After being on the last few pages of the book, I didn't only discern the surreal feeling of having an in-depth glimpse into such eulogized writings (especially on areas espoused in Ontological and Epistemological anthologies, including Books on Personal Stories, Tomes on Fiction, Verses coupled on spirituality) but then, I got to know that "Admitted" stands out in every other aspect.

Inclusion of Personal Anecdotes at the right place where the reader would expect them to be, Quintessentially cementing testimonials (of then graduate students) in-between and some at the end of each chapter, Inserting appropriate images/pictures at right stages of the book to keep the reader engrossed in having an all-round satire and especially retaining the flow of information along with facts and figures throughout the book right from its inception to its conclusion makes it a Best-seller.

Pertaining to the fact, I can now undoubtedly opine that this book will reach into more and more needy hands who contemplate the ever biggest dream of commencing their higher education or career in western countries. I'd love to spread the word and endorse this anthology to all those ones who are in desperate need of an encyclopedia on literally almost every "How-To's", "Ifs, buts and what if's" amidst the graduate school application process.

In years to come, "Admitted" will become that go-to guide for each and every BS - MS - PhD - aspirants. Whenever there's a moment of darkness in any part of our graduate application process this book will rudimentarily act as that flare for paving way to clarity.
May be this is why we read, and why in moments of darkness return to books; to find words for what we already perceive!

To all the fellow aspirants out there, who would like to triumph and translate their dreams into reality, this would be your secret ingredient. Some might wonder, why do I need to invest in a book while everything is available on the internet? I can give you some reason after carefully reading this book :
1) With the growing number of active netizens, misinformation is propagating in a much faster pace than genuine and well-researched/cited information. A simple search for a keyword in a search engine regarding graduate admissions will leave your mind more confused than the time before you performed this action. I do not see any need for you to blemish your dreams.
2) As human beings, we seek personal anecdotes blend with facts rather than just facts thrown at us. Like a well balanced chemical reaction, the two ingredients are added at the right amount to not leave the reader overwhelmed and baffled.
3) During every step in our journey of life, we tend to stop and ask ourselves "why" far more than "how?" This book will help you answer this "why" backed by psychological evidence and give you a guiding hand towards the "how" in a laconic and pragmatic way.
4) As someone who has throttled a similar path as the authors of this book in a different country, I could vicariously relate and reflect with major portions of the book. Even if you aren't considering graduate admissions, this book is a resourceful read. Perhaps it will answer "why you wouldn't want to pursue higher education?" for you.
5) The primary author is a gregarious and altruistic person (eminent through her online presence and writing) and this purchase will be pipelined to a philanthropic cause which could reinforce the purpose of education and restoring its intend.
To summarize in the words of the author, this book in essence is a "bridge" to those who seek quality education and those who can offer it.
TL;DR: Buy the book, you will never regret it. In a few years, when you reflect about your actions, this would be the most gratifying one.

A well-articulated, intricately woven book with the experiences of authors, contributors which elucidates the students, the need to prepare themselves not just technically, but also in almost all spheres of their personality, adding value to their resumes, SOP’s and LOR’s, the skills thus acquired for applying, studying, finding internships, information about visas by ironing out the differences in the shortlisting criteria of the universities and the job market approaches. It thus helps oneself to break a lot of myths and anecdotal details that many of the aspirants hold with respect to studying in the US or any other country abroad. The book imparts a feel of the surreal presence of author and the contributors, narrating the readers autobiographically, educating the reader how to make decisions in a variety of scenarios like choosing one's university, the courses to consider, application strategies, scholarships available. The book puts a lot of weight behind not just the What, When, Where, Who/Which, but also on the Why and how, thus provides useful threads and encourages the readers by putting food for their thought, thus rendering them to create their own path to success. This truly marks the book apart from other characteristic guides. The statements are aptly backed up by statistics from authenticated sources, adds more sheen to the book alongside interesting visuals, interesting wordplays, use of powerful techniques such as six hats of thinking employed, thus silently demonstrating the need for the students to push up their benchmarks many notches higher.
The book highlights the fact that their higher studies also involve mastering overall development of oneself in addition to their technical expertise. It necessitates importance taking responsibility and onus on oneself shed their former self or reinvent and adapt oneself to face a new environment with different perspectives, culture, a process where they experience the realities of life, a paradigm shift in one's lives. This is illustrated through various personal accounts of students pursuing their higher studies abroad and a collage of the images of the authors to give one a sneak peek into a life that the students can expect when pursuing their masters.
The content of key chapters like crafting SOP, LOR is aptly supported resources providing threads for the student from which the students to expand their horizons like an inverted funnel to gather a lot more knowledge in this respect. I truly wish the authors expand their vision to other aspirants and augmenting the content, which would amount to great service for the aspirant community.
Further, the testimonials which adorn the cover and pre-prologue validate the utility and the impact that the book has created and is capable of creating in the life of future aspirants and readers. This is effectively Interlaced with humour about the practical challenges that a student would face during the process which makes the reading experience more enjoyable
I would strongly recommend this one-stop mentor for all aspirants targeting universities abroad for their higher studies
Personally, it certainly makes us find ways to fill in the missing piece of the "masters" puzzle

