When I first began this book I honestly thought 💭 self?! We don’t need this book. It seemed to be adding nothing to the series. Boy was I wrong!!! 🗣️ THE DRAMA!!!!! Baby it was thicker than my thighs 😩😩!!

Book 2 picked up 5ish years later and we have both couples adjusting to married/family life. Everyone is happy and healthy and THRIVING!!! But y’all know the saying about things being too good to be true…. Yup they were. A new sherif entered the chat and sis was a menace to society! What started out as a 3rd African American woman VP climbing the ranks at the same firm as Ava and Myah quickly turned into a hatin aśś heaux that allowed jealousy to turn everyone’s lives upside down. Whew 😰this was a good book 2 and I really enjoyed it!

I will say that even though Cassandra got what she deserved it still seemed like sis won in the end and for that reason I’m side eyeing you Mel Dau! I’m glad Ava and Myah turned lemons into lemonade as the true bosses they were this entire series! You will not be disappointed digging your claws into this read! Add it to ya list tuhday!

Catching Up…

I love catching up with 2 couples from the previous story and being introduced to new characters….I just knew Christopher was going to be introduced to Zari and that’s who he would end up with….But, I was wrong. Cute story

Love won through it all!

After reading "Untainted Love" it was good to catch up with the crew. Isaac is still going to the ends of the earth for Ava. Myah is always ready in the blink of an eye to go to war for Ava. She doesn't mind knocking someone's head between the washer and dryer for her cousin. Now the foolishness that Cassandra and Kelsey started about exposing Ava's status could have ended in a much more permanent solution. One thing is for sure if messy people do not have anything else they have the audacity to meddle in someone's else business. I was glad when Ava went ape wild on Cassandra she deserved it all. Cassandra was a money-hungry woman looking for her next "come-up." She must have found some motherly characteristics when she moved back to California to let Jamal impregnate her. Her knowing the man was worth millions was her motivation. My heart was broken for the kids once they found out about their mother having HIV. Joyiah became very protective while Mills became angry. He was angry with Ava's ex-husband Andre for giving it to her. It was a relief and a heavy sigh when they all were finally able to move past it. Now I was hoping for Ava and Isaac to have another child. I guess in a sense they did gain one more with Catherine being added into the mix. Also with Chris and Sidda becoming an item, he deserved a woman who loved him for him. And a woman who wanted to be a mother and have a real family. Love won for all the couples. Ava and Myah got to continue living their career dreams on their own terms. Everyone got the happily ever after they needed.

Ms. Mel Dau my hat still goes off to you for writing this story and creating two books from it. You are giving hope to so many people who want to live in their truth and be loved out loud. As I said before job well done.

Love Continues

Well that was...peachy🤨. There's a lot to unpack, yet I'll try to keep it short.

I love that Ava and Isaac are still going strong. I hate that he had a huge slip in judgement and almost stepped out on Ava, yet I'm glad he came to his senses before any real damage could be done. Men🤦🏾‍♀️.

Ava is way too kind for me bc the moment Cassandra, the new VP of technology at their job, came to MY home and called me out my name, her teeth would've met the floor. Although she was so right in being angry, I was hoping Ava would've met Cassandra outside to Molly whop her behind. Doing what she did in their place of business was not the best. Either way, I bet Cassandra will think twice before she digs up dirt on anyone else, with her trifling behind😒. I was hoping to get more info on what kind of payback Ava would give Kelsey for initially posting on social media about her status, yet it wasn't too important. In the end it all worked out in Ava's favor.

Myah is so my girl. You always need a rider in your corner and she's definitely that for her family, especially Ava. I was hoping her and her husband, Anthony, would have more kids, yet I figured with 2 complicated pregnancies, you reevaluate things. Although she was the more rowdy of the two, I like that Myah kept a level head at work to help Ava's situation with the status rumor. I'm also glad she got hit first by Cassandra, then proceeded to try to send her on to glory😏. Ha, that whole fight was hilarious 🤭. Again, I'm glad things all worked out for Myah with the settlement and her, Ava and Ava's old assistant Zari, starting their new firm.

