Sold to the goblin king. Super hot on the page, not so much when you’re living it.

I’d been living a small little life, reading romance novels on my break and working for my uncle in a dead end job when he sends me to his ‘male revue’ club. I expect to see wall to wall hot guys, but nothing prepares me for the Puck brothers.

After a wild night out, with men who turn out to be so much more than your average strippers, I think it’s a one time, steamy encounter. Yet somehow the next day, push comes to shove and they’re calling in my Uncle’s debts.

Their price? Me.

The deal? For one year, I’m to be taken to the hall of the Goblin King, to do whatever they ask and at the end of the contract, I’m free to go.

The question is, will I still want to?
I just have to hold out against these goblin’s desires, but God hasn’t created a woman that can resist the Pucks.

Author note: This is a paranormal reverse harem romance, so multiple love interests, one girl. It is super hot and steamy so 18+ only.

This book is exactly how I would picture someone who loves these different romance tropes and basically ends up in one, but knows it.

Our FMC, Meghan, is probably one of the most relatable characters I have read in awhile. Her commentary was hilarious and perfect, it’s exactly what I would have thought in some of the scenarios. I completely relate to her love of reading and I love how she compared her “real life” experiences to ones she has read about. I highlighted so many good quotes about this.

I liked that all of the men were distinguishable, I just want to know more about them and their histories. I’m assuming this will be revealed in the next book(s) but what we were given in this one helped paint a picture of what had happened/why it was happening.

The story was told at that perfect in-between pace: quick so that a lot happened but still slow enough to savor it. It was easy to get into the story, I just felt like when I was finally REALLY getting some answers, it ended. Some parts at the end, I’m not sure if they started to get a little quick or if I just got excited to finally find out more.

Per usual, the author threw in some great steam. I will never complain about how well she writes her scenes.

Overall I really enjoyed this book. I loved being able to relate to the FMC and look forward to seeing where the next book takes us.

What crazy train did I just stumble off of? And how do I get back on?!

What did I just read? This book has completely thrown me. I thought it was going to be one thing, then I thought it was going to be something else, then it completely morphed into something different.

Starting with the very first few paragraphs, Sam Hall is sneaky. You think you're reading one thing and a few paragraphs in, you realize you were tricked! It was funny. I posted a note at that point about how clever that was.

This is like all the fairytales and lore stuck together, pulled apart and reinvented. Meghan (aka Maggie), the fmc, occasionally comments on feeling like she is spiraling "down the rabbit hole" and you'll definitely see why the trippy dippy Alice in Wonderland analogy fits.

Book one is a mind twist of an adventure and I can't wait to see what happens next. This is my favorite read by Sam Hall yet!

I'm debating about how much to say, and how much to let you discover, because honestly a large part of the fun was not knowing what was happening. I think what I will tell you is that in the first few paragraphs, when you meet the fmc and the Heroes, you might think the fmc is sweet but a bit hmmm...weak, naive, uninteresting? After you meet the Heroes you might not like them initially, they might seem like jerks, and a little ways further you might start to get hints and worry this is heading into dub con/non con territory. Stick it out just a little bit further. Nothing is as it first seems. Down is up, and up is down.☝ 👇

World building: 🌎 🌎 🌎 🌎 🌎

Relationship building: 💓 💓 💓 💓 (Note - there was no MM)
Romance: 💋 💋 💋 💋

Heat/Steam: 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 (I would label this a fast burn, as the fmc starts sleeping with the Hs pretty quickly in the story, however, with glimpses of their past lives, you see so much history that it feels like they have known each other for a long time.)

Drama: 👀 👀 👀 👀 👀

Action: 🍿 🍿

Suspense: 💣 💣 💣

Dark: 💀

Triggers: Nothing noteworthy, other than what the author shared at the very beginning, that these characters had a "previous life" of sorts (that part is still a bit unclear), and when they knew each other previously, there was some drama around some of the brothers not knowing that she was in love (and in a relationship) with all of them. Essentially, some had feelings of betrayal in their prior life. No cheating in the present relationships.

Ending: Mild cliffhanger. We're left in a place of curiosity but not anxiety.