I preordered Admitted on the suggestion of a friend who used to follow Soundarya on LinkedIn. Admitted is a really excellent book for helping you through the admits season. I see many people have praised the tone / research /work that has gone into the book, so let me keep this review a bit different and give you absolute concrete reasons for buying the book-
1. The section on SoPs. SoPs are the most important section of your application. This was stressed so well in the book and the sample SoPs on the shared resources link were of such a high quality, that I realised I needed to get started on mine ASAP and work on it for a long time.
2. The section stressing on making a video if possible. I was applying to universities asking for videos and wasn't going to make a video since it was optional. The book advised me to take every opportunity to make a mark on the Admissions Committee and I did. Had a blast making the video, picked up some basic editing skills, and got an admit too!
3. The section on i20s, F1 visas and STEM extensions. I was absolutely clueless about these things. Thankfully the book has given me a rudimentary idea about them, and now I can step into uncertain waters with atleast some idea about what to expect.

These were just some of my reasons. Your reasons will be different. But what I want to stress is that the book is absolutely practical and will hold your hand through all stages. I cannot tell you how it will be beneficial to you, but am confident that it will be! That's how impressed I am with this attempt to fill a gap on knowledge about admission procedures where it was existing and being sorely noticed.

The book Admitted by Soundarya is undoubtedly a Treasure for anyone who's looking to study in the US. I cannot even begin to explain how much thought has been put into making sure that the book is perfect. It is so reader friendly! The book remains true to what it claims. It definitely is the missing guide to crafting the perfect Application.
The book looked exquisite (love at first sight is a thing :p).

The book made me realise that even after getting an admit from, say, an ivy league, life won't be a cakewalk in the US. It gives you an idea as to what to expect and what not so you know exactly what you're getting into. Understanding that not only gave me a chance to reflect on things, but also reminded me of how badly I want to achieve my goals. The writer and her team have put in so much thought into every little detail of the book.

The book also gives you access to Slack Community full of amazing & super helpful people who are studying in the US or are looking to study in the US. Any queries regarding anything and everything is addressed there. An icing on the cake is that you access to a Google drive which has sample resumes, Statement of Purpose, Loan requirements, A dream tracker to keep you in track with everything related to the admission process once you begin with it, Scholarships and a lot more.

"Admitted " basically helps you in understanding everything about studying in the United States in every possible way.I will be applying in a few years, and I am glad I have a book like Admitted to help me get through the rigorous admission process.

My Advice to anyone who's looking to study in the US would be to buy the book without a giving it a second thought.

P.S- Keep your Highlighter pen handy (pretty sure you're gonna need that a lot)😊.

Graduate school applications are challenging, especially if you are a first-generation applicant. This book called Admitted The Book, by Soundarya Balasubramani, helps make that process less intimidating.

Around the mid of July this year, I was having much trouble deciphering the hidden requirements of a successful application. I had to talk to a lot of people from my institute who had been through the process, a super time inefficient and excruciating exercise. I wished for a magic guide which would instead give me all the necessary details without doing the hard work, all by myself!

