OMG! Really?

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙💚💜❤️🖤
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙📓
World building: 🌎🌍🌏🌎🌍
Character development: 👤👤👤👤👤

The setting: Amalfi Coast, Italy; Paris; New York

The Hero(s): Elijah North – worked in Special Ops for the corrupt Lieutenant Colonel Mark Jefferson. Elijah was captured and imprisoned by Adam Bisset (a.k.a. Adam Black) in a church basement in France along with the heroine, Holly. He then took her to a safe house and imprisoned her to keep her safe. He had stolen diamonds that he hid in London Frank’s backpack and everybody seems to want those diamonds.

The heroine: Holland Frank – in Europe to find her sister London who is a travel blogger. London went dark after getting the stolen diamonds from Elijah. After London helps Holly escape from the Safe house, they go on the run for a year, hiding out from Adam, Elijah and the people London owes money. London is a cocaine addict.

The Love Story: Elijah wants to protect Holly and he wants her to be his. However, he doesn’t think he deserves her. They have a very erotic and somewhat twisted relationship. Holly is much darker than you would expect for a celebrated YA novelist.

This story was suspenseful, steamy and so good. I love Elijah and Holly. They are definitely made for each other. The romance was perfect, I liked these two in Diamond in the Rough but they were even better in this book. The story was great, the conflicts in the story were believable and worked well to move the storylines forward and the cliffhanger at the end of this book was even better than the last. I can’t wait to read the next one and I hope Skye Warren is a fast writer. I just loved this book!

In this book we got to find out more about Elijah’s background and both his brothers (Liam and Josh) were in this book. I looked up Skye Warren’s previous books and there are books about both Liam and Josh, so I added those to my TBR and hope to read them as soon as I get some time. Skye knows how to do dark romance very well!

I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

WTF !!!!
*Screaming* *Sobbing*
This book messed my emotions up !!

At the end of Diamond in the Rough, Holly ran from Elijah to help her sister.
At the beginning of Gold Mine we find the two of them in a dangerous situation, till Adam, first, and then Elijah show up.
Holly can't hide the relief to see Elijah again but their relationship is too complicated.
Hate and Love battle each others in their hearts.
They are too different, a future together seems impossible.
And someone is working hard to separate the two of them.

Torn between wrong and right, Holly choose the "easier" way out; but nothing it's easy with Elijah North.

Determined to show her, he is the villain of the story, Elijah do something stupid, but he should know by now Holly is able to face him, to see through him.

They have to decide if their love is enough, if it's worth, before it's too late....

THIS BOOK DROVE ME CRAZY!!!
I'm mad at Holly, i'm mad at Elijah, I'm mad at London and Adam 😤😭 and yet i couldn't stop reading about them.
Elijah's past and the way he see himself shattered my heart 💔
And the end almost killed me: i didn't see that coming!!
It left me screaming and sobbing like a baby girl.
But it was worth it, Skye Warren wrote an incredibly captivating story, and now i can only wait for Silver Lining to finally know if Holly & Elijah gonna have their HEA.

I have been waiting impatiently for the next installment of Holly and Elijah’s gritty entanglement since I finished book one, and let me tell you - it did not disappoint.
A year after the events of Diamond in the Rough, Holly and London have been flying under the radar, staying out of sight of a particular North brother, but everything reignites the minute their worlds collide once more.
I love an ongoing series with a great plot, and even better character development. At no point in a book like this do you ever start to think things are too quiet, or not progressing. Everything in this story is designed to keep you on the edge of your seat, refusing to close the book. It’s dangerous, it’s dark, it crosses some interesting lines, and it’s fast-paced and scorching hot.
It’s also an excellent introduction to Elijah’s two brothers, or - if you’re already familiar - a nice reminder of why you’re #TeamAnyNorth, and it offers an interesting perspective of the goings on and thoughts of the support characters.
It ends abruptly, and it raises as many questions as it answers, but this is another exceptional story set in the rich, gritty grey area of good vs. bad, right vs. wrong, and it will not disappoint you either.

