Gray wants nothing to do with love after this hunky, strong rugby player had his heart brutally stomped on. He’s determined to focus on the game instead of women.
Unfortunately, his heart isn’t as hard as his rugged and chiseled body. The very instant he locks eyes with a gorgeous green-eyed journalist, he knows he’s in big trouble.
He wants her, all of her, and he can’t rest until then.
Piper is sure the scars on her heart will prevent her from ever finding love again – and the last person she expects to be wildly, primally attracted to is a sexy, steely-eyed athlete. Neither one is prepared for the intense sparks that erupt between them, leaving them both yearning powerfully for more.
Piper and Gray are used to running from romance, but suddenly they can’t imagine running anymore.
Is love enough to heal their hearts, or are they just going to end up even more broken than before?
Gray is the fourth book in the NZ Rugby Romance Series, but each of these short and spicy sports romances can be read and enjoyed all on their own. With no cliffhangers or cheating, expect a sizzling but sweet love story featuring rugged athletes and their feisty heroines finding happily after!
This steamy short story is approx. 7500 words long and is set in New Zealand and feature kiwi word usage and slang - you've been warned :)♥
I received a free ARC copy in exchange for my honest review. This is my own opinion and was not influenced by anyone.
Gray: A NZ Rugby Romance is book four in the series and the guys are back. They are all standalone romances with happily ever afters.
Gray has been a player with the Auckland team for two years now. He knows the real damage a girl can do to him and plans to avoid another one at all costs. He spots a redhead across the field that takes his breath away.
Piper is newly employed with the Auckland newspaper and she's hoping to score an interview with the rugby coach. Across the field she sees Gray. Athletes are no longer her type. She will not let a man drag her down again. Or so she keeps telling herself.
A chance encounter the next morning has Gray and Piper meeting. Trying to steel herself to him she almost runs away from him but fate puts her address in his hands.
This instant love story is short and heated. Piper is a strong woman who says what she thinks. Gray prioritizes what he wants and has the courage to tell her. The epilogue will make you swoon.
Their romance is fast and sweet but I liked it. Both characters are very likeable and I was happy when they got together. Other than reason they both are hesitant to enter a relationship, we don't have a lot of background about either character. The little bit we do have though is enough to satisfy. I also loved that Gray's rugby brothers are back. Their teasing of Gray, who comes off as the youngest brother is fun. Gray is an all around enjoyable read.
Gray and the team have been doing through the rugby drills for hours and his muscles are screaming. With the final round of the National Cup looming, their Auckland team coach wants everyone in peak condition for the big game, if he doesn’t kill them first! As they are stretching after the workout on the field, Gray spots a red-haired woman with green eyes walking across the field. He had given up on women, but this one is sure capturing his attention!
Piper, a journalist, likewise has no interest in a relationship. And an athlete isn’t what she is looking for! When Gray can’t get her out of his mind, he goes for a run and catches a tiny dog named Zeus who got away from his owner. When the owner calling for Zeus catches up to him, Gray can't believe his good luck – it’s the woman he saw at the practice field and was moaning over never seeing her again! Will they accept their fate and give a relationship a chance?
I like the stories in this series, but this is really too short. It could be so much better than 35 pages can make it. However, we get likable characters, we can feel the closeness of the teasing team members, and it gives a little bit of time for Piper and Gray to learn each other’s names at least! Seriously, the author did well. I would just urge for more pages so we get a better picture and get to enjoy the interactions more.

I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. I enjoyed this quick story about Gray and Piper. She's a journalist trying to get a story about the rugby team and their upcoming game. Unfortunately there coach is to busy. Gray is a second year player and when he spots the red head leaving the stadium, he gets a feeling. So image his surprise when he catches a dog running loose. When the owner catches up he can't believe his luck, it's the beauty from the field. Both have been hurt before but they have a crazy connection. Great HEA

Gray is the the fourth story in Eva Foxx's NZ Rugby series and the boys are definitely interesting and sexy too! The storyline for Gray's story had an easy ebb and flow and the characters were engaging and made the reader want to know them better. It's always refreshing to see a more vulnerable and emotional side to these tough and powerful men. I'm thoroughly enjoying the series and look forward to the next instalment.

A very well-written book 4 in the NZ Rugby Series was an interesting second chance at love, short and spicy, sports romance story as it had some very well-crafted scenes and story plots. These characters have very strong personalities and their interactions are believable. This story has the following: twists and turns, adventure, action, romance, steam and a HEA. It is a fast-paced story that will keep you engaged from start to finish.

From cross the rugby field their eyes connected for only second, but it was enough to leave an impact for both Gray and Piper. They had both been hurt in their previous relationships and swore off love for good. There was just something about this one. This story was interesting in how they actually finally met. Insta-love strikes again.

What a wonderful quick lunch break read. This is the fourth book of the NZ Rugby Romance series. This is a short, fast, page turning read that will have you on an emotional ride. This story is about Gray and Piper who see each other from across the rugby field and then run into each other when Gray catches her little dog that has escaped her.

This very short Insta-everything somehow does not make contact with me. It only took me about an hour to read it and perhaps it is just too short. The previous stories in this series have all been better than this one. So I hope this is only a one time thing and am looking forward to reading more by this author as I really like to read stories by authors from NZ and Australia.

This is Gray and Piper's story. Both characters are struggling with their heart from past relationships, even though there is a instant connection the fear of a broken heart keep them from moving forward. Will Gray take to step or loose Piper forever.
This fast read is sweet and caring that will warm your heart every step of the way.

Gray and Piper were wronged in their own history. They are of course apprehensive about trying again but when they meet from across the playing field? Why does gray want to chase after her and she wants to run for shelter? It’s serendipity. But whose going to make the first move for their rightness in love?
