LUST, HATRED, GREED, AND VENGEANCE ALL COMBINE TO MAKE THIS JOURNEY ONE OF THE MOST DANGEROUS AND DEADLIEST OF THEM ALL.
They had rescued a young Nez Percé warrior from the warring Blackfoot and were bound on a journey to take him home to his people. The vast land of the Bitterroot Mountains and the badlands that lay at their feet, held more obstacles than they expected.
It was to prove to be a treacherous journey, fraught with natural disasters and conflicts with familiar foes. But when confronted with evil of another sort, an evil that sought to destroy their very own, it became kill or be killed, and blood would soon paint the mountains and the plains of the wilderness.
Yet even in the most challenging times, friends can be found, and old acquaintances renewed. But it takes more than friendship and new allies to dispel the wickedness that comes from darkness of malevolence. And when vengeance drives the demented, can there be deliverance? When women warriors prove their mettle, anything can happen, and usually does.

Bob Rundell – Stonecroft Saga Bk 10 – Bitterroot Badlands – Reviewed 10/7/20 – Read 10/3/20
When a trip to the north becomes a living nightmare, fear, and danger all around!
Spring has arrived and Gabe and Ezra are ready for more adventures, but will they be able to go? They are both happy when they realize that the women are just as anxious to get out and see new places and things, meet new people, and besides, they need to take the kids back to their tribes.
Gabe and his wife, Cougar Woman, had found Two Drums after a Blackfoot raid late the previous fall. He had been kidnapped but escaped during the raid. With them too, was Little Owl, they had also rescued her from the Blackfoot tribe after she had been kidnapped. Both kids had spent the winter with them.
Even though both women had just given birth recently, Cougar to a little boy and Grey Dove a little girl. The women would put the babes in their cradleboards. This was Dove’s second child, as the previous year, she had Chipmunk. and he could ride with his father. All would be well, and they could travel to both tribes to return the older kids. Salesh for Little Owl and Nes Perce’ for Two Drums. They had learned plenty over the winter, speaking and reading the white man’s words, and more about the God of the Bible, both were eager to share with their people.
Little did the group know that this journey would be their most dangerous trip, and the deadliest of any before. When lust, hatred, greed, and vengeance are around it is best to be on your guard, even the women will have to be warriors to save them.
And the story begins…
What did I like? As Bob continues with his Stonecroft Sagas, I become more and more enchanted with his writing style. It has always amazed me how authors can come up with the most remarkable storylines. Bob’s is intriguing, adventurous, and emotional with every book. The love and devotion of the couples and the friendship between the two men and their wives are marvelous. I have to say this again as I have said it in the past, these values that hold the group together were more common during the nineteenth century. Something happened sometime in the late twentieth and twenty-first century that has changed the way people are. I hope that maybe with this situation that we are enduring today, it will change this with everyone, or at least some. We need to love and care more about our friends and neighbors as they did in the past. But, then again, this is just my way of looking at things. Some might disagree with me, and they are entitled to do so.
What will you like? Oh, my goodness, this book has so much going on in it! The action, the emotions, the characters, and the storyline are nothing short of, just astonishing! When Bob decides to give us more, wow, he does it! On one side we have the action, and on the other we have emotions, they are both tied together. The men experience so much fear for the safety of their wives and children, as they are threatened almost continuously. We also have emotions that have not been in this series before, lust, hatred, and vengeance. This can be an extremely dangerous combination of emotions that can drive a person mad! You will have to read this to see how it plays out; but be prepared for your best read ever! Do not miss adding this to your Western Library, available on October 14, 2020!
Another interesting story about Gabe and Ezra as they continue their exploration journey into the Bitterroot Mountains. They meet French Canadian traders and have their first clash with them. Later they help a group of American Traders take down the French traders who were intent on killing the American Traders to steal their furs and trade goods. That Gabe and Ezra are intent on meeting new Indian tribes makes their story even more interesting. Franklin
Each Stonecraft Series Just Keeps Getting Better and Better! No reader can ask more of an author than to know your material well and include historical facts while weaving it into a most enjoyable and entertaining tale! All that, plus some conforting advice through character conversations, provided tremendous value.
This time they take the young captured Nez Perse back home and start on a new adventure. This book shows the filth some can become. Rapists, thieves and murderers. A young boy gets caught up with them, but Ezra leads him to God before he passes. It is bittersweet. Great story, but too much to tell. Highly recommended for all readers.
Ok..I'm hooked. This is an amazing and spell binding series. I can't wait for the next book. When I do get a new book I find that I can't put it down. Please Keep writing.
This series is worth 10+ stars. I look forward to the next 📚. These books make you feels like you are there with the people you can just picture the woods and trees and the running waters. Thank you B. N. Rundell for these awesome books.
Fantastic..... Each and every one of these books is like visiting with family members who have been away for a year or more.... I really like the "coming home" of new volume s...
Better then the last two , more action an suspense enjoy the round about trip meeting more tribes and encountering more conflict but in the end return to your cabin Nice adventure
Another great addition to Gabe's and Ezra's adventures in the west. Great descriptions of the country and people. Glad that Matthew found the Lord. Anxiously waiting for next adventure.
As you the reader continue to follow these two men and their families you begin to understand what the explorers may have encountered in the new world.
This is a western series that not only offers frontier action but includes a healthy dose of history and spiritual insight...an unusual combination that actually makes a "good read".
AWESOME. History lesson that I wish we could have had it taught to us the way these books do. I loved every book. Just finished book 15 a week ago. Give yourself a treat and start book 1 and I promise you will be hooked.
I enjoyed reading about the early Americans. It all sounded real. I also was interested in having a Christian outlook in a western story, that is very lacking in most westerns. Presenting the gospel, ie, Christ died for our sins, was understood by many in that era, but is rarely mentioned in novels, specifically novels set in our western history. I look forward to any reading any book by Mr Rundell.
Gabe and Ezra decide to take Two Drums and Little Owl back to his people the Nez Perce. When they arrive there, They soon have problems the Blackfeet, French traders, and two who are out to kill Cougar Woman.
