Interesting and thought provoking reading and exercises throughout. However it became hugely repetitive and the last third of the book really didn't offer anything terrifically insightful (or new for that matter). 4 stars dropping to 2 meant an average overall rating of 3 stars.

I foolishly assumed I had already read the worst of what I would force myself to slog through this year. I was very wrong.

This book combines bad advice with pop psychology, experience bias, new age spirituality and poor writing. The result is a disaster I've rarely encountered.

Toxic positivity didn’t make sense to me till this book.
“If you are poor, it's because you didn’t set your goals highly enough, or you have an unhealthy view of money.”
“Self worth increases net worth” What a ridiculous statement.
This is some bulls**t right here. It's Ekhart Tolle, Deepok Chopra, Oprah trash applied to finance.
She quotes Tolle halfway through, I knew it.

“Colleen didn’t like her husband, job or kids, she found out her husband was cheating on her, so she left her husband, kids and job, and is now making tons of money living the life she wants to!” “Isn’t that great” is the implied response, instead of looking at her response as avoidance of her problems instead of dealing with them.

In Marter’s mind, following your heart always lead to more money, or that’s what she would have you believe based off of numerous examples in her book.
Pay bills on time, spend within your limits, know your net worth, treat yourself, plan financially, meet with financial planner regularly, give charitably, negotiate salary or purchases, look at insurance, invest in your future.

When defrauded of over 100k by a former business partner, Marter plays the martyr and “accepts and forgives”, not realizing that you can forgive someone and still hold them responsible for what they did. Suing for the amount would the

This is terrible. Don't read it.

The Financial Mindset Fix by Joyce Master is an excellent work book with several valuable tools & exercises to help a person achieve better mental & financial fitness. This book requests active participation from the reader in the form of journaling and answering specific questions in each chapter. Personal stories & helpful examples are threaded throughout helping the reader to relate to the author & be inspired to continue with the program. I found the book to be exactly what I was hoping for & a little more. The activities throughout each chapter felt daunting at times but each exercise left me feeling glad that I completed it & more informed on my own personal mental health and financial journey. This book contains concepts and methods that are extremely helpful but sometimes only accessible to folks who are actively involved in therapy or personal coaching. While not a replacement for in person therapy it certainly provides a good look at the type of methods that might be used & outcomes that can be achieved. This book is an excellent resource for people of all ages and demographics who are looking to improve their lives. It would be especially fun to work through the material in a class or small group.

This book has been very beneficial during these trying times. Often, it's easy to preach or tell people what to do without considering a lot of factors. However, this book isn't only based on the author's own experience but also based on many factors affecting a person's mindset. The most important factor being a person's humanity.

I love this book! And I’m so lucky to come across such an enlightening book that not only provides pointers on how to fix one’s financial mindset, but also teaches two of the most important things in life that practically fixes everything: SELF LOVE and HUMANITY! This is the greatest and most doable self-help book that I’ve read so far, considering that I’ve read tons of them in the past. It teaches how self-esteem, mental health, physical health, social well-being, and moral values are all factors that have great impact on financial stability more than anyone realizes.

Overall, I’m giving this book 5 out of 5 stars. I’ve had an eye-opening and healing experience in reading this book as it imparted lessons from real life experiences. This book comes with innovative exercises, self-assessment tools, and insights for shifting into a mindset of abundance. I highly recommend this book to ALL readers; this book is a MUST-READ!

5 stars for this holistic approach! It's amazing how this book not only focused on the money aspect, but also inculcates self-love and humanity. So far, it’s the best financial self-help book I have read. It teaches self-esteem, moral values, mental and physical wealth, as well as social well-being which are all very critical in a person’s success towards leading an abundant life. I have learned so much about this book that I’m excited to practice them. There are exercises and self-assessment tools that readers would have fun doing while also being enlightened by what really attracts prosperity. The key point is…it’s not just one or two things that makes a person’s financial well-being a success. There are many aspects and this book showed 12 essential mindsets that will help improve a person’s life as a whole.

