Anushkaa is young, dynamic and deeply passionate, with her goals clearly set out. Fresh out of college, she has just stepped into the corporate world, chasing her dreams. Life seems perfect.
Ayush meets Anushkaa on her first day at work, and feels a spark of liking rush through him. Torn between his heart and mind, he is sure he is smitten by her magical charm. A chance conversation with Anushkaa evokes emotions he hasn’t felt in years. She seems to be perfect.
But does a perfect life exist?
When they meet again four years later, their hearts are broken and their will to love is lost. They heal each other’s hearts and help each other achieve their dreams. Finally, when they start living for themselves and each other, life plays a cruel card.
Anushkaa’s diary is her only true companion, holding within the pages the secret that nobody else will ever know. Join Ayush and Anushkaa on this rollercoaster of emotions, and take a peek into the secret Anushkaa has buried in The Diary of My Love.
This book deals with a lot of angst & emotional turmoil with some pragmatic diary entries as life lessons.
Hustling between her aspirations & muddled emotions of love Anushka is trying to make it work with Sahil. Moving to different cities seems to make this relationship more real & viable then why does her heart skip a beat on meeting Ayush her trainer in office. Her judgment of her feelings towards Ayush gets overshadowed by her commitment to Sahil. She seems to be on a roller coaster ride with her emotions, her health, her anxieties and nothing seems to be working in her favour. Finally moving back to pune taking a break & having a blissful secret in her life is making her hopeful for her future. Will this lead to the happiness that she was seeking all along or just another phase which will only bring pain?
No this is not a love triangle at all, the story is more or less about the emotional battles among us where we usually don’t listen to our heart or don’t give importance to our feelings & then face the music of destiny. The diary entries was the most engaging part other than the storyline. It was a good one time no-sweat read for me. The narrative is from college life to corporate life so will be a good one for young adults.
🍁BOOK REVIEW 🍁 . . 🍂OVERVIEW: Anushkaa is young, hardworking and deeply passionate with her goals. She has just stepped into the corporate world, working, earning and having fun. Life seems too perfect.
Ayush, a trainer in Anushkaa's office. When Ayush meets Anushkaa on her first day at work, he feels a sudden pull towards her, a spark of liking rush through him. Anushkaa is perfect in every way and she evokes emotions he hasn't felt in years.
But perfect life does not exist and they fall into the cruel trap of life.
🍂REVIEW: Again an Indian cliche romance. The story is not captivating nor exciting, there's nothing new in it. What I expected it to be an epistolary but it's nowhere near one such.
The language is lucid and written in very simple Layman's English. I think a perfect read for beginners who wants to start reading simple books first. And the quality of writing is also good. I did like some lines in this book.
But the distressing thing about this book is the pace, I think this book is rushed too much, the plot changes too fast. As if like within 166 pages the author tried to mush every little thing of Ayush & Anushkaa's life and presented it as a book. And then there's some unnecessary information and some undeveloped characters.
Overall it's not a good book for me but cliche romance lovers can definitely read this book.
The diary of my love is a story of Anushka. She is simple, versatile and strong headed girl from Pune, with a dream of settling in Bangalore and becoming an author. After graduation, she is finally able to grab a job in her dream city Bangalore, Where she met Ayush and felt deep connection with him. Will she finally be able to achieve her dreams and reach happy ending? Or destiny has written something else for Anushka?
One thing I loved the most about this book is how author has portrayed so many deep feelings of Anushka. It seemed like author has lived the character of Anushka. I could really feel her pain and her happiness as well. There are so many effective quotes on first love, friendship, heartbreak, betrayal and never ending pain written in book. How Anushka healed by herself and became resilient is an inspiration.
I felt so anxious and broken when I finished this book. I could engage with this book really well. Writing style is simple. Any beginner can read this book.
My takeaway from this book is, be strong and fearless warrior in life. Never ever bend your knees in front of any person or any situation. Never hesitate in sharing your feelings. You never know which path you will walk on so just go with the flow without worrying and repenting over small things.