The book Admitted is the magic guide that I wished for! The author gives you just the right amount of information regarding various steps in the application process to help us craft a winning application. You can find guidance regarding how to choose a university to do your graduate study in, how to write a statement of purpose, how to prepare for interviews and more!

It is not common to find such a guide written by an Indian author. Personally, I could relate to the author in terms of upbringing and general ideologies. This played into my decision to pre-order the book. A choice that I am glad I made.

Admitted is not only helpful but also incredibly motivating!

Before The book Admitted, The Internet and social media were my only sources to extract whatever information I could about study abroad.  Most of the time this information is the point of view of a single individual hence applicable in specific circumstances only. Furthermore, these sources gave varied data which was so confusing to me.
Then, ‘Admitted’ changed my world. After reading the book, now I see the actual advantages as well as difficulties of my path chosen. I appreciate the customization brought into this book by supplying us with extra reference material on drive and by creating a slack community where I can network with people having same aspirations as mine. The best part of This book is  not only technical description of process but also it is rich with insightful personal experiences of a lot many students. For me, Having Admitted is like having a close friend who has been to the destination which I want to reach. A friend who will guide me throughout the journey.

Thank you so much Soundarya Balasubramani for The book Admitted!

Studying overseas was always my dream, but had no one to guide me to prepare for the journey as an international student. I use to collect information through google, quora, YouTube... got the mixtures of opinion and answers, I always looked ahead for a person who can guide me or share their experiences but failed to. Then I fortunately find “ THE ADMITTED” I can’t express how helpful the book is, and its contribution to my life. The book is just what you need to own to study abroad as it guides you from the questions like, “why masters?” , “ how to prepare a resume?” , “ How to write SOP and get done with LOR?” , “How to land in a job?”... and many more. Once you start reading you will fall in love with how soundarya has structured each chapter by considering every single question one get during their process and answered it so tactfully. I suggest, if you want to study abroad this book is all you need as it is a perfect map for your journey.

One Stop Shop. Ranging from, should you even study in a foreign land to the author showing her journey at the end of the book. Everything in between is pure gold. If you want to make a great resume that is ATS friendly and make it stand out, then this book is for you. If you want to learn how to make a great profile on LinkedIn and network with professionals and alumni, then this book is for you. If you are one among those countless curious aspirants, who is struggling to make sense of the superfluous information present on internet and don't know where to start and make an amazing SOP, this definitely is for you !! Well, I hope this leaves you with a taste of what is to come, if you do plan to buy this masterpiece. I assure that you will not be disappointed and will get your money worth !! I am sure you would want examples or success stories to get attracted towards this wonderful piece of art. Well, look no further than the author herself !! Additionally, I also am a successful example. The invaluable insights from Admitted helped me with my application and as a result, I already have a Masters of Engineering Management admit from Duke University for Fall 21. Interesting, right !! Well, to know more, read the book :)

Undoubtedly, this book is one of the best guides out there to help students applying for admissions in Universities. What makes it special is that the authors went through all the phases of application - from considering to study abroad, shortlisting universities, preparing resumes and SOPs, applying for financial aids, VISA process etc - the book has it all and hence makes it even more relatable and real for the readers who are undergoing the same intimidating phase.

A big congratulations to the entire team of the book for crafting such a masterpiece. This surely completes as the missing piece, that is now available for all aspirants!

For me, Admitted is not just a guide to craft a winning application and study abroad. It is something beyond that. The book substantiates many of its components with beautiful examples and stories explaining it in a greater depth.
"Admitted" consists of various chapters expatiating in detail about every single component of the application starting from choosing the right universities, proceeding with the Resume, SoP, choosing the right professors for a letter of recommendation and more with beautiful illustrations, examples with an explanation of why it should happen that way.
What I found more interesting with this book is Soundarya's effort to enumerate her personal experience while applying for her masters abroad (because it is always easy to say to do the necessary things, but the true difficulty is in doing it successfully for which Soundarya is the best example).
It doesn't end with that along with the book; everyone gets an opportunity to access the most valuable resource folder along with "Dream Tracker".