As an adult, I realize that what we were taught in school and growing up were wayyyy too far from real life and how to really become self-reliant. What I love the most about this book aside from all the great values the authornhas incorporated is the fact that it's not just a simple book. It's also a great tool that contains easy and doable exercises to help improve not only the financial aspect of a person, but also the mental and social wellbeing. I also love the personal stories and examples that help me relate with the author. Sooo, I am giving this book 5 stars for inculcating values and providing helpful activities. This was truly an enlightening and inspiring read that I hope other readers would discover especially with the current times.

This was very impressive! There are so many books out there regarding the same topic, but the reason I am so impressed with this book is the fact that there are two very important things that set this book apart from the others. It not only educates readers of the many significant factors impacting a person’s financial stability, but also teaches two of the most important values in life – humanity and self-worth. Anyone who’s having a hard time practicing any of these two has the gravest moral flaw and would have the hardest mindset to fix, but if a person practices both, then nothing is impossible. This is one of the best nonfiction books about financial issues that everybody should read. I highly recommend it. Definitely a 5-star read.

I like that this book comes with exercises and self-assessment tools. I highly recommend this as a gift to friends and/or family whom you think might need this book as their companion towards their financial growth, most especially now that the holidays are over. People are possibly thinking how on Earth are they going to get back on track with their financial obligations when they spent more than what they were supposed to during the holidays. The 12 essential mindsets taught in this book will reduce the same issue next time. I won't say it's easy, but it isn't difficult either if you set your mind to it. There are values to learn in the process and I'm sure readers will be enlightened after reading this book.

Finally, a self-help book on financials that is doable! Most of the books I read would have one or two things that I can follow based from my lifestyle, but this one talks about financial mindset by delving into the many aspects that are very critical to the success of a person’s transition. The author shared really powerful and effective practices that will result to long-term prosperity through 12 essential mindsets and they are all backed up with personal experiences. Reading this book has been an enlightening experience. Hence, I highly recommend it to readers who would like the same experience as I did. This book definitely deserves a 5-star rating!

I'd have to admit...it isn't rocket science to achieve a financial mindset especially when the habit of spending and being impulsive normally starts at a young age. So, any book that revolves around money isn't my cup of tea. I don't even like watching movies or shows with themes of greed or anything that talks about wealth and how to get there, but this book hits different. It shows the connection between financial freedom and very important values that impact a person's financial well-being. It talks about self-respect and humanity, and that's all it took to convince me that this book would be a great gift idea to friends and family. I highly recommend it.

There are people who grow up to be practical and there are those who grew up spending without thinking. This book is definitely for the latter but will also be helpful to the pragmatic ones. Even though achieving a good financial mindset is never an easy thing, considering the rise of technology in this money-driven world, I would say that this book can reduce impulse buying by some level if you're determined to achieve financial abundance. It not only teaches financial growth; it also inculcates values and factors that have significant impact on financial mindset, like mental health, physical health, social well-being, and most important of all, self-love.

The stories were so relatable! For an average person belonging in the middle class, this book is a gem! I love how it doesn’t promise you to get rich and instead, it teaches you a process that you can use long term. It teaches you values like self-love. That with anything at all that you decide in life, they all come down to…in what emotional state where you in when you decided to do that? Emotional state, physical health, mental health, these are all critical factors affecting our financial decisions. Hence, they should be in our priority list of things to focus on before we can achieve a good mindset in terms of financial matters. Highly recommended to all!

I think with full determination, anyone can achieve anything and that includes financial abundance. This book is a very practical and holistic approach that blew my mind. What sets it apart from other books of the same theme is that it doesn't promise you anything on a single try. It tells you that the process is long-term. You can't achieve financial abundance by just reading this book; you must take things slowly and start with your own values in life and how they can impact your financial wellbeing.

I'm so impressed with the tools, exercises, and multidimensional insights shared in this book! It was easy to read, easy to understand, and moreover, doable. It's something I would definitely read again because more often than not, the main problem of people is consistency. It's easy to apply what you learn but when you don't put them into practice much, you'll stray from your goals. I enjoyed reading this book because it's not like most guidebooks or self-help books where you are being told what to do. This book allows you to self-reflect on the things that matter most in your life.

