Wow, this volume was really good! My favorite scene was Romio challenging Juliet in the cavalry battle to restore her honor, it was too good. I like seeing these two together, they make such a cute couple you can't help but root for them. It did break my heart at the end of the volume, not gonna lie I almost teared up during that scene (you know which one). Something that did bother me was Romio's older brother. I know he's meant to be an obstacle, but he came across as way too harsh, almost like he's trying to be as villainous as he can. Oh, but he fixes some kids' paper airplane, and that's suppose to show he's a good guy? Seriously the "Guy/girl does one good gesture and that's suppose to prove they're a good person" is starting to grate on my nerves. I don't have a problem necessarily if a character does something nice whilst being a harsh person, but the character has to be consistent. Showing him do one nice thing and then be an insufferable dick the rest of the time does not give me the impression that he's a nice guy underneath his cruel demeanor. At least Romio is a good person despite having a temper and getting violent and readers see those nice sides frequently so it works in his case. But Romio's brother is just a dick that Kaneda tries to show is nice but really is just a dick who did one nice thing once. Maybe his character will change as the series goes on, but honestly it would take a lot to disprove my initial take on his character. Anyways, rant over, I liked this volume, can't wait to see what the future holds.
