Dear Diary, I’ve fallen in love with the wolf shifter hunting me. Love, Kenna
For graduation, my mom sends me on a trip to Concordia—a European country I’ve never heard of. Apparently, my grandfather lives there...along with werewolves, vampires, and other monsters. Yes, it’s terrifying, but it turns out I’m not that much different. Exactly what I am is another question entirely. What I do know is that I’ve fallen for the leader of the wolf shifter pack. Too bad he hates me.
Corbin is a guardian of the former monsters in Concordia. When the Clave, a fringe group, threatens to break the magical bonds that keep humans safe from them, it’s up to him to stop the sinister plot. The only problem is, he needs my help. However, I’m his fated mate. If he falls in love, he loses his position. The only solution is to hunt me down or risk losing all he’s worked hard to create for his pack.
It’s not safe for Kenna, but with the discovery of her power and connection to Corbin, the world isn’t safe from her.
This is book 1 of 4 in the Sweet Paranormal Wolf & Fae Fantasy Romance Series. It’s romantic fantasy perfect for readers on Team Jacob and fans of K.M. Shea, Stephanie Meyer, and Emma Wolfe. This slow burn, fated mates, enemies to lovers romance hits the swoony spots and takes the characters beyond their borders on a quest to save the world from monsters, including themselves.
This is book one of a sweet paranormal wolf and fae fantasy romance series and the main characters are Kenna and Corbin. Kenna is almost eighteen and has just had her last day at high school, when everything in her life changes completely. Her mother and her are packing to leave her dead-beat, cheating boyfriend behind, when her mum disappears suddenly, but not before planning tickets for Kenna to travel to Concordia, a country she has never heard of. It seems some sort of violence was used against her mother and now Kenna’s instincts are telling her to do as her mother said and to ‘go, now’! She races out and at the end of her journey, finds herself in a small town, hungry and tired. Some strange types of people try to approach or attack her it seems, until one manages to knock her down. Almost straight away, another man arrives and growls at the last person, who then leaves. He tells her to go with him, as he takes her somewhere he says is safe for her.
He felt her presence and is drawn to her. She is the feared Magical Most Wanted (MMW), a mix of wolf, vampire and fae. The first and last from a father she has never known, Greyson Slade, and the vampire part from her mother, a night shift nurse. Not that she ever knew any of this, nor that any of it was real! She is something that should never have been born and the Accords between the main three factions of supernatural beings, the fae, shifters and vampires, and the magic the Accord brings, keeps the peace between the races and also stops their baser instincts held in line, so humans are safe from all. Corbin is the alpha of his pack, but also a member of the Warrior and Guardian Council, which helps keep the Accord rules ongoing and is the only thing more important than his duty to his pack. He takes her back to the pack headquarters, to stop her being taken by one of the other factions, or by the Klave, a fringe group who want the Accord to end. The magic of the Accords is weakening and he can feel it, as the witch told him about Kenna and his possible role.
He has avoided taking a mate, because as alpha he needs to mate with an alpha, but if he takes a fated or heart bond mate, he will have to fight to keep his position as alpha of the pack, as his attention will be drawn away and to his mate more and more. He had told his pack betas that he would take care of the problem of the MMW and put them down if required, but now he has met her and his inner wolf seems to be drawn to her, however much his human side wants to ignore it. But it seems Kenna has powers from all three sides of her parents and could be a huge danger to all of the factions. Corbin is drawn to her and her wolf and tells her she can stay and will be safe for now, as he uses her unwittingly as a lure for a traitor within his camp and the Klave.
Kenna was kept from knowing about her magic as she was bond as a baby and hasn’t been drawn to all of her sides before she turned eighteen. At that birthday, she should have come into her powers or shifted. She has three sides warring against each other for dominance, but being in the shifter HQ, it seems like her wolf is first to come through. But someone seems to know more about what may come about if one side of her is dominant, when faced with a situation which will draw out another! Kenna and Corbin are drawn even closer together as he trains her to defend herself and gain strength in her human form as well. There are those within the wolf pack that don’t like her and others that fear her due to her parentage, in particular her infamous father and what he did in the past, even though she knows nothing about him!
