About the author

Anthony Frank "Tony" Hawk (born May 12, 1968), nicknamed "The Birdman", is an American professional skateboarder, actor, and owner of skateboard company Birdhouse. Hawk is well known for completing the first documented 900 and for his licensed video game titles, published by Activision. He is widely considered to be one of the most successful and influential pioneers of modern vertical skateboarding.

In 2002, he created the "Boom Boom HuckJam", an extreme sports exhibition and tour that was launched in Las Vegas. Throughout his career, Hawk has made numerous appearances in films, other media, and his own series of video games. He has also been involved in various philanthropic activities, including his own Tony Hawk Foundation that helps to build skateparks in underprivileged areas. In 2014, Hawk was labelled as one of the "Most influential skateboarders of all-time" by FoxWeekly.

I don't know if this would have been good to read at the time or if you were hardcore into the skate scene. Anyways it's not worth reading now. At least if you're not hardcore into skating? It's no THPS!

This book is about adventure on the road as told by the author and famous skateboarder legend, Tony Hawk. His travels start on February 19, 2000 in San Diego, California, where he is invited to a grand opening of a skate park, attend his old Middle school event and then he was off to other cities and countries, such as Germany, Monaco, Las Vegas, and San Francisco. His events involved appearances to skate demos and several photo ops. This book truly had readers enter the life of Tony Hawk for the duration of eleven months.
I never would have imagined how tiring, thrilling, and crammed the life of a pro-skater was until reading this book. From tours with weird names (Sushi Tour), to award shows, and crazy stunts, like having Bam Margera jump from the window of Tony’s 6th floor hotel room, readers will anticipate Tony’s next entry. This book is filled with colorful graphics, extreme pictures that take up entire pages, and personal family photos. This book is not for extreme skateboarders but anyone who is interested in pro-skater legend, Tony Hawk, who has been seen on Jack Ass the movie and the TV show.

Today i will be reviewing the book "Tony Hawk Between Boardslides and burnout" I really liked this book, it had lots of detail and I just wanted to keep reading it. Tony explains to the readers about all his journeys and his road trips. Tony goes into great detail about all of his tours and demos. What's also good is about tony just doesn't talk about himself he also talks about the other riders and how well they ride. If you don't know who Tony Hawk is he is one of best skaters in the world. Tony was the first person in world to do a 900 air. A 900 air is two full 360's and a 180 and come back down backwoods.

This book is in the layout of a journal, it has lots of photographs and illustrations which make it easy to read keeps you interested.
It's a very good and it's very interesting i would definitely recommend it to young teenagers or children, or just pure Tony Hawk fans.

If you haven't read Tony Hawk's autobiography, Hawk: Occupation Skateboarder, you really should. His autobiography focuses more on his personal life and when he was growing up. Board slides and burnout focuses on his touring and skate demos. I never realized how taxing it is to constantly be traveling and on the go, always doing signings and interviews. At the same time there are perks of being a pro skateboarder.

this book was very resourceful and it had a lot of information about how hard it is to do your career in skateboarding.Like u have a lot of tours and lots of delays at the airport.This shows me that u really have to love skateboarding to pursue it as your career.

The main idea to this book is that he is telling us about his career like what he does as a skater.I wonder how he became a famous skater it didn't say that so far.This book makes me think how hard it is to be a pro skater.

The "journal" format provided a great look into life on the pro skating tour. You feel like you are chatting with Tony Hawk. Excellent layout and design.