In beginning I found the writing style very intriguing and effective. But till book reached first half, it couldn't connect well with me. I was bored while reading middle part. But last few pages were outstanding and it definitely shook me.
Beginners can enjoy this book very well. But if you are avid reader then there are chances that you might not like this book as you might have read this kind of storyline.
We always think that there is enough time for us to express our feelings or to talk our minds out but no ....the universe has an entire different plan for each one of us walking on the earth. So as humans we need to express, talk and feel things or do things whenever we feel like cause it's of noooo guarantee that who all will get that "time" . A book which perfectly illustrates this particular concept through a simple and cliche topic. The plot progress through some diary entries which can also be viewed as inspirational thoughts. The writing style is extremely elaborative which is actually a strong point considering the readers will get a clear idea to imagine the minute details but in this case I felt like it was a bit tooooo descriptive. Simple and lucid language utilization with a tinge of "hooked" on to the book kind of feeling towards the end. . Recommended if you are looking for a light read of an innocent and mature romance with some inspirational thoughts. ⭐⭐⭐ . The blurb🥀 It's the story of Anushkaa, a motivated and ambitious girl who do good things and expects the same from others. The book particularly focuses on her love life including a descriptive journey through her academics and career.
I have always like simple romantic books because they give us subtle lessons in love. This one taught me that even if your first love doesn't work out, it doesn't mean that you should loose all hopes. Just wait, you will find your true love.
The storyline of this book is quite interesting. It starts with Anushka's present and then tells about her past, making the reader wonder how she ended up in present. The book also has quotes and verses on love which are lovely.
But I feel that the book was a bit fast paced. It was jumping from one year to another in a few pages. Also, the characters lacked depth. I would have liked to know a bit more about them.
All in all, it was a good story but I felt that it could have been written in a better way!
The book starts by introducing Anushkaa who seems like a calm person to the outside world. But inside, she has a storm which never allows her a moment of peace. The story travels with Anushkaa, from her college where she fell in love with Sahil and goes on to work as per her dreams. But life is never smooth and her peace is disturbed by those she love the most. . To start with, I love the book cover! The author has shared Anushkaa's life and the pain she experiences during many phases of her life. The stress she feels when she gets absorbed into the corporate world, the burden of maintaining a relationship while building her career and many others are expressed in the book. Even though her pain is shared extensively, I felt that if the relationship that she shared with her loved ones had been expressed in a better way, the pain could have been understood better by the readers. Parents' support in their child's life is highlighted in many parts of the story. There are many snippets from the protagonist's diary that contain thought-provoking quotes. The author's writing is good and I enjoyed it. I will always cherish this author signed copy!
We all need balance and stability in life be it in perspective of health, friendship, relationship, and career. Yet life has many surprises for us, both delightful and upsetting. Same is with Anushkaa, she's compassionate, smart, and mature enough to keep her dreams, and emotions in equilibrium. Anushkaa's dream to work in Bangalore comes true, there she meets Ayush. Despite being in a relationship with Sahil she feels a spark between them. So does Ayush, he's heart skips a beat at their first meet. Things get better and seems to gain balance when life awaits another twist, another surprise. . TDOML has such beautiful diary snippets that are genuinely motivating..not fictional but relate to reality. I must say...if some day I'm feeling low, I could grab the book and read those snippets. I'm damn sure they'll make a difference. Thank you author for you have them highlighted.
Written in multiple POVs, The Diary of My Love by Deesha Sangani is a poignant love story of Anushkaa and Ayush, who despite overcoming various hurdles and obstacles during a course of time cannot surmount before destiny.
Read this review as well as my other reviews here:
If we look at the greater picture, the book basically has four characters, Anushkaa: the female MC, Ayush: The Male MC, Sahil: OM and Riya: OW.