A great first read in this series, with lots of wolf pack interactions and politics, with some usual cliques showing up and one really bitchy female, who wants Corbin as a mate for herself, even after failing multiple times before to gain his attention, not being an alpha! He wants the best for his pack, but also wants Kenna. He should have hunted her down and killed her or turned her over to the Council, as if he becomes her fated mate officially, he could lose everything! He is a strong character, as you would expect from an alpha, but Kenna isn’t exactly a pushover, having to move multiple times in her short life so far, and dealing with her mother’s loser boyfriends and lots of break ups! Lots of wolf shifting and paranormal lore to read about, as Kenna gets to learn about this world and I can’t wait to read more in the series to see where Kenna and Corbin go next and if she will ever meet her father. An interesting read for any who love paranormal stories with a bit of romance thrown in and the promise of more from the fae and vampire sides of lore. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
With fantasy/romantasy, I always expect things to feel a little far-fetched because of the magic and supernatural elements, so I tend to notice inconsistencies more than I would in other genres. What I liked about this book was that it’s set in the modern world we know—there’s just hidden magic layered into it. That made the story feel more approachable, especially since the FMC enters the story knowing nothing about magic, werewolves, or vampires. Her reaction felt realistic—confused, skeptical, and fully convinced everyone around her was a little unhinged.
I appreciated learning about this world alongside her rather than being dropped into a fully separate universe with tons of rules all at once. That said, the fated mates aspect did feel a little uncomfortable for me. Even though both characters are technically 18, the MMC has been that age for a long time, and that dynamic didn’t fully work for me.
The concept of the wolf as both a part of the character and its own separate entity was interesting, but the way the MMC described his wolf’s thoughts—especially surrounding the FMC—made me uneasy at times. It’s a cool idea, just not one I loved in execution.
I listened to the audiobook, which was done with a virtual voice, so some pronunciation and phrasing sounded off, but overall I still enjoyed the story and will probably continue with the series.

In this kindle book, I got to laugh and awww 🥰 at moments with Corbin and Kenna and their mating bonds. But before I get into mating bonds, who ARE Kenna and Corbin?
Funny note: I am NOT referring to Corbin Bleu, the famous actor from High School.
Corbin (in this werewolf romance) is a loyal, Scottish Alpha wolf whose heart is as big as his muscles. 💪 😏😏
If you like that and his lovable grump personality, then go read this book.
Kenna, I think, is a relatable female lead. She loves her cherry chapstick, she confronts her cheating ex and learns how to shift with her magical powers with Corbin’s help and her mom’s help! .
She has a sweet friendship with a gal named Pepper and she befriends Corbin’s best buddies (lol get used to me using terms like betas and alphas anytime I read a werewolf book)
Just be aware that there are some triggers in this book: Cheating ex boyfriend, Some… Magic prejudices, some side character who gets in physical fights and dies not respect boundaries.
Best quotes: (a lot of them, but 😆 if I attach them, this review gets longer and longer!) luckily, I have given people access to my notes and highlights in my kindle.
Fun premise! Love that Kenna seems to have a good brain in her head, and that she seems like a tough chick. The romance is sweet too! Love the bit of enemies to lovers, forbidden thing going on. The story could’ve flowed a bit better and a bit more action, but I was still fully entertained. I’m hoping for more magic in the next books! I’m really excited to see where this story is going to go! Kenna just found out not only is she not human, but she is 3 different types of paranormal; Wolf Shifter, Vampire, and Fae. She’s one of a kind and many think she could be very dangerous, so there are those out to take her out. Alpha Wolf Shifter Corbin ends up involved in Kenna’s life and the two feel connected, but Corbin is having trouble knowing the right thing to do; he doesn’t want any danger to come to his pack. I would like to see him be a bit more alpha, but I still think he’s great. Good connection between Corbin and Kenna. Excited to see that connection grow further! Ready for the next!
Kenna has an amazing but secret history no one ever told her about! When her mother, for graduation, sends her to a European country she didn’t know existed, and where her father lives, she finds out about her new reality -- werewolves, vampires, and other monsters happen to be real. And she had a bit of several of them in her blood line!
She meets Corbin and is very attracted to him. But he is a guardian and keeps people safe. Kenna is a distraction to him. Yet he needs her help. But she turns out to be his mate and, if he claims her, he will lose his position and harm may come to his pack. What choice will he make? Can he claim his mate and still keep the enemy Klave, an opposition group, from harming the humans he protects? Will Kenna’s emerging powers be able to help keep the protective Accords Spell magical bonds in place? What kind of power would a Fae, wolf, and vampire combination have?