This is exactly what I need today, considering the inflation impacting not just the lower and middle class but practically every social class in the society. It's never a good thing when prices increase, (and the hike is unbelievable!) but in every situation, it's our attitude towards it that makes us overcome challenges. After reading this book, I was enlightened of how much mental, physical, and social factors affect anyone from achieving financial abundance. I'm truly impressed by the research, resources, insights, tools, exercises, wisdom, and life experiences shared in this book.

This surely will change a person’s point of view towards financial wellbeing. It is so multifaceted that it shows the many different factors affecting one’s financial decision making. I now understand what is keeping me from achieving a life of abundance and will do my best to fix my mindset. If there’s truly a part in this book that inspired me, I can’t give credit to just one part, the entire content of this book inspired me to become a better person in order to achieve a good financial mindset and achieve a life of abundance in the near future. 5/5 stars!

This was very motivational! People who feel hopeless and in despair because of financial problems will really get inspired and enlightened by this book! The approach is so philosophical instead of strategic. It factors in all aspects in our daily life that heavily impacts our financial capability and ability to decide. This book simply tells us that our mental wellbeing is a crucial part of our decision making. I love the tools/exercises in this book. Will recommend it to all, especially those who are feeling hopeless about their financial status.

This is a very practical and holistic approach that allows a person to not only understand the value of money, but also understand a person’s value and overall impact to achieving a good financial mindset. It’s really nice how I thought I’d be reading something about money and how to deal with financial issues but then this book completely wowed me by showing how important mental health and self-love contributes to a person’s financial mindset. Loved this book! 5 stars and highly recommended to all!

I thought I’d be bored and there’d be more strategic things that are data-driven but it turned out that Joyce Marter took a multidimensional approach in honing such fine financial guide masterpiece. This book has very helpful tools, examples from real-life situations and people, the author’s personal experiences, and lots of wonderful words of wisdom. This is probably the first non-fiction book that I’d refer to as a page-turner! I really wasn’t able to put the book down ‘til the end because everything in here makes sense. 5 out of 5 stars and highly recommended!

And it’s not only that; it’s also a book that tackles every aspect affecting our ability and capability of handle financial issues. It pains me that there are so many people struggling today and if I had all the money in the world, I would’ve bought this book for everyone as a gift. It’s the perfect book for those who are struggling with their finances, and there’s more to it than money talk.

Such an enlightening read! This opened more possibilities for me and family! I agree with everything that the author has shared, her philosophy, her personal experiences, and the stories of other people. This book is credible enough to be used for educational purposes. I don’t know why kids aren’t taught subjects that deal with real issues. Before you can teach kids math, teach them what math is for and what is the true value of money. That’s what should be taught to kids now a days. This book should be part of the school curriculum.

Surprisingly good

I love this as a tool of awareness and clarity. I love how it combines mindset and finances. At some level that it encourages counseling and coaching. If there is a critique, this book leaves off there. It doesn’t fix per se’. There’s some enlightenment. But I see this as a revealing book. A connection book, and from there, I think is where the true fix is - what comes after his book. But still good at what it does. I can’t think of another book quite like it.

I thoroughly enjoyed the teachings of this book. I found myself taking a deeper look inside on how finances have impacted my mental health. I also took away some tools that can help me in my professional life. I do think this is a book that is more hands on and is harder to grasp reading as an E- book. There’s a lot of activities that require thinking and a lot of self truth. The author did a good job.

I received this book from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I've had an eye-opening experience in reading this book; it was more of a self-reflection. There are different perspectives shown in this book that made me realize a lot of things. That having a financial mindset fix involves many factors, and you can only be successful in having a better life if you truly know your self-worth. Highly recommend this book if you are willing to assess yourself and accept what’s hindering you from achieving financial freedom.

This was more of a personal reflection and examination to uncover our own self-worth. Not many financial books can connect mental and physical health to financial mindset because more often than not, the goal is how to make more money. But this book teaches readers more on the value of the most important things in life, which will then reflect on one's ability to achieve self-love, happiness, and financial abundance.
