Getting over him should’ve been easy. I never thought I’d give him a second chance. But I couldn’t help it. For one, it was impossible to stop thinking about Tim. Two, he won me over and gave me a job. This is the last thing I wanted. Being in love with my boss. But it’s also the best thing that could’ve happened to me. It’s true when they say love is complicated. I question giving him a second chance, and being in love with my boss, but what if he’s the only one who can rescue me when I’m in serious trouble?

It's probably been about two years since I read a book by Lucia Jordan. This is not one of her erotic shorts that will leave you panting. Instead, this is a long novella that I didn't want to put down. Yes, it gets hot and may have you panting but the steam is more loving than quick and dirty. Part of what compelled me was the trainwreck that was Tim and Brooke's relationship. He kept fumbling and she kept diving toward the nuclear option. They did have great chemistry but communication was at a very low point. Max was probably my favorite character with his sage advice and no-nonsense approach to things.
I am looking forward to the next book in the series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
💣💣ONE SWEET LITTLE TREAT💣💣 Fantastic! Lucia serves up one hot little number with all the thrills, frills and spills, weaving a cocoon around you so intricately and precise, drawing you deeper into this tangled web until everything else ceases to exist, catapulting this gem to staggering heights. Observing the taxing trials and hard won triumphs, noting the dramatic twists and wicked turns, testing our characters in ways they could have never envisioned. Braided, banded and tightly bound, displaying the explosive ups and agonizing downs, breathtaking in it's simplicity and beautiful in it's depth, wrapping this jewel up sleek, shiny and tight. The attraction and chemistry collides with such intensity and ardor, baring the deep emotions and an undeniable bond, binding them to one another beautifully. The characters, interactions and charged atmosphere along with qualities and traits that add depth and diversity, transform into genuine charismatic personalities. The scenes are abundantly descriptive with colorful details that blend and flow, creating a majestic backdrop that's so rich and lively it feels as though you were transported to ground zero with them. Remarkable job Lucia, thanks for sharing this hot little number with us.
Overall, the book was a good read, however, the main character, Brooke, got on my nerves a little bit. She was always to quick to jump to conclusions and then stubborn about giving someone the chance to explain the situation. When Tim, another main character, does the same thing the second time that 😡 Off Brooke the first time, it seamed like the author lacked originality by not inventing a new argument. Also, when Tim was try to call Brooke in one off the sections to makeup with her the author called him “Nick”. There was also a part at the end were Brooke is congratulating Kate and the author writes about Brooke kissing Kate’s “soft lips”, I don’t have any friends that kiss each other on the lips or their friends that kiss each other on the lips. And, then to describe them as soft, unless the author is going to write a book about them getting together, which I am fine with, the statement is not needed, a hug would have been enough. I like the authors originality of using the stars in the storyline. This is my first time reading one of this author’s books, I would gladly read more from this author.
Men you put themselves in bad positions and dirty women who try to mess their lives up. Chelsea needed to be dealt with and I loved how Brooke did it. Tim needed to realize what Brooke was to him and how he needed to build her trust that he demolished. But Brooke has to give him the opportunity to do that and that’s what she struggled with. The way Tim went about it was beautiful. I loved the way Lucia added the stars to this book it made it unique and made you feel like it was you real love story. This is a sweet must read.
A very different book by Lucia but overall I enjoyed it. As another reviewer mentioned you really wanted to shake Brooke and let her know she needs to listen!! Tim was a very likeable and determined man and romantic too. Not many of those left. Lol. A very different book by this author but it doesn’t take away her talent for writing a sexy enjoyable book. Can’t wait for Max’s story. Well done Lucia you’ve captivated me again.
This is the first book in the Bad News Billionaire series, it can be read as a standalone story.
Brooke breaks up with Tim after a compromising photo of him is released, Tim is not only her boyfriend but her boss as well, so no job and a messy love life. Tim is determined to get Brooke back and needs to show her she's the only one for him. Interesting storyline but both Brooke and Tim were annoying with their lack of communication.
Overall I liked this book. I will admit at times I wanted to slap Brooke. She really had a hard time giving Tim any chance to ever explain himself. I did like Tim. I thought it was sweet that he kept trying so hard. Too bad Brooke wasn't hardly happy. The good news is that in the end she got better and they got their HEA.
DNF - Book starts with the protagonist moving out of her apartment and quitting her job over a misunderstanding with her boss. She was in a relationship with her boss so I maybe could somewhat understand her quitting her job. Moving out of her apartment was just too dramatic. Not to mention that she was then super easy to find. Immature and I just couldn't get past it.
This is a very different book from Lucia Jordan, a very excellent book! Tim and Brooke are meant to be together, but before that, they will have to live through difficult times apart from each other.
