I have mixed feelings about this book. On the one hand it was a useful exercise in confronting the clutter I have accumulated over the years and gave me the much needed kickstart to clear my living space - The book's job has been done! On the other hand, I read a paperback version of this book and was bitterly disappointed with the apparent lack of proof reading. There were regular errors littered throughout the pages. I was also irritated that the book was neither British nor American. Some examples were given in dollars and some in pounds. Some advice clearly directed to the US and some to the UK. It would have been better to produce a different copy for each target audience. However, the questions throughout the book really made me think about the choices I was making and the one I will continue to use most is "If someone took it away would you buy it back regardless of the cost?" One final thing - if you're intending to get rid of loads of books I can recommend www.Bookcrossing.com where you can give your books an ID number and track their journey once they leave you.
It was ok, some helpful tips, maybe people who are just starting out on a minimalist journey might take more from this book. The author references other people but doesn't name them which is strange. He is quite clearly talking about Courtney Carver and her project 333 system at one point but doesn't mention her by name, which I thought was odd.