This was a good story that brings in the supernatural critters I love to read about! Grab your copy and see if Kenna can save the day – and win her man!
If I had a nickel for every time I read a werewolf retelling of Little Red Riding Hood and the MMC’s name is Corbin, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice.
This book was neither good nor bad, it just was. It had its strong and weak moments, but each happened so frequently they balanced each other out. The world building reminded me of K. M. Shea’s Magiford universe, it wasn’t entirely too original. Kenna was fine, like of course she’s the ultra-special, ultra-different FMC who doesn’t think she’s pretty but is, but at least she wasn’t bratty, annoying, or stupid. I was a little icked by the age gap, because Kenna starts the book by turning 18, and although Corbin looks 21 he is over a century old. And I know they’re fated mates, but in a way that makes it worse because universe why would you pair someone who has seen so much death and destruction in the Magical world with someone who’s greatest worry prior to the inciting incident was going to college?
I am always amazed by Hall’s story hooks. She has a way of grabbing a reader’s attention. This book was no exception. This story was spine-tingling fun. A little more new adult meets YA than Hall’s previous fantasy series, this book brought the smoke while keeping it cleanly out of the fire. When I realized how edge of the seat exciting this book was, I almost thought that I should wait for the rest of the series so that I could read straight through without the agonizing cliffhanger between books. In the end, I didn’t have that type of restraint. This is easily the beat fantasy story that I have read for quite some time! I received a review copy of this book and I am leaving a voluntary review.
Wolf Shifter Diaries #1: Life Fated is a captivating blend of paranormal romance, fantasy, and suspense that will enthrall fans of slow-burn, enemies-to-lovers stories. E. Hall introduces Kenna, a young woman sent to a mysterious European country where werewolves, vampires, and magical creatures are real and where she discovers her own extraordinary powers. The tension between Kenna and Corbin, the wolf shifter leader, is electric: fated mates who are forced into conflict due to duty and loyalty, creating heart-pounding stakes. This novel skillfully combines romance, action, and supernatural intrigue, making it irresistible for readers who love swoony tension, high-stakes fantasy, and the thrill of forbidden love.
I haven't read a paranormal book in a long time, but this was not exactly what I was expecting/looking for. It's a short book (195 pages) and that meant it was mostly tell, not show and it was very plot driven. I wanted to like it, but there were things I couldn't overlook.
The fated mates didn't feel believable and the writing felt casual and more informal to add to that unbelievable factor. Felt more pancer than plotter.
Lastly, the audio was off. Not sure why, but the inflection in some sentences felt misplaced.
On the positive side, I greatly appreciated this book in it's clean/sweet/nonexplicit form. We need more paranormal books like that and this was one of the main reasons I picked it up.
This book was just not 'there' enough for me. Usually, I am a sucker for all things fantasy and especially werewolf/ fated mates stories are my guilty pleasures but this story just didn't catch me. The story felt too lackluster in some parts and had way to many details in unimportant parts. Plus, the characters were just so-so which didn't get me invested in the story or their romance. And the whole 'more than one kind of being' premise kind off canceled out the fated mate thing in my eyes.
It isn't really a bad read per say, it just wasn't it for me. But if you like quick, easy, kind off young-ish feeling stories than you might like this one.
I love dual pov the most. And I was rally happy that the pov alternated equally between Kenna and Corbin. Also Corbin had his before he met Kenna, I was happy about that. The book is a little short compared to what I usually reads but I enjoy it nonetheless. I liked Corbin and Kenna but didnt connect with the secondary characters.
I wasn't fond of how fast they made up toward this end of the book, I think it was too fast for their development to reach this point but it's only my opinion.
I received this book for free as an ARC for my honest opinion. This is the first book in this fantasy and magical series that draws you in with likable characters and an intriguing story. It was easy to fall in love with the main characters, Kenna and Corbin. A little romance and mystery keep you turning the pages. Looking forward to the next book. Definitely recommend this series
This was just a bit too boring. I couldn’t identify with the characters and the story didn’t really draw me either. Plus the end is a bit of a cliff hanger to make you read the next in the series. So I powered through the book even though I wasn’t enjoying it and hoping the ending would make everything better and it just didn’t. Not reading more in this series.