Not my favourite Sam Hall book.

I suppose all romance is wish fulfilment in a way but this book takes it to a whole new level with its book nerd, self-insert FMC, and an uber-meta writing style that constantly talks about romance books while, y'know, being one. Those elements didn't work for me, although I realise I'm in the minority on that score.

Things I liked:
- The Pucks were dreamy in the extreme and I was completely swept up in their obsessive second chance romance.
- The mystery of what happened between them and Meghan in the past was gripping.
- It was an easy read, nothing too complicated with no triggers.

Things I disliked:
- There was a vagueness to the narrative style that made it hard for me to get grounded in the fmc's head. She sort of stumbles around, reacting to things, but never in any real or deep way. She never feels anything (aside from lust). It was all very lucid dreaming to me. That, of course, made it harder for me to feel anything for her and what she was going through. She's a pretty underdeveloped FMC, to be honest.

- In the acknowledgements at the end of the book, Hall writes: "This book was written extremely quickly in a very weird, almost not entirely lucid way. It was huge amounts of fun and kinda bonkers all at the same time, so there’s a bunch of people to thank for this one." Unfortunately, I think you can tell that this book didn't receive Hall's usual level of care. Definitely something missing.

Don't think I'll be continuing on with this series, sadly, but I will keep an eye out for any future releases from this author.

Lured begins with Meghan (our FMC who'd rather be reading her romance book, same) being asked to deliver something to a club that she and her cousins have never been allowed to visit. From there, she's sucked into a whirlwind of experiences and situations straight out of some of her books. Which was one aspect of this book I loved, Meghan is able to view what's happening through the lens of the stories she's read to uncover what's happening when she cannot be told specifics. If I was suddenly dropped into a paranormal world, I absolutely would be rehashing all the things I'd read. She also has some absolutely hilarious thoughts about what happens in books vs. what's happening in her life at the time. This is single POV and we experience the same degree of piecing parts together as Meghan.

The Puck brothers are just the kind of love interests I love myself with the level of intensity and focus they place on Meghan. There are reincarnation themes here, which is part of what Meghan has to work out and cannot be told, but these guys have been in love with her for a looooooong time. I felt like we got to know each of the brothers (there's quite a mix of personalities here). One of the brothers is more reserved and I'm hoping we see more connection with him in book 2. Another brother has a background of connection with Meghan and we get a bit of steam with him, but I'm also hoping for more emotional connection with him in book 2, because I felt like his powers made that a bit hard in this one. And ohhhhh the steam between her and the guys, whew!

I'm not usually a fan of reincarnation in books, but I enjoyed Lured and I thought the memories returning to her were incorporated well. Ms. Hall does a great job of adding potential trigger warnings to the front of each of her books and there is a trigger warning for potential feelings of cheating due to what happened in the past amongst this group (not from outside their core group, a friend asked me about that and I think it may matter to others). But she makes it clear that there is no cheating or potential for future cheating in their current lives.

The bad guys are hinted at (another part Meghan had to sort out) and briefly introduced, but they're powerful and definitely evil. Based on the ending, which is not end on a cliffhanger, just unresolved plot points, we'll be getting more of what's happening there and how to address it in book 2. If you like FMCs who get dropped unexpectedly into the midst of the paranormal world and are obsessed over by their guys, I think Lured is one to check out.

Honestly – I don’t know how I could give this anything but 5 stars.

Yes yes I know I sound like a groupie.

That’s probably cos I am a groupie.

Thing is – I am a groupie for a reason. Sam Hall has written another amazing masterpiece that I just cannot get over.

I have never watched the movie the book is based off of (very loosely in the end) so I entered the world of the goblin king with a completely blank slate.

Meghan is this amazingly strong female character that is bookish and fearsome all in the same breath. She gets swept up in this crazy world of the Pucks and takes on very big life changes without too much of a fuss. I honestly wish I had her moxy (yes I sound 80 – if you don’t like it move right along folks…)

And I wouldn’t mind getting my hands on the Pucks either.