Anushkaa and Sahil meet when they are in college and apparently, he has developed a huge crush on her. He tries to woo her at every turn and though Anushkaa is a bit unwilling to reciprocate the same feelings, she later finds herself forming a bond with him.
The story progresses and they both soon have to part their ways as they both have opted to go on different career paths.
Anushkaa moves to another city for her first job. On her first day at work, she meets Ayush, who is supposed to train her and guide her, and she immediately falls for him. However, her relationship status with Sahil is still unclear as they are not a couple per se, but yet they haven't broken up / officially ended it either.
Ayush also has feelings for Anushkaa, but when he finds out that she is in a relationship with someone else, he decides to move on and marries Riya.
I hated Riya. She was a leech, who married Ayush just for the sake of his money and good looks. I am not a violent person at all, yet when she tore that Secret Santa note, I wanted to shout at her in frustration. She grated on my nerves like hell.
My thoughts about the Heroine:
Anushkaa was a perfect example of how today's modern girl should be. She is careeristic and has high ambitions, yet is also grounded in her relationships and hasn't let the corporate world change her.
My thoughts about the Hero:
Ayush was touted to be the ‘‘Playboy’’ and was supposedly pitched as a Casanova in the blurb and description of the book as well. However I found him to be a good guy who just wanted to find true love. He was caring and never shied away from his responsibilities.
My thoughts on the book:
I loved the writing style of the author. It was very clean and the style didn't feel monotonous at all.
Looking at the story, up until 60 percent mark, I definitely thought that it was going to be an average second chance romance book, however the twist that came at the end took me by surprise. It became the turning point of the book for me and made it stood out from the rest of the love stories.
My Favorite Quote:
‘‘You faked well in your life and buried your feelings. You locked your heart in my heart and left the key with me, with a hope to never find the key. The deepest sea could find the key to your heart, but it would weigh my heart with guilt and pain. I would hide the key deep in my heart because I would never let you drown in the never-ending chaos of the world. This is an incomplete end.’’
My Rating:
The plot twist was really heartbreaking for me and such an unexpected one. Even though I didn't like it and wanted HEA for the couple, it felt realistic because all stories don't have a happy ending in true life. I'm going to give this book Five Diary Stars⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Book Title: The Diary of my Love Author: Deesha Sangani Format: Paperback
Book Title: The title of the book is ‘ The Diary of my Love ‘ is heartening and nostalgic.
Book Cover: The cover of the book is a picture of a young woman draped in mustard sweat shirt and writing a journal. .
My review: The feeling of meeting your love of life is unexplained and wonderful. But not every time life is a bed of roses. In the same way, love comes with thorns too. One such heart touching and the reality-poking story is.
Anuskha is a self-made girl with lots of dreams and wishes. She is one person who deals with heartbreak, and later on, her emotions pile up and lead to depression.
When life gives a person various chances to express themselves, there are certain situations where the feelings get muted, and emotions get suppressed. In such cases, often people feel alone and become aloof from the rest of the world. These kinds of situations may bring drastic changes in one’s life. It can either break the person or get new hope. In this connection, in the story, Anushka is one person who amidst many chaoses in life created hope for herself.
The story is about Anushka, her life, her relationships and her idea of life after many tormented situations.
What I like: 1.The plot and the storyline are good and gives an awesome feeling to the reader and allows us to imagine and picture the scenes.
2.Anushka’s friendship with Sahil and relationship with Ayush is explained nicely.
3 The concept of writing a journal and the story read through it is unique and interesting.
What I didn’t like: In particular, there are no negative points. The plot and story are perfect. The narration could have been more enthusiastic and lively.
Characters: Characters are good, and the author has done justice to all the characters.
Narration: The narration of the entire story is engaging.
Language & Grammar: A clear language with neat and uncomplicated grammar is used in the book.