Really like the amount of thought put by Soundarya and the whole admitted team into crafting this book and so I can attest to the author's claim that this book is her brainchild. It entails 18 chapters covering essentials ranging from Should one even study abroad, choosing universities, creating your application (guidance on preparation for competitive exams, Resume, SOP & LOR), Scholarships, VISA interview preparation, maintaining Linkedin profile and even networking! Something I really liked is the psychological aspects being addressed in the SOP section of the book, after which there are five important questions that should ideally be answered in any SOP along with examples for each one of them! One should give at least 6-8 months if you haven't even decided if you want to do higher studies. Finally, I would say that Admitted is the guiding light to the mystery that the higher studies applications and admission process is!

Hello Every one,

This is Naimish Pandya.
I benefited from some of the following points from this book as I'm planning for my Ph.D. studies at the USA:
This book provides me a thorough understanding to work on my supportive documents from scratch such as CV, SoP, LoR, and so on. People might guide you on what to write and what not to, but this book gives you a thorough understanding of the critical brainstorm which is required to address what to write in your supportive documents. Additionally, How to approach the professor in a proper manner for your LoR is really professional. In last the loan section is too good, she described each and every aspect in a very lucid manner.
If you don't have any fundamental knowledge about study abroad: Don't worry this book will still help you to plan your journey from scratch to Admitted to your dream university.

I highly recommend this book "Admitted" to any future aspirants who are planning to study abroad.

I just go through this book, applied all the concepts in my entire application process, and Can't wait to receive my Dream Admit! Cheers :)

It has ALL the ingredients not just for your application process but your whole master's journey abroad. I would say its a mini version of google in the study abroad category coz it literally has covered everything little thing and the resources section even gets updated once in a while - a live book i would say. Are you even remotely thinking about studying abroad? The first thing you have gotta do is buy this book. This book even lets you know if you gotta do masters/go abroad in the first place. Soundarya and her team has done such an excellent work.

I got to know about this book in the Yocket webinar. Almost everyday there are webinars conducted by Yocket for admission procedures. So this notification too was quite same for me.
However, I decided to register myself in this particular webinar and honestly I don't regret it. In the webinar I got to know about Admitted The Book. I understood the book isn't the ordinary book and would really help me with my application procedures. So I instantly ordered it on 3rd of September, 2020.
Admitted The Book takes you through every step of the graduate school application process using the most brilliant illustrations, colorful templates and facts. The topics in the book cover the entire spectrum starting from resume crafting, SOP writing, scholarships list, visa process, loans. It’s the perfect guide for anyone who is aspiring to get admitted into the best graduate schools abroad.
It is filled with vast information- purely authentic and referenced too so that you can learn more about it. It comes along with a personal note from the author herself and you will also get to be a part of an awesome Slack group- filled with enthusiastic young graduates and prospective students.
The Resource folder also extensive and can be very helpful for preparing SOP, Resume, and also it eases the work of application tracking.😁

If you don't buy this, anything else you buy doesn't make sense. You can take my word for it. I'm one of the buyers and if you don't like it, do contact me and I'll refund you. (Kidding about the refund xD but that's how good it is)

I am an avid reader of Pooja didi's articles. They are very insightful and well researched. What is unique in her writing is that she knows the psychology of readers and the places where one gets complacent in following advices from her articles. She points them out and gives methods to overcome those and ensures that the readers take all the advantage possible out of the article.

So when her book released, it was a no brainer to buy it as it was a guide on a topic that I'm currently interested in. If a book on the same topic was written by some other author, I'd definitely give it some thought before buying it but with this one, it was instinctive. In Pooja didi's terms I'd say, my System 1 dominated and took the call :D (Thinking, Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman).

I was one of the first batches of people who pre-ordered the book. It is an all in one guide which starts with the chapter if you really should pursue an MS and even talks about how to network while/after completing your MS.
As someone who is currently applying to universities, I can say that Admitted has really helped me in every section of the application process.