Normally I always have a favourite and a least favourite when it comes to my RH books. There is always one that stands out above the rest and one that I really don’t like. This time I do have my favourite – but there seriously isn’t one that I don’t like this time around. All 5 of the men are insanely handsome, they already love our FMC and are doing their damndest to get her to come around to their way of thinking.

As always – I have to leave you with a few tidbits to leave you gagging for more…

Falling in love, it was a bit like jumping off a cliff I decided. When you make that commitment, tie your heart to another’s, you make yourself exquisitely vulnerable.

In this Sam Hall encompasses something so incredibly intimate to us in such a beautiful sentence that I was practically breathless.

OK, I was officially f**k**g mush. Hot dudes with intense eyes were my kryptonite. Hot GROWLY, possessive dudes making declarations? My knickers were so damn saturated Emergency Services were about to send out search and rescue boats.

I always love a good vag gag. This was one of my favourites.

My cervix fought the urge to disconnect from my body and run around the room yiking at the look of that one eyed trouser snake

Need I say more?

If you aren’t already absolutely gagging for the book – then I think you need to check your pulse…

FINISHED- Temporary rating: 2.5

The plot is magical, the characters are hot and funny, the imagery is trying to be beautiful, but I was utterly confused for the entire book. I might be a little burnt out from my recent book binge. But I just couldn't get into the story, and I think that was mainly because of the confusion. I had a strong idea of what was going on, but I felt lost. Like I had been given the bare minimum and I had to fill in the gaps myself. it was kind of all over the place. I had to go back (multiple times) to find out where they were, and who was speaking. I almost had to force myself to finish this book. I really wanted to get into it and like it.

Something else to note really quick, is the language in this book. I LOVE to learn new words, especially if they enhance a story. But I felt like this book went overboard with this. Luckily I have kindle, or else I would have had to pop my phone out every paragraph to google a new word. A little goes a long way.

I am definitely coming back to reread this and try the sequel. But for now, I am going to try and get a break from smutty romance books, because they seem to be rotting my head lol. I say give this book a chance. It is not too long, and if your like me you will get confused pretty early in the book.

SPOILER AHEAD

P.S.- I felt like what she did in her past might constitute as cheating, and I am not really cool with that. I understand loving more than one person, and I definitely approve of trying to build a relationship with all of your loves. But they ALL need to know. It hurt me to hear about her past, and how they were all in love with her, but she had to choose one (the king). Even if they secretly knew about it, and were relatively okay with it, it is still cheating. Because she did not tell all of them. I am not a relationship guru. But from my personal experiences in love, whether familial or romantic, miscommunication (even accidental) will break the strongest relationships. I have to admit though, I am still confused about parts of her past, and not all of it stuck with me. Did they know that she loved them all? Were they thinking that she was only theirs? If they knew, I hope that she told them and that they didn't have to find out the hard way.

I am glad that they seem to be okay with her being in a relationship with all of them. But I need to learn more of the past to really understand and/or forgive her. I am not going to hold it against her, for now. But if it comes out that she cheated, I am not okay with that. I am the type of person who will go for it all, and possibly come back with nothing. Meaning, I am willing to try my hardest to make a poly relationship work. But if we can't find a balance of love an acceptance, then I leave them all (no matter how much I love one or all of them). I don't do favorites or shit like that. I would never forgive myself.

Who doesn't love stories about Fae? I never quite know where these types of stories will go because and I can’t say I was disappointed on this one.

I only have one con for this book and it’s that it was slightly confusing. Now this is completely a personal preference and it’s not that I’m not always the biggest fan of visiting visions of past lives lol. For me I personally just tend to get confused and end up rereading passages multiple times to try and keep everything straight. Even with this issues I did still end up liking the book a ton and was able to finish it despite the slight struggle on my part. My favorite thing about this book is the male MCs. They are each so unique from each other and it’s interesting/fun trying to solve the puzzle that the author made in the story.

If you love Fae and everything about past lives I recommend this read and trying to solve the puzzle on top of everything is just icing on the cake.

