Maximilian"Mad Max" Keegan finds himself in a dangerous and desperate situation. Injured, hunted, he and Juggernaut, his fierce military working dog, are lost deep in the jungle until he's discovered by Dr. Renata Cavalcante, who's there to document Paraguayan treasures at the behest of her mentor, an international, renowned anthropologist. Max isn't used to being the one in need of rescuing, but this take charge beauty is a lifesaver, and the dire situation overrules his macho attitude and hits him right in his heart as they must work together on the run of their lives to escape their enemies. But in the steamy jungle, this feisty woman tempts him beyond his own formidable resolve. Has he met his match?
An American with Brazilian roots, Renata is comfortable in South America, speaking the language and researching lost treasure, but where she is out of her element is dealing with an alpha Navy SEAL and his very protective canine. Luckily, Renata used to be a doctor, and even in this challenging environment, she isn’t going to lose her patients. But Max sorely tests her patience and her resolve to keep herself firmly on track. Save the SEAL and then get back to work before she gives into his good looks and all that muscle to discover the amazing man beneath it all. No controlling alpha males for her. She’d had enough of them growing up and there was no future in wanting what she couldn’t have. Was there?

A wonderful addition to the SEAL Team Alpha world and finally we get Maximilian(Mad Max) Keegan and his dog Juggernaut(Jugs) story This book picks up straight form the end of Hemingway If you read that book you will know that on their latest mission Max and Jugs where clipped to the helicopter doing a fast extraction when the unthinkable happens and the line tethering them to the helicopter was severed by a bullet causing them to plummet to the ground. This story picks up from that point. This is where Jugs proves his worth with Max severely injured and him also injured he steals food to keep Max fed and in the process brings Dr. Renata Cavalcante to their aid I have to tell you that in parts Jug really syeals the show this time you get to see him not only has the highly trained MWD that he is but you get to see is funny side as he gives Renata a hard time continually stealing her artifacts. Renata is a trained surgeon but she has walked away from it due to the pressure that her father placed upon her but as she fights to keep Max alive she begins to question if she has done the right thing As she realises she loves medicine she just hated the pressure from her fathr At the same time Max is questioning how he has lived his life as Renata makes him question hoe he has closed himself off While half of Max's team searches for him the other half tries to complete their mission to capture the leader of a terrorist organisation while fighting the corruption of local authorities We also get a guest appearance from Shea Hemingway's fiancee as she searches for her missing marine brother will we get answers to that mystery you will have to read to see. Through out the entire story you get more on the tangled issue that is Max's sister Ann and Oliver (Dodger) Graham setting us up for the next exciting installment in this wonderful series
Seriously Wounded Mad Max And His Savior Renata Journey Toward Mutual Emotional Healing
As I’ve mentioned in countless reviews in this entire series, Zoe Dawson, you are an amazing writer!!!! This installment in the Seal Team Alpha series is packed with action, suspense, heartwarming romance, heartache and countless acts of kindness and self sacrifice. This story is REAL! The characters are believable and so well developed. I loved the entire scenario of Max’s mission injury and his survival with the aid of his amazing canine companion war dog, Jugs, and his cunning ability to retrieve aid for his master. This story drew me in and held my interest to the very last line in the book!
Dr. Renata’s survivalist skills, determination and resourcefulness made for a compelling read. Throughout this story, the subplots were seamlessly woven into the overall story. Ms. Dawson rewarded us with some unpredictable surprise moments that heightened the enjoyment. Oh, the last few lines in this story!!!! WOW!!! Don’t read ahead.... Please. Trust me when I say, you will reflect back on what you read in this book and so much will make more sense. Very clever.
I simply LOVE Dodger and Anna’s painful sexual tension. I’m so looking forward to Dodgers upcoming installment in this series. He SO deserves his HEA..... if that’s at all possible.
This is not a stand alone story. To best enjoy this book I would strongly suggest you begin with Book One and continue on to this installment. Each and every book has been terrific. All the SEALS have been more than worthy of a book of their own. The plots and storylines have been filled with emotion and intrigue. Well worth your time. Once again, Ms. Dawson, I sing your praises! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "MAD MAX" I loved this book so much happens you are on the edge of your seat from beginning to end its full of suspense, intrigue, angst, emotional turmoil, secrets, hot steamy scenes, humor, banter, intense non stop action, twists you never saw coming. This is one amazing read pact with interesting details the journey Max Keegan & Dr. Renata Cavalcante's takes you is thrilling exciting, their chemistry is scorching hot, the danger they deal with while she tries to save his life he's been injured badly along with Jugs his Malinois his protector and partner Seal Dog. So much happens after the Team arrives to get Max back before the terrorist group Al'Irada gets to him to use him as a hostage will he survive with the help of Renata will his team find them in time. I defintely recommend to get this phenominally well written book by Zoe Dawson I loved Max & Renata's story and the all the other Team members in this book made for one addicting read with a shocking ending, I sooo can't wait for the next book ARTFUL "DODGER" GRAHAM & ANNA KEEGAN'S" story.
