Jardun is Ketaurran apart of a humanoid race with some lizard like features. Jardun's king is gravely ill, poisoned by a serious toxin and he needs help from a special group of humans. Laria, is one of those humans. She fights and welds a blade better than most soldiers but she female and Ketaurrans see females as needing to be protected. Oh boy does Jardun and his fellow elite soldiers change their opinions when they see Laria and her other female friends fight. Together they travel through dangerous territory to retrieve the doctor and antidote to the terrible toxin. On this adventure relationships are formed, passion is ignited and love is the ultimate reward. I look forward to reading more from this author. 💖
I was not exactly impressed with the writing. It came across as pretty sophomoric, cliche and somewhat predictable. Some of the scenes seemed forced. I almost decided to stop reading it, but I didn't. I figured the rest of the books would better. I did end up reading the series. Those stories were more enjoyable.
Ignoring the writing, I did enjoy the characters. If you can get past the first book, the rest are ok. If you have nothing better to read, these will be mildly entertaining. There are several deus ex machina events throughout the series.
On a side note, the book covers are crap. At least use the coloring of the male the stories center around. And what's up with cutting off faces? I almost decided not to even start reading due to the lame cover. Clearly, the only description used to make the cover art was "kind of a lizard guy but don't make it too lizardy".
DNF - quit at 47% This flowed really slow, so much more should be happening by the half way point, to keep a reader interested. I just wasn’t getting into this. The characters were flat, I really didn’t feel like I was getting to know them at point I quit. The 3 human girls that are hired/brought in to help the aliens, are pointed out to be some top elite bad asses supposedly, but it’s never really shown just spoken or thoughts. But the feeling I got from 2 of the 3 (Sloan & Celeste) were they aren’t reliable at all. No way I’d want to read about them in the series. The world building was ok, but I just didn’t feel the world building was cohesive enough to coincide with the plot/story line. Not interested in continuing with the series after quitting in the middle of this book.
At my age (62), life is way too short & my time is too important to force myself to read a book I'm not enjoying, especially when there are so many other books out there waiting to be read.
Ok, first off, these women are supposed to be badass. Unfortunately, they seem more like whiny girls who pout when shit don't go their way. It's a big contradiction to what they are supposed to be, and the men are no better. They just follow these goofy acting women, and everything is ok.
The storyline is good and easy to follow. It's predictable. So that can be good or bad. I have very few complaints about the series because I've read worse.
My main complaint is the women. They aren't worries or into espionage or Mercs. They don't really have any skill sets other than self-defense and some sword play.
The second complaint is the men. They are so moonstruck by the women that they would follow them over a cliff without thinking for themselves.
So yeah, 3 stars for an ok book. All because it is a unique concept, and I can't wait to read more with the hopes it only gets better.
Laria is sent by Burke to pick up a package. She doesn't know that the package is a Ketaurran. She is to pay the Luzardees, who are lizards and very untrustworthy creatchers. She ends up having to fight them and therefor save herself and her package. Burke and her friends Celeste and Sloane finally catch up with Laria and decide to help. Little to late to help much. They go to a safe house with Jardun and his friends Zaedon and Garyck. They are all going on a quest to find a cure for a toxin that comes from a suclorra plant. They need to save a scientist to give the antidote to the leader of their people. What an exciting story. Lots of fighting and lots of adventure. It a story you should not miss.

It was an ok read. Entertaining on the side. First I was impressed by the portrays of the female characters. Strong and independent, yet the author seemed to be still stuck in the ancient mindset. Because she attributed them with typical girly behaviour, which is so not necessary and it felt forced. Was that needed to make them look more feminine? That would counteract the whole strong and independent female view point. It was still a mans world. Every action was mainly led by the males. Her bosses, the villains, the Aliens...It makes that talked a out respect and acceptance of the females as equals a farce, in that mindset they treat them like equals at all.
The finale was rushed and anticlimactic. A disappointment actually. For two military trained units fighting side by side against a villain, I would have expected some action and suspense. Which I didn’t get at all.
I was extremely happy I got a chance to read this book! There are some really kick butt characters that get to do some really exciting and nerve wracking things (if you want more details than that you need to go read this book yourself!) I really liked that you get to alternate between Laria and Jardun's point of view, and that it's well labeled when it changes. I enjoyed the dialogue between those two as well as all the supporting characters, who hopefully will get their own stories! I'm hooked on this series for sure!