My Final Verdict: A simple and interesting one-time read story
Book Title: 3/5 Book Cover: 3/5 Plot: 3/5 Characters: 3/5 Narration: 3/5 Language & Grammar: 3/5 Final Rating: 3/5
I picked up this book and literally finished it in a single sitting and I never imagined I would do so. It’s so captivating and emotional that I couldn’t put it down. I will briefly summarise the blurb. The protagonist of the story is Anushkaa. The story is written from the point of view of Anushkaa and Ayush. Anushkaa is a marketing head with a leading company in Pune. Ayush is her ex colleague. Ayush had a dream of opening cafe and Anushkaa wanted to be a writer. The story is in flashbacks. Anushkaa had a dream of writing book since college. Sahil was his boyfriend. But Anushkaa wants to put her career ahead of him. At point I felt her character as selfish if we see her in reference to Sahil but then I realised I would do the same. Ayush encouraged her to peruse her dreams. The heart touching part for me was Anushkaa’s struggles after losing loved ones and overcoming grief. I can totally relate to the point when she wasn’t ready for relationship. The story is written in flashbacks in different timeframes so it was initially confusing for me. But later on story took turn and ended on strong note. I didn’t imagine that twist and ending. It was unpredictable and heart touching for me. It was like emotional roller coaster. I liked sentences like “caged by society” and “Have wings to fly, to get over all your fears” I liked diary entries mentioned in every chapters. The narration style of the author is captivating. The language of the book is lucid that way everyone can pick it up. It’s written from two point of views and it’s really tough job to do. Author has done amazing job in it. Indeed good one. I enjoyed reading it.
This is the story about Anushka, a free-spirited and dynamic girl, who is determined and dedicated towards her goals. The story begins with Anushka, reliving her memories and beautiful moments spent with Ayush, her love of life. She tells about her college life, her first boyfriend Sahil and her imperfect life which all of a sudden take an unexpected turn that changes her life forever. She considers her diary as her best and true friend, where she writes all her feelings. It was her best companion during her good and bad days and it was her diary that helped her to bear the pain during hard times.
'The Diary of my love' by Deesha Sangani is a beautifully penned character-driven story written in the first person by Anushka and also has excerpts by Ayush.
This book is not just a love story. Moreover, it focuses on career, friendship, the balance between career and personal life, dreams and heartbreaks. This is also about self-care, hope and positivity that everyone should have in their lives to get through all hardships. What I loved about Anushka is that, even though she had to go through a difficult phase, mentally, physically and emotionally drained, she stood strong and still had rays of hope and positivity in life.
There are also excerpts from her diary with inspirational and positive thoughts, which I feel if we adapt in our life can make us happier and optimistic and this makes this book more beautiful.
So my friends, if you are looking for a short and light read, I will recommend this to you .
"The diary of my love" is written by Deesha Sangani that comes in Romance genre and was published by Srishti publishers on 12 October 2020. This is the 5th book by the author.
The story revolves around Anushka and Ayush. Anushka,a passionate girl working hard to make a career, she had a supportive family and a bestfriend, called Karan. She had a well maintained relationship with a guy named Sahil but with time, their paths changed and their relationship became complicated. At her worst times, she had only one bestfriend whom she shared each and everything, her true companion, her diary. Anushka moved to Bangalore, started working in a firm, where she first met Ayush and felt a deep connection with him. On the other hand, Ayush, a handsome guy, was a playboy but this time felt the same connection with Anushka, but hesitated to tell her. Will they be able to tell each other about the connection they felt? Grab this book to find out!
The story starts with Anushka's present and then revolves around her past. Some parts were narrated from Ayush's perspective and the rest were done from Anushka's perspective. The cover of the book is beautiful where a girl is writing her diary, which totally justifies the title and the story. The language of the is simple which makes it beginner friendly. As the book, contains only 166 pages, you can complete it in just one sitting. But I felt that the writing style could have been better. Although the book contains some amazing lines which I absolutely loved. The one thing I learned from the book is 'we shouldn't lose hope'. Recommend it to beginners who love Romance. Rating: ⭐⭐⭐.5/5
When everything seems tough, and I feel lack of concentration, I generally pick up romance genre as it usually has a calming influence on my senses. Being highly occupied from last couple of weeks, I was in a kind of reading slump and I needed something to start my reading prowess from the scratch and this book turns out to be a perfect read, satiating what exactly was required.