I love the creativity and originality in Sam’s books, and Lured may be the most unique one yet. Lured was very well written with beautiful, descriptive imagery and and intriguing storyline. Throughout the book, we never truly get the entire picture which gives us an element of mystery that just adds to the overall experience. Add in Sam’s signature steam and this is a must read for any paranormal romance fan. Can’t wait for the next book!

mixed feelings

I love the idea of having a relatable FMC. Meghan loving books is great! However, there is a line between relatable and fun and too much. There were a few times where I felt it was too much.

Also, even at the end, when things are revealed… it’s still confusing. Like so get it, but I have so many questions on how and how long and how much the guys knew and so much more.

I’m going to read the next book and hope the reading references and 4th wall breaking calm down a lot. There’s only so many times I can read about the fantasy the FMC read and how similar it was to her “real life”

Myriad of surprises

Okay so Lured is a fantasy RH, first in the series and written in Meghans point of view.

Meghan is a bit lost… there is something intrinsically missing from her life and it’s not until she meets the pucks that things start to fill in the gaps.

I was quite confused with where the book was heading up until about 70% of the book. Sort of has bits and pieces from many classics such as Alice in Wonderland and King Arthur which has made this book intriguing that I really would like to see where things lead in the next book.

I will say hindsight is 20/20 because it seem to me Stockholm syndrome kinda kicked in real fast with the way Meghan was taking things in stride. Yes the Pucks sound hot AF but despite her thinking they were using her for sex labour she was quite quick to jump in bed with them anyway.

This book isn’t like all of Sam’s others, I felt like there was something missing. A good read but I can’t quite put my finger on it.

It's OK. Basic story line that you get from the start.

She doesn't want to want them, she sees the similarities between her "novels" and this happening. It's kinda basic, but acceptable if you wanna speed read.

Just when I think Sam Hall's writing couldn't get any better, when I thought she couldn't write a better book then she goes and writes Lured, the first book in the Promised to the Pucks series and it was everything! It's like this book was written just for me and I cannot properly express my undying love for this book. I grew up watching the movie the Labyrinth and have searched for goblin stories every since Sam has made my childhood heart happy and my adult fantasies realized too.

Once upon a time the Devlin's made a deal with the Goblin King to become rich and powerful, well the time has come to pay the tithe in the form of a Devlin descendant, a female. The goblin king will get what he is owed. She will enter a world of decadence and power, of sex, love, and magic. If she can keep her mortal heart she will be free, if not she might just be Lured away.

The main female character is Meghan Marie Devlin and she is unlike most book characters that I've come across. Meghan is a book nerd (who is just like me, in this aspect she really gets me) who doesn't have life figured out, she works in the family business because she's a little lost at the moment, and because of that she sort of let herself be talked over. She is actually a very normal person who I felt instantly connected to because she was most like me. I rooted for her the entire time she was going through everything and I have a feeling that she's gonna grow into something more as the series goes forward.

Lured is a paranormal reverse harem and Meghan has a really good harem of hot, loyal, devoted, and patience guys who all happen to be brothers. They have the same father (who is a piece of work, apparently) but different mothers which means that each guy has their own unique supernatural abilities and with different personalities, all bring something unique to their relationship with Meghan. Eamon is the leader, Niall is loyal, Killan is protective, Devlyn is the thinker, and Mickey holds it all together. The guys are all fantastic (except for one he is still a mystery that is slightly untrustworthy) and they aren't afraid of expressing their passion for Meghan. Something about each and every single one of them drew me in and has me wanting more.

As for the storyline it was freaking fantastic! So there are elements that you have with a typical goblin king story then add in Shakespeare, pop culture, and the books. There's a curse and the way they get around one rule of the curse is by referencing or repeating stories, books. Sam mentions some really fantastic classics along with a few modern books that are currently popular, I love all the references to things I know how they became an intricate part of the story. Then add in all the modern-day things mixed in with the fascinating magic and weird beings and the story just screams mystical. Sam also was very unique in writing this one, at times the past and the present overlapping each other in such a way it adds a special something to the story, giving dual moments in time where the past and present collide. The final thing I want to mention is that a couple of familiar and key characters were mentioned, and I am dying to know what is going on with these two they seem to have that dark all-powerful but crazy thing going on and I wonder just how much more trouble they are going to cause.