"And if I try to be bold?"description

Gold Mine is the second book in the Diamond Series. Holly Frank is still in a world of trouble and after running from Elijah North it is only a matter of time before he finally catches her. When he gets Holly back into his arms again, it will take a war to tear her away. With Holly still fighting to protect her sister (and her heart), it is inevitable that Elijah will capture her again. This time he won't want to let her go!

description
"Why don't I want a normal relationship?"
Told in multiple POV, Gold Mine is another action pack passionately charged creative work by Skye Warren. Once again, the tension between the main characters is complex and the passion is smoking hot. In addition to the conflict between Holly and Elijah, the stakes are high for Adam Bisset who also has his heart and soul invested in this game.
"Maybe soul mates aren't only for good people. Maybe bastards like me get one, too."
Overall, Gold Mine will appeal to readers who enjoy a darker romance with intrigue, complex characters, and a seriously broken hero. As always, Skye Warren never disappoints.

ღ Diamond in the Rough left me so hungry for more! Then I went in hunt for Gold Mine, I immediately began to read & fell right into the rabbit hole & I fell hard

Lord have mercy , Holly is suspended in a constant state of danger, this woman, just doesn’t know how to stay out of trouble! adding to the suspense of the chase of Elijah North & London’s troubles. We enjoy how the plot thickens in this installment … it seems like no matter what the consequences are so much higher in this one

So, Holly & London have been flying under the radar, hiding from Elijah & London’s past …This story takes place roughly about a year from where Skye left us hanging in Diamond In The Rough with that crazy Cliffhanger!

📚 Hope you enjoy this read & also always keep in mind this is just my opinion+ Also I wouldn’t never discourage anyone from reading this book.
Happy Reading --- Enjoy ……. Paulette Review

You can pretend you’re disgusted with me when I make you come so hard you see God.

How many times have you been able to say that book two in a trilogy was even better than book one? Because I can count how many times I've felt this on one finger. Yes, I said it. Because it never happens for me. Usually book one hooks me, and then book two is slow paced filler. Not this time. Gold Mine was EPIC. It was a deliciously erotic, heart-pounding thrill ride of one jaw dropping plot twist after another. And this girl gobbled it right up!
...I take what I want. It doesn’t have to be more complicated than that, Holly.”
“Have you heard of dating?”
He gives me a small, private smile. “This is better. I don’t want to ask you out. I don’t want to give you the illusion that you can say no, Holly. You’re mine.”

I thought I loved Elijah in Diamond in the Rough, but I was simply not prepared for the full dose of everything that is him in this one. Oh. My. GAWD. This man. He's so incredibly complex but with a vein of darkness that pulses through him. And this time we finally get a peek beneath that mysterious curtain. The layers are peeled back and it made me fall even harder for him.

There's also a delicious underlay of taboo here with a splash of dub con that I was drooling over. Elijah is a man that likes it hard and dirty and did I say OMG? Because OMG.

Holly is just as fierce as she was in the first book. She's fiercely protective of her sister and she's slowly coming to the realization that there's something between her and Elijah when he finally catches her again. That something is a little dark, a little depraved, and a lot delicious. It's unconventional and they're both definitely struggling trying to understand it. Elijah's cravings may run on the dark and depraved side, but Holly craves everything that he has to give.

There's a lot more that gets revealed about the North brothers, so of course I'm already salivating for Josh's book. But then the jaw dropping revelations for Adam happen and I'm absolutely desperate for his book too.

This installment was a non-stop trill ride that I couldn't set down for even a minute. I devoured this book in one sitting and now I'm going through withdrawals until my next fix.

There's a few things that ruined my experience with this book, and I'm still thinking if I should expend another $4.99 for a little more than a hundred pages conclusion after this second one.

In the first book Holly was the baby sister, in the beginning of the story, she was 16yrs old and with her family in Paris, she was also 2 years younger than her rockstar sexy and "super sexually active", big sister.

In this book London is the younger between them... Which weirdly makes her a sex beast and sexually active before her 14 yrs old!
Even flirting and hiding with a tour guy in front of their parents.
This huge change just to justify Holly's protectiveness is wrong in so many levels, that if I was one of those readers that can easily DNF a book and move on, this was a book that I would definitely request my money back.