ONE EXTREME TREAT!!! Crap! Man, talk about kicking ass and taking names. This is one tough cookie. I think I found my idol. The characters chemistry sizzles from the pages and seem to suck you in the vortex until you feel the wind. The way Rayna has the scenes playing out with such realism you feel your along for the ride. You're totally awestruck with the badass heroine as she races against time. The characters are intriguing, authentic and realistic with such depth and qualities its easy to relate. The scenes are written with such graphic detail it paints an amazing backdrop that really makes the storyline pop. Fantastic job Rayna, thanks for sharing this little gem with us.
This is a fascinating human/alien romance story-line. It has a strong female lead as well as the strong alpha male alien which makes for interesting scenes and dialogue. The alpha wants to protect the female, because females need protecting and she’s his mate but doesn’t know it yet! However, the human female has other ideas as she’s learnt to fight and survive and has no intention of being looked down on or thought of as weak. This story has the relationship build as they move through their assigned task/mission. It’s a great read with lots of action and romance. The female characters are trained in combat and have performed missions, yet their actions say otherwise. They don't thoroughly scout, and even though they are, in fact, the back-up they do not provide back-up, they talk and squeal in situations where it is stated they must be quiet and stealthy. There is one in particular who is the source of most of these issues but her actions are just brushed aside so she can be soothed.
The males are elite warriors but even their actions make that status questionable.
I did like Jardun and Laria and some of the side characters as well.
Three human women trained as assassins are asked to help the Ketaurran rulers royal guard recover a doctor and the cure he has made to treat the rulers poisoning.
Once the three women have met the royal guards and know the problem they agree to help, since the kidnapper is a rogue human who wants to kill all the Ketaurrans on the planet, and put everyone else into slavery. The leader of the women Luria, is extremely attracted to one of the guards, Jardun, and they become more attracted to each other as the mission progresses, and at the end the king has some ideas about this, that lead to the next story.
This is an amazing action packed sci-fi romance, I’m not going to give any spoilers and to be honest I really wouldn’t know where to start because there is so much going on in this story but I will say that I really liked these two characters especially Laria she is strong willed stubborn woman and Jardun is her perfect mate and he see’s Laria as a great warrior. This is a fantastic story and I can’t wait to read more from this author and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.
This was my first go at reading alien romance after someone recommended it. Not a bad book - I was particularly pleased at the good proofreading - although I think a decent editor could have tightened it up a little. I found myself more drawn to Sloane; she had a muh stronger personality than the lead female, Laria, who I found a little wishy-washy compared to her friends. Which was a shame considering.
I probably won't be reading much alien romance but this one was good enough to start with. Good, but nothing special.
Laria and many other humans crashed landed on a planet were the inhabitants were somewhat lizard like but able to communicate. Unfortunately in a few years a war broke out and involved the humans and many died, however both sides are trying to live together so that everyone can be healthy unlike the drezdar who is slowly dying from poisoning. Jardun is his right hand male and wants Laria and her friends to help him on a mission to get the antidote. Can they get the antidote and still find love?
Laria is given a task to retrieve a package. She has no idea that she has been sent to retrieve Jardun, an elite warrior. He needs to find a cure for the poison that is killing his leader - and he needs help from Laria to accomplish this. Will they be able to work together well and long enough to accomplish this? And what of their attraction to each other? Love this story!

I loved this alien-human adventure romance. The female characters are strong, confident, smart, and funny; while the male characters, despite their alpha ways, are well developed (in more ways than one!) and open to seeing the women as equals. It is one of those books that will inspire future binge-reading when the rest of the series is published.

Well i enjoyed this book very much. Enough so that I am impatirnt to read the next book in the series. Jardun and Laria had great chemistry. I loved how Laria kept surprising him with her indepedence. Their journey with the others kept me on the endge of my seat. Now, for real. Im ready for the next one. Happy reading! Rating 5 stars

A new series called Ketaurran Warriors and I know I want to read the rest of this series. Laria is human she meets Jardun an elite warrior, a protector, and guardian to the Ketaurran ruler. The ruler has been poisoned and it is up to these two and their friends to get the abducted physician so he can make the cure. There is suspense, drama, danger, poisoning, villains, and romance.
