This started out really good and for the first half I was quite enjoying it.
But then it started to fizzle out a bit.
The humor started to feel forced and I felt like these guys were just dumb (or the reader was supposed to be dumb, I'm not sure). With things I figured out from page 10, that took them almost the entire book. Obvious things like, hey, could it be drugs that kept Dellan from shifting back to human? And could it be that Dellan’s brother (the bad guy), the head of the PHARMACEUTICAL company, made this drugs???
And I kept wondering if someone was going to bring up the fact that Dellan was gay, but got female shifters thrown in his cage with which he instantly mated as a tiger. No one was really questioning why this was.
I get that this is a series and we didn’t get all the answers with this book, but these guys were supposed to be super intelligent, but they simply never questioned some things.
I’m not really a fan of books where the reader is treated as unintelligent. When every single clue is explained.

The way he let things slip about him having a very healthy sex life before he found his mates was just distasteful. This was a very enjoyable beginning of a new series. With this particular story K.C. Wells proved herself to be a wonderful storyteller. It had it all: suspense, action, a touch of mystery and intrigue as well as a trio of well developed MCs and a chosen family that will stand their ground and back you up when the danger comes calling. This was a steadily paced suspenseful PNR romance with mild but oh so hot steam, sweet tender moments and a mild cliffhanger with a certain HFN. The cliffhanger does not feel soul destroying, so do not worry. It leaves one still satisfied with how everything turns out in the end, but also shows that the next book most likely will feature the same set of MCs: Dellan, Horvan and Rael.
I really liked each man separately. All of them were honest, sweet natured with a touch of kicka$$ when needed and loyal. Together these men had such great chemistry as well as ability to have fun and absolutely wonderful cuddles. The shifter perspective was not overly new. At times when the phrase like "There is little known about shifters..." or similar popped up, it felt that author skipped a bit on world building, so I hope next story brings more clarity on shifters in general.
The suspense angle was good. The story ended on such a pivotal bit of information that set the tone for the next book. The magnitude of the scheme that allowed Dellan to be held captive is absolutely amazing. I loved the underlying tension throughout the story, the fear of capture as well as much appreciated humor that flowed in between making the heavy story light-hearted. Overall, this was a very good book, and I would love to know more about Dellan, Horvan and Rael as well as their newfound friends Hashtag, Crank, Roadkill, Brick, Doc and Vic. Ugh, I wanted to like this so bad. Fated mates, sexy shifters, and M/M/M?? Pretty much a recipe for my perfect book. However, this was just... not.
To me, this book felt like every bit of dialogue was written by a computer. It felt formulaic, and juvenile and took AGES for anything to happen, even though we'd been told exactly what was about to happen at least three times before it actually did. It felt as though there was no actual action in this story, just long, uninteresting conversations about what thrilling action might hypothetically look like.
The main characters... they weren't... bad, per se. I didn't not like them, but I also didn't fall head over heels for them, which, ideally, is something that should happen in a romance novel. I did, however, absolutely despise the side characters. Not in principle (I love me a good BFF character or characters), but in execution. These guys... They were so over the top, every single one of their bland jokes was repeated long after the horse was dead, and none of them actually had any sort of personality. Given the number of side characters that were there for the sole purpose of rote exposition, I found myself wanting to skip to the good bits, with only the main three.
The main three... These characters--Horvan, Dellan, and Rael--are the only thing I found tolerable. I liked them. Not a lot, not to die for or anything, but I liked them. They were cute enough to make me keep reading. I liked their dynamic, I liked their communication, I liked Rael and Horvan's oath to not be intimate with each other until their relationship was whole with Dellan. These three were a good building block of a fated mates, M/M/M story.
Unfortunately, it was all the other elements of the story that fell apart. Even with the twist at the end, I don't think you could convince me to come back for the sequel. I don't care enough about the characters (even the ones I liked) or the exposition-heavy plot and bland side characters to see what happens next. Part of me wishes I did--and hell, I might change my mind--but right now, this is as far as I go with these three.