Lured was epically fantastic, my favorite books by Sam Hall. This book was so unexpected but so welcomed, it makes my heart happy. The story sucked me in and held my rapt attention. The magic, the mystery, the curse, and the steam all made for a fantastic read. I know I just finished but I'm already ready for more. I don't know how many books are gonna be in the series but I'm just happy that I get at least one more adventure with these characters

“You, Meghan, you belong to us.”

We’re looking at the latest release from Sam Hall, Lured, the first in her new series, Taken by the Goblin King. This is a reverse harem story.

As you may have guessed, Sam gives us a spin on the classic Labyrinth story, and I am here. for. it. Complete transparency here, Lured was the first ebook I have ever preordered, I was that excited about it. She does not disappoint! Now, she also spun some Arthurian and Shakespearan elements into the story, and thinking about it, it sounds like it could be a chaotic mess, but everything really does flow well and give a great, complex storyline.

We start off the story meeting Meghan. She works for the family business, although she never really knew what it was about. She was given some vague details about what her family does, but she was not allowed anywhere near the actual clubs. Then one day, she’s sent to one of the clubs. To the Pucks. Little did she know that that one little direction would alter her life as she knew it.

The Pucks aren’t as they seem. Meghan is drawn to them, has this innate feeling that they are different, that they are more. As the book progresses, she learns bits and pieces, from them, from her past, from what can’t be said. Eamon Puck is the “Goblin King” and the rest are his brothers - Niall, Killian, Dylan, and Mickey. They each have a gift, a talent, and are desperate to have her learn, to have her stand by them where she was destined to be, but they can’t speak of it. Meghan has to come to this understanding herself.

I really enjoyed the many aspects of this book. Meghan is one of the most relatable heroines I have read in awhile. She loves a good romance, lives for when she can crack open the next book, or open up her Kindle reader. She can spot a romance trope immediately. Sam Hall writes about all things romance in this book, through Meghan and her experiences, her dreams. This comes in handy a few times when she’s trying to understand what’s going on, and can use books to help articulate things. To her, books always hold the answers.

One more note about this book, without revealing too much more. There are elements of dub-con/non-con and cheating in the story. Meghan is never forced to do anything sexual, but she is made to share her bed with one Puck brother each night. Anything else is up to her and her alone. She also remembers things from her past life where she was not faithful to her husband. That does not play a factor in the present time.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5
Steam Rating: 🔥🔥🔥🔥 4/5
Warnings: dub-con/non-con, cheating

HOLY WOW

This book was really amazing. The concept was based on the movie Labyrinth, and while it definitely took some unexpected liberties with the source material the results were spectacular. The Goblin King - or him and his brothers rather - are dark and dangerous fae. They're harkening back to Grimm's fairy tales and Celtic mythology where the Fair Folk are absolutely not to be trusted and should be feared and avoided. I adore how they're written and really love that the Pucks are as dangerous and mysterious as they are. These are not sweet, noble fae but ones that have been brought up in brutal times that made them ruthless and guarded, but not cruel.

One of my favorite things about this book is how incredibly self aware it is. The FMC reads romance novels and compares her experiences to what would be normal in a romance novel. She pays attention to how there's obviously much more going on here than she knows, and is trying to figure out what's really happening rather than just what it looks like from the outside. She's clever and observant but there's a lot of story for her to process and the clues she gets are hard won.

I really enjoyed how the book was written. I noticed the contrast of the first few chapters where Meghan is living an ordinary life before going down the rabbit hole, and the worrying style changed with it. I loved that subtle touch that signaled a huge change for the FMC - from normal ordinary world to lyrical dreaming. The steamy scenes were fantastically sexy and left me wanting more. The plot was cleverly written and had some really unexpected twists and turns that really added to the story. I loved how Arthurian legends and Celtic mythology were worked in because it made it all seem so much more REAL.

All in all this was a truly fantastic book and I'm desperately looking forward to book 2. I can't wait!

I received an ARC of this book in return for a review.