We are back with SEAL Team Alpha and this time it’s Maximilian/Mad Max Keegan and his trusty military dog, Juggernaut that get story. Though I missed reading the book prior to this one, Hemingway, the author gives up enough information about what I assume was the ending. That being that Max and his dog were left behind when the helicopter that was to take him and his team back to safety was shot at while Max and Juggernaut were on a rope to the safety of the helicopter. One bullet shot the rope through and the other one injured Max. Thankfully, the drop was not too great. But the injuries to both of them and the dehydration could end their lives as could the jungle they were in. That is , until Renata Cavalcante, MD finds them. From that point on the action is non-stop, filled with bad guys, some good ones, and of course romance. One of those, edge of your seat stories that will keep you engaged from the first page to the last. Another winner in this series. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
Mad Max by Zoe Dawson SEAL Team Alpha Series Book Twelve Maximilian “Mad Max” Keegan is in serious trouble. Leaving a mission on the helo, he was shot down, along with his K9, Jugs. They hit more than his lifeline to the chopper. Not to mention the hard landing from the sky. It wasn't looking good...until an angel appeared.
Dr. Renata Cavalcante had left behind her medical training to take up anthropology. She was in Paraquay searching for artifacts. In fact, she found one...and lost it. Some four-legged animal stole her backpack with her ancient find in it.
Max is happy to be alive, but it rankled that a big bad alpha SEAL like him was rescued by a damsel. A beautiful damsel, but still. A secondary story taking place is Oliver “Dodger” Graham and Max's youngest sister, Anna. No dating unless the brother SEAL was okay with it...and Max was not okay with any of his SEAL brothers dating his sister. Page-turner as always. **Sexual content and language https://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com...
This book grabbed me before it was even published - the previous book relates how Max and Jugs, his Military Working Dog, fell from a helicopter when the rope by which they were descending into the jungle was severed by a bullet. This book starts from where Max regains consciousness, injured in the jungle. His incredible partner, his dog Juggernaut, despite also being injured, brings him food and indirectly also Dr Renata Cavalcante, who manages to get them both to temporary shelter where she can help them. The book is full of action from the start, including an earth quake which makes a difficult situation even harder. His team are desperate to find him but also have to complete the job they were there to do, so have to split. There are twists, romantic moments, hot steamy scenes, team humour, support and loyalty. Another great book in this series - my favourite so far, but I think I say that with each successive book, as we find out more about each of the characters.
Adventurous, wild, suspenseful, involving so many team members, family, the brotherhood, corrupt government, drug cartel and the unknown. Dodger and Max’s sister have been dancing around each other for 2 years because of the brotherhood code to not date a teammate’s sister. They are on fire for each other and it is coming to a boiling point.
On the other hand, the team is way past Plan A and many more to finish their black op mission. Pure FUBAR. On a helicopter rope extract the unseen happens. A bullet shreds the rope holding Max and Jugs, crashing them to the ground un enemy territory. Both being hurt are in big trouble. Jugs thievery brings Dr Renata into the mission. Can she be the heroine? We also have Shea still looking for her lost Marine brother missing for 2 years. Lot of suspense, touch and go, finding soulmates and love.
So far I have read the entire series, and Mad Max is a favorite! The story is well balanced with banter within the team, the sex scenes and the action. And of course there is Jugs. He brought humor into the story , and his loyalty to his master brought tears to my eyes.
Renata is a strong woman and holds her own with Max. We see both of them have some intense aha moments about who they are. We also see incredible acts of kindness and bravery.
If sex scenes bother you then this book might not be for you. Same if you have problems with any kind of swearing.
I don’t recommend reading or not reading a book. Look at a variety of reviews from 5 to 1 stars and see if the book is for you. I can only say I read this book in two days and now I have a lot of catch up for work!
If like me you are a Romantic Suspense/Military Romance fan and you haven’t read THIS series yet...than I can’t recommend it enough!
Every book within the SEAL Team Alpha series is brilliant, they are so addictive, each time you think you have a favourite, the next one comes along and BAM 🔥 It is no different for Mad Max, book 12.
Max and Renata were so great together, the storyline was funny, romantic, sensual and intense at times.
Due to the team having to split up for a mission we did have a few storylines ongoing, 1 in particular caught my eye...Oh Dodger, you are my favourite, but I have a feeling Anna is going to break you down 🥰😂 (not usually a fan of British characters in American books, but this author does his accent/wording so well 👏🏼)
Must read book, highly recommend this series, and this book ❤️📚
I love how Zoe ends a book in the series with the beginning of the next story. If you read Hemingway (which is my favorite) you know that Max falls and we have to wait until his story to learn what happens! Seals are tough and Max survives his fall and with Renata has a very happy ending. I love this series - each one a little bit different - and all connected in a family way. I can't wait to see what happens with Dodger in the next story!
Talk about a SNAFU. This was a great story, and I loved that the author managed to make a big alpha male macho and yet have the woman helping him out, instead of the damsel always in distress. Not that she was in a much better position by the middle of the plot unfolding, but still! She's got a lot of guts and I enjoyed every moment of it.
Great addition to the series, stands alone well enough.
I really enjoyed Max and Jugs, they are an extraordinary team. The love they have for each other is more than some know in a lifetime. Renata is a strong woman that can stand up to any situation and with Max she can hold her own. She's smart, funny, lovable and takes charge when needed.
Like all other books in this series (which you should totally read in order) this is an amazing story, action packed, fast paced and great characters. It is one of the most fluid stories, narrative flows so smoothly you finish it in a blink. Took me back to the good 2 first books in the series and can't wait to have more of these.
Zoe has done it again with her exciting Aloha Males. Max and Jugs are wonderful characters and had Me in the edge of my chair one minute and laughing the next, just wonderful writing
Oh my goodness, this was such a good book! Renata is as kick ass as Max....and Jugs....what a smart-ass! Definitely worth every minute reading. This is one of those 'don't mind if I read it again' books.
There r 3 love stories going on at once. The surgeon turned archaeologist. Max's little sister doing a mission for Whom?? I love this series. And this author. Can't wait to read more