It was pretty good and I liked the 3 MCs and their chemistry was pretty hot. Crank was a little over the top though.
I liked how there were so many different kinds of shifter (elephant, shark...etc) but they were not organized in any way. So many shifters didn't know anything about their history and that is a shame. The "bad guy" was too evil mastermind for me and of course he escapes so we'll hear from him again...
It dragged a little when they were planning Dellan's rescue. The whole social media protest thing took too long to setup. Plus Horvan and Rael were waiting for Dellan to start sexy times...
Horvan is right in his element, being the protector and getting to work with his team.
Rael was a real sweetheart and is the one who took the steps to rescue Dellan

WOW, that was nothing like I expected it to be!
K.C. Wells writing shifters..., and it was fantastic. A Growl, A Roar, and a Purr moves at the speed of light: action, action, action. With a hearty dose of K.C. Wells' trademark wit and humor (and of course plenty grown-up male/male/male bonding time).
I didn't realize this was a continuing story, so must read these in order. I hope we'll be getting lots more about the relationship between Horvan, Rael, and Dellan in future episodes - plus we've just scratched the surface of this amazing world Ms. Wells is building, and I can't wait to find out what's next!
There's an absolutely fantastic supporting cast here, so hopefully each of these guys will get his story told as well.

I absolutely loved it! Dellan has been stuck in tiger form for over a year and kept in a cage in his step-brothers office at the company that Dellan's stepfather left him to run. What he was made to do sickened me, but I am curious on what happens/happened to the product of those encounters. When Rael goes to interview Dellan's stepbrother, he sees Dellan and there is an instant connection & he hears "help me" in his mind. What he doesn't know, and most shifters don't, is that Dellan is his mate and how you know you are mates is you can speak to each other in your head, besides the instant connection. When Rael figures out that he needs to save Dellan he contacts Horvan to help set him free. When Rael meets Horvan, they find out that they are mates as well. It was not an easy road getting Dellan to remember he has a human side and that his mates need him. We then have the mystery on what/why he was drugged and forced into his animal form, who knows about it & the why of it. I loved all the secondary characters. I have a problem with one of them, not sure why I have a funny feeling about this person, but I do and I hope I am wrong. The story does end on a cliffhanger because those questions are left unanswered. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

This book could have been a total flop or a total hit ... as it is, it was neither one. It was a bit average.
Unfortunately I don't feel the connection between Horvan and Dellan, at least not the sexual connection.
Still I am looking forward to the next book as I want to see where this goes

This is KC Wells' first foray into the paranormal world and by gosh, I think she's got it!
Dellan is a tiger shifter trapped in his tiger form for far too long. Rael visits the office Dellan is in and Dellan reaches out to Rael via his mind. Rael, shocked that he can hear the tiger in the glass change, knows something is special about him, but not quite what. He knows he has to get Dellan out of there, and calls upon Horvan, ex-special forces and his team, to help. That connection Rael has to Dellan flares again with Horvan, and a whole new can of worms is opened. Once they get Dellan free, then they need to figure all this mates stuff out.
Since I read this in one sitting, I can say it grabbed and did NOT let up, not once!
I was thoroughly engrossed, such a great story!
It takes time for Dellan to have a say, and I wasn't sure he would, but once he is rescued, he is given a voice. It also takes time from him to come out his tiger form, which would explain why its a while before he speaks (literally, and in the book) So all three guys have a say, which made me very happy.
They all get this sucker punch MATES thing straight to the chest, and it comes as a shock to all the shifters in this story, since they have never met anyone with mates, not SOUL mates that Dellan, Rael and Horvan are. And there is a variety of shifters here, Dellan is a tiger, Rael a lion and Horvan a bear. There is also a shark, an elephant and some other big cats. (no wolves though, which tickled me no end! No idea why though!)
It's dark and deadly, with a back story that will run over into other books, this one finishes on a cliff hanger, for crying out loud! I KNEW that going in, but still, I was so engrossed and didn't see the percentage going down and then. . .booof! No more book!
It's sexy in places, but incredibly sweet in others. I loved that Horvan and Rael decided to wait to fully join til Dellan was ready, even after he regained his human form. Just being together, the three of them was enough for a time. They get their mating moment, don't worry, but I think even if they hadn't in this book, it would not have been missed. It's the anticipation that I loved, waiting for that mating moment.
Loved the guys in Horvan's team. They made me chuckle a time or three, their banter. I saw a pairing than hasn't happened yet, so I'm keeping my eye on that one. Also, there are more of the team we haven't met yet. Horvan calls for them at the end of this book, so I look forward to meeting them all, and seeing how everyone fits in and what happens.
Like I said, there is an on-going story, that we really don't have a full picture of, just some clues that I can't put together yet. Love that I can't, to be honest! Means I gotta gotta GOTTA read the next one! When that will be, I have no idea, but I WILL read it!