The book is centered around Anushkaa, a highly jovial girl who is working successfully in Bangalore. Suddenly, readers are taken to the flashback and we get a sneak peak into her life during college and how various hiccups shaped the kind of person she is today. Then there is flamboyant Ayush, who is her senior in the same company and is fighting his own demons. How do the two protagonists fall for each other and how the subsequent events unfold forms the crux of the tale.
The characterisation is done well. But the major shortcoming of the book is its rushed plot. The story could have easily be woven in around 250 odd pages but to the reasons unknown to me it got somehow restricted to under 200 pages. The writing style is quite plain and I dint feel much connected to it. Still, it can be picked up by novice readers to get a hang of it and delve deep into the field of literature
Eventhough the name of the book is "the diary of my love", it is not just a love story. In my opinion, it is an all rounder and goes through love, friendship, campus life, career, dreams, heartbreaks, personal life, positivity and self care. The language and narration of the story is also simple and easily comprehensible one.
It is the story about a young, dynamic, deeply passionate girl Anushka and her college days, friendship, love, career and dreams. The story starts with Anushka's love with Ayush and she decides to make Ayush surprised with an unexoected gift for his birthday. But, life plays a cruel play with both of thier lives. Anushka stood strong and she had rays of hope and positivity in all the negative incidents that had happened in her life. This book tells us about how to stay positive in difficult phases of our life, mentally, physically and emotionally drained conditions.
Anushka had one and only companion througout her life. That is her personal diary. She always do writes about all the good and bad things that had happened in her life, emotions, dreams, hopes. We can also adapt so many positive and inspirtional thoughts from Anushka's diary. Overall, The diary of my love is a simple story with so many positive elements.
Anushkaa is a dynamic girl with a strong will to make her passion come true to write a book and get it published.
Her diary is her one and only companion, partner, friend to whom she shares what has been going through her life everyday.
She puts everything in it which includes her ups, downs, the secrets of her life which she never shared with anyone in her journey.
Anushkaa meets Ayush on the first day of her career life, they find a spark between eachother but do not get connected to different reasons.
After years, they get in touch and find solace between eachother and beat out the difficulties they have been undergoing.
But things do change and are always not in our hands to control them. Will they be able to fight with the changes and start their journey? is all this book is about.
A short book of 176 pages with a simple language to understand. It was a neutral read for me. The book is motivating too with the hard truths we usually take time to accept. The ending was quite unexpected which left a chill to me.😅 I feel small edits are needed in between the pages. The important message that the author has given is to question the purpose of life and accept the course of journey.

The cover of the book is aptly designed and the title is totally relatable. The plot of the story is interesting, engaging and emotional. It is a perfect blend of friendship, love, relationship, goals and reality. The author has perfectly narrated the mentality of society. The writing style of the author is nice. I liked the diary entries style of writing. Language used is simple and lucid.
Characters are well developed and described by the author. The flow of the book is well paced but in the starting it is somewhat boring. Overall, an interesting read.

I recommend this book to all romance lovers out there.
