Dale longs to escape the school bullies who torment her for being different. But when a dark sorcerer learns of her existence, she must flee much more than mean girls.
'It is urgent for you to reach the Borderlands. There, you will learn everything you need to know.'
Dale is smart. Too smart for the in-crowd at school who taunt her whenever they get the chance. But sometimes her smarts get the better of her, and when she finds herself telling the new, cute boy at school her deepest secret, the bullying reaches new levels, and weird things start to happen when the creatures from her childhood imagination suddenly reappear.
Dale’s world shatters when her only friend is violently attacked by an evil sorcerer. She is set on a frantic escape and a dangerous quest; the Borderlands beckon. But what are the Borderlands? What exactly will they awake in her? And will she even make it to them? Suddenly, the school mean girls don’t seem so bad.

THE BORDERLANDS: THE COMPLETE TRILOGY is exactly what it says. An epic fantasy that starts off in modern-day Scotland, travels to another medieval world, and finds a cyber-punk Earth in 2136, before returning to a 'simpler' time.
Dale longs to run away, from her family, from her school bullies, from everything. She has befriended a homeless man, Gareth, and together, they do up a little sailboat and make plans. Things take a turn for the worse when Gareth is murdered and Dale escapes by herself, with no idea of what to do or where to go. Of course, that's only the beginning of the story...
Dale is a brilliant character, feisty and strong-willed, makes more than a couple of mistakes, does the wrong thing and admits, but ultimately wants to help. This trilogy really is a journey for her as she not only discovers what's going on but just she has to do with it too.
There is a great supporting cast that both helps and hinders her as the story progresses. The pacing is smooth, with action and adventure. There is a touch of romance, a hint of a triangle, but that's it. The focus really is on Dale and what she learns.
A fantasy that crosses genres, this was a trilogy I thoroughly enjoyed and have no hesitation in recommending.

Rcvd an advanced reader copy from Hidden Gems for giving my two cents. 3 epic books all in one. We meet Dale who hates high school as she's always bullied and dislikes her family as she's always picked on except her baby brother. She always felt like she never fit in...especially as a kid when she would see fairies. Her family is acting weirder then usual esp since they moved became of a church. Weird...but ok. Dale's only happy when she's with her homeless friend Garth and his cat on their boat. He has helped her thru tough times but when she decides to run away from her horrible home life...she sees things she shouldn't. Her only move is to get on Gareths boat and head out to his friends Nells house. The road or in this case the water ahead is tumultuous and dangerous but Dale is determined to get away. Nell tells her about thr Borderlands and that she must go there.. ok then. The Borderlands will test her to see if she's worthy and she needs to get away from Richard aka the church leader before its too late. Dale has never seen such beauty and learns the truth of who she really is and what her future holds. The lengths she will go to to seek answers and restore the balance....will Dale find her way or will it end up being her downfall. Secrets, adventure, betrayal, shocking truths makes this Trilogy a great read. Can't get into too much detail as it will spoil it.
I received this trilogy as an ARC and am so glad I did. It’s absolutely epic!!! The author grabs your attention from the very first page with interesting characters, a little humour and romance, a suspenseful storyline and tons of drama. It kept me thoroughly entertained until the very last word. I can’t recommend this series enough. I look forward to reading more from this author.
The best book/ triology I've read in a long time! I love how we get to follow Dale, the MC through her life and how she's portrayed so realistically. At first I downloaded a sample and after reading it, when I couldn't get my mind off it, I decided to apply for the ARC copy so I could read the whole thing. Did not regret it one second.
A wonderful collection of stories. Dale is tired of being bullied, but she meets up with something worse. I was totally caught up with everything that happened.