It’s a mess

This book jumps around so much, and uses sooooo much Australian slang that it’s extremely hard to follow what’s happening. The author does a bad job at identifying who is speaking up front so you may read a whole paragraph of confusing dialogue before the next paragraph insinuates who was talking.

The heroes are a mixed bag, some ok, most just plain mysteries because the author doesn’t spend any time showing you why the heroine should like them at all.

The heroine is ok. She’s not overly strong or snarky and comes across as mostly believable until she starts sleeping with her kidnappers for no good reason—but it’s a romance so the reader can cut her some slack. However, while I thought I’d like reading a book about a heroine who loved romance stories, the author took it WAY too far. Heed the warnings of other reviewer, the author jumping between book references is clunky, extremely excessive, and used as a way to help unravel the mystery, but because of the over reach the aunt Joe made in what books her readers have read in the past, the clues are confusing and get in the way of the actual story.

I didn’t like the book, I did t like the characters, and I didn’t like the authors writing style at all. I picked up this book because a book group on Facebook said it was like the movie Labyrinth and I was so looking forward to that kind of story. This is NOT like the movie at all except for a blatant rip-office the Goblin King character in looks alone for one of the heroes.

I will say, clearly other readers liked this book. Though I don’t know why, I can say this, the first few paragraphs, with the excessive vocabulary unnecessary in a romance novel, will give you a good idea of the authors writing style.

Going into this on a book hangover was a bad idea. But I pushed through and I enjoyed it by the end.
.
The beginning was a bit hard for me to get into, but that could have been because of my book hangover. By half way I was starting to get into it and throughout the beginning I couldn’t help but feel like it was lone wolf and away with the faeries mashed together, i could be wrong and I likely am, but those were the feelings I was getting while I was reading.
.
I love the adventures Sam takes us on and this was no exception. The world she creates is so vivid and broadens the imagination. It’s always new, captivating and exciting to explore. I love that the adventure and plot was the main focus in this book. That’s not to say the steam was any less because they had the pages sizzling. After each chapter I found myself falling deeper down the rabbit hole and I didn’t want to come out by the end.
.
I love the characters. They each bring something specific and uniquely them to the story. Meghan, in my opinion is the most relatable character I have read in a long while and I think a lot of readers will be able to connect to her on a deep level. Her love for books calls to us all and with that can easily have us enthralled and engaged in the story and forget reality even just for a moment. Their dynamic was a bit chaotic at first in my opinion but as the story went on you could see the pieces fall into place gradually and easily which made for an enjoyable read.
.
I’m looking forward to seeing how Sam continues on this adventure as this is one of her best yet.

What if Guinevere could have had Arthur AND Lancelot without repercussion? What if you took a trip to Wonderland with the Cheshire Cat only to be confronted with by the Goblin King, ready to make all your darkest desires come true? What if you found yourself walking amongst Oberon and Titania in a faerie kingdom only to have the lines of illusions and reality manipulated?

This book was an epic read. Meaghan, the FMC, is sent to carry out an errand for her uncle only to find herself trapped in a centuries old contract between her family and the Puck brothers. As resistant as she is to giving herself over, she realizes that she may be destined for something bigger and it is an opportunity to live out her deepest fantasy. Ultimately, the brothers desire and devotion for her win Meghan over, and she bonds with them quickly of her own free will. We get to know her and the Puck brothers, as well as the devious foe they are fighting for their lives against, through past-life flashbacks, some of which will break your heart and others that will have you shaking at the deception and injustice that ruined lives and forced people to play parts they didn’t want to play. The book ends on a cliffhanger, with an agreement to not repeat their past mistakes and to rid themselves of their enemy once and for all.

Sam Hall creates a magical world with unforgettable characters. Her writing is phenomenal, as per the usual. This is a fast burn “why choose” with steamy scenes. It was a great read and I’m anxiously awaiting the second book.

Overall just one word: awesome! Meghan is our FMC and the most relatable character. There are hundreds of characters I love because I wish to be like they are but it's really rare that you find a FMC who totally IS just like you are. Meghan is a book nerd, plain and simple. She loves to leave her reality and dive into books. Her imagination is her greatest asset - but her life is kind of stuck. She doesn't really know in which direction she wants her life to go. There is no big plan and picture she is following, she is drifting from one idea to the next. She feels a little bit lost and alone.