6The Diary of my love by @deeshasangani This book is as the name suggests , a romance genre written in a diary/ journal format. Anushka and Ayush meet at work and instantly have a spark but they do not take any step onwards and later go on their own ways. Fate decides to bring them back together about four years later only to realise that they are both broken beyond mending. They try to heal each other and make one others life better just by being a part of it and develop strong feelings . But do they confess their love to one another? Do they end up being the happily-ever-after couple or does fate have other plans altogether . To find this you have to get on an emotional rollercoaster with Anushka and Ayush ! This is a tale of love hope and dreams.. ♥️💯📚 I finished this book in one sitting . Its an easy read with clear narration and lucid writing. No great plots or twists just a light romance read. I was a little disappointed at some places in the book and wanted them to speak up already but that apart the book was neatly presented and I love the cover of this book. It is one of the main reasons I was attracted to this book even before reading the title or blurb (guilty pleasure) ! I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a light romance read
The diary of my Love - Deesha Sangani @deeshasangani
As the title suggests the book is a diary of a strong headed girl from Pune and her journey if love, career and a lot more. The simplicity with which the author has written the tale makes you feel that you sneaking into the life of the girl through her book and reliving her life and emotion.it’s a fictional book but with a pinch of reality. As all the characters and plots seem real. Also through the story of Anushka a lot of learning’s about life or rather will to live life can be gathered. The book also has some beautiful illustrations where the protagonist Anushka is writing in a diary that I felt just sliced up the read and gave a touch of reality. The book is a quick read and can be completed in a day and half. The book is a lot more than a simple love story it is the diary of Anushka penned by Deesha Sangani. Beginners will enjoy it fir it’s simple and lucid narration and avid one if you looking for something quick read while on the go then this is it.
The story revolves around Anushka and her journey of finding herself while looking for love. It begins to when Anushka is successfully working in a firm in Bangalore, in a relationship with Ayush who was her senior when she joined but has now moved to Nanital to pursue his dream. Then it goes back to the time when Anushka is in college and studying, still finding her place in the world. . The story has been told from two POVs but majority of it is from Anushka’s perspective. We learn about her dreams, hopes and aspirations, about her first love and about her friendship with Ayush that later turns into something more as the story progresses. . The story was good and well constructed but something about the writing didn’t make me feel connected to the characters. There were few instances where it also seemed very unrealistic but that could be overlooked as it’s fiction.
The protagonist in this story is anushka and aayush. Anushka is very hardworking, dynamic personality girl who can face everything with her cute smile.
She don't have many frnds but few and these are the best person one can ever meet. Karan is her best friend and her family is very supportive. She's lucky to have them.
In college she fell in love at 1st sight with sahil. But soon she realise it'll not go long and decided to leave him and join the corporate world in Pune , her 1st job.
There she met ayush and her life fully chnge , he has this playboy personality but still she fall for him.
My view- I don't like the starting portion it's bit rushy and bit boring. It's a one time read.
I really like some decent lines in the book. The cover is good , language is beginner's friendly. One can easily complete this book in one n half day. The title is good. The relationship is very well shown in the book.
.This book is the work of contemporary romance but it is a next level upper than just love or romance this book shows true meaning of friendship , love , dreams , success and happiness. . 🌻. Main protagonist of this story is a young , dynamic and deeply passionate girl Anushkaa . She is just clear college and entre into coparate world , her life looks like picture perfect with her dreams , friends , family and love. She meet ayush at her office find some connections with him but ignore her feelings because of some reasons and after many years they meets their hearts are broken they heals each other . But when everything seems to look perfect life flipped and things changed permanently. . 🌻.very lucid language used in whole book , you may cry while reading some pages . Changing of Pov is exceptionally great . If we talk about author this is her second book and she is a amazing storyteller. I personally loved her work and recommend to every reader and non reader no matter you like this genre or not this definitely a good reads for everyone. .
"I would hide the key deep in my heart because I would never let you drown in the never-ending chaos of the world. This is an incomplete end.’’
The diary of my love by Deesha Sangani is a short romantic read of 164 pages. I pick up romance once in a while, as they feel close to the heart and a soothing breeze to the overburdened mind.
The main protagonists of the story are Anushka, a girl who is strong but emotional and Ayush, who is thought as a 'playboy' at first but in real, is a good hearted guy. Unexpected things happen with Anushka and how she goes through the hurdles life throws at her is the main theme of the book.
The language is lucid but plain to my taste. I loved the cover of the book. Although overall it is slow read, the ending felt little rushed. I admired Anushka for her courage to carry on in adversities.