From that point things just kept going south, but I had to finish it... I always need some closure to the things I start to read (I need to learn how to let it go).

In the first book (and the fucking name for the trilogy), everything was around the millions in diamonds that London have stolen, and everyone wanted back.
So much that Elijah was paying one million in euros for EACH information about London's location.
Well... In this book the Diamonds are just enough to pay off London's debit...
A little bit more than HALF a million!
All those international conspiracy and death and kidnapping for half million? 🙄

What's the point then? It was ridiculous!

It was a mess of a book, it couldn't hold my attention, and if I had to heard one more time about Elijah and "crossing lines", I'll flip it!

Don't let me even start with all the church scene "again" between Adam, Holly and Elijah. Not even my kinky ass found that entertaining.

Those books should be on Kindle Unlimited!
Maybe in the far future, if the last book became free or .99 or into KU, I can finish the trilogy just for the sake of my OCD, but until then... I'm not buying anything else.

Not even that cliffhanger was interesting enough to make me spend my Amazon's credits again.
Fool me once, shame on you...
Fool me twice, and I'm out.

Also I LOATHE to leave bad reviews, so I'm pissed that I couldn't find in me, to write anything positive here!

I'll probably delete it later, when I'll be my zen and balanced self again.
Now I'm just ranting.

I honestly don't even know where to begin with this review, there was so much going on and I don't want to spoil anything for you because believe me you have to experience each of the emotions you are going to feel first hand.

I found myself on the edge of my seat through most of this book with everything that was happening! From Paris, to the Italian countryside, and finally New York City, Holly and Elijah had me captivated every step of the way.

Gold Mine was goodish. I finished wanting to know more about London and Adam and wondering if they’d get some rough book covering her addiction and his corruptness. I’m not sure that’s what I was meant to care about the end, considering the final chapter of this book is intense and they aren’t included, but that’s where I am.

I’m going to have to say that this book wasn’t my favorite, because the simple continuity errors were present in this one the way they were from Hidden Gem to Diamond in the Rough. In the first two parts of the story London was two years older than Holland, and now in GM she’s two years younger. Is it a big deal? No. But these “could have been caught on a second read through” continuity errors are book boner killers for me. And I try to forgive them, but they seem to be sprinkled into this authors work constantly, so I’m going to mention it from now on. (I will mention that in the first books I read ARCs so MAYBE, she changed the ages in their final draft. If I’m wrong let me know.)

So there will be more to Holly and Elijah’s story, but I’m going to be honest and say that I’ll read the next one for possible Adam and London breadcrumbs.

'Gold mine' is the second book of the 'Diamond' series by the best selling author Skye Warren.

After the ending of the first book , I was waiting eagerly for this one! And what a book it was ! Yes , it was a cliffhanger , but the storyline was so worth it.

We finally get to meet more of Elijah and Holly. They both have a twisted relationship to be honest. Elijah wants to protect Holly , but seems to want her too. Holly wants to escape from her Captor and just wants to ignore the fact that she wants him too. The storyline was steamy and suspenseful in all the right levels and I loved every word of it! We got to know more about Elijah here , and even his brothers have their own books! That is the best part I liked and I really can't wait to read more from this author!

The Twists and turns of this story kept me at the edge of my seat for a very long time and the ending was a totally mind blowing cliffhanger!! I hope we get the next book soon! Can't wait for this one! A definite recommendation to all the Dark Romance lovers out there! This author is someone whose books you don't want to miss at any cost!

Warren left me speechless. I thoroughly enjoyed Diamond in the Rough but Gold Mine, book two in the Diamond Trilogy blew my mind. What a tense, fast-paced and magnificently written dark romance it is. Desperate to know how Holly Frank and Elijah North’s story would pan out, I read the entire book in one sitting.

Holly is suspended in a constant state of danger, adding to the suspense but as the plot thickens, she’ll be faced with a life-changing decision. Ah, but it’s a double-edged sword, and it seemed to me that whichever way she turned, the consequences would be less than favourable.

“You should know that running only makes me chase you.”

