Jaxson Blackwood owned all my firsts...

Two years ago, I allowed tragedy to tear us apart. Overwhelmed by heartache and grief, I ran, leaving everyone I loved behind. Now I’m back, watching my past and present collide. Jaxson is a reminder of everything I lost and all the reasons I forced myself to move on. Even when my happily ever after turns to hell, I can’t go back. I can’t give him what he wants because there’s nothing left of me worth loving.

Madalyn Sterling is the other half of my soul.

If breaking my heart wasn’t bad enough, she came back and shattered the remaining pieces. My attempts to move on fail, leaving me worse off than I was before. Alcohol numbs the pain, turning me into someone I’m not. Madalyn may no longer be mine to love, but it’s impossible to let her go. Especially when I discover her devastating secret. She needs me now more than ever.

If we can forgive our mistakes and accept the past, we can turn our heartbreak into a second chance.

Supernova is the first book in the Stars Align series and can be read as a stand-alone.

another Kiera from Thoughtless
a very well written one
ugh.
the choices the choices the choices, she makes
the hurt she causes

2 years ago they're in a relationship when :
she had a miscarriage which she blames him for
he had insisted they attend a party to which she didn't want to go
after the party they're involved in an accident that caused the miscarriage
she was beyond devastated. broken. annihilated
refused to have anything to do with him:

Excerpt hero 70% in:
“I came every day. Every fucking day hoping you’d change your mind. They turned me away every time. Threatened to call security. I just wanted to love you! Your choice to keep me away almost broke me. But the worst part, Madalyn? The fucking worst part was finding out that you were pregnant with my baby and had a miscarriage. But I didn’t even hear it from you,” I say...”

she leaves and he's beyond devastated. broken. annihilated

Excerpt hero:
“I had no family. I was left alone with the fallout. While I was here, dealing with the consequences of the choices you made...you were off somewhere else. Moving on with your life like I never fucking existed. Like I never meant a goddamn thing to you. Like you weren’t my entire fucking world! You. Left. Me!”

she falls in love, marries and is horribly abused from the outset of her marriage
she comes back, husband tries to kill her, she moves in with the H while she recovers
he loves her to bits and just wants to cherish her

70% excerpt heroine:
“Hating to see me upset. He’s always been this way when it comes to me, but he’s even more careful after everything I’ve been through.
I know him too well. And I’m a bitch for taking advantage of that knowledge.
The truth is...I’m afraid. Selfishly, I’m afraid to lose him, afraid to push him away. And I’m just not ready to risk that yet. As much as I’m healing, I use him as an emotional crutch, and I’ve been hesitant to take a chance to lose the shoulder I lean on the most.”

Now here's the kicker:
she only explains to him her reasons for leaving him @ 70% into the book
so for TWO years and some he's lived in limbo

Another kicker:
she's sorry for herself but isn't falling over her feet with apologies to him
not at all
if a hero made these kind of decisions I'd be demanding a grovel of epic proportions
he's the one apologizing over and over for his (warranted) reactions to the things she reveals

the worst kicker:
That party he insisted she go to?
Excerpt hero:
“It was an engagement party, Madalyn,” I rasp. “That was the night I was going to ask you to marry me. To spend your life with me...as my wife.”...“It was a surprise. Our friends were all there. Your siblings were on the way. I was only waiting for them to arrive so I could finally ask. I was so fucking nervous even though I knew you’d say yes. I wanted to share our moment with the people we love. To be surrounded by family and friends on what should have been one of the happiest nights of my life.”

okay no, this is the worst kicker:
she didn't even tell him WHY she didn't want to go to the party
there was NO WAY ON GOD'S GREEN EARTH that this hero would've insisted she go had he known she was feeling unwell because she was pregnant

okay, last kicker:
i have to read about her in the next books in this series...

ugh

This is the third book I’ve read by this author and let me just say WOW!!! I don’t even have the words to describe how amazing this story was but it is definitely one of my top reads of the year. I was on a roller coaster of emotions the entire time I was reading it and I hated having to put it down. I’m excited to read Camille’s story and see how this author once again gives us an amazing story.