Wolf, vampire, and Fae come together in one girl who is raised as a human. Kenna is basically what I would be if I were thrown into the supernatural world. (Complete with her sweet tooth and crush on Corbin!) It's a sweet story although it does have some back and forth, hot and cold moments. Still...can I visit Sugar, Spice, and Everything Nice?
Book 1 of this new series is fantastic. It's got a unique spin on wolves, in my opinion. I love the characters and their developments, both individually and together. The plot is smooth and entertaining, with an ending that leaves you needing to know what's next. This book is everything I've come to expect from E. Hall!
This is a well written Sweet Paranormal Wolf & Fae Fantasy Romance Series and a great start to this series. A fantastic slow burn, enemies to lovers, fated mates romance with great characters on a quest to save the world from monsters, including themselves. It’s entertaining and sweet and exciting and I look forward to reading the next book!
This is a paranormal series that is pretty interesting. Nothing too complex just a story about a tri magical girl learning about herself. It is clean with some kisses that are described as being intense not in detail. Its a slower moving story but it has me intrigued.
Kenna has no clue who she really is until her 18th birthday when she comes face to face with a shocking possibly dangerous surprise. Corbin knows he’s all wolf and will readily protect anyone in danger. How will their first meeting end? Well you’ll just have to pick up a copy and read it for yourself because all I can say is WOW! This book had me on the edge of my seat from the first chapter, so much so I read the whole book in one sitting! Give it a go, you won’t be disappointed.
I loved this book! I loved the romance, it's a forbidden type one which makes it more exciting. Loved the world building too. My only negative is that I would have loved Corbin to be a little more Alpha like. Other than this it is a great read. Can't wait for book two.
Thrilling, exciting and a fun read. Each chapter held a lot of thrills that I was hooked. I loved the characters, and the storyline was great. I couldn’t put this book down. Looking. Forward to the next instalment
“Love is the purest, simplest and most beautiful thing there is. It’s us people who make it difficult. Trust me on that.” ~Kenna’s mom
I devoured this book it was so good! I also adore fated mates so there’s that ☺️.
Kenna finds out near her 18th birthday she has powers and is forced by her mother to go to Concordia. Unbeknownst to her, Corbin, the Alpha of the Concordia pack, can sense her and goes looking for her. Corbin has to fight his attraction to Kenna while Kenna discovers all sorts of sordid details about her past and what she is.
Corbin and Kenna are so sweet! I also like how, while they’re fated mates, they take the time to get to know each other. They’ve discovered quite a bit, but there’s more to uncover and I can’t wait to se what happens with them and the magical world in the next book!
Thank you to the author for a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
I love this series! I can't stop reading it and the next book can't come soon enough! Kenna is a strong female character who is searching for her identity and finds it with a wolf pack in Concordia. How did she end up as Magical's Most Wanted? Read to find out!
Definitely a great start to the story. Appropriate for all teens and up but more mature than i originally thought. The mythology is interesting and the plot complicated. I look forward to seeing more
I love sweet fated mates fantast books, but I have never seen one with a fae and a wolf let alone all 3 of the major magical beings. It’s a very interesting idea and I’m looking forward to seeing where this goes!
An interesting blend of wolf shifter, fae, and vampire. She is hurled into a world beyond imagination and filled with danger. Will she ever find her father? Will she ever be safe?
great book. well written. sort of a insta love story. tri-brid ... need I say more??? she shouldn't even exist. Abomination they said... Kill her they said.... Nope. he chose to love her instead... loved it. Magical mutt!
This book wasn’t at all what I expected after reading the prequel. However, it was better. The fights between magicals, alpha status, and just cracking open a large can of worms. I’m excited to continue this series.
Overall a fun read with interesting plot and likable characters. I recommend the book to anyone interested in wolf, vampires, fae and strong female character with an interesting not overtly stereotypical brooding guy.
A main character who has no idea what she really is, a fated mate that is fighting against the attraction, and a whole slew of supernatural characters combine to create a good to read book.
5 stars!! I really liked it. I was scared it was going to be predictable, but nope! Very entertaining. A page turner. Definitely recommend this book to everyone. Can't wait to read the second one!