Although Holly unwittingly made herself a target in a dangerous scheme, her performance exceeded my expectations. This shy woman grows stronger, the way she dealt with her fears and stood up to those who threatened her was a joy to see. How she accepted her fate, and her trying to protect a family member who’d been nothing but problematic made me fall harder for her than I already had.

‘He inspires a myriad of feeling in me, but not fear.’

Whilst Elijah is still a bit of an enigma to his brothers, the interaction between them is something else. It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of Liam and Joshua who I’d met in the North Security series and Audition. Man, are they in their element here or what! I loved that they called Elijah out and the comebacks, lightening up the mood in a sticky situation were fabulous. I have yet to suss out Adam and eager to see if he shows his true colours in Silver Lining.

‘It’s hard to believe in hope when you’ve held on to despair for so long.’

Elijah is harsh on himself, so when he finally opens up to Holly, I was hoping he’d stop dwelling on his tragic past and learn to move on. Trouble is there's a nasty piece of work too close for comfort and has no plans to let either of them off the hook. I loved the cat and mouse intrigue and whoa, in a twisted turn of events, I was left gobsmacked.

‘We are fundamentally different creatures. He’s a tiger. I’m a mouse.’

I’m familiar with one of the book’s spectacular settings, the author’s descriptive writing taking me back there. Having said this, a lot of the scenes are downright nail-biting if not graphically sensual. Also, I have to mention that the multiple narrators gave even more depth and meaning to the story than I could have hoped for. I never expected the story to take the turn it did and cannot wait for the conclusion to this outstanding story. Bravo, Warren!

I finished reading Gold Mine two nights ago but I was just so (I don’t even know the right words but …) awed, impressed, stunned stupid. I think you feel me with those verbs lol

Listen, Skye Warren is a wizard. I’m not kidding around. A legit wizard with a pen for a wand. And you know why? Because every time this woman writes a trilogy, the books increase in tempo. WHO DOES THAT? No one, that’s who. Let me explain. Most of the trilogies I have ever read tend to lull in the middle somewhat. The story progresses, yes, and it intensifies, yes, but does it get your heart to beat faster, your mind to go haywire, explode and rival the first book? The answer is no, no they normally do not. Word Wizard!!

Gold Mine was a gloriously erotic whirlwind of a ride. I haven’t been this in love, invested, and enthralled with a Skye Warren couple since Damon and Penny (The Masterpiece Duet). It was one twist and revelation after another, hence the stunned stupid above! This book’s ending was just … *blink* … and the development of the story is more than just impressive, it’s extraordinary. Every plot point progressed the story forward. There are zero fillers. Everything means something.

I’m out of words for you because I’m going to start giving away plot points if I don’t stop. If you haven’t given Skye Warren a try before, do it now. I am impressed beyond comprehension over this love story. It is much more than meets the eye and I am excited to move forward with it!!

Okay first off I have to mention the heat level of this book. This couple is SMOKIN hot and Holly totally owns it, even when they get caught in the moment. She's a girl that can't be pinned down but loves to be caught. And she puts others before her- her sister, Elijah, anyone she cares for.

Elijah beats himself up, thinks he's not a good guy. Doesn't help that his brothers are kind of unsure of him, but that's because he doesn't open up to them. His past is rocky. He's perfect for Holly though, rough around the edges but cares a lot.

There's a fair amount of action in the book, they've been on an adventure, and it's a little suspenseful. The end really did shock me and has a cliffhanger. So you know that a third book will be coming! Oh and the possibility of a future couple? Maybe? I mean there are other characters I eventually want more from because I'm greedy, and totally into this story.

There’s no escape from this addictive dominant and out of the charts steaminess couple!
If you thought that Holly and Elijah were pure fire in Rough Diamond, Gold Mine is even more suspenseful, edgy and steamy dark romance!
So many new secrets and heart beating moments, so many lies and truths to be said, all wrapped up in a beautiful love story that hasn’t found its happily ever after yet because there are still questions to be answered and loose ends to be knotted.
If you love dark romance with a suspenseful story that will make you want more and more with each chapter, then this trilogy is definitely for you.