Now let's talk about the Pucks: I kind of liked that they are all crazy for Meghan from the beginning. Not in an over the top way - mostly :). It just was a nice change. I liked the variety: you get a little crazy, dominance, caring and considerate, cocky and arrogant etc. Iam a HUGE sucker for our crazy one by the way ;-) I'm digging the whole Joker vibe.

Furthermore it seems to be Meghan who wronged the guys...in the past (read the book to get it!). I have to confess: I was wary to the end because I kind of thought Sam would reveal a big deceit. And although there are lots of shams from Meghan's family - the guys don't seem to have ill intentions. The book gives you the vibe that the guys and Meghan have to fight for a life together BUT they are on the same page in knowing that they all want a life together.

I enjoyed the book PERIOD.

I’ve said this before about Sam Hall…her writing is lyrical prose…sucking you in with every word and making you see, hear, taste, smell and feel every scene as if you stepped through the covers of her book and into the worlds she has created. Lured is no different. In fact, Lured does just what the title implies. You are lured into a Fae world so rich in its descriptions and heavy with emotion that you stop feeling where the story begins and you end.

Meghan Devlin, seemingly ordinary and paranormal romance obsessed, gets tossed into her own little magical adventure. Traded by her family to fulfill a debt, Meghan finds herself in the clutches of the sinister, sexy Puck brothers. At first, it’s like her fantasy come to life. Five beautiful men, a world crafted out of the naughtiest versions of Wonderland she can conjure, and a lust that blankets everything in a sensual haze.

Lured is a sultry concoction of Labyrinth and Alice in Wonderland, sprinkled with the playfulness of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and mixed with every filthy romance novel you’ve ever read. Enchanted by drinks that seem brewed of memories and magic, the Puck brothers will welcome you into Eden. Enter at your own risk…and of your own free will. Beyond the looking glass is a dream from which you will not want to awaken. And just in case you were wondering, I absolutely loved this book!

I LOVED THIS BOOK. I almost forgot to eat on my lunch break at work because I was just SO desperate to read more of it. I finished it in 2 days, which is saying something, considering I spent both of those days doing long shifts.

I loved the unexpected feistiness and self-awareness of our h Meghan, I loved most of the brothers (sorry Eamonn, maybe next book I'll grow to like you more), I loved the world-building and the beautiful descriptions, I loved the HUMOUR omg I was cackling like an idiot through a lot of this, but especially when Meghan referred to her lady parts as 'The Notorious V.A.G', that will stay in my brain forever.

The only reason this isn't a 5 star for me is the ending - it felt like we were building up to this big fight with Killian (my fave 😍) and the Minotaur thing, but then suddenly we were on a downhill rush to the end. And then it ... ended. Rather suddenly. So, I'm kinda sad there wasn't more closure, but the second one comes out soon so I'm happy to wait and spend time with Dylan and Mickey. I've always had a crush on Puck, and I'm glad now I have like 5-6 of them to read about and drool over 🤪

Book 1 This is an amazing new fae series!

Omg... I have already read this twice.
This is an amazing RH storyline with the wonderful twist of crossed/blended timelines that only the fae can do with the magic of their extended/immortal lives.
I love how the FMC is an erotic romance bookworm, so different from most FMC in RH. She is strong-minded and well-read allowing for them to find their way through the choking landmines of a geas that challenges communications. I love the author's skill in pulling hints from this mythos and that mythos to speak between the lines.
I love that this generation of the RH and the FMC are all about the RH. There is no hemming and hawing over should I or shouldn't I acknowledge the desires for all involved.
The smut portions are enough to keep most panting for more without overwhelming the book and losing sight of the plot.
The cliffhanger was a gentle one. Enough to make you want the next book without making you want to yell at the author for leaving you hanging hard.
I am anxiously waiting for the next book.