Oh my indeed!
When I finished this book, the first thought was when will there be more. I was completely invested in Rael, Horvan, and Dellan—especially Dellan—and I don’t just want to know more, I NEED to know more. Besides a pretty thorough introduction to their world (as much as they are aware of it themselves), the author did a great job of letting the characters sink their metaphorical claws in to my brain.
There were so many aspects of this story to like—the almost instant connection between each of the mates to each other; Horvan’s team who are all dedicated to supporting each other; the additional supporting characters (Doc, Vic, Brick) who add more to the story and also offer the promise of more to come. But the main thing is the deep connection shared between Rael, Horvan, and Dellan. Though it’s there from the moment they meet, I can honestly say it didn’t feel insta-lovey; the fact that this is a paranormal connection between destined mates pretty much took that out of the equation for me.
One of my favorite things is how aware of each other the three men are, and how they constantly have each other in mind. It consistently reinforces their bond, allowing it to grow stronger even in the short length of time they have been together by the end of this book.
I’m intrigued by the setup here for the rest of the series, and can’t wait to find out the true nature of the bad guys since we only get a glimpse here in book one. I also am hoping we’re going to get more regarding the obvious hinting about Horvan’s team, and Crank in particular (there are just so many times you can mention the gayest straight man they know before you know something’s got to be coming for him).

Thrilling!
To say that I can give a good review, I'd be lying. When started reading this book, I didn't think it would as involved as it is. It reminds me of when I started reading M/M books. The thrill, the excitement, the intrigue like a good mystery. I'm hooked.

A really great start to a new series. Also it ends with a cliffhanger, which I hope, will followed soon (like TOMORROW) with the next book! I don't know, which of the three I liked more, they are all adorable and great in their own way!

A really great start to a new series. Also it ends with a cliffhanger, which I hope, will followed soon (like TOMORROW) with the next book! I don't know, which of the three I liked more, they are all adorable and great in their own way!

I love K.C. Wells books, with "A Growl, a Roar, and a Purr" I think she has outdone herself.
It's not the usual " I am the strong alpha, you are the weaker beta/omega story. It's a thriller, very exciting, thrilling, but love is not missing out either.
Dellan, the tiger shifter who is held captive, Rael the lion shifter to whom he speaks and asks for help and Horvan the bear shifter, asked for help by Rael, who completes the trio.
Three wonderful characters, lovable, but also vulnerable.
The side characters are also wonderful, actually each one of them deserves a story.
The villains are really evil but there are also those where you don't know if they are perpetrators or victims or perpetrators and victims, absolutely brilliant.
K.C. Wells has created a world that I fell in love with immediately.
And hopefully it will not take too long until the sequel,

Lions, Tigers, & Bears...oh my. Shifters who are fated mates, a drug company ran by evil men, hints of experiments, kidnapping, murder and mayhem all combine for an interesting read.
Don’t be upset, but this book creates the foundation. As such, it ends on a cliffhanger. With the plot line, it is a necessity and leaves the reader looking forward to the next book.
As for our mates, their relationship is new and is still in the getting to know each other phase. Yes there is instant love. I hate that with books about human characters, but don’t mind it with shifters. Humans shifting into animals makes it easy to believe in love at first sight.
The guys are being helped by a great supporting cast of characters. I hope the doctor makes another appearance. His shifter form is unusual!