Gold Mine by Skye Warren

Adam Black, Ian Taggert, Lieutenant Colonel Mark Jefferson and Elijah North. Four men hold the power to destroy Holly Frank. Which man will be the one to hurt her, to destroy her, to make her suffer?

Which will be the man to save her, protect her, give her all he can?

Who admires her? Who is threatened by her? Who loves her?

Holly Frank is in deeper than she ever thought she would be. Her one purpose to save her sister might just turn into her having to save herself.

Skye Warren leads readers on a game of dark verses light, truth verses lies, history verses the present all of them dangerous games on their own but played together and someone will get hurt.

Where will this explosive ending take us now? Who is still walking and who isn’t? I can’t wait for the next book, classic Skye Warren, all we can think of now is what will we find when we open the next book!

Gold Mine continues the story of Holly and Elijah, with some new revelations that will sear your heart and torment your soul.

Trigger Warning: Kidnapping, Violence, BDSM

Warning: This is a series where the books are in continuation. If you haven’t read the previous books, then there may be SPOILERS in the following review.

Synopsis:
Elijah North and Adam Black are back again, with their own agendas. Both of them are as deadly and depraved as one can be and have a soft spot for the Frank sisters.

Holly loves Elijah, but she feels she still doesn't know him. Can her love for him survive the dangerous situation that they are in?

Review:
The first chapter itself gave me whiplash. If what is there in this book is the truth, then what was it that was the truth of Book One?

Someone is always after the diamonds, going to extreme lengths to get their hands on them. The story opens on a masquerade ball in Italy which the Frank sisters, Holland and London, are attending. And Elijah and Adam are also there to run interference.

It has been one year of Elijah searching for Holly since they last parted. Even with all the resources at his disposal, he was unsuccessful in finding her, till they meet again in Italy.

Narrated in the first person from the perspective of a host of characters, Gold Mine is literally a gold mine of revelations. But it primarily remains the story of Holly and Elijah. He and Adam Black have a past connection, a connection that runs deeper than what was evident in Diamond in the Rough and till the end of this book, and somehow, it is Holly who ends up becoming a person of interest in the whole case.

It was at once revolting while it was equally difficult to see Elijah grappling with his identity and whether or not he's turning into his monster of a late father. And Holly being an author, Skye Warren has written such stories through the character's pen, introduced these stories in such a way into the book, that they twist your brain and tie up your mind in knots. What is right? What is wrong? It's such an evil guessing game. Like Elijah says, where or what is the line that one shouldn't cross? Who defines it?

Then there's Lieutenant Colonel Mark Jefferson, a haunting presence from the first book itself. He is a man who appears to be of mythical proportions to Holly. Like her, Gold Mine feels kinda mythic to me. The reason for that may be because of the ever-present aura of mystery that is Elijah North's life before he ran into Holly.
When you’ve lived long enough in the dark, it begins to feel like home.

I love dark romances and this was as dark and twisted as it can get. But there are decisions to be taken now, life-altering decisions as things are getting serious. And the ending, what a heart-breaking cliff-hanger it was, though it was a testament to how brave Holly is!

Elijah's past broke my heart, the things he had to do to survive. The childhood that all the North brothers had to endure, they literally rose from living hell. I can't wait to read Liam's story now. Bur before that, I need Silver Lining, and if the title is to be believed, after Gold Mine, it is desperately needed.

Thank you to Valentine PR for an e-ARC of the book.

My review of the books in the Diamond Series is as follows:
Hidden Gem (Prequel Novella) | Diamond in the Rough | Gold Mine | Silver Lining

Pass. Nope. Are you kidding me?!

I can't get over the fact that Elijah placed Holly in a cell with another man Adam and told her to kiss him in exchange for water/supplies, which she HAPPILY did, and he kissed her back, AND THEN he tells him to make her come. What on earth is going on?? I'm so mad I—

Adam murmurs in her ear. “See the way he watches you? He can’t look away. He wants his hands to be on your sweet body. He wants to feel how wet you are.”
Some small part of me recognizes that I’m losing my control of the situation, but most of me doesn’t care. She looks so fucking hot, her hips rocking forward, seeking more pressure from Adam, her head tilting back onto his shoulder. I love watching this woman’s pleasure, even if another man gives it to her.