OMG, this book was amazing. I loved Madalyn and Jaxson. This book will give you all the feels and by the time you are finished, you will be wrung out but it will be all worth it. This book touches on so many topics that may be a trigger for some people or even help people who may not know what type of situation they are in. This book is a great story and I am happy that I was able to read it. I know some of what Madalyn has gone through, not to the extent but I saw myself a little in her and how my life has been over the last 20 years of my relationship. This book is very touching, heartbreaking, thought provoking and a conversation starter. I can’t wait to read more from her.

I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is my first book by Kate Stacy and I can tell you it won't be my last.

I started this story, not really reading what I was going into...sometimes I just like to be surprised and boy, was I surprised. Kate's way with words is just beautiful. The emotions she brings out in each of her characters and the way she dealt with extremely tough situations in her writing left me in awe.

Jax and Madalyn's story was hard to read at times, I wanted to shake both characters and I wanted to hug them. Their journey will take you from a range of emotions, sad, angry, happy, back to sad then happy again. Kate really makes you work for the happily ever after but it's so worth it in the end.

I cannot wait to read the sister's stories if they are anything near as emotional as this story I know I won't be disappointed.

5 Supernova Stars!

This book is definitely a heart wrenching story. Madalyn and Jaxson are friends that turn into lovers and they seem destined to be together forever until tragedy struck and they were in a car accident and their lives changed forever. Madalyn chose to freeze Jaxson out of her life and made poor choices with her life. She marries another man that is wrong for her and turns out to be dangerous for her. This is an emotional roller coaster story where you are screaming for Madalyn to stop being so stubborn and let Jaxson back into her life and leave her abusive husband throughout the story. Good book that made you feel all the emotions. I voluntarily reviewed this book.

This was a nice long read. Jaxson and Madalyn are meant to be. Well, they should have been, but tragedy strikes and Madalyn freaks out. Her decisions are emotion driven and she makes a huge mistake. Madalyn's mistake leads to further angst and it might have triggers for some. Luckily for her Jaxson is devoted, but how long can you hang on watching someone you love live life without you and knowing they may never love you again? A good read.

So I absolutely love Jaxson... I don't know how anyone couldn't. I have to be honest that I did not get Madalyn a lot of times but I think that's okay. I mean sometimes you just don't get some people and the choices that they make even in real life but that doesn't mean that I didn't love the story. I loved this story so much! It was mostly because of all the characters in the story. Seriously loved Holden! I actually really liked a lot of people in this story and the only one that didn't totally get was Madalyn but I am okay with that. I happy though that this book was in dual perspective.

I'm not the best review writer, so I know that I'm in no way able to do justice to this story but I'm going to try.
This was my first book from this author, and let me tell you, it won't be my last. From the first page I was hooked! The way this author has with words and making you FEEL the emotions being written is truly phenomenal! She makes you work through all the feels to finally reach that happily ever after, but what a truly deserved happily ever after these characters find.
I can't wait to read more about this family, with the sisters stories!
A truly 10 star deserved read.

I love the world that Kate Stacy has created for these characters. We get a glimpse of Maddison in Kate's first book. Maddison left Jackson after an accident changed their lives forever. We see Maddison trying to move on and being happy. That is where we see things change in both of their lives even though they know that they are destined to be together. There are things that you will want to check if you have triggers. Absolutely an amazing read and I can not wait for more.

Great story

Grab your tissues!! This was a very emotional read. But this book entails a lot more that heartache. We have a greater love that knows no bounds and a family along with further will stick with you no matter the situation.

Looking forward to reading about the rest of the Sterling sisters. But great storyline dealing with a very sensitive and emotional subjects.

Enjoyed

I read the Long Road Home and then this story! They were both incredible and powerful roller coaster ride of emotions. This one will lay on my heart for awhile. All of my favorite elements covered in one story. The only thing I would change.. I would have read this book before The Long Road hope.

what could have been a beautiful story about love and loss with a commentary on abuse was turned into the perfect example of telling without showing. almost every single important scene was skipped in favor of the narrators simply voicing over what happened. (also the FMC’s older brother calling her “baby girl” gave me the biggest ick)

While her first book was amazing, the author took this one to a whole new level. It draws you in from page one and you just can't seem to stop reading. I love the emotional ups and downs throughout the story. I even had to get tissues at several points. Can not wait for the next in the series.
