I am a writer and commentator, born in Kuwait, in the spring of 1986. I lived there till I was 15 and then moved to Pakistan with my family where I lived for just under a decade. My time in Karachi proved to be a bit turbulent to say the least and I found it hard to adjust in that society. But it also moulded me into the person I am today. After a lengthy time reflecting on many aspects I decided to leave Islam, the religion of my family. Such a decision if made public in Islamic countries have dire consequences. And so, I set off on the next adventure of my life.
A nomad all my life, not by design but by circumstances, I made my choice by where I could discover a sense of belonging above all else. And so I moved to England. This is where I met my wife, who is from Poland, and we have been together ever since, living in Essex. Over the years, my fondness for these British Isles and her people have only grown stronger.
I prefer to see myself as a freethinker, seeker, history enthusiast, social commentator, and a bibliophile with a deep appreciation for storytelling. I advocate for freedom of thought and expression with a strong emphasis on civil liberties. My interests include exploring the abstract realities of the human mind and its absurd existence within the wonderful peculiarities of our universe, and how we choose to organise ourselves creating paths of governance while developing a set of unspoken social norms and laws. I also have special interest in the power of folklore and mythological story telling along with oral and written history in playing a pivotal role in shaping the understanding of our existence.
Everything in this collection, from the language to the content to the form to the structure, is a great adventure in beauty, poetry, and unspoken truths. You don't have to love poetry to enjoy Mumblings of a Fool; you just need an appreciation for honesty and wisdom. I absolutely would recommend.
I sat down for a bit of reading and soon myself on the other end of this collection. I thought the poetry here had a nice prosody to it, and I found there was a deep meaning to much of it that resonated.