Yea, no, I'm not reading the last book.

Holly (Holland) and her sister London have been on the run, but now the time has finally come to hand over the diamonds to pay off London's debt. Then they both can move on with their lives. Except of course it's not going to be that simple because yet again Adam foils things. But then Elijah is there, too. Is he there to rescue her or kidnap her again? She knows he has to be angry that she ran from him. But she had to, for her sanity, for her heart, for her sister's sake. Or at least, that's what she told herself, keeps telling herself.

Elijah knows he's no good for Holly, he has to keep her, but yet he can't. He's no good for her but he needs her. The question is, will she stay once she knows about his past?

"I can't hold her captive. I can't let her leave. The contradiction is tearing me apart."
"She should know that I'll hurt her. It's inevitable. As inevitable as finding her. She's my prey, and I"m her monster."
Is he really, though? I'm not sure if he's the monster he says he is. I know Holly loves him, as evidenced by the truly awful cliffhanger. And now I'm left with lots of questions, the main being "WHY?!?!?" Yes, there's a freaking cliffhanger, which I knew because this is a trilogy, but I'm still kinda freaking out because I can tell that Holly and Elijah have barely scratched the surface of not only his layers, but of their relationship, and of the craziness going on around them.

Gold Mine is sexy, addicting reading and I'm very impatiently waiting for Silver Lining. I'm not sure when it will land on my eager Kindle, but I hope it's pretty damn soon!

Skye Warren is a writer who always knows how to hook her readers. Gold Mine is every bit as addictive, steamy, and suspenseful as Diamond in the Rough, but here she really sinks into these two dynamic and complicated characters, focusing in more closely on the passionate, thrilling, and twisted nature of their obsession with one another. Gold Mine has everything we’ve come to love about a Skye Warren dark romance- suspenseful danger, deceit, twists, passion, and an obsessive love that can’t be contained.

Skye left us in a bit of cliffhanger in our last story- with Holly having fled Elijah to protect her sister...and because she didn’t want to be his captive, a bittersweet irony since they meet….or, well as we know now, meet a second time, when they were both captives themselves. Holly’s sister London has entangled herself in some dangerous business, and Holly wants nothing more than to protect her and save her from danger, including the danger she poses to herself- the reasons for which we start to learn more about in this story. They are in the possession of diamonds that every big baddie seems to want their hands on, and they are being circled by federal officials from multiple countries, all with dubious intentions. But no threat is greater than Elijah North- the man who is brimming with conflicted darkness, a dangerous alpha that can’t let go of her, the man who will recklessly give anything up to possess her. He’s determined to find her- to both protect and punish her- and find her he will.

These two have such a scorching chemistry- that twisted, needy, conflicting kind of connection, the kind with a splash of toxic obsession and a heavy dose of carnal need. Skye lets resolving some of the lingering dangers take a backseat- whereas book one was all quick action and steamy heat, this one is more relational with steamy heat. These two are complicated- they have a checkered past, came together under unusual circumstances, and they both keep making decisions to protect the other that just aggravates or hurts the other. This story is really about their relational gold mining- once they get a (brief) minute to breathe away from danger, they’re trying to figure out just what is underneath all the jagged edges of their relationship- can they find gold?

Somehow, Elijah becomes even darker in this story- and even more alluring. Here he’s conflicted by his needs, his darkness amplified by his own desperation and anger. We get to learn more about his troubling and painful background- what makes him tick and also what has made him fearful when it comes to the way he loves Holly. He is so delicious in this story- and Skye elevated his alpha even more, and it is nice to see him and Holly working together again and starting to communicate more.

We also got some delightful time with Liam and Josh- watching these brothers work together and build a relationship was an unexpected sweet part of this dark, twisting story. And, we see London, Holly’s sister- and for me, I’m seeing her in a whole new light- perhaps hoping she becomes the heroine in a future story, with a hero I was not expecting.

