Sisters of Kilbride

Medieval times and challenges in five stories. Ella, Leanne and Coira are able to escape the evil of a clan chief and find love. Drew is portrayed much nicer than the manipulative harpy in previous books after her evil brother is killed. In the last, a short story, the former abbess in her selfimposed seclusion is able to forgive herself with the help of a former monk.

A Different Family

This series took me by surprise. I originally thought the novels would revolve around a Laird's family and estate. The Convent or Abbey redirected that line of thinking. A genuine sense of family reflects among these Sisters. Even those inclined to be judgemental discovered talents the younger Sisters possessed. Protagonists had lots of personality. Villains were clearly villainous. The plague meted out justice. One very good read.

Epic tale

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this set of books! All of the elements of a great storytelling are here … someone you want to wring the neck of, a robin hood sort of character, men and women who need to find their destiny! You definitely get wrapped up in the lives of the characters. Thanks for the adventure Jayne Castel!

The strong women of the Highlands

The four sisters of Kilbride were young nuns that really didn't belong there. They were strong and intelligent and willing to fight for the underdogs of the conflict. It was a great story.

Good series

Good highlanders series, unconventional nuns each have their own reasons for hiding out and learning how to defend themselves, parts are funny and sad. Beware of lusty love scenes and brutality in some cases with the mean villain.

Another series by Jayne Castel with very well-developed characters and well-paced, engaging plots. Each book in the series is a standalone; however, it's best if you read them in order since Duncan, the main antagonist, plays a role in each one, the series showing his escalating self-centeredness and evilness as he goes after some of the women in these books and tries to kill his half-brother. This series also included a novella for two of the characters who played secondary roles in the first three books but who get their own HEA in this short work.

I really enjoyed each novel. They wove together so sweetly. I would recommend this to friends. I was so glad to hear the story of Shona.

Heroes and heroines, both who come from the saddest situations manage to triumph over some of the hardest trials of their lives.