I really don't have too much to say on Cassandra. I thought she'd take the kindness of 2 other Black women at her new job as a way to help her navigate a new position, yet she had a unknown chip on her shoulder and it was totally unwarranted. She screwed that up royally. I love that even in her craziness, her ex-husband Chris was able to still be open and honest with her, even when he probably wanted to put hands on her. He is such a loving father and I hope we get more updates on his new relationship with Sidda and their baby and marriage.

The kids in this one was so nice to read about. The bond that the children had with their parents, then just the overall care they showed for each other was so sweet.

Mel Dau does it again. Another book that I love. Great read. Highly recommend.

Rating 4.5⭐️ Pull up a chair. When I tell you this book had me on a rollercoaster with no seatbelt! A LOT was happening and every chapter came in swinging. All aspects of life were tested in ways that made me clutch my chest and squint at the pages like now wait a damn minute.

First of all it really could’ve been three Black women running that company but Cassandra chose chaos, delusion and zero accountability instead. Sis never read the room, never caught the vibe and absolutely refused to stand in her mess. She should’ve stayed right where she was because the disruption she brought!! Freaking unnecessary and loud.

Chris, however, was a pleasant surprise. A grown man with sense. He never co-signed Cassandra’s foolishness and stayed locked in on what mattered his daughter. I love clarity and boundaries. MYAH lol ain't nothing changed still TTG! I was a little shocked that she tied her tubes that's the only shocker. I already knew Ava wasn’t standing alone and watching that support system tighten up felt so good. There was no doubt Myah and Ava were going to come out on top!

Now Isaac SIR. You are STILL that man but that almost slip had me side eyeing you heavy. I get that you’re human but knowing Ava’s past, knowing how she contracted HIV, knowing the pain tied to infidelity why would that even cross your mind? I didn’t like that stumble at all but I did respect how the marriage didn’t magically bounce back. The fallout felt real. The repair felt earned. Therapy gave them the blueprint on how to navigate future challenges.

Ava has a good life managing a hand she was dealt. You can't help but love her character. My heart broke with her. That garage scene took me OUT. Her breaking down, carrying the weight of fear, judgment and pain while trying to stay strong and then her son pulling away 😭😭😭 Not wanting to hug her I cried. Even when you understand a child is processing, it doesn’t make the hurt cut any less. That moment was raw and deeply human.

This story went from YASSS love wins to oh hell nah and back again in the best way. The tumble was hard but the rebuild was solid, powerful and still surrounded by love. Love unequivocal indeed but not without scars, tears and growth. This one FELT like life.

This was part of a series and I’m leaving the same review for book 2 as I did for book 1 because I fell exactly the same…

When I say that I have never , never , NEVER read a storyline like this one, I am telling the truth, the whole truth, and NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH okay!!! This read was emotional. I was on the brink of tears so many times. This read was educational, I learned so much about HIV that I didn’t even know and honestly felt a little ignorant and guilty, and shameful about inner assumptions. This read was about love, true and real love especially since (the way this storyline was written) this could happen to any of us. But it also taught me not to take nothing for granted. Myah and Ava are now 2 of my favorite book queens. I love them and I’m glad I decided to read this author’s entire catalog. This was the best decision I’ve made. Each storyline and although we’ve had some repeat characters each book has been different and unique. If you’re wondering whether or not you should read… THE ANSWER IS HELL YEAH ‼️‼️‼️ You won’t regret it.