A very clever and witty romance loosely based on Labyrinth. Meghan is a romance reader and aspiring bookstagrammer who finds herself in a mystical world and enthralled by some very fine Pucks. There are so many literary references throughout this books from all different genres - it's like a bookdragon's dream. The story is told in present tense and through flashbacks to past lives. As we learn more about Meghan's history with these dreamy men, we find that there is much more to this family dynamic. I *think* they are mostly half brothers (seems Dad was a ho). The men are distinct, but I did mix up Killian and Niall early on. That didn't happen again as we learned more about each man (Eamon, Mickey, and Dylan were all unique). I really like the mixing of legends, myths, and tales in this story and it's very apparent that Sam loves stories of all kinds. Arthurian legends? Tragic love tales? David Bowie in tights? This was a lot of fun and I'm excited for the next installment.

DNF - quit at 18%
This was hard to read on a bunch of different levels -for me. The language barrier (Australian slang) was definitely a huge negative for me, as a lot of the wording I had no clue what it meant. The story jumps in right away with no real background, so I felt totally lost, like I missed a prequel or that this is a spin off from another series or something. All the “Alice in Wonderland” references were also a turn off for me, as I’ve never liked that fairytale. I also didn’t like the 5 Puck brothers, I didn’t see any attraction other than they were supposed to be good looking, which in my mind is not enough to make a relationship. All of that combined was enough to pull me out of the story. Others may appreciate this, it just wasn’t good for me.

At my age (approaching 60), life is way to short & my time is to important to force myself to read a book I'm not enjoying, especially when there are so many other books out there waiting to be read.

Love the start Meghan is reading and then she goes to the club, from then it’s like she has stepped into a different world and meets the Puck brothers who are honestly hot AF. Love how this part is written, the detail and the pace of the storyline line has you in complete suspense and on the edge of your chair - leaving you wondering is what she is seeing real? is it the drinks? Oh so good! It seems like a fairytale or fable of old.
Love the reference and description of the grey sweat pants - just wow! The steam throughout this book is completely off the charts.
As an avid reader this book calls out to me, the references to novels and stories, the old and the new.
Overall a fantastic book that I couldn’t put down until the very last word. Loved the ending, it leaves it open to so many different avenues to take book 2 in - can’t wait to see what happens next.

Idk where to start! This book at so much going on and so much goodness I don't want to spoil it for those but want people to know it's a definite must read! The book is in the FMC POV.
The FMC finds herself as payment when Uncle fails to pay what's owed to the Puck family. This leads to her finding her past and her present life are intertwined. A childhood imaginary friend who's not so imaginary.
You have faes, seer, sorcerer, a king, A half human champion, wolf shifter, and so much more. Also a mysterious sixth brother twin to a sorcerer. A fantasy world family she knew nothing about. What else could you need? How about an evil mastermind father of the MC's we have yet to meet and I have a feeling are going to dread when we do incoming books. Oh yeah must not forget the steamy intimate scenes I've come to know and love from Sam!

I received an ARC copy of this book directly from the author for an honest review.

I got to say that beginning properly got me! I wasn’t sure I was reading the right book. Loved it so clever. You properly get suckered into this feeling of what it would be like if you got pulled inside the pages of the books as the MFC herself is such a book nerd. The Puck brothers are all deliciously different in their own ways fyi I licked Mickey he is mine…. 😂 The plot of this has such twists in it that you don’t know exactly which way is up sometimes and honestly you just don’t want to put the book down. I honestly can say anyone getting this wouldn’t regret it and I for one can’t wait for the next book!

Ok, where to start. The first few pages of the book I was like what am I reading but then it becomes clear. I've only read a few PNR series, including Sam's Reach for the Moon series.
Loved Meghan the main female character. She's not an overly strong female. She's strong minded and highly intellectual.
The men in her harem are quickly described, where many readers will choose a favourite but this is not the case for me, not yet... Maybe never 🤷 The males are each linked to Meghan in their own way, which may or may not cause issues.
I've loved how this has been written, I've loved the links to historical stories/books. The ending is the usual endings I read for first books in a series and that was a pleasant surprise.
I can't wait to read the next book.
