Finding out you’re a Shapeshifter is quite an unusual thing. How does this fit in with Ariana’s life. I was completely engrossed with the characters and the plot.

The reader is gently drawn into what appears to be an average English town, typical in every way and richly described: but something is not quite right. The heroine is feisty, a martial arts expert, but there is much more to her than one would expect. At first it is the unsettling dreams, and - is she being stalked? As the pace of the narrative speeds up, another world is revealed where nothing is entirely what it seems and the heroine is shown to have hidden, even magical, depths.

Not usually my particular genre, but I was drawn into H. B. Lyne's world of shapeshifters and their struggle with darker powers - fast-paced, expertly crafted and absorbing.

I struggled with the longwindedness of the story, though it's quite imaginative. The author also has a curious grammatical issue where she writes a sentence and then begins the next sentence after a comma rather than a full stop. It's annoying and terribly frequent.
I wasn't able to finish it.

"It was all too real and she finally acknowledged to herself that she was deeply afraid of what she was turning into."

I ripped through this book in two days. We first meet our protagonist in her normal human life, following her through her journey into a shapeshifter. The story is literally one event after another. Meeting new  characters and many exciting developements as she tries to negotiate her changing life in the fictional city of Caerton.

I love the fact this urban fantasy is by a British author as so many are based in the USA, that makes it a breath of fresh air.

Despite all the action packed pages there is still so much unexplained and so many mysteries yet to be solved. I really can't wait to delve into the next book.

Disclaimer, I recieved a copy from the author in return for a (truthful) review.

This is a YA story and the MC is a strong character who is now coming to grips with the fact that she is more than what she thought. Lots of good world building and action in this one. It does leave some mystery that will have to be resolved in subsequent books.

I received this book for free and wished to leave a review.

This is a great story full of action, adventure, danger, suspense and mystery. I loved the storyline and the author did a phenomenal job building this world and its amazing characters. I like strong women characters and the author really delivered. Ariana may be the newbie, but she is a real champion fighter with the skills to back it. After experiencing her first shift and becoming part of a real family Ariana finally feels at home. Unfortunately, some good things always come to an end. This was a truly amazing read you should definitely get this book you won’t regret it. I received a free advanced copy and absolutely loved it.

Once this story gets moving it is non-stop heart pounding action packed. Ariana is a strong female lead. She's is learning new things about herself every day. Shape shifting is something she's not expecting for her life. It comes with a lot of changes. This is a twisting and turning rollercoaster of a ride. You will not be disappointed by this book. Hard to wait for the next one from this promising series. Received ARC copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.

A strong female lead in a town that has secrets of magic hidden beneath its surface leads to an action-filled book that ends before you are ready for it to end. A very good book and I can't wait for the next installment.

This is a book that you will find hard to put down. It grabs your attention even if you are a long time reader of fantasy and science fiction. It is richly detailed with a focused story line that subtly allows the reader to identify and care about the primary character. The central protagonist is a teenage orphan who lives in industrialized England who teaches a really obscure martial art. It takes a really talented author to pull that off.
Most importantly, this is a really enjoyable read—Highly recommended

No! I did not want that to end like that. It just can not be true. Okay, I need the next book. I love the fact that Ariana is so strong and getting stronger. I can’t wait to find out about her lineage. I want so bad for there to be something more between her and Rhys. I need to know more about him. Yes, I loved this story and I need more! I definitely recommend it!

Well, this is different than my run of the mill reading list. I don’t usually read books about shifters but I’m glad I read this one. It’s another one that starts slowly and then draws you in until you can’t put it down. I would certainly read book two that’s for sure. Highly recommended.

So, is funny, because, the short story collection and "From Ashes to Echoes" are much better than the main storylin as the MC in here is a boring, big Mary Sue but as this looks what it looks, it's not a big deal, the big deal is this, and the reason I think my OG review was deleted:

This is a novelization of some chronicle the author has of Werewolf the Forsaken, because everything, with a dash of Apocalypse, fit.
The lore? is Forsaken Lore, the setting? Forsaken, the cosmology? Forsaken.
The most flagrant tell is this paragraph of chatper 16:

['No, it's all right,' Stone spoke with more softness and set off walking again. 'I should explain, you weren't to know. Once I would have said yes. Once, so would he. There is still love there, but it is like that between brother and sister.' Stone stopped again and took hold of Ariana's elbow gently. 'Shifters aren't supposed to fall in love with their pack mates. It's wrong, it's like incest, or bestiality, or both. I don't know, it's just strictly forbidden by our kind. We can breed with shifters from other packs, humans and those humans with shifter blood. But not our pack mates. It's important for our survival, it's genetics. Do you understand?']

This don't make sense in no other settings that isn't Werewolf the Apocalypse or Werewolf the Forsaken, because of reasons stated on those settings: The werewolves have rules about mating other Werewolves because it creates monsters; If you quit that for the equation and, as stated in the story, the pack members came from different families with no relation whatoever and shifters can mate each other in this so...
How the fuck is genetics involved? That is only there because is there in Apocalypse and Forsaken, mostly in Forsaken in which shifters cannot mate with each other period, and that's just plain awful.