Since this is a trilogy, this ends on a pretty devastating and shocking cliffhanger. After we get some relationship time, Skye does ramp up the action and suspense- and while our couple seem to resolve one barrier, they still have many formidable and powerful enemies. Elijah’s past and London’s decisions might ruin them both- OMG- I need book 3!

Gold Mine by Skye Warren was pure adrenaline high. From the deviant and sinful love. From the suspense and drama. The author didn't hold back while delivering the passion, the romance and the thrill. The words just slayed me.

Elijah North is a dangerous and perhaps deranged man. And Holly has become his obsession. He is no good for her innocent and sweet heart. But their lives have become tangled in a web of secrets, violence and lies. He has to save Holly and her sister. And may be Holly needs to save his soul.

Elijah's character is the most complicated of all North brothers. He has lived through hell of horrors. And that has changed him irrevocably. He has left his humanity and become this monster. The agencies used his darkness as a lethal weapon. But Holly has come as a light in his dark. And he has this mild hope that he may not be the devil or even if he is, he has a chance for redemption. The author captured the contrast and confusion perfectly. On one side I was enthralled by this alpha antihero with controlled rage, need to dominate and brutal cruelty. On the other side my heart was breaking for this broken shattered man with sea of pain. Holly is his soul mate. They can both deny but they both feel it. She may be sweet, may have standard sense of morality, may be cute and adorable but she also craves for Elijah's brand of possession and pervert desires. She soothes and heals his jagged edges. Their love and hate has a very fine line. And walking on it was exhilarating. But they have so many enemies. And the author kept me on the edge of my seat with the gripping storyline.

Gold Mine by Skye Warren was a depraved, indulgent and breathtaking romance. The chemistry was twisted and addictive. The storyline was all about twists and turns. Skye Warren's words were pure beauty and brilliance.

Gold Mine is the second instalment in the Diamond trilogy and things get more and more intriguing and dangerous.

Holly manages to escape Elijah's grasp but there is nowhere she can hide from him. And he's not the only one chasing after her. There are enemies lurking in the dark, ready to strike at any moment, but that doesn't mean she will cower in the face of danger. Holly will do anything to protect her sister London, she will fight anyone who stands in her way, even the man who makes her heart float and her desires come to life.

Holly and Elijah's love story is twisted but that's what makes it beautiful. They're souls speak to each other but he doesn't want to accept the fact that Holly can love him or that he is in turn capable of loving her. His fear of crossing the moral line and becoming his father and the dark secrets he harbours weights on him making it impossible to accept that he deserves to be happy. But Holly shows him that with her, he can let go of his demons and embrace his true nature. She's strong-headed, valiant, and won't back away from a challenge. Elijah might think he's corrupting her but Holly also has a dark side and it comes to the surface every time they're together and that makes them perfect for each other.

Dramatic, suspenseful, intense and scorching hot, this book kept me enthralled until the very last page. Yet again there is a cliffhanger at the end and it definitely spiked my curiosity to know how things will turn out for the protagonists. Wonderfully written. Looking forward to discovering more in the next instalment.

Here We Go! Book two in this series begins a year after the shocking ending where Diamond In The Rough left off. Holly Frank has been through so much but she has not even begun to face what is coming. Finally with her sister, can she find the truth and fully trust Elijah North? Who is he really? “You should know that running only makes me chase you.” Woah Elijah! He is such a well written, dark, troubled but strong character and Holly is the perfect match for him. Stolen diamonds, lies, bodyguards and a few surprising twists make up this clever romantic suspense. This did go a little slower paced in the beginning for me. I enjoyed the tie in to her other series (when you read the series you will know which one). This also ends in quite the cliffhanger so be prepared. Told in multiple POV.

We are back with Holly and Elijah a year after that ending in Diamond in The Rough. Just when you think Holly has faced all her troubles head on Skye has more surprises up her sleeve. Reunited with her sister and Elijah is she any nearer to discovering the truth. I must admit I hadn't realised just how messed up Elijah is but we now see him at his most troubled and darkest. This is the one where Holly will have to dig deep and fight for her man she loves like she has never fought before. The twists the lies and the betrayals just keep coming in this addictive fast paced series. Hold onto your hats because Skye delivers another heart stopping cliffhanger.
