Beautifully Romantic
Kate Stacy writes books that keep the reader on an emotional tightrope of angst and relieved love. As in life, her characters have past or current challenging circumstances, and as we are creatures of behaviour learned through good or bad experiences, we will often over-react when vulnerable. Communication is key.
This is Camille and Ryan’s stand-a-lone story. I have read other books from Ms Stacy, and while the characters are interconnected, it won’t alter the flow of this story.
Theirs was an unconventional relationship, done pretty much in the reverse order. Babies, getting to know each other, then moving in, all on an accelerated time table, complete with family, emotional baggage, and a stalker.
Camille, one of three identical triplets is hiding a past event, and the meeting of her and Ryan on the night that she decided to break free of her demons is full on hot, hot, hot intensely written chemistry. Holy hell! Ryan himself couldn’t believe it, and Camille didn’t understand at the time just how special that was to him. Learned behaviour remember.
Kate Stacy will have you falling in love with Ryan and his feisty daughter, and the family who also moves into town with him. If you love a small-town police officer in uniform, that will certainly add to the attraction. These are great guys, and Ryan’s protectiveness certainly kicks up a gear when Camille starts getting unwanted attention.
This is such an amazing and beautifully romantic read and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves this trope. 4.5 Stars.
