Broken, but Alive

Rate this book
200 pages of honest, raw, unfiltered emotion. "Broken, but Alive" is a new form of poetry. It sits somewhere between artistic self-expression and candid self-help. It is a meditation on acceptance, growth, and what it means to be human. "Broken, but alive" is cathartic. It gives people the ability to relieve their deepest, most heartfelt emotions. "Broken, but Alive", is a written testimony to the struggles of being human; of being alive. We all break, we all become damaged at some point in our journey. This book is designed to help people understand that it is okay to not be okay. Because truth be told, one day you will be, okay, that is.One day it’ll all make the sleepless nights, the pain, the disappointment, the gut wrenching strike of defeat. This poetry hits close to home for many. It resonates with people from all walks of life. Because we all walk the same journey, the journey to self-discovery. The only difference is that we all have our own unique paths. This book will help shed light on that path.Love, romance, defeat, perseverance, new beginnings; all this and more, is what you'll find in this book. My writing is cathartic, and each poem in this book reflects this. It is a slow deep breath, in and out. Taking it all in; the pain, the sorrow, the grief, the happiness. It is an acceptance on what it means to be human. With each page you turn in my book, you also turn to a different chapter in your life. Some chapters you desperately have tried to bury deep down inside of you, others, you wish you could relieve just one more time. Because that’s what life a continuance of thousands of memories and emotions that often cannot be explained nor elaborated on.Until today that is. “Broken, but Alive” is that goodbye letter you wrote years ago to that someone who utterly destroyed you. It’s that conversation you’ve had with your therapist where you broke down crying. “Broken, but Alive” is that hug you needed from your parents when you were a child and had just woken up from a nightmare; terrified, scared, vulnerable. It’s the note you wrote to yourself a long time ago, which you find again when you most need it, that reminds you ‘it’s going to be okay, even if right now, it isn't okay.’

“don’t be afraid to live a new life and still, feel old pain”

This collection is about loving yourself above all else. Focus on loving and accepting yourself before you can open up and love others. It’s a good collection.