I was immediately drawn into the story of
Lion shifter Rael and Dellan the tiger shifter he discovers in captivity.
Rael connects with Bear shifter Horvan and his friends to plan a rescue for Dellan.
I was kept invested in the story, plenty of action, adventure and emotion. Questions about Dellan's captivity, how he got there, who put him there, how they kept him there any why??
I really enjoyed everything about this book.
The connection these men have to each other as mates is strong and powerful.
I highly recommend this story. It ends in a sort of cliff hanger, which I normally don't like but I was happy with the ending and I am definitely looking forward to more.

I have read almost everything KC Wells has written and while she has written some lovely book, this perhaps is the best novel she has ever written! The 3 main characters were just beautiful and they just shined when all three were on page together! The chemistry was fantastic! I loved the plot and it was well thought out and well written. Really enjoyed the side characters and they added levity that was perfect. Cannot wait to get my hands in the next book in the series!

Interesting plot and shifter world with its own face got me hooked from the beginning till the end. I liked all 3 MCs that are very different but work really well together. As with all fated mates the connection is instant but they continue getting to know each other through the book and the relationships development is there with potential for more. Secondary characters are fun and I enjoyed their banter and teasing. Though I would prefer less references to Horvan's past sex experience. The ending is HFN with a cliffhanger. Looking forward to the next book

This was a pleasant surprise. Till loaded with all the stereotypical “fates mates” stuff. But it had depth and excitement and most of all a decent plot.

I loved the lions and tigers and bears reference in the series title and if that vein of humor gets you, you will definitely enjoy this book and the further Easter eggs in it. The lightness is well balanced by the darker aspects of the story. Our trio finds each other in a most interesting way and discover they are going to have to fight and defeat and plot against shifters. I have seldom read about a shifter stuck in his non-human form for a great length of time, so this was an interesting plot device for me. The story is not resolved in this first book so be aware of that. It should not deter you from starting what promises to be a great series, however.

I really enjoyed this book. The plot continues throughout the other books. I can’t believe how this one ended - I can’t wait to read the next book to see how things plan out.

It starts with an interview with a buisness mogul at the top of one of the tallest skyscrapers I have ever been in, there I find my mate in a plexiglass cage in the his office. Determind to set him free I embark on a journey to find the right guys to help me get him out and find I have not one but two mates, and boy is this is going to make life very interesting, now to just figure out how to make the three of us into a family all of our own.

Dellan is trapped as a tiger and forgetting himself when Rael walks into the office and sees him. That' when Rael discovers that the tiger is a shifter and his mate. So he decides to get some help, which is where Horvan comes in. And guess what, he's Rael's mate too.
I really liked all of Horvan's team and how accepting they were of everything that was happening. I really hope we see more of them.

This was way to long, I got bored through most of it. It took half the book for them to rescue Dellan, lots of talk about nothing. Second part was more interesting, having them finally together but it took me a while to finish it bc it dragged and I didn t feel anything special for these guys. I ll check out book 2 just bc I want to see them as a forever team and book 1 took to much time to set up their world so it was lacking in romance and relationship growth.

The start wasn´t so much my thing but the book got much better after maybe 30 pages. I am not so much for insta love but I liked Rael and Horvan. Fitting Declan into it was nice too. So there were a couple of hot scenes for me to enjoy.
To make it short this is not the best book I read from this author but I did have a nice time reading the book and will read the next book of this series too.

The story plot was a good idea and I enjoyed it for the most part but it got kind of repetitive after about half way through. The whole mates thing didn't quite ring true in this story. It was too insta love. Not my favorite shifter story. Will probably read the sequel, but not that anxious to have it yet.

2.5 stars rounded up. Meh sex, especially after all of the flirting and waiting. Good sexual chemistry with Horvan and Rael, but not so much with Dellan. Good emotional relationship development with all three. Everyone was naive and nonchalant about the bad guys. The jokes from the side characters became tiresome. HFN plus cliffy ending. Lots of plot holes. Weird shifter world.

A Growl, a Roar and a Purr is a fantastic story. I’m not one for MMM books but this one got me. It kept my interest from the beginning to end. I’m’ not one for cliffhangers either but I definitely will be reading the next book in the series. Great Job.

For me this story was disappointing. Such a great author and so many great books I was expecting a lot more relationship development. Mostly the story was scene setting and developing plot lines for the obvious next book.