So, is the story good? depends.
Because after all the story is a mix of all the ingredients, Lore, Setting, worldbuilding, story, Characters...
When the most important part of it is taken of a asetting so good as Werewolf the Forsaken is expected to be good of course.

Because yes, this is is fanfiction, Werewolf the Forsaken/Apocalypse Fanfiction: the Witches/Furies are the Pure; the Spiral Hand are the Balehounds/Spiral Dancers; demons and fae the Chronicles of Darkness Spirit Courts function the same and are described the same; Apocalypse's Ancestor spirits are here too; Hepethia is Forsaken's Hisil and there's something akin to Apocalypse's Umbral Realms, and on and on and on....

But, is the original elements good? well, the chronicles she played looks cool enough.

Fate of the Blue Moon is urban supernatural fantasy with many exciting elements. Ariana is a martial arts teacher who discovers that discovers that she is really a shapeshifter. She is soon drawn into a pack with many other shifters with quirky personalities and bitter rivalries with other local packs.

Ariana herself is an excellent lead. She is gripping as she discovers her many abilities and her fighting prowess. She is unusually powerful, able to take many forms. For a while she keeps her abilities even from her own pack. She struggles to balance her new supernatural life with her human life. There are many thrilling action scenes, some of them highly imaginative and expansive.

What is missing here is a strong plot. It begins well enough as Ariana is stalked around her home and work by strange people and creatures. This section works beautifully, building to a thrilling climax as Arianna discovers her true identity and her new world. But once she is established in the pack, the plot stalls. There are plenty of good sequences, but little forward motion. There is no focused conflict bringing the scenes together. It does pick up significantly at the end (which I won't spoil.) But even much of the late plot comes out of nowhere. If the mid section had been building to this point, this would have amazing.

Still, this is worth reading if you like the genre. I am glad have discovered the world of Ariana and The Blue Moon, and I look forward to reading more of this series.

I received a copy of this book for an honest review.

We start the book getting introduced to our MC Ariana, who is a martial arts teacher and competitor. Over a short period of time Ariana notices that things are changing and eventually has a guy following her but never speaking to her and even flees if she decides to try talking to him. Eventually our MC transforms and enters into a different lifestyle all the while trying to understand how to keep both aspects of her old life and new one. Through the story, she gains a new family and new brothers and sisters. Once the MC is almost accepting of her new life, a twist in the plot emerges and she finds a new mission to undertake.

I struggled getting through this book. It started off rather slow and finally started to pick up interest at about the 30% mark. While it had my interest, it wasn’t a book that I had to keep reading. I finished this book as I always try to make it through even if it’s a bit rough. However, I do not plan to continue this series. I’m sure for those that loved this first book, the series will be great. I did not like the abrupt ending and it came out of left field for me. I believe that what happened was almost a forced cliffhanger.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
19 year old Ariana is a serious kick-ass lass who loves martial arts - it's her life. But as with most youngsters, when you become a teenager, your body starts to change as you become an adult. For Ariana those changes take on gi-normous proportions when she changes shape but not in the normal human way. She's a shape shifter. The kind associated with magic, beasts, demons and so begins a roller-coaster ride of huge proportions. Her best friend is captured and there's a threat of war. The story is heart-pounding, rich in detail and thoroughly enjoyable. I don't normally read young adult books, but this one had me sitting on the edge of my seat. I couldn't put it down -even had to get hubby to cook dinner I was so engrossed. I'll definitely be looking for this author's name on books and I'll definitely be getting them. Highly recommended.

Fate of the Blue Moon tells the story of Ariana, a martial arts teacher who discovers that she's a shapeshifter. Not only is she a shapeshifter, but she's a unique shapeshifter because she can take on any form.

Overall, I thought the story was really good, but it was a little slow for me. The author is quite a descriptive author and I prefer my books to be a bit punchier. I also struggled with the MC because she doesn't ask anywhere near enough questions. Why does she have to join a specific pack? Why can't she choose her own pack? What if she wanted to move packs? I felt like she was a little too trusting.

Anyway, I enjoyed book one enough to want to read book two, but I'm hoping that book two has more pace and less description.

Teenage shapeshifter story

A young adult story of a teenage shapeshifter finding her place & developing life skills.

Interesting concept of elementals & demons being neutral forces dedicated to all aspects of modern life like electricity, media, police, chaos etc as well as the more traditional water, fire, darkness & fear

This is an interesting take on a UF shifter discovering herself. Ariana, the MC, is a martial artist with some unsettling dreams and potential stalkers. the writing is, at times lyrical and richly descriptive.

I enjoyed the slow unfolding of the world Author Lyne created . This is the first of a series but the story ends concretely enough to not leave a cliffhanger behind.
