2.5 A cliff notes of sorts in how to approach your trauma, one that I would recommend that you do accompanied with a therapist as it doesn't go into detail much at all and just gives lots of anecdotes. After doing this for so long, I would think the author would of been aware of this and how triggering this book could be for someone and how they would need much more support than offered in this book.

I have read quite a few books on PTSD and trauma over the years, mainly trying to recover from it myself. This was a very interesting books and lays out the basics about healing from trauma and recommending with yourself. A lot of the information in this book wasn’t new to me, between all of the reading I have done and my own experience with EMDR. The author presents everything in an organized way and provides information on how to find the right treatment and therapist for yourself. At the end of the book, there is a list of different treatments that are commonly used for healing from trauma and I was surprised to come across a few I was unfamiliar with, so that was an interesting surprise. I would recommend this book to anyone who is currently struggling with trauma and PTSD and looking to take the first steps towards healing.

Thank you to the publisher for sending me an ARC of this book.

Thank you to the publisher and to Net Galley for the opportunity.
This is a short book that reads as if your having a therapy session. The author covers trauma from childhood, anxiety issues, depression and victims trauma . Trauma effects on the body are discussed and how trauma affects the body and mind long term if not addressed. I found it a easy to read and understandable from each viewpoint. I would recommend this for anyone going through a trauma or recovery from any trauma.

This book is a quick, concise read about trauma, some trauma therapy clients and their experiences, and various techniques you can use to deal with your trauma. It is important to recognize the effects of trauma on your feelings and behaviour. Learning various techniques to calm and ground yourself is useful. This book doesn't go very deep into the subject but it's a good start.

I read a netgalley copy with a somewhat chaotic layout.

The Trauma Map by Karol Darsa is a great book for those going through treatment for a past that causes depression, addiction, anxiety, trouble breathing, etc. She helps people work through the childhood trauma that is preventing them from healing from a present trauma that occurred in their adult life. She goes through tips on how to heal and learn to take care of yourself first.

Lol I wish i'd read this before starting therapy. Definitely would've been a useful overview ahead of the game.

I got to meet the author, and see the effects of her approach for trauma healing and Reconnect center can do on a loved one.

Dr Darsa delivers hope for trauma survivor to help them heal the past so they can be present. The past doesn’t disappear but it is series of events that happened that don’t have to destroy the present and rob someone of their future.

Her compassionate, science and evidence based approach to healing the most complex trauma is truly amazing.

The book is a great overview of her approach. Anyone can find value in it, from minor childhood trauma to horrific past.

Dr Darsa delivers a map toward healing oneself.