Overall I would recommend it to the novice readers as one time read.
The Diary of My Love by Deesha Sangani is a story of two simple people Anushka and Ayush with their not so simple life. The story is basically about Anushka. A girl in her late teens with her whole career in front of her and ambitions in her eyes and a will to make them come true. It has love and relationships, heartbreaks, friendships, and hopes.
The book would be a suitable for beginners, who love reading Indian romance fiction as the language is easy going. The story has some twists and turns which are heartbreaking to read. However, the main twist is given in the beginning so the plot became kind of predictable for most of the time. The characters lacked depth and are mostly confusing. The story is told as Anushka's and Ayush's perspective.
I personally loved the relationship between Anushka and her best friend Karan. It's rare to witness such a level of respect and support between friends. The one thing if I have to point out that I liked is the bravery and courage of Anushka to go through any hardship that life presented her with which she would not had done without The Diary of her love.
The plot of The Diary of My Love sounded very intriguing to me, especially the whole "life plays a cruel card" part. Call me morbid, but I love such stuff because you know what? It's reality. Anyway, that single line was the reason I requested a copy of the book for review and I am not kidding when I say that I don't remember the last time I read a book so fast.
The Diary of My Love is the story of Anushkaa- right from her college days to her training days to her work and love life. I found Anushkaa's character to be very relatable as she was mature for her age, well balanced and knew exactly what she had to do to get what she wanted and for her own peace of mind. Problematic protagonists are my favourite, but it was refreshing to read about one who was trying her all to be physically and mentally fit. I could connect with Anushkaa on a whole new level, which helped me understand and appreciate her better.
Aside from a few little things in the author's writing here and there- like the repetition of words and thoughts in one single paragraph and a slight disarray of the timeline- I found it to be uncomplicated. Deesha Sangani has written a very good story about experiences that we have all been through, especially the incidents recounted from Anushkaa's college life took me back to my own college days which left me feeling both nostalgic and surreal.
One thing author Deesha Sangani did really well was portray Anushkaa's emotions and family in the most realistic matter. We all go through our share of ups and downs in life and not all of us find it easy to express ourselves in both happy and sad situations. The author did it very beautifully. It was the complicated story of a simple girl who believed in the world around her and most importantly, in herself.
As I am writing this review, I realise that I haven't said much about the plot, but that's the beauty of it. I would rather the reader discover this relatable, heartbreaking and beautiful story on their own. I finished this book in two days which shows how engrossing and good it was. If you ever want to get a peek into your own mind and all the emotional baggage we carry with us, do pick up this book.
*Note: A copy of this book was provided by Srishti Publishers in exchange for an honest review. We thank them.
Anushkaa is dealing with grief, the feeling of being broken and she is in a situation where she is not even able to share the reason for her condition with her family and friends. As she looks at Ayush’s photo and reminisces about the past, Anushkaa narrates her life starting from her college days. Her long term friendship with Karan and then meeting Sahil accidentally in the college canteen and the immediate love that blossomed between them.
Her dilemma about her relationship with Sahil, her ability to crack a good job through campus selection, and her shifting to Bangalore for her job. Her introduction to Ayush as a senior team member, Sahil’s continued efforts to rekindle their relationship. If Sahil and Anushka did not have a happily ever after, and Anushkaa is grieving about her relationship with Ayush, what could have happened in the lives of Anushkaa, Sahil and Ayush forms the rest of the story.
The Diary of my love is the story of Anushkaa that narrates her life with her family, friends, her complicated love life with Sahil and Ayush, alongside her own personal struggles and how her diary is a constant companion in these ups and downs along with her ambition to be a successful writer. The story begins in current times and then moves back into Anushkaa’s college days narrating about all the people she met on the way.
Except for the initial few chapters, the entire story is told from Anushkaa’s perspective which makes it one-sided, as I would have liked the story told from Karan and Sahil perspective also. The diary entries of Anushkaa which capture her mood for the day, but mainly her way of cheering herself up are the highlight of the story. The story begins well with the author building intrigue around Ayush, Sahil and how their story with Anushkaa will progress.
