2 Stars On Dangerous Ground 1 Star A Place to Call Home/Grayson
The first book had some potential but lost it quickly. This was a romantic Suspense I believe ? Romance: It had the traditional instant-love that is in almost all of Sala’s book. Relied on sex rather than developing an actual relationship. They did not actually date. Went pretty much straight to live and living together. Suspense: I think the average reader could see what was coming a mile away. No, not much suspense.
Also, there multiple POVs. Which I did not feel added to the plot and actually helped to reveal what was going to happen. It was not all bad. (Beside underdeveloped characters and plot.) I did like the kid. Rachel? She was only two so more toddler than baby. She was portrayed accurately. She acted and sounded like a kid. Which does not always happen. I found several errors and the writing was poor at times.
It was listed that this book was published in 2021. That is not the case. It’s in the 90s. Which any reader will quickly pick up on. (For example, few cell phones, beepers, phone books etc.) I have run into this disinformation several times with this author’s work and/publisher. I guess when it’s re-released (or whatever the term is), the older dates gets replaced. It’s a bit annoying. I am just going to have to see if I can Goggle it next time.
The second book. Well this was…there was so many unbelievable and stupid things that happened. It was a no go for me. This was probably an older book as well. I might consider giving this author another try with something current.
Content Intimacy: Not clean. Multiple sexy times for both books. I skip over that stuff but it seemed descriptive. I was going over pages etc. Violence: Both books. Book one had child abuse and an assault. Book two, multiple murder attempts (bombs, car crashes, shoot outs etc.). Language: Cursing, yes. More so in book one.

I really enjoyed this story very much. The characters were great and the story was very believable, I love stories like that in non fiction they are great stories.
