Y'all know I come hard for stuff I think is Not Okay. My first clue was Llewellyn Publishing, basically the 'we'll publish anything that makes us a buck' of the New Age field, which is almost singlehandedly responsible for a lot of New Age trash flooding the market. (Don't get me wrong--not all their books are clunkers: Mary Greer's books, which are absolutely Do Not Miss in the Tarot world, are Llewellyn. And one of my favorite beginner I Ching books, as well.
But this is a key example of Bad Llewellyn. It's recycled stuff you can scrape off blogs and about a dozen other sources. It's poorly written, by which I mean, the sentence structures are clunky and unwieldy and it repeats the same thing three or four times, like this was a draft that needed editing but got shoved directly into print. I'm sure there's some good stuff in there, but it is SO far between and SO minute that it's not worth the journey.
Come to find out Jenny Tyson is the daughter of Donald Tyson, who is another Llewellyn author. Can you say 'nepotism'? Because I can.
If you literally know nothing about the topic, this might be an interesting place to start--though I still maintain there are better copyedited and written resources out there. If you have ever tried your hand at any sort of remote viewing (which is the topic of the VAST majority of this book) then not much will be helpful to you, so, you know, get it out of the library or something if you feel the need to check it out. It's not worth spending money on to own in your library.