However, the story suffers from inconsistency in Anushkaa’s characterisation as she is mature one minute and then takes hasty decisions immediately. In an attempt to bring in many twists in the story, the author does not build the characters properly. The story has potential which is not explored, as the middle parts are not as engrossing as the beginning and the climax. The editing could also be better to make the story more gripping.
Even with the shortcomings, the reader will be curious till the end and that is where the author succeeds. Anushkaa’s ambition and never give up attitude are well captured by the author than the love story which lacks depth. If you like to read urban contemporary love stories, then this one makes for a one time read.

FAB - BOOK REVIEW OF "The Diary of my Love" by Deesha Sangani
Genre - Fiction(Contemporary Romance)
Rating - 2.8/5
I wanted to read this book since the day it was released, but I couldn't, but now I got an opportunity to read this book. I was on cloud nine when I got to know that I was going to read this book, but when I started reading it, I really didn't expect the book's work. I am highly disappointed. . Lemme start with the title of the book, which is appropriate, I would say. Then comes the book's cover page, which gave me a lot of hopes and happiness to read the book. By this, you can understand that I am in love with the cover page but not with the book tho. This is a contemporary romance book. So when it's about love stories, there are a few cliche books and some other feel-good romantic books. Still, the thing is, when I am reading this book, I didn't felt anything either felt cliche or that feel-good romantic thing. 😒 The characters didn't really connect to me. There is no base with the characters, and they were not appropriately(properly) developed. That made me feel uncomfortable while reading it. Because characters will make the book special. I didn't felt even a single emotion in the book except in the climax for a few seconds. That's it. . But the thing is it is easy in language, so if you are a beginner, this book will work for you as per the language. If you ask me, this was a straightforward task for me. I was just flipping pages one by one after reading as there were no emotions felt. It is effortless for me to read it. I read this book within one sitting. . A lot of changes should be made: 1. Writing could be better. Because if it is better, one will feel the emotions while reading. 2. Character development is a step where the author should work on. I don't know how to express it, but this book has lost its feel. It is what I felt, and it's it.
I would send my wishes to the author for the number of efforts that went into this book. Hoping for her to come up with much better work next.

'The Diary of My Love' by Deesha Sangani is a book that revolves around Anushkaa and Ayush. Anushkaa is a passionate girl who wants to achieve great things in her life and she is dedicated to her. Ayush is a really sweet guy for whom it was love at first sight when he saw Anushkaa. But, Ayush always used to think too much about everything and Anushkaa too was in a relationship with Sahil and hence they could never really share what they felt about each other. Soon, Ayush gets married to Riya and Anushkaa moves back to Pune after a while. Things were going on for Anushkaa until one day she gets in touch with Ayush when she learns a lot has happened in this period and changed in their life. Soon they start talking with each other but will Anushkaa and Ayush be able to express their feelings for each other? Are they destined to be together or will destiny take over its decision for them? To know read 'The Diary of My Love'.
My Thoughts:
The plot is well written and after reading this book that one thing will surely click to the readers and that is that we sometimes overthink about what others will think. Sometimes it is very important to think and talk over things so that we get a clear picture of what we actually want and what the others person thinks. This has been nicely put forward by the author.
The characters are well developed and relatable. I liked the friendship between Karan and Anushkaa they are always there for each other and even during difficult times they made sure that the other one is doing fine. I also loved how strong Anushkaa is even when there were rumours going around about Ayush she never judged him and lateron too she was a great support to him.
Language is simple and lucid. The narration is done beautifully. I liked how the author has inculcated glimpses of the diary which makes the story even more relatable and feels as if we know the character for a long time.
The book cover is beautiful and apt to the plot. The title of the book is also apt to the plot.
Overall, it was a beautiful read at times it was emotional too.