Wow🔥🔥🔥

This follow up to the initial book was an awesome read. I’m enjoying going through this author’s catalog and finding these gems that she’s crafted. I enjoyed seeing the couples again and seeing their kids a little grown. This book was about life. I’m sad Cassandra turned out the way she did and did what she did🤦🏽‍♀️. Sucks trying to help someone and they reject your help and do what they want anyway. I hope she learned from her mistakes😩. It was nice to meet Chris, Cat, Mother Pearl and Sidda💃🏽💃🏽. Can I just say that the Mills’ house sounds like a dream?😉🥳🥳. I think Kelsey should have also gotten a beat down but they may have stayed in jail for that one cause they don’t play..😉. Anywhos, I cried, laughed, cried and laughed some more. It was a great read. Another great one. Thanks Mel Dau🥳🥳💃🏽💃🏽🔥🔥🔥🎉🎊

The Chihuahua Effect

Yup, I approached “Love Unequivocal: Book 2 of 2” with presuppositional bias. However, I was delightfully surprised, disappointed (briefly), entertained as well as elated by compassion, devotion & love demonstrated by the Mills/Montgomery🫣 gang with a measure of “f#$! around & find out” cometic banter🤕🤭‼️…Warning: Don’t let a descriptions, the designer & or degree deceive your judgment⁉️ Here’s a clue (CS): if you cannot fight, have been told explicitly you can’t fight (historically, by multiple sources 🤔) & you hail from the urban metropolis of Burbank CA …there’s a (99.999) ninety nine-nine % chance your a$$ endowed by the “chihuahua effect” all bark no bite or fight 🤷🏾‍♀️🤭‼️Thereafter, another must read from the Mel Dau catalog. Both books “Untainted Love” & Love Unequivocal” of the series were fantastic in content 😍 & context🤩‼️

GREAT ENDING

This was a great follow-up to Isaac and Ava's story. I love how they continue to thrive and now as husband and wife with 2 children. Myah and Ava will always be that dynamic duo, whether in business or family wise, and I loved it. I really wasn't expecting any drama to come their way, but I guess everything can't be perfect. Cassandra was something else, and I'm glad she got a reality check. Chris was an excellent father to Cat and didn't take any crap from Cassandra. I liked how welcoming everyone was to Chris and the friendship Joyiah and Cat were building. Overall, it was a great read.

Great catch up!

I absolutely loved book 2 of Issac and Ava’s story!!

It was great catching up with how life was treating them because life be lifing! Plus I knew my girl Myah and her hubby would make an appearance so I was excited for that.

Then Mel Dau introduced us to Christopher and Cassandra, I truthfully liked them both from the beginning but of course one of them had to be the villain in the book, which I ready for but then my spirit said nope we don’t like Cassandra and that was it for me when I came to her and her drama but I’ll let y’all decide for own y’all own how y’all feel about her.

This series definitely need to be on everyone’s TBR!

What a beautiful, yet emotional follow-up! I loved the life that Isaac and Ava made for themselves, and their babies. Myah and Ava still tight as ever, and bosses in their careers. A new player at the ladies' place of employment, shakes up the entire foundation of the family. But, Myah and Isaac surround Ava with love and support, as they always do and calmed the storm. Love the new couple that was formed here, and hope they get a story as well. Enjoyed all the teachable moments that were shared, while continuing to show the love that this couple had for each other. Great job! 👍👍👍

What a Great Ending

I definitely didn’t expect new characters to be added to the already known characters (Ava, Issac, Myah and Anthony) but man did Cassandra come along and shake things up. It was great seeing a Father like Chris who bent over backwards for his daughter Catherine in moving to NC to be closer to her. Cassandra was really a piece of work and deserved the beat down she got from Ava and Myah. This book was just as good as the previous one. So good to see everyone have a happy ending.

To Learn What True Love Is
Mel Dau, oh what a good read. I don't care what you write about you give some kind of lesson. Cassandra is one for the books. Unfortunately, her ways are l Ike so many people.
I love the unit they have with one another. Issac, Ava, Anthony Mya showed what family means. Chris was a good addition to the crew.
I would like to see them say at a later date🤗🤗🤗🤗
