I love to read and write stories where the male lead cares more for the leading lady's happiness than his own pride.

I read this book when Janine had just finished writing it, and it was excellent then. Now, after being edited and polished, it's even better! The characters are so warm, so real, so wonderful, you can't help but fall in love with them. Even the secondary characters are memorable and unique.

I particularly loved this story because the female lead, Liv, is blind. As someone who is married to a person with a visible difference, I was thrilled to see that the author handled Liv's disability with care and respect. I also loved that Liv was a strong, intelligent, able person who happened to be blind. Too often in our books, movies, and films, persons with differences (visible and invisible) are cast in roles of helplessness, disadvantage, submission, or villainy. Or worse, the person becomes secondary to the disability. But not in Nothing More. This is a more accurate portrayal of reality.

In addition to Liv and how kind and sweet she was, I ADORED Tannon. I actually felt like he did the most growing in this book. As you read, don't be surprised if you're thrown back to that moment in high school when you had your first serious crush. You'll remembering the thrill and terror and newness of it, the crazy doubts and emotions that rolled through you from moment to moment. You'll swoon, you'll laugh, you'll be torn by emotions...maybe even cry a little.

Lastly, you'll love the friendships in this book. Janine has created the friends we all hope to have/are grateful we have. The ones that make life so much more amazing because they're sharing our journey with us.

I would absolutely recommend Nothing More to readers looking for a great YA book with tons of heart.

I read to be entertained, to escape and to fall in love over and over again. This book has all of that and more! Janine is amazing at character development and causes you to just relate to and fall in love with all of her characters. Most are warm and caring and characters that you want to cheer for. The story is a love story, a young adult love story that anyone can enjoy. The story flows nicely and is orchestrated beautifully. You are in suspense, there are surprises and lots of growth from beginning to end. What an incredible imagination Janine has. I look forward to hearing more about this beautiful talented author.

Do you remember what it was like to be 17, 18?? Those are some of the most difficult years of life but they can be some of the greatest as well. I had such a excellent group of friends, loyal to the core, they reminded me of this group.
This was a really good coming of age story, filled with all the good and bad of high school years, add in a strong but blind main character (Liv) and another with a learning disability, which the author did such a damn good job with. The writing is solid.
It is a story of firsts, of friendship of love and inner strength and much growing. You will love these teenagers as they struggle and celebrate what it means to be young.
Maybe you'll think back to the magic of your first kiss, or the insecurities we all carried with youth or how about the days that your whole world was ending (you thought so anyways). I found myself looking back with a smile.

First off, I was happy to read a book in which one of the main characters has a physical disability. The literary world is improving with racial diversity, but there is a severe underrepresentation of people with physical challenges in young adult literature. The author clearly researched the material and I learned so much about what it feels like to be blind. I also learned about the inner struggles of someone with dyslexia.

The varying first-person perspectives of our protagonists draw readers in from the first page. Liv and Tannon are seniors in high school who have been friends since freshman year. Liv has always thought of Tannon – albeit a nice guy – as a conceited jock and a player who has a different girl every week. On the inside, Tannon is a hurt young man who lost his mother at fourteen, and was bullied due to being in special ed. classes. On the outside, he exudes confidence as a tough, muscular hockey player who is popular with his friends. On the inside, he is a passionate painter and poet with deep feelings for the girl he pines for. He loves Liv for her sweetness, beauty, and optimism in the face of her challenges. Not to mention, Liv is fearless, which Tannon admires. It was inspiring to read how Liv functioned normally although she was blind. I cannot even ice skate with 20/20 vision, and here Liv is gracefully mastering the ice. Of course, she then cracks up with laughter after careening into a pile of snow!

During the story, Tannon struggles with telling Liv his true feelings for her. When Liv gets a steady boyfriend, things go from bad to worse. Meanwhile, Liv is happy but confused. Tannon is one of her best friends; why is he ignoring her all of a sudden? These characters grow and change so much throughout the story, which makes it worth reading for that reason alone. Liv and Tannon’s best friends are thoroughly developed with their own difficult home lives. This story shows that family means loving one another, whether you are blood-related or not.

This book was such a heartfelt, encouraging, and suspenseful read! I really had trouble putting it down because I wanted to see how the characters would end up. I think teens will love the relatable characters, the high school setting, and all the adventures these friends have. There is a positive message of self-love that will resonate with young people today. Teens will find this book informative and perhaps become more empathetic to the struggles of their peers.

If I could feel her love for just one day
I would accept my death the next and say,
"I have live a blessed life.
I was loved by the girl I adore.
She was all I wanted...nothing more."

This story is about Liv and Tannon, two high school students that are trying to find their way in, not only school but life. Liv was born blind and is having issues with people not trusting she can do anything a person with sight can do. She is very independent and tries to do everything she can without asking for help. Liv does have issues with trust when it comes to others helping her. She must depend on her other senses, so when someone can “see” a problem and help her, she mistook it for pity.

Tannon is a young man who is popular and hiding behind his popularity. All common issues for high schoolers to have. You feel for Tannon. He was such an amazing person, and that he had loved Liv for YEARS was so sweet. Tannon has had many hardships in his young life that made him hide behind the popular façade.

The minor characters, their best friends, their parents, were such an amazing group. Tannon's dad was a very sweet man. Liv's mon and step dad were what you would want for a child with a "disability". They encouraged her every step of the way and never tried to make Liv feel inferior.

I used to read YA as much as I could. It was a breath of fresh air and reminded me what teenagers and high school was about. Everyone is unsure, their self-confidence is low. I was pleased when it all came together. I am so happy that I won this book in a giveaway because I have never heard of the author before. After reading this book I am going to start reading YA again.

As an adult reader, Anything More brought me right back to my high school days. The friendships, the struggle of finding who you are, and the awkwardness of new romantic relationships.

I think one of the things I found most appealing were Liv and Tannon, the MC's, because both have disabilities. Their disabilities are portrayed with dignity and respect and I absolutely loved that. Bravo to the author for the realistic portrayal!

I truly enjoyed Nothing More because it's well written, not to mention that I loved the cast of characters because they had so much heart!
